This is one of the best Florida State park campgrounds. Wide clean sites, good power, good water pressure, plenty of room between sites. Will return. We camped at Jonathan Dickinson State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This was our second time staying here and we just figured out that there is a larger and nicer campground near the entrance to the park that is designed for RVs. Apparently, we have been staying in the tent camping area! While the RV area is in the sun, the sites are concrete as opposed to shell in the tent camping area. There are also full hookups and a newer restroom facility. Next time, we will stay there because the tent camping area sites are not as spacious and attract a lot of large groups. Though noisy, they follow campground rules for the most part. The restrooms were clean enough though they are used a lot by swimmers and had some sand in the showers. This is a nice campground in the middle of South Florida showing what Florida was like before so much development occurred. We camped at Jonathan Dickinson State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We have stayed here several times and it remains to be a great place to stop in this area of FL. The PG loop is the newer of the two campgrounds and has full 50 amp hookups. The river area has been upgraded since our last visit. We will return again (if we can get a reservation). FL SP's are getting really hard to get into. We camped at Jonathan Dickinson State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a great local brewery just down US-1 that opened since our last visit, Tequesta Brewing Company. A great work staff there. It's in with West Marine and has some very good beers. HH Tue - Fri 3 - 6 and Sun 12- 8. A great stop for a cold one.

What a great park, clean, quiet and big! We stayed here for 5 days and wanted to stay longer. Park staff very friendly and helpful. Sites are level and spacious but some are kinda close to your neighbor. Close to the beach, Jupiter or Hobe Sound, restaurants and shopping. We are panning a return trip next year! This is a great State park! Full hookups, water, sewer, electric (50 amp) sites are extra large. Whole park is clean and the campground is no exception. We stayed here about 30 years ago and there is no comparison to what is was before. Wanted to make reservations for December but they are already booked. Can't wait to go back. Good paved interior roads, picnic table and fire ring. Sites are packed gravel. No issues with the water or electric hook ups. We camped at Jonathan Dickinson State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a very nice state park campground. We stayed in the full hookup Pine Grove loop. The sites were a little close together compared to most other state parks we've stayed at, but we never felt crowded, and it's certainly much better spacing than most commercial RV Parks. There are no mature trees, so there's little privacy within the campground. Because of the way the loops are curved, there are some sites (all are back-ins) with extremely long pads (100'), and others that are very short and close to the road. We found some good places to walk the dog near the campground, and there are more trails at the other end of the park, 4 miles away. Cell service was good, and it was a short drive to stores and restaurants in either Jupiter (south) or Hobe Sound (north). If you're staying a while, mail and packages can be received at the campground office. Given the low price for full hookups, this is a great value and someplace we'll look at returning to in the future. We camped at Jonathan Dickinson State Park in a Motorhome.

We had not camped here in two years and they have cleaned the park up a lot. I did not expect it to be this nice after the storms that hit Florida this year. They have cleaned up the trees and other growth a lot scents we were here In the river campground. And think they have new restrooms but did not camp there. As for the pine tree campground it has all ways been nice with all level pea gravel or paved disability sites. And all will accommodate any size rig. If you have a big rig stay away from the river campground. There is a camp store and grill at the river. Also a nice display building and information about the park close to the store also. Both have WIFI. The store one is open and the other building you have to ask for a pass word. there is a boat tour and also canoes and kayaks for rent and also bicycles. There is lots of places to ride bikes on and off road. Everyone that works there is nice and keep the park in very good condition. You will find stores with in eight miles of the park gate for anything you may need. We camped at Jonathan Dickinson State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This park is huge. We are making the rounds of all the parks in Florida and this is one of the biggest we have hit yet. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but not out favorite. First, the pros: *We stayed at the River Campground and the boat launch is right there. Great for launching the Kayaks or a boat on a trailer. *There is a FANTASTIC MTB trail system that is well maintained and has trails for all skill levels. There is also a very nice 2-3 mile paved trail. *The camp store/rental shop is very nice and staffed by truly helpful folks. *Sites are very level, crushed shell, very firm. The cons: *The sites have zero privacy and are surrounded by basically fields of weeds. *There is only 1 dump station, far from our site. *Sites are very tight. We camped at Jonathan Dickinson State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here for 2 nights as a test trip for a new 5th wheel. The sites were large, gravel with good location for utilities. Our site had a picnic table and fire ring with a grate for cooking. Sites were separated well and never felt crowded. There were 4 bath houses in our Pine Grove area with pop machines and restrooms. Dog walking was great and it looked like everyone cleaned up behind their dogs. There are county parks and the beach is less than 10 miles away. It is south FL in the summer so no see-ums and biting gnats were prevalent so bring the bug spray. There is another section called the River Campground which has close together sites and no sewer but a dump station is available. On the road biking is great but if 16 or younger must have a helmet. There are many off road bike trails. Lots to do at the campground and surrounding area. We camped at Jonathan Dickinson State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

From looking at aerial views, the campground looked pretty barren, but after arriving, we were very pleasantly surprised! Few large trees, but lots of shrubs and smaller trees and bushes. The crew here is still working on adding additional/replacing dead trees. Sites are very large and flat, but most have limited privacy if that's important to you. Lots of off road bike trails and a few miles of paved walking/biking trails. The campground is near the highway, but unless you're right next to it, the noise didn't detract from a very peaceful campground. A huge bonus (to us, and our dogs!) was a very dog friendly off leash 2.5 stretch of gorgeous beach only about 5 miles away. Lots to do in the area and less than an hour from Palm Beach. We already have two seperate two week reservations for next winter. This is now one of our favorite Florida state parks (so far). Open sky for satellite reception and very good Verizon. We camped at Jonathan Dickinson State Park in a Motorhome.
