Like most Encore parks, this is an RV resort, NOT a campground. Many parks in Florida are designed for the multitude of snowbirds that come down from the cold, frigid north. They don't have very many spaces for transient customers, but that's really to be expected in this part of the country in the winter! We needed a night to fill in our stay at a nearby state park because we couldn't plan far enough in advance. This worked, but just barely. Because of our size, it was a challenge to get into our space. Fortunately for us the site was wide, because the roads in the park are narrow. Not much room to back up a 45' fifth wheel, but we managed. Restrooms were clean, and the park was very tidy. We wouldn't choose to come here again, but because we had an activity planned and needed to stay in the area we were glad it was available for the one day we needed it. - Denise and Glenn

I made reservations for this campground through my Thousand Trails membership, which I shall not renew because this is the kind of campground they feature: closely packed spaces, difficult to navigate, poor site maintenance, but lots of "resort" activities. Nonetheless, snow-birds and retirees seem to love it. They flock down by the thousands to nest in such places for the month or the season or the year. Not me! Ain't my type of place! I visited Florida as a kind of "bucket list" item. Now it's over, and I won't go back. - Jim Fulton

If you're looking for a campground, you'll be disappointed. If you're looking for a convenient location to see the Tampa sites, it's great. The park is clean, restrooms older but well kept. Sites are small and interior roads are very narrow. The employees are very nice and there's usually an activity almost every day. About 75% of the sites are annuals, but they're generally show models and the majority are well kept. - dseipel2
Nov 2018 - $28.00
Friendly personnel, paved sites with a bit of grass and trees, close to others but private, paved roads, laundry sites close by, pool and billiards, group activities available. Close to nice beaches. Grocery store one block away. Greek restaurants! - Bwest
Jan 2019 - $52.00
We stayed at Quail Run four nights. This is an excellent RV resort. The area is well maintained, gated and quite. The older side we were in has gravel parking areas with concrete patios. There we many large live oaks and palm trees. Many of the permanent resident sites had tropical trees, shrubs and flowers planted. The newer side has concrete parking slabs and patios. There are trees there as well, just smaller. The are many leisure opportunities provided and scheduled at the facility. We took advantage of their large library and traded our used books. We enjoyed our stay at Quail Run and would stay here again if in the area. - jwindham

This park has come to our rescue as full time RVers twice in the past 6 years. We stayed 2 months both time for hospital visits and surgery in Tampa for my husband. This time they took us in at the very last moment during the height of the winter season. Although our site was not as nice as the first time we were here, I think it was the only one they had and it was more than adequate. The fact that it was right across from the laundry building and right next to I-75 made it bright and noisy at night. One side of the park is beautifully treed with live oaks & has gravel sites & paved patios. The other is more open & has larger sites fully paved. There is a resident pair of Sand Hill Cranes. A fantastic social coordinator plans activities & dinners where we met many of the very friendly folks who stay here. The park has a pool, a large wonderful library, billiards, ping pong puzzle tables with stacks of puzzles & two social halls for their activities. There are two bathrooms each with a shower. They are always spotless. I highly recommend this friendly park where things are clean and well organized and the office staff friendly and extremely helpful. Their motto is "No Rig Too Big" and from what I've seen, that's true. - Oceannie
Dec 2017 - $60.00
We stayed here for one night while headed to Naples. They were very efficient, and guided us to our spot, which was a convenient end site for our 45' motorhome. We came in a couple of days before Christmas, and were greeted warmly by residents as they held their light parade of decorated golf carts, passing out candy canes and cheer. The atmosphere was welcoming and cheerful. This is a very convenient location for a stopover, and nice enough to enjoy a longer stay. It's well-run, clean, and the residents create a neighborhood feel and include newcomers. I would recommend and we will stay here again. - Dorris H
Sep 2016 - $60.00
Nice park at the end of the long term park model and RV area. Some new sites with most having concrete pads. This Christian campground is open to all and follows a conservative list of activities. We enjoyed the fact we were able to take advantage of 'first time visitors stay free' policy. That was very nice. Call in reservations were good. The pool is a good distance away from the campground. Laundry facilities were adequate though dated. Campers were very friendly and we enjoyed a free Friday night concert. Facilities were good but we would not pay the rate of $60 per night. We camped in a 40' motorhome. - rwarner22

