Wonderful park and wonderful staff. The park was well manicured with long concrete sites and grassy areas between sites. No need to disconnect the tow dolly and wide enough to park the car next to the dolly. Very quiet and relaxing park. We have stayed in the Dothan area several times and find this RV park to be the best in appearance and value. - Pepper2
Apr 2019 - $29.00
This campground is located at the rear of a large casino / amphitheater that went bankrupt before opening. It is now being used as a bingo parlor. The campground itself is the new style cookie cutter same sites, all pull through. Sites are close together with wide long concrete parking pads that are somewhat level. As described the utilities are placed at the rear quarter of each site requiring long hoses and cables. AT&T and Verizon are good, the WIFI is spotty at best. There are no fire rings (not permitted) or picnic tables along with no restrooms or showers or laundry. The facility is very clean and maintained. This complex has possibilities but given the low usage rate and lack of customer draw I don't think it will survive much longer. This complex is located 9 miles south of Dothan, AL on US 231 - lllkrob

I stayed at this park 106 days and left in late March. This is a good campground with long & double wide concrete sites & asphalt roads. The staff is excellent. Had good AT&T Cell & 3 bars of LTE data, Good Dish Sat & 11 OTA channels. All sites are pull throughs & I agree with previous reviews concerning the sites and location of the utilities. Since I stayed there so long, I parked my tow in front of my MH which put my hookups in the ideal position. There were about 20 RVs belonging to construction workers. They were there to clean up from the hurricane. They were generally quiet but their diesel pickups were not at 6:00 am. Some of them were a little trashy also. They will be gone in a few weeks. This would be a really great campground with some repairs to the asphalt & concrete. Some of the sites need to be power washed. They are going to build a fenced dog walk & laundry/showers/toilets building. I gave them a 9 because I do not use any amenities except laundry. I found a nice one about 10 miles away. Paved sites & roads rank very high in my rating a campground. I enjoyed it there and Dothan has most of the businesses & restaurants you would find in larger cities. A Walmart is 9 miles away and a Publix is 10 miles. - User1688

Intimate and peaceful. Nice trails - Texaloha
Jan 2019 - $28.00
The landscape change post Hurricane Michael is dramatic. Before there was lots of trees and under growth. You could hardly see another site. Today, the campground is wide open. No longer the number of trees, and the under growth has been removed. The Rangers and workers obviously did a remarkable job with bringing the campground together. Most of the trail boardwalks have been repaired.
I like the new look of the campground, it’s just not as cozy feeling as before. The entire panhandle area suffered catastrophic damage, which is easily seen as you make your way to Chipley. Getting this park back open so quickly is amazing. We really enjoy our time here and we will continue to camp here. - Travelingcircus

Falling Waters State Park is a nice little park in Chipley, FL, with Florida's highest waterfall. The campground is open again after post-Hurricane Michael clean-up. This is a simple, quiet place, with very nice staff and very active campground hosts. There are 24 campsites, each with a picnic table, water hook-up, 30/50 amp power and a fire ring. There is also a comfort station with showers, an ADA-compliant family bathhouse with 2 locking shower/bathrooms and a dump station. There are three concrete ADA-compliant pads and 2 tent-only sites. Our campsite was level sand. There are 3 short trails (1 of which is still closed by debris) and a lake with a sand beach (the weather was a little too cool for us to try this). We had a strong AT&T signal, managed to get a Dish satellite signal through the trees and picked up a good assortment of OTA channels. All in all, this is nothing fancy but I would definitely return. - Indybear
Apr 2019 - $11.00
A-okay RV Park is by far the best place me and my better half have stayed at. Very quiet, down to earth people. The staff was awesome, so nice, pet friendly, we will definitely be staying here again. - Michelle Lane
Mar 2018 - $17.00
The campsites are very large with convenient hookups. The owner and staff were very helpful and friendly. Additional campsites are under construction for future campers. Propane fill-up is available. The camp is in a quiet rural area. The site was unpaved grass but it was reasonably level and we had no problem with soft ground mentioned in other reviews. I gave it a 9 rating as it is great for short term or overnight campers but there are not amenities such as a playground for kids or a pool for summer use. For the price we paid we had no c0mplaints. - Steve77
Sep 2017 - $22.00
