This is our second trip to Grand Oaks in as many years. Last year we stayed for only 4 days but this year we're here just short of 3 months. We love the nice large Big Rig friendly sites, full hookups, quiet beautiful scenery, equine activities taking place at the resort, etc. The staff is very friendly and accommodating! They have two good sized dog parks which are next to each other so you can have larger and smaller dogs apart from each others if you need to. They have a nice spa and club house where you can relax, have your hair cut/styled, swimming pool. They also have a very well tuned internet wireless network which seems to be very fast. I still work full time from our coach and was able to do not only my work remote controlling PCs and servers in the home office and around the world but also able to host/run/attend Skype meetings. We will definitely return again next year. We camped at Grand Oaks Resort & Museum in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

On site there is horse back riding, carriage rides, pool, club house with pool table, TV kitchen, 5+ miles of walking paths, golf cart rentals, catch and release fishing, equine shows from time to time, etc. Shopping in the Villages provides everything you may possibly need with all the major and local shops.

This was our third extended stay here. This time there was construction since they were added camp sites that will approximately double the size of the CG. The workers started early in the morning but they should be finished by the time we are back. It is nice seeing the horse events while staying. There is a small clubhouse, pool, and heated spa up by the CG. Down near the offices there is a pickleball court. We camped at Grand Oaks Resort & Museum in a Motorhome.

What a great park! Plenty of breathing room between spots and an amazing view. You will be very close to shops but in a country setting (being on a horse farm). We really enjoyed our stay here. We camped at Grand Oaks Resort & Museum in a Motorhome.

The gate locks to the RV entrance at 9 pm. Make sure you either get the gate code! If you don't, you can use the other entrance which is beautiful but not fun to navigate in the dark. We muddled through though.

A small but great RV park on 470 acres of beautiful horse farm. Easy access to The Villages & Orlando, Ocala. Plenty of walking, bicycling, on paved or grass roads. No employees available after 5 or weekends but you can just park on site assigned & they will show up. WiFi was weak at best so satellite is best. The quiet was deafening!!! Nearby airport provided air show of biplanes & tail draggers. Dining & dancing in Villages. We camped at Grand Oaks Resort & Museum in a Travel Trailer.

Grand Oaks Resort is a lovely spot to spend some time. It is a bit off the beaten path but easy enough to find. There are some low hanging trees on the road into the resort but one can avoid them with careful driving. We drive a 45ft motorhome (not towing) and were able to navigate the resort without difficulty. The sites are located adjacent to the horse competition area so one can see horses come and go regularly throughout the day. The roads within the resort are paved and the sites are a concrete pad with gravel drive-up. Utilities are well placed and worked well while we were there. There is a pool, hot tub, and small club house which were clean. There is no designated dog area but the whole resort is open and grassy making it easy to walk the dog. The internet worked well enough for gentle surfing. Grand Oaks is peaceful and a wonderful place to spend a couple of relaxing days. We camped at Grand Oaks Resort & Museum in a Motorhome.

Our second visit here in two years. Close to The Villages but far enough away that congestion is minimal to and from the campground. 45 sites, most with concrete pads. All sites are full service, large and wide. Facility caters to equestrian events and allows campers to enjoy all of them. Great place for walking, biking and interacting with a variety of horses and carriages. Highly recommend this facility. Has a Gift Shop and Bistro Lounge on the property. RV entry has a gate which automatically closes at 9:00PM. Entry code required to gain access after 9 PM. Only negative is trying to contact Administration on weekends and after hours. Phone contact is referred to answering service. Very liberal policies involving guests. Found that guests are allowed to access the facility without additional cost. We camped at Grand Oaks Resort & Museum in a Motorhome.

Stayed over New Years weekend. This is a beautiful park focused on equestrian events 3/4 of the park is paddocks, museum, stables all perfectly kept. The RV section is at one end of this vast park. Convenient to visit friends in The Villages and surrounding area. Although the sites are not shaded, they back up to a greenbelt which is great to run your dogs or fly your drones! Beautiful recreation building with private baths with showers. Pool and all the amenities desired in an RV Resort. We camped at Grand Oaks Resort & Museum in a Motorhome.

We stayed for a month while exploring the area. First two weeks in a pull thru with cement pad and the second one was grassy back in. From the pull-thru we could hear announcers starting at 7 a.m. on the event days. The back in was an end site so very spacious. The RV Park supports the equine activities .which we weren't involved with, but we watched part of some events. There was a nice pool with spa but neither were heated when we were there. We were told the heat was coming. The wifi had been damaged from the weather so was only available in the clubhouse when we were there. Overall, very nice campground but I would chose the back in option if I stayed again. We camped at Grand Oaks Resort & Museum in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice campground! The campsite are very level. Make sure if you have a big rig you ensure you have site which has a cement to park on. We were assign a site which had sod and our motorhome started to sink into the sod. Fortunately the office was open and they reassigned us into paved site We camped at Grand Oaks Resort & Museum in a Motorhome.

