Oct 2019 - $45.00
Nice and clean. Friendly and courteous staff! The site we had was adequate, grassy area with a concrete slab and picnic table. It had rained the previous days so the ground was soft and muddy. Roads are narrow and a little tight for a motorhome. Quiet in the evening. - Art_Sheila
Mar 2019 - $52.00
Was OK for a few nights. Most of the place is long term residents. Pool area was nice, looked relatively new. Parking pad was grass with a small concrete pad to setup table & chairs. Stipulated that you not park on the pad as the RV weight would break the pad and you'd be responsible for the repairs. This had happened to the spot where we parked, but the pad had NOT been repaired. - ThorHurricane
Jan 2019 - $1.00
Parked in mud. Had to put boards under wheels to get out. Another class A had same problem. I was 6 inches in with parking. Again boards under wheels to get out. Load of gravel would help immensely. Part of trails collection thousand trails. Lot of permanent residents. - Tampajohn
Apr 2018 - $29.00
Got to the park on Sunday and the office was closed. They didn't leave any info for me as to where to park. Called the toll free reservations line and the person helped me figure out where to set up the camper. We had a site near the highway and it was a little noisy. There were a lot of fire ants on the site, had to watch for them, didn't put the outdoor rug down due to that. Pool was very clean, but we didn't have a chance to use it. The rate included a $8/night resort fee. - steveNdonna
Apr 2018 - $1.00
Needed to have toppers replaced by"Stone Vos" located nearby. Campground was recommended by them. I would guess that there are only 6-7 sites for transients. Rest are seasonal/permanent sites. Sandy location. The RV next door (45' w/motorcycle on back) had to be towed out to the street. Friendly folks. - Long Island Mac
Apr 2017 - $40.00
Advertise 55+ but, families with babies lived there. NOT dog friendly, dog's must be leashed at all times no tie outs. If you go inside for a drink, they have to go with you. Marked dog walks are full of fire ants, they won't do any pest control. I know ants are all over FL. Once we had to give the dog Benadryl because the bite was so bad. Others left because management wouldn't cut the grass. We met permanent residents who didn't have a good word for the manager, cares more about money than people. Free wifi only works in clubhouse. You have to pay electric, cable, and wifi in your rv. When it rained, we had to take off shoes & roll up slacks to get from car to rv through the sand flooded drive. - 883piglet
Feb 2019 - $1.00
This is an Encore park, so zero cost for our TT plan. Glad of that as we would be unhappy if the was costing us. Roads all blacktop, but some tight turns. Site numbers start at one and stop a 591. While driving around, I am guessing that there are 30 (??) sites for RV's. Those are all back-ins, and in one area. We are (not in that area) in between a single wide mobile home and the bathrooms & dumpster. Have not visited the bathrooms, but there are folks cleaning every day. I am surprised that many of the permanent residents use the bath house. Just about every mobile home has a carport. Took me 30 minutes to back into my site (with the help of worker and two residents). Very tight to put a 40' into designated site. I carry a second fresh water hose, as the 25' did not make it to the water spicket, shared with another mobile-home. The good news is that the over/air was good (ABC,NBC,CBS). Tampa towers not far. Long term residents can have Spectrum cable hooked up. Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot, beer and liquor stores close. Plenty of restaurants on the main Hwy (Route 19). Route 19 has heavy traffic in the morning and afternoon. Nice pool and club house. Here during an 8 day heat wave, as daily temps above 80, up to 85 and humid. Plenty of 50 amp, as A/C's ran all day. Met many friendly neighbors. Parked car on side of MH, just enough room. - Long Island Mac
Nov 2018 - $28.00
Friendly personnel, paved sites with a bit of grass and trees, close to others but private, paved roads, laundry sites close by, pool and billiards, group activities available. Close to nice beaches. Grocery store one block away. Greek restaurants! - Bwest
Nov 2017 - $10.00
Encore Thousand Trails park stayed on "Trails Collection" offer. Mostly permanent sites but the transient sites are good sites with concrete patio, FHU etc. Beautiful pool and hot tub and rec hall. Very friendly residents from all over the USA and Canada. - Todd Fogelberg
Feb 2014 - $17.00
An OK park, however you better like trains and lots of road noise. The trains run drectly behind the park and blow their load whistle several times. Sites are very short and close together. A 38 motorhome takes up the entire site. Hookups for either power or water on the wrong side. There is a charge for water at $20.00 per 1000 gal. They advertise free Wi-Fi. You get what you pay for. While here for 3 months it was out 90% of the time. Strange there is only one shower and two bathrooms for a park this size. Mostly permanent 5th wheels that stay here year round. Many in need of replacement. I enjoy swimming and this place has an excellent huge heated pool as well as a jacuzzi. There are much better parks in the area so I would not stay here again. The rate reflects the daily rate for three months. - philipclalle
