Dec 2015 - $50.00
To call this place an old rundown trailer park would not be fair. To say it's a quaint park reminiscent of days gone by would be an overstatement. The location is it selling point. Minutes from the docks yet in a quiet part of town. It's on the water and by the looks of it there are boat docks available. If you're planning a night or two in Tarpon Springs to do the tourist thing this is a good place so long as you keep your expectations to a minimum. - plove

I agree completely with the previous review. This is a convenient CG for visiting the Sponge Docks and we enjoyed our walks into town. The CG contains mainly park models and there are probably 5-6 overnight spots. The sites are rock gravel, level, and have full hook-up in the rear (pretty sure I saw 50amp. Call ahead to make sure). There is a narrow cement slab for your chairs. I backed our 21' TT in easily but another larger trailer was not able to fit and left the CG. My best guess is that RVs 28'-30' will fit. Site was too narrow to open the awning fully. Owner was very friendly as were many of the guests. Laundry room had big front loading washers and dryers. We would definitely return. - Traveler_2011
Jan 2010 - $35.00
Don’t come here looking for a full-service resort. What you get is primarily a park-model situation with only a few really small transient spots. There’s no CATV but the amplified antenna pulls in 30 HDTV digital channels. The owner says there’s no Wi-Fi, but we received someone’s net quite well. Although we didn’t require it, he also advertised a restroom, shower and a 3-machine laundry. The really nice part is that you’re only a 10-minute walk from the Sponge Dock, an historical Greek village with lots of history. The restaurants serve beautifully done Greek food and the shops concentrate on sponge, hand-made soap and touristy stuff. The transient sites were great for our 30-footer, but a big rig would never fit. Be sure to reserve, as we saw another couple get turned away. Also, arrive with cash: they don’t accept credit cards. Could be considered a bit road-noisy, but it’s your choice: $ 100 for the KOA 10 miles down SR 19 or 35 bucks a night right here in town. - ebdavis

Sep 2015 - $19.00
We stayed there in 2015 from January to May, we are already reserved for
2015-2016 winter season. Very nice park, many amenities including park activities. The park manager cannot be duplicated! He busted his self to accommodate all campers. This is 55+ campground no swimming pool but many other activities. - fulltimerb
Feb 2014 - $35.00
Nice park seems OK, nice pool and hot tub. Entertainment was OK, but the better acts you have to pay for. Golfing is expensive and it's hard to get tee times. - basscat
Jan 2014 - $36.00
We stayed for a couple of months so the nightly rate was much lower. Campground is nice. Onsite managers are fantastic. Always around and always willing to help in any way they can. Sites are fair sized. They do run activities in the winter that are nice but a lot of them are held outside in a pavilion.......fine if the weather is nice. They do have a small hall for some things like bingo, small groups. There is no rec. hall to speak of. The one pool table in the pavilion is in pretty tough shape. The biggest deterrent for us was the constant trains. They all blow there whistle at the numerous crossroads and many stop and back up to unhook cars as necessary.....again blowing the horns constantly. With that being said, if your the type of person that can tone out the trains this could be an enjoyable place to stay. For us it was not and we will not return. - BlueBoy

Encore Thousand Trails park stayed on "Trails Collection" offer. Mostly permanent sites but the transient sites are good sites with concrete patio, FHU etc. Beautiful pool and hot tub and rec hall. Very friendly residents from all over the USA and Canada. - Todd Fogelberg
Feb 2014 - $17.00
An OK park, however you better like trains and lots of road noise. The trains run drectly behind the park and blow their load whistle several times. Sites are very short and close together. A 38 motorhome takes up the entire site. Hookups for either power or water on the wrong side. There is a charge for water at $20.00 per 1000 gal. They advertise free Wi-Fi. You get what you pay for. While here for 3 months it was out 90% of the time. Strange there is only one shower and two bathrooms for a park this size. Mostly permanent 5th wheels that stay here year round. Many in need of replacement. I enjoy swimming and this place has an excellent huge heated pool as well as a jacuzzi. There are much better parks in the area so I would not stay here again. The rate reflects the daily rate for three months. - philipclalle

Jan 2017 - $28.00
We've spent 2 winters (Jan.1st- May 1st) at Fay's so I guess that says we like it! The operator and her son are old school straight shooters with no surprises. Nice rustic Florida setting. Reasonable rates. Pasco county park only 1 mile away with beautiful beaches. In a 20-mile radius: Ruth Eckerdt Hall, Greek center of Tarpon Springs, Tampa Bay Downs Racetrack, and anything in between! We would recommend Fay's to anyone looking for a no-frills affordable RV park. This website made us put a dollar amount per night, but we paid monthly so the day rate is approximate.

