Beautiful Campground! The roads are paved and easily navigated! Backing in was a bit tight in the loop I was assigned, but the site was plenty big enough. Bring an outdoor rug as the sand/seashell pad you park will get everywhere in the rig! Everything about this place is great except the price increase since my last visit. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Absolutely love this park. Very well kept and clean, we always use the bath house opposed to the shower in our RV. Love the shopping onsite if you need something that was forgotten or last minute. The concrete level pads are great. Very nice park, it is pricey compared to other RV parks but it is Disney :) Tons to do to keep entertained. This is our second visit to Disney in 3 years. This is Disney and everything was in tip top shape. Clean bathrooms, well stocked and maintained laundry area, well stocked and maintained outposts. Our site was surrounded by tall pines, which afforded NO mid-day shade. All utilites worked fine and were well located. Site was long, wide, level and paved. Staff is VERY friendly and go out their way to help. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Too much to do here. We camped from Thursday to Thursday, weather was very hot with a couple of days of thunder storms. Use ground transportation around the campground and use your own vehicle to explore some of the other parks.

We frequent this campground on a regular basis, on the better part of 20 years. We are DVC Members at Disney and for some reason that always seems to throw a wrench in the cogs when it comes to the reception part of our trip. We follow the rules and book accordingly, get all the pre work set.... and ten days before we call to confirm what site area we are interested in. We choose the premium sites and a particular loop... all is said and done and we think all will go well once we arrive.

We arrived a day early but were still staying for almost 3 weeks.... this seemed to confuse the front desk (as always).... because a couple hours earlier my wife was in contact with them as we drove closer. Once we arrived we were told that all the Pre work that was done.... was all for naught. We were told we could not have the loop we requested because there was to be tree trimming on that loop. So, we took the loop next door and observed the loop to see if it really was going to be emptied for the work. We observed at least 5 RVs that never left that loop, yet we were told we could not stay on that loop. As usual, the rules change with who is ever on the clock that day and this truly put a sour taste is our mouths. So much for having a Disney day ???

The campground as a whole is beautiful.... lots of work going on... but only during daylight hours. DO NOT LET THE FRONT DESK CHOOSE your camp site... only YOU know your RV and where you feel comfortable backing into. We did a drive around with RV in tow to see, but because we are here often we kinda know where to go.

I gave the Value a satisfactory because we feel we are treated as 2nd class citizens because we are DVC members... but know that our point are turned into $$$ so it shouldn't matter. Cleanliness was also good but construction was everywhere.

We haven't received our survey from Disney yet... hmm ?? Wonder why?

We will continue to come back in hopes of a flawless camping trip....

always hoping :)

Research the area you are interested in.... and when you get there check all your options before choosing.

Do not be afraid to let them know how you feel.... once we heard that they have a computer choose your site... my comment was "I drive, NOT the computer" and who ever came up with this system, needs to flush it and get more input from campers ..... NOT computers We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed for 4 nights (Mon-Thurs)not our first time. Sites are paved, large, shaded. If you book online, there is nowhere to enter rig size but you can enter this in the note section. We have a big rig, so when we arrived we asked the attendant if the site was easy to get into and she said "no, it says difficult back-in" so we asked for an easy back-in site and she was accommodating. The park had many empty sites when we arrived and during our stay. All sites are back-in, some are difficult if your rig is big. The sites and facilities are clean with bike trails, laundry, pool, dog park, plenty of garbage containers. We had good wifi and tv reception. You do not need to bring a vehicle if you stay on Disney property as the transportation is excellent. Golf cart rental is also available. In fact if you get tired of going to the parks, you can find plenty to do at the campground with horseback riding, campfire programs, Segway tours, swimming, boating, etc. Love staying here! We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

I am combining 2 visits to the campground separated by the 4 day Disney cruise.
We stayed in Ft Wilderness for 5 days before going on the Disney cruise. The park is typically what you would expect from Disney. They try to do a good job but I think that they are getting to big to provide the premium service you would expect to get for the money paid and associate with the Disney name.
We stayed here to prep for a follow up visit with our kids after the cruise. We booked 3 sites a year in advance to ensure that we would have 3 sites together. We were very disappointed with the answers we were getting about site assignment since the campground told us they do not assign a site until the day of arrival and we were worried that we would end up in 3 different loops plus we were renting 2 campers from an outside company and they needed the site numbers to deliver our kids campers. We had to fight tooth and nail to get the 3 sites together and the numbers of those sites. We ended up getting them late and the campers were not set up until around 3 pm.
Other than this problem everything in the campground was great and convienent to the other Disney parks. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