As evacuees we were just glad to be safe. Management could not have been more helpful and generous. Pure southern hospitality. They were doing their absolute best to take in all of us they could. No real amenities like pool or sitting/gathering areas but we all made do. God bless them. - awesum21

Apr 2019 - $38.00
Much of this campground appears to be well maintained permanent residents. The transient/overnighters are assigned toward the front (satellite friendly!) and the long pull-throughs are in a row very close to the highway, Rte 231. This is a busy road, all night, and even those of us used to some traffic noise in campgrounds, this noise is pronounced. Earplugs recommended. Otherwise a clean, friendly and efficiently-run campground right on the highway for easy in and out. - alanez
Jan 2019 - $33.00
Park is in a upgrade and looks good. Free Wi-Fi and cable. Close to town. Sights are roomy but not much shade. worth a stay. - geo cong
Sep 2018 - $38.00
We had a long level pull through with plenty of space for the tow. Full hook ups with cable. Cable worked well and WiFi was better than most. Lots of permanent residents but it is an RV and MH park. Well maintained. Looked like the pull through sites up front by the road were for the overnighters. The road noise didn't bother us. We use earplugs at night if it's loud. Plenty of grass for walking the dog. Would would stay again if passing through. - Patricia57
Mar 2019 - $28.00
Vonda, the owner, is awesome, and very welcoming. The campground is very clean, and utilities are great. The location is very convenient--not far off I10. The only issue is with road noise from I10. - novastorm
Mar 2019 - $40.00
This park was hit hard by the hurricane last August but has been cleaned up and the owner is doing all she can to get it back to normal. Very convenient to I-10 good power and water. - Grumpa
Dec 2018 - $25.00
Vonda is what you want from a park owner. We were unable to complete our stay at the Hitchin Post, and she was very gracious in cancelling our reservation, with no question and no cancellation fee. When we are passing through Cottondale again, we will surely give Vonda a call and stay at the Hitchin Post. - Rancher RVers
Mar 2019 - $33.00
We understand these are new owners and need time to make improvements. We had a reservation but our assigned site was already occupied. With approval of the office, we parked in the only other unoccupied site that was long enough. Park roads are very rutted and narrow. Mostly long term residences and lots of construction vehicles on the property.
No grass or cable here. Also no picnic table or fire ring but then again no space to put them in.
This is an overnight and we’ll make due. - Boomerific
Feb 2019 - $39.00
Easy in and out. Staff was very friendly. - Agincajun47
Jan 2019 - $35.00
This is the worst park I have ever stayed in. Sites are not level. I understand about the recent storm but the management lets heavy equipment (track hoes, large bucket trucks) in the park. They start loading and unloading at 5 am. You won't get any sleep. Talked with the staff and they don't care. One morning they were trying to load a track hoe less than a foot from my pickup. Called owner and they still didn't care. Normal day for contractors is starting around 4am. Trucks being idle for an hour that early in the morning. The park does not enforce the quiet time hours. Do not recommend this park to anyone. - Ltyndall
Oct 2017 - $30.00
There are campsites available if you are going to an event at the Farm Center. The FHU's are a long way from the event center. The W&E sites are a short walk on a fairly level grass area. The water is on one side of the field and the electric is on the opposite side so be sure and bring extra water hose and/or electric cables. Also bring an adaptor for 50 t0 30 amp and another for 30 to 110. Great place to stay for a Farm Center event. - Hey You
May 2014 - $17.00
Nothing fancy here, but a good spot for a quick overnight. All sites are grass and mostly level. There are two areas with hook-ups. Up-top, close to the buildings are 13 pull-through sites with 50/30 amp, water and sewer. Along the fence are another 15 back in sites with full hook-ups as well. Down the dirt road to the lower level is another area with multiple back-in sites, but only some have sewer hook-ups. Pay at the double wide trailer across the parking lot behind the building with arches. The previous review posted office hours are correct. Would stay here again as an en-route stop. - Good Vibes
Jan 2014 - $17.00
This is actually the county fairgrounds. We pulled in just for a quick overnight. Office was closed and we didn't see where to check in, but the gate was open so we just pulled in and found a site (we were the only ones there). We paid in the morning once we found the office, which is actually a double-wide trailer. (Hours 7-12, 1-4). Apparently there is a mailbox next to the fence where you could pay at night. Excellent easy overnight spot. - GO'Neil
Oct 2018 - $45.00
