This is a VERY nice campground near the gulf beach. It also has boat access to the gulf. There is always something going on. There is a very nice pool area and many amenities. Also very nice restrooms. I just wish staff was nicer to 1000 trails/Encore members. Often treated like we are mooching because we don't pay at the gate. Do they think the membership is free? Otherwise, this is an extremely nice park. Look at the map ahead of time and call to request a specific site. - Teacherteacher
Sep 2018 - $1.00
Mail in and out is acceptable as well as packages. There is an activity director here for the kids and big kids too! Most sites have boats. This is a big fishing area. Some sites have cement parking and picnic area some just the picnic area. There is a small exercise room that is very clean with a few free weights. - Barbara Walker

This has the makings of a great campground. But it's not. It's a mess really. Everyone has boats, golf carts and big trucks. So while the sites are decent size, there are all these vehicles, boats, and boat trailers stuffed in every single nook and cranny in the place. The roads are thin and lined with trees and ponds. So when someone leaves their big pickup truck sticking a foot or so into the road, you can't get by towing your trailer. It's a disaster. Boats and boat trailers sticking out everywhere. The roads are all one way, going one way, so it appears that you can't get anywhere without going the wrong way down a one way street. It's very hard to get in and out with just the pickup truck. Getting around towing is very difficult. And the whole thing floods. We came after a couple of days of rain, and our entire site was flooded out. We couldn't even get to our fire ring. We had to wade through water to get to the power and water/sewer hookups. At least we had a patio, so there was a little usable dry space on the site. The water was right up to the patio. There were frogs and hundreds of tadpoles in our little swamp. Our site actually appeared to be one of the better ones. The sewer hookup is so far in front of the rest of the hookups that I had to go to Walmart a buy a second 10' extension even though I have a full size hose and an extension already. Now the good. It's really a nice place. The location is fabulous. 4 miles from a decent gulf beach. Near all the crystal river attractions. Very nice pool. It appears they try to keep, the place looking good. They staff is very nice and friendly. They have a cool little ice cream shack. If you're a boater, they have a large number of water front sites with boat docks. So it has the making of a great place. But right now it's a real mess. I wouldn't come back here. I'm giving it a 5 out of 10 rating because of the potential and the location. - Brad K

Was in site 411 a pull thru. Lots of room for truck trailer, car and boat. Pool was great. Real close to boat ramps. Summer so less than half full. In winter no Passport America pricing and the place is always full. Great cable and wifi. Only two comfort stations with showers in camping area, but I don't use them very often. Great quiet campground with big sites. - sammy the lot boy
May 2018 - $14.00
This is one of the nicest parks we've stayed in - very roomy sites and everything worked great including the wifi. A nice pool and hot tub! Roads are a bit tight in places but we have 33' trailer with no problems. The staff was exceptional working with us to stay extra days. Close enough to shopping, etc., but far away enough to be quiet. One day a tortoise came toddling through our spot! Sites are quite varied from deep in a wooded area to uncovered - seems there are many full-timers but rules are enforced so it's a lovely place to stay. - Catsinatrailer

Very clean, large park. We loved it! Lots of good dog walking. It was a gorgeous large park, lots of peace and quiet, trees and shade with large sites and a pool. We gave it an A and two thumbs up. - H42 Sailing

We have stayed at this campground for the past two winters. The campground is now under new management and the owners are doing much needed upgrades. Close to three rivers leading to the Gulf of Mexico. The fresh spring fed rivers are home to the manatees during the winter months, and there are many local businesses catering to the visitors. - heartlandks

Poor site, no electricity or Wifi, run down old park models, narrow roads with major concrete damage, confederate flags-- We should have read more reviews before picking this RV park. There is a large number of permanent run-down sites with obviously no standards for upkeep. Our site had recently been dug up for replacement of wiring/cable and had not been leveled off. It had a 4' wide hole, piles of dirt, wiring scrap on it, and a water faucet bent almost to ground. We asked if we could change to a much better site beside us, and were told it was rented. First night we found out when our electricity went out, that, yes, that site had been rented but the RVer left because he was fed up with the power problems that had been occurring for several weeks. As I sit writing this review, our power has been out for 4-5 hours. We absolutely need power to run my husband's breathing machine. The internet is also out. Roads are narrow and in places are missing four foot wide areas of concrete. The new owner, Sun, did great work in Sarasota with Sun 'n Fun, but has a long way to go to bring this campground into the 21st century. - zephyreeze
Mar 2018 - $52.00
We have stayed here about 4 times. It is under new management, Sun Resorts. They are in the process of upgrading electrical boxes. The manager told me of the coming improvements....but they are charging "Resort" rates now. No Passport America honored during tourist season, no surprise there. But every time previously during the season we paid PA rates. There are many "tired" units here. They do look like they have put in some concrete pads for "6 month guests"....but only if you sign up for 2 years. The pool area still the same, nice. This is NOT a Resort! The manager stated, it is a Resort. I laughed and said, I am a zebra....but you can plainly see i'm not. I am voting with my wallet and will not return! Folks seem pleasant. - MizB450