Nasty Place, Stay Away! We never even stayed there because of what happened when we pulled in! We arrived at night and my wife had to use the restroom so I dropped her off and went to check in. Three minutes later she came running up to me and said, "we are leaving, this place is disgusting!" She said the man who lived next to the bathroom, a huge man with no shirt on and a ton of junk in his lot, looked her up and down as she was entering the restroom. Then, while she was in there, she heard him make comments about her nice body to his friends and that he'd like to "do her" (he used a much more explicit term.) I guess there were a bunch of them drinking with this guy and so sex talk started. My poor wife was shaking. While she was being sexually harassed in the bathroom, I had driven around and the place is a DUMP and so we got the heck out of there. Lot's of long timers with junk in the yard, broken down old cars, etc. No pool, narrow lots and in a bad neighborhood. Seriously? HOW this place is listed on Good Sam is beyond me. To make matters worse, we stopped at a 7-11 about a block away to park for a moment to find another RV park to go to. A guy came up to our window and asked what kind of high we were looking for. Stay away...nasty people, nasty place!I wouldn't take children either...I can't imagine what I would have done if that guy had approached my daughter. So if your travel with your wife and kids, find a park without perverts and drunks. - Travelin Mac
Jan 2017 - $29.00
If you're looking for Yogi or KOA, this ain't it. These people live here and work hard and keep to themselves and are polite enough. Our fiver barely fit in our site, next to an even bigger fiver. But the staff is nice enough and it's very convenient to a mall and several other shopping centers. There was a hole on our site when we moved in. We mentioned it to an office worker and there was a guy here with a wheel barrow full of mulch that day. And they were trying to catch the guy who wasn't cleaning up after his dog. A fair price for a convenient stay in season. - melissabrvs
May 2015 - $30.00
I Do Not Recommend this RV park to anyone. First of all it's located in a really sketchy part of Tampa. We were there for 3 months. Our first month, during the daylight hours, we caught 3 local kids stealing one of our bikes, got it back that time, but a week later, they came back and cut the locks off both our bikes and took both of them. These kids continued to come back over and over. Also managing to steal other RVers bikes.
When it first happen, the acting manager said and I quote, "I can't be outside 24/7." Excuse me? Im sorry, but that is the wrong answer to tell your customers who pay quite a bit to stay in your not very attractive RV park. The people who run this place really don't care if anyone steals your stuff. I didn't even get an I'm sorry that happened to you.
This place is not your typical RV park. There are long term residents, its across the street from a family dollar. Its near Busch Gardens and a lot of businesses. Thats about the only thing it has going for it. The bathrooms are ok, however the stall doors are right in your face when you sit down. The laundry room is located in between the bathrooms. 2 out of 4 washers don't work and 2 of 3 dryers do work. There's no pool either. They also charge for electric.
I will never ever stay here again. If you decide to stay, its def going to be at your own risk and don't have any expectations. - Ellie Q
Nov 2017 - $30.00
From the 1st day we came to Big Oaks we were treated like family. They met us at the gate and helped us park our 36' motor home. The owners live onsite and are very friendly along with the manager. We have Sprint cell and had no problems. Wifi is available close to the office and sporadically through the park. Lots of activities. We stayed for 2 months and would return again. - Gordon Banuat
Mar 2017 - $35.00
This is a really nice park. The roads are paved but the sites are grass, all level. The outside rows are shady and the inside rows are sunny. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a pool, laundry and a dog park. We have already planned our next stay. - esta34950
Oct 2016 - $18.00
Many seasonal park models, well kept up, with nice, pull thru grass sites. No problem for my 40' motorhome. Paved roads. Very friendly and helpful owners and manager. Dated, small restrooms but clean, nice laundry facility and pool. Very affordable. Cute signs welcoming you "home." - eventanman
Jan 2010 - $13.00
This was not our best experience with an RV park. The interior roads are narrow, it’s a tight squeeze for a big rig, and some roads dead end so it would be a challenge if you make a wrong turn. The first site we were assigned to had a broken sewer connection so we moved to another site. The second site had a broken water connection but we were able to fix it with a pair of pliers. The site was not level, our back axle was completely off the ground at the first attempt to level. After much work we were able to level with blocks under the tires and jacks. We have never had that much problem leveling anywhere. Our site was sandwiched in on all sides by permanent residences. During the evening, while we were inside the rig, someone drove something through our site, across our outdoor mat under the awning, and broke an item sitting on our mat. Why they rode so close to the rig and through our site is still a mystery, we never saw them, only the tire tracks left in the sand and on our mat. All the sites and homes are so close together it’s difficult to maneuver a vehicle without crossing onto or into another person’s site. The park is almost entirely old mobile homes, travel trailers, park models, etc. with seasonal RV’s scattered throughout and among the permanent residents. Although the park itself is clean, the deterioration and age of the park is evident. Some of the permanent residents commented about management not reinvesting in upgrades to the park. It was never quiet at our site due to constant road noise, daily sirens, and blaring televisions. No Wi-Fi. Good signal with AT&T. Rate reflects Tampa RV Show special to try out the park. If we paid the rates posted on the park’s website I would not have been happy since the park is barely maintained, needs repairs, and could use some upgrades. I could not wait to leave and we will not stay here again. - Full_Timer
