Overall nice park, clean nice pool and helpful staff. Small trees so the park offers no shade at RV sites. Has a basketball goal and small pond to fish at. We camped at Suwannee River Rendezvous in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Convict Springs is on the grounds and is nice place to cool off. They rent kayaks and canoes. Small play area for the kids at lower primitive camping area. Closest town with Walmart and other shopping is Lake City which is around 30 minutes away.

Our rate was passport America. Dirt road access is bumping and dusty/muddy before getting to the campground. 2 large Confederate flags flying at 2 separate individuals campsites on the way in were very off-putting. The campground personnel we encountered were very pleasant & helpful. Our gravel site was a nice very long pull-through with full-hook-up (water, 50 amp, sewer, cable). There was a lovely pool and clean individual shower/restrooms. Many activities were available (some with a charge) & there was a snack shack that prepared breakfast, burgers, etc. for a charge. It's a good hike to the lodge to register, but go to your site first, as instructed, then go to register. The lodge is not an area you want to drive your rig into. We would go again, but would like to avoid controversial flag flying issues. We camped at Suwannee River Rendezvous in a Fifth Wheel.

We have been to this campground several times and each time it just gets better. There is a lot of pride in the ownership. The park is nicely landscaped and the sites are easy to get into. Each site has a picnic table, fire ring and a two person lawn chair to enjoy. There is a nice swimming pool plus a spa. Best park we have stayed in for the price. No cable but OTA channels available. We camped at Suwannee River Rendezvous in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

It is a beautiful place to camp. Convict Springs has history connected with it. There are Kayaks, and Canoes for rent on weekends. They have trips floating down the river. The park is very large, and located right on the Suwannee river. There are 3 sections. The upper one is pretty level, with almost all paved roads and gravel sites with a lot of pull through sites. The trees are very small, with virtually no shade. The lower, older section, is sand roads and very close sites. There are many trees and lots of shade. Our site, #47 in the old section, was almost level side to side, but not at all lengthwise. Front to back wasn't a problem, and a board under the wheels fixed side to side. We have stayed at worse. Along the riverbank there are areas for tents. It would be fun to camp in a tent along the banks of such a famous river. It is very quiet. Plus side: The people in the office are very friendly and helpful. It has a restaurant/diner open weekends, Friday through Sunday. The office is on the river and has a large lodge. It's nice. There are video games, TV, Book Swap, and they have a small store with a few essentials. There is a playground. There is a large Dog Park with 3 sections . It is the only place in the whole RV park with doggy a bag container, and when I was there the container was empty. Minus: To get to the campground you must navigate a rough, dusty road. The check in office is a long way from the sites, especially the upper ones. There is a parking lot for RVs at the upper area. If you have a really small RV it's possible to turn around by the office. Bottom line: We will come back. It is a beautiful place to get away. The people are friendly and helpful. We had no problem that couldn't be worked out. We camped at Suwannee River Rendezvous in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Nearest Walmart in Live Oak, Fl. It is about 6 miles to the nearest town, Mayo, so bring supplies. We had lunch at The Mayo Cafe. in Mayo, Fl. It is a smörgåsbord, and not bad. Check your plates and silverware. We went to 3 gas stations in Mayo before we found one with pumps that looked like they worked. (The Exxon) Price was 20 cents more than anywhere around where we live.

Make sure you stop in upper parking lot and call office for site choice. Don't drive down road to office with camper attached. Wifi just usable in camper. Some trade books at office. The onsite grill does a good job. Passport for two days. Pigeon race was fun. We camped at Suwannee River Rendezvous in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This campground is what all campgrounds should be; it's kind of rustic but also well-kept. The staff is very friendly and helpful (other than the woman who blurted at us this morning "You need to move your car." That was rude.) Utilities all worked well. WIFI was typical campground quality; steady but somewhat slow. But considering how far away this location is from any built-up area (a good thing), it was doable. Campsites are very large. Ours (127) even had its own little covered shelter with bench and picnic table. The owner made it a point to converse with us, which is kind of a rare (but pleasant) surprise. The office/lodge is just what a campground should be: rustic but comfortable. Most park roads are paved, but a few sections are lime rock, so drivers are asked to keep speeds under 10 mph so a lot of dust won't be stirred up. The only real negative I might have is one of our rally group was charged $5 because they had to cut their planned stay a little short because their coach had several mechanical issues that needed attention. They weren't last minute with the cancellation, and I feel the charge, though small, was uncalled for. Just IMHO. We camped at Suwannee River Rendezvous in a Motorhome.

