Great park right on the beach... very well maintained and run!!! You will pay for it however, as with all the finer things in life. We camped at Camp Gulf in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Location can't be beat! Sites are close together, however, there is very little privacy the closer you get to the beach. The bathhouse is fantastic, clean and spacious - always an available shower room open for use with pleasant music playing that makes you feel like you are at a resort. Cleaning crews seem to be cleaning during busiest shower times though. Two pools on site, disappointing that the big slide was rarely open. The pool closest to the road was in dire needs of cleaning...didn't go in due to that. No activities going on during our stay apart from karoake 1 night. Would be nice if they had a game room. We camped at Camp Gulf in a Travel Trailer.

Super convenient to get to the beach, helpful staff, great pools for kids and the bathrooms and showers were the nicest I have seen. The price is high but worth it. We camped at Camp Gulf in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Overall we liked the park due to the location, but there were several small annoying things that added up. I won't nitpick them to death but there were a few stand out issues. 1. The WIFI down front NEVER worked although we were right next to the access point. I repeatedly brought this up to their team and eventually someone assured me the access point (AP) would be reset by the manager. Not sure if he did but one day we did get to connect (usually it said password not correct) but got zero bandwidth. The WIFI was good up in the activity center so I could get some work done but was a hassle at times...we burned through all our cellular data in a week. 2. That nifty water slide in the photos? It's only open 1 hour a day and only 6 days a week. So don't expect your kids to get to enjoy it if you have an agenda while on vacation. We changed our plans one day so the kids could enjoy it. Now the wife and I fought over location. She insisted on the beach and I insisted on some shade. She won but suffered in the end. Our AC on our NEW trailer couldn't come close to keep up with Fla's 90+F and we are miserable most of the time at the trailer. Do yourself a favor and don't give into the over priced beach area location. The place is tight. I really wanted to stick around to watch the 40ft 5th wheels get in and out of some of the locations, but didn't see much. Very impressive how they cram them in. We had lots of room at our site so get on Google earth and plan accordingly for trees and space. It's quiet but even knowing I got a friendly lecture on kids not being on bikes or scooters after dark the kids were in golf carts, no lights and driving the wrong way almost every night. Overall very quiet...no crazy late night hillbilly BS but I think everyone is just to darn tired at night with the heat and busy schedules! Team was very friendly and obviously very busy. The cracks showed sometimes but they were always attempting to be a friendly as can be! Don't over size your rig for the site. We almost did and it was tight to get in but once in there plenty of room for our vehicle on site 614. We camped at Camp Gulf in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Very nice campground, oceanfront. We were steps from the beach on site 608. Yes, the sites are tight, and not for the novice camper to park. We had rain for the first couple of days which would have been a problem because our campsite and the one next to ours flooded, but the staff came out right away and pumped the water out immediately every time it rained. For the price, the bathhouse could have been cleaner. We've stayed at other oceanfront campgrounds before for less money with much cleaner bathhouses. These, while nicely decorated and air-conditioned, were always a little dirty, even right after cleaning. This campground had an excellent food truck next to the turtle pond. The food was so good, we ate there three times during our week long stay. They are called the Pudgy Pineapple and you can find their menu on facebook. There are two camp stores, the one in the middle of the camp is smaller but has ice, self serve ice cream, and a few novelties. They can also check you in and rent beach wheelbarrows, etc. Beach wheelbarrows rent for only $5 per day. There is a lot to do in the area for families and adults. The camp also had a lot of planned activities for both adults and children. The best information for the area can be found on the Miramar Beach facebook page. Overall, we had a fabulous time, and the service was fantastic. Be prepared for heavy traffic on the main road, 98, as construction to widen the road is taking place and will continue for the next year or so. We camped at Camp Gulf in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Visited a very nice church in Miramar Beach on Sunday during our stay, Resurrection Catholic Church. Lots of shopping, Wal-Mart, Whole Foods, Publix, and most department stores. Visited Harborwalk in Destin which was a lot of fun. Lots of shops, Margaritaville, Boat tours, and fun activities for kids including rock climbing, zip line, etc.

