Beautiful campground with spacious campsites. It was fun to see other campers decorating their sites with Disney themes. We stayed in the 1100 loop. This is a good location as it is centrally located and there is a shuttle stop right there. You can also walk to the nightly campfire, Chip and Dale sing-a-long and movie. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Stay late in the theme parks. Every park has an incredible fireworks show. It is fun to return to the campground at night from Magic Kingdom on the boat. The shuttles are reliable. We did not use a car.

Overall Rating:

We spent three nights at this very wooded campground. Each campsite is separated by dense foliage giving each site privacy. There was a comfort station in each "loop" that we very conveniently located. The restrooms were very clean. I stuck my head into the showers to inspect also! Also clean. The 'Mickey' wristband prevents outsiders from entry to the comfort station. Ice is available at each comfort station via a credit card actuated machine. Ample small cooler full for $2.00 The campground is very large. We recommend a golf cart to get around. We rented a golf cart to travel between our site and the bus station/boat launch, restaurants and camp stores (we saw two). Plenty of paved roadway for my bicycle rides. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

For those whom do not have a tow vehicle - There is an awesome restaurant (Trails End Restaurant) with buffet including a full bar (Crockett's Tavern) at the boat launch area. This allowed us to stay in the campground for our entire stay. There are two (2) camp stores (trading posts) in the campground and we were able to grab souvenirs and English muffins without leaving the park. The Disney parks are easily accessible by boat or bus so no need to drive your vehicle to the parks.

Had one of the best premium sites in the 700 loop. Little did we know that the "over the top" Christmas display on site # 703 at the beginning of the loop would attract a LOT of golf carts, cars, horse carriages. On one Saturday night we counted over 30 golf carts stopped in the road, stopped in our site and other sites across from the "attraction". I actually got out my emergency triangles and placed at the edge of my site next to the road to keep people from parking on my lot. This was a X-Mas display by people that have camped here for several years. It was a display where you could go in a castle, sit on a sofa and take pictures also had a carriage that you could sit in for photos. I commend the RV'ers that constructed all this but it made their neighbors miserable at night. All this traffic, noise, kids and adults yelling until 11:00 PM. We were able to move after 3 nights to the 600 loop. Way too many golf carts running around plus they allow gas powered carts which is an additional noise problem. This is our first stay at Ft. Wilderness and WILL be the last. If you want to stay at a quite campground, Ft. Wilderness is not your place. Been there done that but not for us. Never again. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Spent 4 nights at Fort Wilderness Campsites. We were in the Premium area - site 504. Campground was full over the weekend, but maybe 2/3 full during the week. Transportation was easy within the Campground and to the Theme Parks. We had good OTA reception and cable was also provided. Cell phones worked fine and there was also WIFI in the Campground. It rained a bunch when we were there, so we did not get out much - but it was fun each evening to walk down to the boat launch and watch the fireworks over the Magic Kingdom. All personnel were super friendly and helpful. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

The park was amazing and clean. Loved the camp stores and that you could rent a golf cart there. Bus transportation to take you anyplace you want to go in the campground as well as to all the Disney parks. I was not impressed with the restaurants at this campground for a Disney property . Looking forward to another visit next year and every year. Everyone I talked to about this campground had only great things to say. This park will spoil you for any other camp..... it is quintessential camping! Well-kept, mature foliage and nice wide roadways, easy for even the largest rigs to manage. Be advised there are *no* pull-through sites there at all, back in only. There's a fab dog park, a nice playground in many of the loops, and if you have non-rv friends, there are cabins, a few sprinkled in the loops. Two large merchandise/grocery stores with typical Disney prices for food and souvenirs. The bath houses are spotless, and quite well appointed. Checkin is a drive through, with overflow parking for cargo trailers, etc. Room on your site for rig plus vehicle. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Fort Wilderness still rates as one of our favorite campgrounds of all time. We had site 521, which was very difficult to back a 40 ft Motorhome into because it was on the bend in the road, I could not imagine trying to get a 5th wheel in. The campground was full and we arrived late afternoon so there wasn't anything else available. A little pricey and keeps getting higher, at some point it may not be worth it if it keeps climbing. We were there during the Christmas Holiday which is why it was so much, but normal rates have climbed significantly as well Still convenient for doing Disney and lots of amenities available. Pay attention to signs and GPS, new roads and construction, new road bypasses Magic Kingdom tollbooths completely. New Walmart nearby. Target nearby too. If you book a longer stay than you need, you can simply shorten your stay during checkin or anytime during your stay without any fees. Price is super high during holidays but worth it for Disney fans like us, convenience and ambiance. Make sure to book site 500 days in advance for the holidays. You can always cancel with no fees. WiFi and T-mobile service worked well. Every loop is dog friendly now. $5 per night for any number of pets. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