Aug 2019 - $66.00
This is a very clean, well maintained campground off the beaten path. It is close to the interstate but sits between 2 exits. The road coming in is not exactly big rig friendly. We tried to duck a lot of low branches. Most of the sites are owners/long terms. We have been here 2 times and each time we were on the same pull through. Most of the residents were friendly although well over have of the sites were closed up. This is a good stop over for us when we are heading home. - Michael47
Jul 2019 - $70.00
A very large campground, located near 30 minutes or less to major attractions, Bush Gardens, Zoo Tampa, etc. The site we has was top notch, cement, level, all utilities were very well located...Our only problem was a feeling that our 3 grand kids were really not welcome...On arrival we were not given the code for the game room, office staff was NOT helpful. - ANDYO1
Jan 2019 - $52.00
We stayed at Quail Run four nights. This is an excellent RV resort. The area is well maintained, gated and quite. The older side we were in has gravel parking areas with concrete patios. There we many large live oaks and palm trees. Many of the permanent resident sites had tropical trees, shrubs and flowers planted. The newer side has concrete parking slabs and patios. There are trees there as well, just smaller. The are many leisure opportunities provided and scheduled at the facility. We took advantage of their large library and traded our used books. We enjoyed our stay at Quail Run and would stay here again if in the area. - jwindham
Sep 2016 - $60.00
Nice park at the end of the long term park model and RV area. Some new sites with most having concrete pads. This Christian campground is open to all and follows a conservative list of activities. We enjoyed the fact we were able to take advantage of 'first time visitors stay free' policy. That was very nice. Call in reservations were good. The pool is a good distance away from the campground. Laundry facilities were adequate though dated. Campers were very friendly and we enjoyed a free Friday night concert. Facilities were good but we would not pay the rate of $60 per night. We camped in a 40' motorhome. - rwarner22
Oct 2017 - $35.00
Nasty Place, Stay Away! We never even stayed there because of what happened when we pulled in! We arrived at night and my wife had to use the restroom so I dropped her off and went to check in. Three minutes later she came running up to me and said, "we are leaving, this place is disgusting!" She said the man who lived next to the bathroom, a huge man with no shirt on and a ton of junk in his lot, looked her up and down as she was entering the restroom. Then, while she was in there, she heard him make comments about her nice body to his friends and that he'd like to "do her" (he used a much more explicit term.) I guess there were a bunch of them drinking with this guy and so sex talk started. My poor wife was shaking. While she was being sexually harassed in the bathroom, I had driven around and the place is a DUMP and so we got the heck out of there. Lot's of long timers with junk in the yard, broken down old cars, etc. No pool, narrow lots and in a bad neighborhood. Seriously? HOW this place is listed on Good Sam is beyond me. To make matters worse, we stopped at a 7-11 about a block away to park for a moment to find another RV park to go to. A guy came up to our window and asked what kind of high we were looking for. Stay away...nasty people, nasty place!I wouldn't take children either...I can't imagine what I would have done if that guy had approached my daughter. So if your travel with your wife and kids, find a park without perverts and drunks. - Travelin Mac
Jan 2017 - $29.00
If you're looking for Yogi or KOA, this ain't it. These people live here and work hard and keep to themselves and are polite enough. Our fiver barely fit in our site, next to an even bigger fiver. But the staff is nice enough and it's very convenient to a mall and several other shopping centers. There was a hole on our site when we moved in. We mentioned it to an office worker and there was a guy here with a wheel barrow full of mulch that day. And they were trying to catch the guy who wasn't cleaning up after his dog. A fair price for a convenient stay in season. - melissabrvs
May 2015 - $30.00
I Do Not Recommend this RV park to anyone. First of all it's located in a really sketchy part of Tampa. We were there for 3 months. Our first month, during the daylight hours, we caught 3 local kids stealing one of our bikes, got it back that time, but a week later, they came back and cut the locks off both our bikes and took both of them. These kids continued to come back over and over. Also managing to steal other RVers bikes.
When it first happen, the acting manager said and I quote, "I can't be outside 24/7." Excuse me? Im sorry, but that is the wrong answer to tell your customers who pay quite a bit to stay in your not very attractive RV park. The people who run this place really don't care if anyone steals your stuff. I didn't even get an I'm sorry that happened to you.