Oct 2016 - $23.00
This was our second stay here. It is a small no frills park with dirt roads and spaces. The spaces are level, but no picnic tables or fire rings. Water pressure and electric hook up were all good. The owner is very nice and the people we met there were very friendly. - esta34950
Mar 2015 - $18.00
This is an old RV park (looks like 1970's) at the end of a dead end road. Our site only took a little bit to get level. Passport America book lists them as having multiple electric options (15, 30, 50), but our site is only 50 amp. We are wedged in next to the office and there is lots of overbrush - nothing pretty about this park. Supposed to have wifi, but it's locked and office staff never offered the password. When we first pulled in, two staffers came outside and acted like we weren't expected, even though we called ahead nine days ago. Cash or check only, which wasn't disclosed ahead of time. We will not stay here again. - dmnm04

Jul 2018 - $57.00
We were visiting family in the area and found this location very convenient. We were in a 43 Ft Motorhome and had no problem backing into our site (110) although it is a little tight in other areas. We did not use restrooms. There is a dog park which we also did not use. They have a large park like setting on the river with lawn chairs, fire pit, and boat docks. It was a very nice area with good breeze off the water. Friendly staff. - Snomads
Jan 2018 - $70.00
Believe it or not, but there was a rooster as one of the pets in the park. You will be most unhappy when it crows at 5am and the whole day. The bleeding hearts feed it and the owner will do nothing. You will quickly hate your visit here. The drives are small with tight turns. I hate excuses and we got a whopper here. - DustyBob
Apr 2017 - $85.00
This is a fairly well maintained campground, but the staff was not overly helpful at check in. Interior roads are asphalt and big rig access was fair. Our site was fairly spacious, we had space for our towed, plenty of shade trees, and a picnic table, however we had no privacy at all. The pull in pad was gravel and level, and we had a lovely view over the picnic area to the river, it was quiet with no road noise. The campground is very mixed with old junky mobile homes and full time RV's. Bathrooms were old and outdated but clean, I did not use the laundry. Pet friendly we saw lots of dogs here, and doggie bags are provided. Wifi was fine as was AT&T. We would stay here again, but only if we could get sites 208/209/210, which had more space, a lovely view of the river and felt less claustrophobic than the rest of the tightly packed campground, also there was no convenient place to hook up our towed. We felt the campground was too expensive for what it offered. - tobyjug

Feb 2018 - $20.00
PA rate. Everyone we encountered was friendly; staff, maintenance, and residents. Park roads are narrow. A 5th wheel longer than 40' will have a tough time on the turns. IMO, the best way to park to register at the office is to turn right after the stop sign and park. That road is wider and you'll have an easier time getting to the transient sites. Don't forget to get your gate card. Transient sites appear to surround the park's water treatment plant. Also close to the nice fenced-in dog park. The narrow roads of this park seem to be the norm at Sun Resorts in Fla as are back-in sites. I can think of no reason I would return to the Dade City area. If I do, I might come here again. - TH travelers
Apr 2016 - $10.00
This park is very comfortable and the people are VERY friendly! I got a travel trailer when I got relocated for a job, and I like it so much here, I ended up getting a park model for when my wife arrived! The park manager is simply the best and everyone is here to do whatever they can to help you! Plenty of activities go on here, so you can be as active as you want to be! Lot spacing is spacious. - Robert Kinder
Jan 2013 - $20.00
This was a return visit because it is fairly comfortable and a good rate with PA. Wi-fi with Tengo worked really well this time. Safe park, gated in a pleasant rural setting. The ladies in the office are wonderful. - Snooker2

Nice campground. Close to beach and restaurants. Camp hosts were great. Friendly residents and workers. Walking/biking path across street. Rate reflects PA rate. - Sleeps Two
Mar 2014 - $30.00
Nice enough place, but very tight. If you stop here try to not park by the fence directly adjacent to Route 19A. We had traffic about 20 feet from our heads in bed which was not nice when bars close and bikers are out. I thought we'd get used to it but did not. Good enough social scene and nice folks. Warm pool. Rate reflects $212 spent for a week's stay. - KED1950
Nov 2013 - $31.00
Older park with many permanents. Staff very friendly as are the residents. Made friends instantly. Only complaint was the internet. We were warned (by the host connection) that we can use the net, but sparingly. It is Wi-Fi, but very slow and you are told that if you go past a point where you used up so many bytes, you are knocked offline. That did not happen to us, but it still bothered me since I had no way to access the system to see how much I had used. Reminded me of high speed when it first came out. "Ok, we have high speed and if you don't use it, the system will be faster." - Ted Morgen

We really enjoyed our stay here. The park is right next to The Pinellas Trail where you can walk, run or bike ride for forever (93 miles!) We rode our bikes to Honeymoon Island state park. Beautiful! There are about 6-7 restaurants just a few blocks away. The RV Park is very well run. Clean bathrooms, nice laundry room and a nice pool. The people we met were very friendly. They constantly keep up with the place. Tarpon Springs is nearby and it's only 20 minutes to Clearwater Beach. We paid $1100 for 5 weeks, off-season. - GPSunny
Dec 2017 - $45.00
We waited to do the review because this was our first experience. Now with comparisons we can state the staff was great, the park was clean and everyone was helpful. The park appears to have more full time residents than campers, however it was located in a good area for our needs. I recommend if you are staying in the area. - The crusty luddite
Dec 2017 - $45.00
This place is owned and operated by a hardworking young man and his sweet wife. Both of them were extremely accommodating. They went out of their way to help us with everything from recommending a yoga class to a rather silly and unusual favor involving our dog. :) Caladesi is clean and well-maintained. It has a fantastic location, just a block away from the Pinellas Trail and lots of cute shops and restaurants. That's super convenient because I was able to explore on my own when my husband was on the golf course. And the tenants and campers were very warm and friendly. One man introduced himself when we arrived and another lady offered to drive me to the yoga class. We got to socialize with even more of them during the free coffee and donuts event each Thursday morning. We haven't been to this area of Florida in more than ten years, but we had such a fantastic experience at Caladesi RV that we plan to return there in a month or two. We can't wait. We prefer to stay at a small and warm family-owned campground rather than the stuffy, corporate type so common these days. - prairie4peace
