Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed six nights in a 40 foot fifth wheel. We were in a VERY deep site. Hook up was all the way to the rear. We needed 30 feet of sewer and water hose. First, remember this is a huge park and it is a music event center. We like to walk so that wasn't a problem but many bring carts; I believe they rent them at the office. There are over 800 numbered spots with varying levels of connection from primitive to 50 amp FHU. This review focuses on big rigs. Hidden Woods and Spook trail may be challenging to park a large rig, ours is 22000 pounds without sinking in the sand...you better have 4WD. Even so, we did get stuck and required an assist from park staff with a back hoe. Spook trail sites are very generously sized, very deep, and the most peaceful FHU sites in the park. If you back in, your door side has shade most of the day. Our campsite had no grill, picnic table, or fire ring. Fires are allowed and you just burn on the ground...that is a bit concerning as you don't know what was left but those who camped in front of you. Also, don't expect people to park their rigs in a nice orderly way...if it fits, they park it the way they want. The park has extraordinary equestrian facilities including corrals that are associated with your campsite and a stable. Very nice if that is your thing. The ice cream shop is permanently closed; the cafe and music hall food was pretty good and we were here for St Patty's Day with some great corned beef and cabbage. The camp store is fine for ice and liquid refreshments but you need to get groceries before you arrive. They seem to have some sort of musical entertainment every weekend. If you want to stay during a festival, you will need reservations well in advance. They do try to stay family friendly. However, some events are likely more appropriate for grownups. The park is older and the bath houses are showing their age. For events, there are Port-a-Potties all over. Groceries first. Use canoe outfitter and get out on the river. We camped at Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

If you want to "camp the real Florida", there are hundreds of better maintained state parks, than this establishment. I have never seen so many cigarette butts, empty cigarette packs, and overall trash at a campground in a very long time, until I came here. the pool is vert small, and frequently closed for various reasons. The sites are tightly packed. Cable coax present, but not functional. The food at the restaurant is disgusting. The breakfast buffet (all 6 pans) had powdered eggs, burnt biscuits, slimy watermelon (covered in flies), and a few items I couldn't tell what they were. We were told dinner was going to be "some sort of pasta in brown sauce". If you want to be nearly run over by children racing around on golf carts (not even trying to obey posted speed and direction signs), or drunk adults blasting Hank Jr. from the same jacked up carts, this campground is for you. We stayed due to having a free 3 day/2 night coupon from an RV show. I would not pay money to stay here. We camped at Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Our particular lot had litter scattered around. Cigarette butts and beer caps were very present. Had cable hook up but wasn't working. I stopped a staffer in a golf cart asking about the service. Assured me someone would check. Had to check at office myself. Flies were overwhelming. Lot was shady but difficult to find. For the money-back not worth the stay. We went for both the entertainment and camping. This is about the 8th time we've been there. Don't count on the cable TV to work well but we don't camp to watch TV. Weekend entertainment is always good as is dinner in their restaurant. Plenty of places to walk and congregate with friends. The dirt campsites can get sloppy in the rain but it's nice being in the rustic outdoors during the good Florida weather. We will definitely return, especially for the Elvis competitions in the Winter. Suwannee isn't fancy but we love it. We camped at Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Shopping is about 5 miles away, 3.5 miles from I-10. The camp store is well stocked with essentials, beer and wine. On weekends families are active into the night with parties and having fun outside their campers. Friday and Saturday nights are entertainment nights in the music hall. Boaters can launch in the Suwannee River but there is a ramp fee. Equestrians have an area and campsites for themselves away from the Loop area. A good campground for a long weekend.

Love the rates that include a golf cart! Staff is friendly and helpful but they don't enforce restriction on underage golf cart drivers. We also like the onsite restaurant. We camped at Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Camping during a music festival -- Hulaween. It costs more during events. Non-event rates run around $30-35 a night. I've been coming to this park for 20 years, mostly for festivals, but have also camped on a non-event weekend. It was very different be here without all the people and music, but we were able to swim in the river without a lot of folks around. Highly recommended. Whether during a festival or otherwise, the park's natural beauty offers something for everyone. We camped at Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The country store has all the items you may have forgotten to pack. They have essentials such as toilet paper and paper towels, toothpaste, food items, beverages, etc. The cafe at the music hall offers meals for the times you don't want to cook. There is a seasonal pool, which I've never used, but it does look inviting.

Great park for music lovers. Venues throughout the park plus an amphitheater for name talent shows. A wonderful restaurant where the food is actually very good and on Karaoke night the locals gave us all a rare treat. We camped at Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

We have stayed here any times for many different events. It is one of our favorite places to camp. Everyone is always friendly and welcoming. There are however a few negatives, there is no 50 amp service in the loop, the TV cable reception is very poor on a lot of the sites, and parts of the park could use a face lift. We will continue going back, especially for events. We camped at Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Spent 2 nights here in order to see their annual drive-thru Christmas Light show, it was very nice. This campground has a lot of activities to offer thru out the year. It was easy to maneuver thru park and into site, most are back-in. The utilities are properly located and in good condition. My site was very level as are most, it had a picnic table, no fire ring, no concrete pads. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. They have a large indoor theater where they serve drinks and full menu meals. We camped at Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

I walked around the park and noticed that a number of the sites had tree limbs that were dead and hanging out over the site rv parking space. You might want to adjust how you park or request another site.

We stayed as a one night stop. Staff was friendly. It was confusing to figure out our site-it looked like it was part of a road. Firm & sandy ground, under very tall trees. We couldn't get satellite even though they said we could. Bathroom was clean. Some "residents" drove their golf cars very fast even into the night. This is an event park so we didn't expect too much. It was just okay. We camped at Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

They had tent campers mixed in with fifth wheel campers which is not all that bad. The problem was that the rules were not enforced. There were Drunks riding all around the park on golf carts, with the radios turned up loud. This was past quite time in the park. Check-in was slow as they didn't appear to know what was going on. This could be a real nice park if it was run right and the rules enforced. Will not stay again due to happenings at the park. I've been to this park three times in the last year and had a great time each time I went. Plenty to do, trail riding on golf carts, fishing in the Suwannee River, canoeing on the Suwannee River, live music, beautiful hiking trails. Love the pickin' shed for the Bluegrass music. The people are very friendly and have about anything you need there. It's a good mix of activities and peaceful tranquility.