A great place for weekend getaway. The RV resort area is not too large - but all the lots are big. Most have concrete pads and picnic tables. Many of the lots over look the horse riding and training area which is a really great view. The resort boasts 7 miles of paved walking/bike trails. The only downside is that there is no Wi-Fi or cable TV available at any of the RV sites. For as much as they charge and as nice as this place is - that should a standard amenity. We stay here a few times a year, and love this quiet park. Set up to support equine & dog events, therefore lots of open space for horses and dogs. They also support personal events as well (weddings, reunions etc) The park is located a distance off I-75, and the back roads are narrow to the RV entrance. We had no issues with a 40' motor home and tow, just took it slow around corners. You can now reserve on their website, see what is available for the dates and chose your site. When you arrive at park, you can go directly to your site as there is no office or formal check in process. Once settled, they will come by with a check in packet with information. Our site pad was concrete, level, full 50 amp hook up with patio and picnic table. The remainder of the site is asphalt/gravel. Good green space between sites. Easy in and out for big rigs. There is no shade on the sites. They don't have cable, but because our site was open, we had great satellite. Most sites are no shade, open to sky, there are a few back in that are close to trees. They added a pool and spa. As stated above the park is designed for events, therefore no other activities. There is a pool table and TV in the lodge. Grounds are clean! They were working on grounds as we arrived a few weeks after Hurricane Irma. Staff is very friendly and helpful. 2 runs, one each for large and small dogs. Also lots of green area to walk dogs. The laundry room is small, but efficient. There is a museum and cafe on property. The cafe has a full service bar. We ate at the cafe this visit, good food. There is also a fishing pond. If you like quiet, no activities except events, would highly recommend if staying in the area more then a night! We camped at Grand Oaks Resort & Museum in a Motorhome.

Without a doubt one of the nicest RV parks I have even been in. The sites were spacious and level, the views out our windshield were fabulous (horse corrals, woods, arenas, fabulous sunsets) and there are miles of asphalt walking available that will take you through the facility. Large oak trees with Spanish moss or open and sunny will find you walking amongst corrals with horses that are happy to see you. Beautiful pool and small club house. The Bistro was a delight for dinner a few nights and watching the carriage horses being exercised right in front of our motorhome was wonderful. We were lucky enough to be there for 3 of the 4 weekends having shows that were watched from our site! We camped at Grand Oaks Resort & Museum in a Motorhome.

This is an RV area inside a horse resort. Sites are concrete, level, well kept, FHU that work great. Rolling hills with views of competition areas. Resort has restaurant, museum, bar and is beautiful. Even with a competition while we were there, it was quite. About 4 miles from The Villages and everything you could need or want. Definitely will stay here again. We camped at Grand Oaks Resort & Museum in a Motorhome.

With tax we ended up at $50/night. Be sure to navigate to the Griffin Avenue entrance. The back roads are narrow and curvy but do-able. Once inside, it wasn't abundantly clear where to stop, check-in and unhook our toad. There is a sign that says to call so we did. A friendly lady answered our call and quickly appeared in a golf cart to escort us to our site. Our site was a back in which gave us a wonderful view of the grounds through our big windshield. We enjoyed seeing horses with carriages going by from time to time. The office recd packages for us and delivered them to our site.

Now for the not-so-good. As beautiful as the grounds are, the design of the RV area is a little quirky. Our back-in site was grass for parking the motorhome (not great when putting down jacks) while the front part of the site was gravel for the tow car. We had a poured concrete patio with a picnic table. We found ourselves wondering why didn't they put more gravel or pour more concrete for the motorhome. It was kind of odd. The other odd thing is the sprinklers. With all that lovely green grass, you know they have to water it. Their sprinkler system is industrial strength and runs every night - specifically 3:47am for 30 minutes. Did I mention it runs every night? The sprinklers spray highly pressurized water at anything and everything. We could hear the water hit our motorhome starting at the back and then working it's way forward along the side. The first night we jumped out of bed to be sure all of our windows were tightly closed. After the second 3:47am awakening, we called the office to see what could be done. They dropped off half-circle pieces of plastic to stick in the grass near the sprinkler heads. They told us to find the sprinkler heads ourselves and did not offer to help. The last quirk was that the park had a significant drop in water pressure for about six hours one morning. Bottom line - we wanted to try something different. We're glad we did but don't think we'd return. We camped at Grand Oaks Resort & Museum in a Motorhome.

Most sites don't have shade, however sites 1 - 12 at entrance of park have some shade and are back ins. Grounds are clean! Staff is very friendly and helpful. Good size dog park back by site 45, two areas one for small, one large, just needs a bench for us dog owners. There is also lots of green area to walk dogs. The laundry room is small, but efficient.