This is the fastest check-in procedure we have ever been through. They had everything we needed at the check-in gate, wrist bands, mosquito wipes and a map to the site. The signage was great, no problems finding your loop. We were assigned Loop 1600, the road in the loop was narrow and backing in was a little tough. The site was concrete, lots of trees, all sites are full-hookups. Once set up you never need to move you car. The internal transportation is either by bus, water taxi or monorail. This review is the tale of two extremes.. On one hand you have the site itself. Simply put, it was the worst most expensive site we have ever camped in. Roads in and out of sites are too small, everything is tight, small little brown site markers are easy to hit because you can't see them. You can tell they get bumped regularly. Site is bad too, pad was too small, we fit our 35 foot motorhome but just barely. Connections are weird too; power is located all the way in the back, which makes you either extend your power cable all the way or back into your patio area which some people did. Behind our site downed trees, and mud/swamp area. Last, no fire pit which to me is unacceptable we enjoy having our fire and relaxing at night. Lastly the cable TV connection didn't work, which was very frustrating again when you charge a premium I expect a premium... I was very very disappointed in our site. It was twice the price, for half the site than we had everywhere else this past year. Now the good, the campground itself is amazing. Facilities all very clean, bus service to get around the campground and to the parks. Fantastic buffet in the restaurant. Nice pool area. We watched the magic kingdom fireworks from the dock. Great campground facilities, terrible site. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Bring bikes, the buses are great but take forever to show up. The pool at Wilderness lodge is a quick boat ride away and it's a much nicer pool with bar area so we hung out over there instead of the fort wilderness pool. Watch the fireworks from Magic Kingdom from the dock!

This is a Disney Resort and operated as such. The check in process was a bit of challenge when there was no parking in the overflow lot while waiting for the site to be "ready" after arriving a couple hours early. The interior roads, level sites and facilities are very well maintained. We stayed in the premium loop sites close the ferry that takes you the parks. Keep in mind this was built many years ago when RV's were not as big, so the sites can be difficult to get into. Golf cart rentals were helpful getting around this large resort. The free transit buses transport to all parks & will pick up and drop off inside the campground. This is a big plus and a parking fee savings! Verizon service was excellent. Staff was very helpful with having to depart early because of the hurricane. There is a lot of activities to do just in the campground itself and is a vacation inside a vacation. A very nice and large campground. Many things to do here. The biggest drawback for me was the site. We were near the end of the 1600 loop. Not much privacy. If we return, I will get a premium site, which has a larger concrete pad and a little more room. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Park is packed and crowded, it is loud all the time, round the clock, dogs bark constantly, kids screaming ALL the time, kids running through your site constantly, lots of noise from everything including people camping with loud music. Riding the bus is handy but you have to stand up or sit with some stranger against you (and lots of them smell!), buses are always packed like a sardine can......... It is NOT worth the escalated prices just because it is at Disney. There are a lot of other parks nearby that are better than this one.. Best tip I can offer is; "GO SOMEWHERE ELSE" because this park is way over-priced and not worth what you pay........ The people are loud around the clock, kids are out of control as long as they are there, people turn them loose to do whatever they want to do. We had loud music problems at night and it was hard to get a good nights sleep and peaceful meals and watch tv................... We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

The only reason you would stay here is if you were going to one of the Disney parks. I requested an early check in at noon and got right in. I also asked for a treeless site so the satellite would work which they got me. Get a site away from the main roads or you will hear the buses all the time. My site was in the 600 loop and was good for me. The bus transportation around is busy but you may find yourself waiting 20-30 minutes at every stop.