What a wonderful experience! Disney is known for always going above and beyond in everything they do, and that holds true with Fort Wilderness. This campground is by far THE BEST I have ever stayed at, the staff is wonderful, the campground layout is awesome, and there are so many activities that I could return for years to come and still not experience everything. The campsites are very clean and very big! Plenty of parking either at your site or in the overflow parking. I highly recommend renting a golf cart while you are there if you don't own one, it will make your experience that much better! Truly an awesome campground that I will be returning to again and again! We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

The main thing going for this park is that it is Disney. It is kept very clean, but isn't well suited to larger rigs. In order to fit our motorhome into our site, we had to have a vehicle across the road moved out of the way. It was nearly as difficult to leave.

On the plus side, the sites are nicely landscaped with plenty of shade.

There is no Wi-Fi available in the camping area.

The price is frankly outrageous, but again, it is Disney. It is a short walk to the Disney shuttle buses. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a fabulous campground... And a MUST if going to DisneyWorld. Sites are level cement with patios. Sites are large enough for big rigs and truck/tow vehicles. Service is incredible. No need to drive anywhere; Disney provides all the transportation to all the parks. In typical Disney fashion, the campground itself has lots of activities - pool, hot tub, shows, campfires, outdoor movies, clubs, restaurants, bars, stores, water craft (powered and canoe/kayaks), etc. It's very quiet and feels "wilderness" with trees, etc. between sites. Deer and wild turkeys were seen in the area. Trash is picked up multiple times/day. Laundry and restrooms are spread throughout the camp. Lots of walking and biking trails. Golf carts for rent. It's on the lake - Disney provides boats to Magic Kingdom. Everything here is top quality. We did not want to leave! And we'll definitely be back! Truly the best place we've ever stayed! Only complaint - no WIFI. But we were told they've tried to install 2 prior methods - which didn't work due to trees, etc. They are in process of trying a 3rd approach, so there's hope for the future. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed on a Premium site. Our site had the hookups at the front of the site and luckily we have an extension for our power cord as our 35' coach cord could not reach. The water and cable connections also required an extension. We noticed this is not the case at all the sites however, we did not have a choice of the site we were given. Large coaches may have trouble backing in. A place to unhook a toad is limited. Over all, we'll be back. Once on site one does not need a car as shuttles are excellent for getting around all of Disney World. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you have not been to Disney before take time to review all the activities well ahead of time to plan out your stay and find out where each activity is located within a given area. Get the Disney World app and set up a fastpass for each days activity. Be sure to pick up a map at each area. Disney World is expensive and they do things right. Try to visit during off times as things can get very crowded during sometimes of the year.

I honestly was very disappointed with our site and our stay. Having stayed in several Disney resorts over the years, and now owning an RV, I expected the same level of quality and cleanliness previously experienced. Upon arrival our site was not clean, littered with bottle caps, cigarette butts and branches. We were on loop 200 and all sites were crowded and very sandy. WiFi didn't work at all! Meadows pool recently started closing at 8 pm, way too early. Ole Swimming hole was open late, in theory. The pool was closed the entire 7 nights of our stay I was told there was a mechanical issue. That happens so open Meadows later. Kids want to swim!! The common areas and grounds were much nicer than the sites we saw and more up to standards. Nice area to bike ride. Bus transportation was good. Boat transportation varied. Very long waits at times while other resorts were getting prompt boat service. I do like that large families can be accommodated here unlike many Disney resorts...(our group rented two sites however). We were told that other loops have much more space and did not experience the debris we did, but this is where we were placed and were told the park was full. When I voiced my concerns a manager said "give us another chance". I honestly would like to in the hopes that it would be a better experience, as overall there is a nice feel here. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We actually stayed in October 2014 & May 2015, and have a planned stay in December 2016. What can you say, it Disney. I tried this place in 2014 and was hooked from the start. It is quiet, well spaced RV sites. Both times I have stayed there we were in the 800 loop. We rented a golf cart offsite, and have had a great time. Transportation to Magic Kingdom is by boat, and the other parks are by bus. There is a bus system internally in resort that will get you to were ever you wish to go. Gift Shops, Marina, Pools, and Restaurants are all top notch. Went to the shops and picked up a internet router and plugged this into my wireless router in the rv, so everyone had internet. Internet was great speed. TV is cable, and had plenty of channels. We had a premium site both times, and had plenty of room for two golf carts as we had 5 people in our site. Trash pick-up is everyday, so no smell. Bathhouses are spotless. Laundry facility is great with plenty of units. Site are fairly shaded. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.