Nice campground, food shack had good food though a bit pricey. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Clean campground with fun activities. Large sites too, all the way around the campground. Road going into the campground was a bit bumpy, but once in the campground, all was level, spacious and well maintained. We camped at Suwannee River Rendezvous in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a rustic campground, and the owners have gone out of their way to make it charming with cute decorations. When you arrive, you should go to your pre-assigned site number rather than bringing your travel trailer to the office. The roads by the office are narrow, have room for one vehicle going in one direction, and have ragged edges. On the other hand, roads within the main campsite area are fine. There are a number of activities. We wanted to go kayaking, but you can't start after 3:00. There was a spring and a swimming pool. We didn't use the swimming pool; the spring was "refreshing" (a little on the cold side, but nice on a hot day). The free wifi was so slow as to be nonexistent. We were told they were having some problems with it when we arrived. I tried to purchase the "premium" wifi later in the evening, which you have to do from a pop up screen. I received a text message that my credit card received the charge, but I never received a password or got the service. When I last checked (the next day!) the charge was pending, so I wasn't technically charged. There was an email to contact if there were problems with the premium service, but that person didn't respond to two emails (and you have to write down the email when you register because it's difficult to get the pop up screen back to find it). There is pretty much zero T-mobile reception, though Verizon and AT & T seem to work. We had a wooden love seat bench and picnic table on the grass at our site. Restrooms were clean, and they have activities on the weekends. Activities include pigeon races and chicken poo bingo. They also have a little restaurant that is open on the weekends. We weren't there on a weekend and can't give any insight into these activities. We camped at Suwannee River Rendezvous in a Tent Trailer.

First visit in a 30 ft Class-A motorhome. Plenty of pull-through and back-in sites. Very nice pool, laundry facilities, small workout room and individual shower/toilet "suites". They even provide a dog washing station! This is definitely a "destination" CG, off the beaten path if you will, but well worth it. The "hidden" part of the CG are the amenities: Momma's Kitchen, lodge, cabins, a 72 degree year-round spring and the Suwannee River canoe trips! The owners have done a remarkable job of rescuing the CG and personal touches are all around in the construction and efficiency. The CG gives great discounts all week long. We will camp here again for sure. We camped at Suwannee River Rendezvous in a Motorhome.

I stayed a month and loved it very much. A lot to do here right on the river and a bike path that never ends. Don't count on their Wifi at all and certain phone carriers don't work there at all which means your Hot Spot will not work. Beautiful pool, game room, laundry, and a all stainless steel dog wash. Very out of the way, but we were in the area and spent Memorial Day weekend here. Safe and great place for families! Our site had a small pavilion and bench; was level and had nice landscaping. Did wash in a very efficient laundry with gas driers. There is a large dog park if you have a dog. The pool looked smallish for the size it f the park, but was always being used. The older section, down by the river, also has the registration and a small food concession. It appeared popular. The town of Mayo is small; the county of LaFayette is dry. People did bring their own beer but it was used discreetly. Verizon signal was excellent; cable very good; internet very good. We did have our kayak but did not want to pay for the shuttle. The current at the river by the Park was too strong to just go out and paddle. That was the only negative. If in the area we would stay again, but it is way off the beaten path so we probably would not be in the area. Our PA discount was for one night since it was a holiday weekend. We camped at Suwannee River Rendezvous in a Fifth Wheel.

What a beautiful campground. Clean, spacious and well taken care of. Beautiful views of the river and the spring was small but beautiful. This reminds me of old Florida when we stay here. They have Bingo on Friday and Saturday nights and few other activities that we didn't participate in, this time. Did not eat at their restaurant due to us having more than enough food with us this time. We will definitely be coming back to this resort. It was well cared for and the owners appear to be constantly adding more good things to it. We camped at Suwannee River Rendezvous in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very nice park with friendly personnel and an on-site restaurant with good food selection. Our Dish satellite and Verizon internet worked well here. The only down side is that you must park at the top and walk down a long lane to register as there is no turn around at the bottom. They did bring us back to our rig in a golf cart which helped. Kind of far from I-10. My GPS had me driving the back way. The first part of the camp access road is sand. 10 mph speed so you don't kick up dust. The camp office is in the old section. Told to set up at a particular site and walk to the office to pay. Must be a boating/water mecca. Lots of campers in the new section. We camped at Suwannee River Rendezvous in a Fifth Wheel.