We were there for their Halloween weekend. Have not had that much fun in a LONG time. Costume contest, hay rides, site decorating, site crawl. It was a blast! All the fellow campers were super friendly and got a chance to talk with the owners. Great guys and you can tell they work hard to make this place great. Wil. Definitely be back!! - NolesGuy86
Feb 2018 - $50.00
Older gay campground that is a little overgrown but the new owners are working on it. I typically would have given the campground a middle rating due to the newness but the owners have the attitude that if you don't give an outstanding rating don't bother coming back. So I cannot rate them above a poor rating as the $ value is lacking. $100.00 for 2 nights is extreme. The road into the campground is disturbing, the trash was never dumped from the garbage cans, the site is majorly uneven 8" drop had to use 2 "2 X 6"s & levelers and the sewer hookup was higher than the rig. - Campin Kayak
Sep 2018 - $26.00
We went for Labor Day weekend. The park itself it beautiful. It has lots to do within and surrounding areas. The Blue Hole Is a marvel, as the caverns are, too. The campsites, however, need to be improved. The whole weekend it rained and while the handicap spots had concrete slabs (about 4) and site 16 had gravel, all others had a clay-type looking mud that was impossible not to track everywhere within our motor home and anytime we jumped in our vehicle! It was difficult visiting with other campers (there was 3 campers in our group) - as we kept stepping into water/mud. To boot, while it's not the parks fault that it stormed our last night, the electricity was knocked out at about 7:30p.m, and was not back on for the whole campsite until 5:00a.m or so. Tent campers packed up and left after dealing with mud for a couple of nights and then the power outage. Complete darkness everywhere. If that wasn't bad enough the water, also stopped because it must need electricity! Horrible last night. The staff and the host were helpful with information and sharing their knowledge of the area. Advice: have generator, extra water, and boots if there's a chance of rain. The upgrade to gravel at the very least would make this an ideal spot for camping in nature! - MPadilla
Sep 2018 - $26.00
Went camping with my motorhome for labor day weekend. Sites have no gravel or concrete. I did see only one site with gravel and the only concrete sites are for the handicapped. The sites are roomy But very muddy and have very poor drainage. We spent 3 nights in the mud. Why can't all the site have gravel like site number 16??? The last night there a rainstorm knocked out power for the entire campground. The campgrounds lost power at 7:30 pm, power was not restored until 5:00 am the next day. The camp host was helpful and friendly! It is very doubtful that we will be returning to this State park and will not be recommending this campsite to anyone!! Also wanted to mention that the tent campers were leaving as fast as they came in. - HPad
Sep 2018 - $20.00
Small secluded park. Tight traveling the inner camping loop with a lot of trees. Could use some trimming along the main circle, but really nice in the sites with the privacy. Great place to just get away and relax. Swimming hole a few minutes walk from the camp site with picnic area and space to lay out a blanket. Only a 2 mile walk to the caverns, a must see. I would stay at the park again, quiet and relaxing. We stayed at site 4 in a 40' RV with plenty of room. Would stay at site 16 next time around, no neighbors on the one side. - trvlgminis
Jul 2016 - $25.00
This is one of the best RV parks we have stayed at!! The owners were very sweet, they treated us pretty much like family. They invited us into their home and we talked for hours. They would take my 2 year old daughter riding on their golf carts (of course I rode also).
The park was very clean, and quiet!! Laundry room was clean. My husband loved the lake/fishing!! Will definitely be back if we are near Geneva, Alabama again!!
They looked after me and my daughter while my husband worked during the day. When it would start storming they would check to make sure we were okay and asked if we needed anything!! Wifi worked great.
The owners kept the park very clean, he was always outside doing yard work!!! She kept the flower beds really pretty, hope we can visit with them soon!!! - Shelby Shoemake
Jan 2016 - $35.00
This place was not clean and very noisy. We were looking for a relaxing vacation and this place was anything but. Owners were rude and unfriendly. - Ron and Amy
Jan 2011 - $18.00
The owners have done an excellent job of cleaning up after the previous owners. Both are the kindest, most helpful and gracious owners we have encountered. Everyone is very friendly. The grounds are landscaped nicely and well kept. There are a number of long timers who are also helpful. They have added a club house for get together. Two docks available for fishing. Landing is available with a recommended $2 launching fee. The lake only allows electric motors - no gasoline. The campgrounds are literally out in the country closer to Geneva, AL than Defuniak Springs, FL. - MOexpat