Jan 2008 - $25.00
This campground is better than half permanent sites, but they are well cared for and everyone is friendly. We were given a site for a 40 foot motor home and told to go the wrong way on streets to get to the site. When we arrived there was not enough room to back into the site that was angled in the wrong direction. I tried to back in, but wasn't able to. I decided to drive down the street and come back up the right way so I could back in. When I got to the end of the street I wasn't able to make either turn and that's why it was suggested that I go the wrong way. I ended up backing to a place where I could turn around and then backed all the way into the site. This is not to condemn the campground, but to forewarn visitors. There are no tables or grills. It is a nice clean place with reasonable prices to explore the area and we will return. - Juandering
Dec 2014 - $36.00
Stayed at the park all Winter. We liked the area, it was handy to everything that we required. It has very friendly people who come back every year. They have card games, darts, bocce ball, bingo. That's the good part.
The bad parts are: the grass is not mowed unless you say something, and there is a push mower if you want to mow, I didn't come to a "resort" to mow grass, I do that at home! Do not park in the Pulaski Drive area! It is next to a very busy road, and I was always worried that a heavy truck or some auto would come through the hedge and smash into the rv's. Also, Fdot plans to widen the road soon, will be more noise and dust. Also, there are no cement pads for your rv or patio and the sewer access is on the wrong side for rv's my hose was run from one side, under the vehicle to the sewer opening. Wifi, not so good, but you can call Brighthouse and have internet hooked up for a good price.
I will not be back there again, better places to try out. - retiredblade
Jan 2014 - $15.00
This is basically a manufactured home community with spaces for RVs where older models have been pulled out. We were given a patch of grass with a full hook-up very close to a permanent park model. We were so close to the road that when trucks went by, our RV shook! Park is very clean, staff and residents are friendly. Nice pool. No picnic table furnished, but internet was free and strong. - Vernadene
Jan 2016 - $10.00
Managers are great! Many permanent residents - very friendly, but with a wide variety of site neatness. Lots of social activities where even us non-permanents were welcome. WiFi was so bad we had Brighthouse service for the month we were there. Some road noise from SR52, and a machine shop to the east was noisy. Sites are a bit small - our 30' trailer barely fit, and our pickup had to be parked in an odd position to avoid blocking the road. - Neil_and_Sandy
Apr 2018 - $20.00
For short stays they a few spots near the gold course and parking lot for the golf clubhouse and restaurant (look at it on google earth). Spots were hard to get into and some spots we would not have been able to access. An employee helped us get into spot and was very helpful. He did mention that there are other spots if we pay more. The park is a very nice mobile home park some long term RV spots and the small short term area. The area we were in had crumbling patio slabs but lots of shade. Park on the dirt but level. Very quite and well kept park. We didn't spend much time at the park so it was fine but wouldn't really want to be hanging out in these overflow/short term spots. If you will be hanging out at RV ask about booking a site with better patio area. Tow vehicle in clubhouse parking lot next to spot. - CaRoadTripper
Apr 2014 - $26.00
We have been staying at the Silver Dollar for many years, usually in the off season, while visiting family and friends in the area. The price is good compared to the few other parks in the area, but I must say the RV spots are getting more and more run down - broken slabs, weeds, broken tree branches and trash everywhere. On the plus side, the laundry is clean and priced right, nice safe areas for morning/evening walks and it is quiet (on the golf side) especially at night. Don't know if we will be there again, unless they clean the RV area up a bit. - housecar
Jan 2014 - $23.00
Wow, the only thing I can say is this park is not big rig friendly. Tight turning and very short sites make this a challenge to larger campers like our 36 foot travel trailer. You cannot get your rig and tow vehicle on the same site. Our hitch was at the curb of the road and the rear had about 1 foot of space before the electric post. I totally agree with the other review below about noise and how busy it it. More for the permanent homes; RV lots are an afterthought. Seems the RV sites were laid out in the 50s and 60s before folks started buying larger RVs. Would stay here again only if there was nothing else in the area...or maybe not go at all. - clicker