This place is not your typical RV park. There are long term residents, its across the street from a family dollar. Its near Busch Gardens and a lot of businesses. Thats about the only thing it has going for it. The bathrooms are ok, however the stall doors are right in your face when you sit down. The laundry room is located in between the bathrooms. 2 out of 4 washers don't work and 2 of 3 dryers do work. There's no pool either. They also charge for electric.
I will never ever stay here again. If you decide to stay, its def going to be at your own risk and don't have any expectations. - Ellie Q
Apr 2019 - $40.00
The staff and other campers are very friendly. The campground is not too big but is still a nice walk to do with our dog. There is a horse farm next door and they are lovely to see. We have been in site 38 twice. It is at the end of a row so there is only a neighbor on one side. The campground is easy to access from the highway and the campsites are also easy to access. We definitely will stay here again. - dacmbc
Nov 2017 - $30.00
From the 1st day we came to Big Oaks we were treated like family. They met us at the gate and helped us park our 36' motor home. The owners live onsite and are very friendly along with the manager. We have Sprint cell and had no problems. Wifi is available close to the office and sporadically through the park. Lots of activities. We stayed for 2 months and would return again. - Gordon Banuat
Mar 2017 - $35.00
This is a really nice park. The roads are paved but the sites are grass, all level. The outside rows are shady and the inside rows are sunny. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a pool, laundry and a dog park. We have already planned our next stay. - esta34950
Jan 2010 - $13.00
This was not our best experience with an RV park. The interior roads are narrow, it’s a tight squeeze for a big rig, and some roads dead end so it would be a challenge if you make a wrong turn. The first site we were assigned to had a broken sewer connection so we moved to another site. The second site had a broken water connection but we were able to fix it with a pair of pliers. The site was not level, our back axle was completely off the ground at the first attempt to level. After much work we were able to level with blocks under the tires and jacks. We have never had that much problem leveling anywhere. Our site was sandwiched in on all sides by permanent residences. During the evening, while we were inside the rig, someone drove something through our site, across our outdoor mat under the awning, and broke an item sitting on our mat. Why they rode so close to the rig and through our site is still a mystery, we never saw them, only the tire tracks left in the sand and on our mat. All the sites and homes are so close together it’s difficult to maneuver a vehicle without crossing onto or into another person’s site. The park is almost entirely old mobile homes, travel trailers, park models, etc. with seasonal RV’s scattered throughout and among the permanent residents. Although the park itself is clean, the deterioration and age of the park is evident. Some of the permanent residents commented about management not reinvesting in upgrades to the park. It was never quiet at our site due to constant road noise, daily sirens, and blaring televisions. No Wi-Fi. Good signal with AT&T. Rate reflects Tampa RV Show special to try out the park. If we paid the rates posted on the park’s website I would not have been happy since the park is barely maintained, needs repairs, and could use some upgrades. I could not wait to leave and we will not stay here again. - Full_Timer
Jan 2008 - $25.00
This campground is better than half permanent sites, but they are well cared for and everyone is friendly. We were given a site for a 40 foot motor home and told to go the wrong way on streets to get to the site. When we arrived there was not enough room to back into the site that was angled in the wrong direction. I tried to back in, but wasn't able to. I decided to drive down the street and come back up the right way so I could back in. When I got to the end of the street I wasn't able to make either turn and that's why it was suggested that I go the wrong way. I ended up backing to a place where I could turn around and then backed all the way into the site. This is not to condemn the campground, but to forewarn visitors. There are no tables or grills. It is a nice clean place with reasonable prices to explore the area and we will return. - Juandering
Dec 2014 - $36.00
Stayed at the park all Winter. We liked the area, it was handy to everything that we required. It has very friendly people who come back every year. They have card games, darts, bocce ball, bingo. That's the good part.
The bad parts are: the grass is not mowed unless you say something, and there is a push mower if you want to mow, I didn't come to a "resort" to mow grass, I do that at home! Do not park in the Pulaski Drive area! It is next to a very busy road, and I was always worried that a heavy truck or some auto would come through the hedge and smash into the rv's. Also, Fdot plans to widen the road soon, will be more noise and dust. Also, there are no cement pads for your rv or patio and the sewer access is on the wrong side for rv's my hose was run from one side, under the vehicle to the sewer opening. Wifi, not so good, but you can call Brighthouse and have internet hooked up for a good price.
I will not be back there again, better places to try out. - retiredblade
Jan 2014 - $15.00
This is basically a manufactured home community with spaces for RVs where older models have been pulled out. We were given a patch of grass with a full hook-up very close to a permanent park model. We were so close to the road that when trucks went by, our RV shook! Park is very clean, staff and residents are friendly. Nice pool. No picnic table furnished, but internet was free and strong. - Vernadene
