Good park in an unfortunate location. The park itself: Friendly, efficient check-in. Cement pull-thru full hookup spots. Spots are somewhat level but cement on some sites is cracked. Patio & picnic table. Good wifi. Cable. Pool. Small lake. The location: It is directly under a flight path and the planes are so close that one can count the rivets! The planes take off at 6 am sharp and end in the evening so it is quieter at night but quite loud during the day. Park is also near a freeway; convenient for stop-overs but noisy. This is a great place for a stop-over and we've stopped here frequently on our way between South Carolina and Florida. Central Reservation will say that a minimum of 1 week stay is required but ask for the local office as they do allow overnight stays. There are a number of long-term RV's but they are maintained. They are in the back section. Travelers are put in the front section. We would stay here again as a stop-over spot but would not stay longer due to the very loud noise. Price seemed high. We camped at Pecan Park RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This RV park's only drawback is its proximity to Jacksonville International Airport ... as the glide path for arriving planes puts them just a couple of hundred feet over park. However, we have stayed here on a number of occasions when heading to or returning from central and southern Florida; and will continue to do so. We camped at Pecan Park RV Resort in a Motorhome.

First time at this park and most likely the last only because it's way overpriced. The property is not a resort but rather a nice campground that charges like a resort. The amenities are nice but we noted several concrete pads within the park that are not level [including our site] which required some RVs to park with wheels off the ground in order to get level. Yes, the campground is located within the takeoff path of Jacksonville international airport runway 8 but planes, trains, and major highways always seem to be a part of RV camping. Sun Communities is a big corporation and like most billion-dollar corporations' profit is king so do not be surprised if you don't get exactly what you paid for. We camped at Pecan Park RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We have stayed here numerous times on the way from SC to Fl. Yes, the flight path is above but it really isn't a bother unless you want the quiet of a State park. We live with air or heat and a TV in or outside going all the time and don't notice them unless we are outside and it is slight. Personally, I find them fascinating! Overall it is extremely clean without the oft seem "trash" campsites. Big rigs are welcome with plenty of room for our 40 footer plus dolly and tow. Though we don't use the amenities, the pool seems nice and clean. Didn't use the laundry but have read that the machines take credit cards which I think it wonderful; when we did use them we never had enough change. It is so close to I-95, easy in, easy out. We have never had anything but help from the staff, including arriving later without a reservation today. Our initial call was sent to the "corporate office" who could not make reservations. They do close earlier than expected on Sundays so be sure to have a confirmation. Nevertheless, a staff member was there, provided us a phone number -- not the corporate we were directed to -- and we were "in like Flynn"! Some of the complaints, in my opinion, are petty such as garbage pick up, monitoring the behavior of "guests", etc. I like a site where I feel safe from neighbors' bad behavior. When walking our dogs, I noticed all kinds of campers, from 45 footers with tows to much smaller cab-overs. Just now an RV came in hauling a boat! No unhooking required. If I were staying a bit to see Jacksonville, I definitely would stay here. I've also noticed a number of obviously seasonal campers staying here. Given I prefer a clean campground with concrete pads ( yes, in some there are minor cracks but not obstructing), where I feel very safe at night, where my dogs are welcome, where I can enter and exit without major traffic or poor road conditions, and where fellow campers are friendly, I will always stay here for a night or a week. We camped at Pecan Park RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This place is great. We used it for an overnight but will return. We are used to the planes noises so that doesn't bother us. The restrooms and laundry were so clean they actually smelled nice. Place is kept up and the dog walk is big enough for larger animals. You can also walk the campground with your animals. Shopping is close by. Site was level concrete and long enough for my 44 ft MH and tow. Plenty of grassy area between sites plus a nice wide concrete area. Really helps keep the RV clean! This a beautiful RV Park. Well kept, clean, and with large sites perfect for the big boys (40 feet plus) and with a full size tow. ALL sites are concrete paved, pull through sites! Each site comes with 20/30/50 AMP electric, Water, City Sewer, Cable, and WiFi. Concrete slab measures about 70' long, 20' wide with a descent amount of lawn between each site. We've visited this park a number of times over the past 4 years and about a year or so go it has since become a corporate owned park that has undergone major renovations and aesthetic updates since its purchase and new managment. Very spacious bathhouse with large showers and tasteful decor. Very clean. The laundry room is equipped with commercial grade washer and dryers. You will have to use your Debit Card or Credit Card to pay per wash or dry cycle with the swipe of your card at the machine itself. This is a huge plus when you don't travel with large amounts of quarters and don't want to deposit money onto a laundry card. Swimming pool is very clean and well maintained. Clubhouse offers dining and entertainment space that can also be rented by its guests (currently at no cost). It comes equipped with a full size kitchen and serving bar. There is also an outdoor, covered patio space with grills that overlook the lake fully stocked and no need for a fishing license! Pet Friendly Park. Currently no breed restrictions and you may have up to two pets per site. There is a fully fenced dog park and you are welcomed to walk the park with your pets. Currently, the park does not charge extra for pets as guests; another plus.
This park's staff communicates efficiently with email and telephone calls. Be sure to provide the phone number that you will be using during your stay and provide an email if you have one. We arrived late and had it not been for access to our email, we would not have known what to do or where to go when we arrived to the park. We

Tips for other Campers:
The resort is located right off of Interstate 95 and is conveniently located near lots of entertainment, shopping, restaurants, and RV sales and repair should you need it. Additionally, you're within 30 minutes drive to historical sites and beaches. Next door to the resort is Jacksonville's largest indoor/outdoor Flea & Farmers Market.

Arrived on Sunday. Office closed Sunday. Took info from box by the door directing me to an available site. Paid for stay the next morning. Office staff were very pleasant. I've stayed in this park many times over the last 6 years. Park was approximately 60% full. There is major air traffic from nearby JAX airport. Didn't bother me. Some people may not like the noise. Very nice park. I would not say it is a resort. Very well kept, friendly staff. Pool area is very nice. We are staying for a month. Wifi is practically non existent. If internet is important to you or airplane traffic you may not like it here. It gets loud once in a while but not really an issue for me. I had to use my phone data to check my emails. The sites are all concrete pull thru and all roads are paved. We camped in a 43 foot motorhome. We camped at Pecan Park RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Only real negative was the price and overhead flight path. Facilities are immaculate and wash room had plenty of machines which also take credit cards. I read the other reviews and decided to try Pecan Park and felt the other reviews were very harsh! This is an RV resort, not a campground, thus I did not expect a lot of shade trees and the "parking lot feel" - well that allows level sites, easy maneurvering, and pull-thrus, which is nice. All of the roads and lots and patios are paved - no gravel and dust! - except our site had excessive crumbling concrete, which made the site look pretty bad (the patio portion was okay though - that's the important part). There is grass btw all sites with small shrubs by the hook-ups and trees and landscaping along the perimeter of the park - all look very nice. And it seems that they are adding more landscaping as well. The long-term folks are toward the rear of the park and none of those sites (or their units) are offensive! The clubhouse and RR's are top notch. We don't use wi-fi, so I can't comment on that. The workers are friendly and efficient. The downside: The dog park was unusable due to flooding - there is a low spot that needs to be addressed (it appears that any amount of rain would make it unusable) and there is no recreation or fitness room. I do feel that the place is extremely over-priced for what they offer. We were able to use PA for one night ($30), but the other 2 nights were $56 with GS, which is really too much for what the park has to offer - especially for the "off-season." We camped at Pecan Park RV Resort in a Motorhome.