This large, clean, well-maintained park has a lot of seasonal and permanent residents in park models. Everyone is friendly and courteous. The staff is welcoming and very responsive. Our damaged picnic table was being replaced before I returned from reporting it at the office. Our site was wide enough for our awning and room to walk around. We backed up to the managers house, and the low area to the rear of our site flooded with water (we had occasional rain bands from Hurricane Harvey), but never impacted our rig. The laundry is huge, and immaculate. It is also a public laundry for the area, but there were plenty of machines to spare. Unlike most places we camp, this campground collects recycling. The campground is very convenient to old Homosassa Springs, where we went out on a scalloping charter, and the State Park with Florida native species and a hippo (you have to visit to get the story). There is a post office just down the road. This part of Homosassa is quiet, and feels like "old" Florida with old trees draped in moss. A few miles away is the typical bustling Florida town with strip malls, huge grocery stores, and any other kind of store you might need. Crystal River, known for manatee tours and pretty in its own right, is just up the road. There are no beaches along this part of the coast, but there is a nice public park/beach in the fresh water of Crystal River. Swimming in the part of the Florida coast is in glorious fresh water springs. - ShoreXplorers

We were looking for a place to stay on weekends when we come to ride the Withlacoochee bike trail and thought that this was a great location. I was shocked to pull into our site (202) and find a huge political banner displayed in the site next door (looked to be a long term camper). It is too bad the the owners of this campground do not have a policy prohibiting such behavior. Very unwelcoming - a real turn-off. - Deb and Chris

Check in was a breeze with friendly assistance. We were here for a month, so that reflects our daily price. We were given one of the nicest sites in the park. Pull through with ample space for coach and car. Corner lot with lots of landscaping for privacy. Lots are on an angle so neighbors next to us were behind us which kept that side private as well. Husband used private showers and gave them a 10. A plus was the ice machine (hotel type) that produced a lot of ice. We have stayed in another park in the area, but will definitely come back to this one. - beach walker

Jan 2019 - $50.00
Traveled from Mayport Naval Station (Jacksonville). Arrived at 3:30 PM. Trip had much road construction on the way. Should be a nice ride when all completed. Checked in, paid the balance. Only received a high-lighted map. No rules or info about things happening. She was busy on the phone with a person needing info on boat rentals. No one assisted in finding the site. Some very tight turns, missing large oak trees. Drove around for 20 minutes, finding the site, after a few circles. (Previously infantry and was noted as excellent map reader) Pull-thru's, close to neighbors, Just fit my 40 footer. Was told that this area of camp is fairly new, with small trees planted. Front tires almost in the air to level. Backed up as much as I could, still big drop from step to ground. Gravel site with cement area for patio. El cable just made the box. Large campground, with some permanent sites. All appear to be close. Cable TV had 60 channels, good reception on all. Did not use WiFi, as told was spotty. Shower in MH, late morning Saturday, water pressure low. Many campers had brought fire rings, as none at sites. There are many Campgrounds in the area. The area of Homosassa Springs and near-by Crystal River, brings many snow birds. There was a Manatee Festival In Crystal Springs during our short stay, but didnt go. - Long Island Mac
Apr 2018 - $50.00
This is a big park with lots of permanent campers. The free Wi-fi is very hit and miss, cable tv works fine. The bathhouse is cleaned but the shower curtains are dirty and moldy as are the shower stall walls. There is a big lack of communication between the office workers and the campers. NONE of the rules are enforced in this park and if you are staying over a weekend be prepared for party central! Weekday nights are a lot better. Dogs run free and nothing is done even when they attack other dogs! Stayed here 6 weeks, wouldn't stay again. - Dfly19
Dec 2017 - $50.00
Check in was very cold. We were excited for a great weekend with Family and Friends. 3 Sites and 2 chalets booked. Sites were less than adequate, very tight and muddy. Roads were unkept and full of ruts. As many parks in Florida this Park seemed to be full of seasonals who were very friendly and welcoming. They could teach the front desk a lesson in customer service. Many trees however there was a newer looking section with great looking sites. Boat rental went smooth, Manatees were plentiful. - SomedayCame727