Taking your RV to the beach? Camp Gulf is where you need to go. It is a little expensive but you are on the beach. We were in spot 600A by the pond. When backing into that spot you will need a spotter and the camp worker taking you to that sight will help you get in. Its about a 5 min. walk from our RV door to the edge of the beach. This is 3 years in a row we have been there but we are going to Navarre, Fl next year just to try a new place. If you have never been to Camp Gulf you need to go at least once. Tips for other Campers:

Go to beach when the sun is out and go shopping at the outlet mall when its raining. There is also a Winn Dixie up the street. Get their value discount card, it will save you some money.

Stayed 6 nights at one of the beach front sites. Some people think you are parked on the sand. You aren't. But, the experience is like being on the beach in three ways. First, our RV has a large picture window in the back so when we are inside we turn our recliners around and look at the beach and water from our RV. Second, we set up our chairs and umbrella right behind our RV. This will sound lazy but there is only one setup for the week this way. Third, we would make the short walk and sit at the waters edge when we wanted to. They are masters at helping you back in. These beach sites are the ultimate view if you are a beach person. As one reviewer said, the road through Destin is being widened so traffic is horrible. We saw a sign that said the work would be completed in Sping, 2020. They will pump your RV for $10. We camped at Camp Gulf in a Fifth Wheel.

As the marketers say - location, location, location. Stayed in site 610 for 5 nights then moved to 812 for our final night. We paid dearly for it, but do not regret a single dollar for the beachfront location. As others have noted, beachfronts do not have sewer, but there is a honeywagon. Destin traffic is terrible though, roadworks not helping. We barely left the park! We camped at Camp Gulf in a Motorhome.

This is a kid friendly place. Very helpful staff that escorted us in. VERY close sites. We backed up to a pond with VERY loud frogs at night. I guess I just expected more for $150 a night. I have never spent that much but was willing to do so because of the location which is hard to beat. We will not stay here again. It is not our type of park. If you are looking for a quiet place to stay, DO NOT stay here. If you are looking for a family friendly park right on the beach, DO stay here. We camped at Camp Gulf in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Not sure about price that was estimate. We love this park. This was our 3rd stay. This park is clean, well-services, family friendly, and has the nicest bathhouses with large family-style rooms. Fantastic for families like mine with small children. The two pools, beach, food truck, and activities make it possible to happily spend every day here. Great environment for kids. As expected at the beach the sites are close together. They always help you park which is great. I highly recommend this park for a family beach stay. We camped at Camp Gulf in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

You can easily spend the whole week inside the park and be content. We did go out on some rainy days this year and enjoyed the Gulfarium, Margaritaville, and glow in the dark mini golf. We always go up the street to the seafood market and bring home peel and eat shrimp—don’t miss that!

Absolutely amazing location! As close to the ocean as you would ever want to camp. Very nice bathrooms. Level sites. Some sites are extremely tight. We had a pull through site and a beach front site. Both were easy to get in and out of. I would stay here again for sure. Definitely the most expensive park we have ever stayed in. We got very lucky and the nights we stayed on the beach we did not have any neighbors. The beach sites are very tight if they are full. We camped at Camp Gulf in a Fifth Wheel.

All is well above, sites are very nice, staff very friendly, views are wonderful. Pulled in after a 11.75hr. haul straight thru and staff was there and ready to help. Had a issue with a breaker. Overall Rating:

I loved this campground. Family friendly and as close to the Gulf of Mexico as you can get. The beach was beautiful, I could have spend a week there. We stayed in an upper beach site (further away) and it was great. No, we were not ON the beach, but our site was more spacious than the beach site and we didn't have to battle the sand the way sites close to the beach do. Sites were still tight, but a bit more spaced than sites closer to the beach and we were able to walk to the beach in 3 minutes. Service was great, they provided somebody to guide my husband backing the trailer in (that alone made the hefty price worthwhile), lots of activities to do, campground was clean, pools were pleasant, but I wasn't impressed by the bathrooms. They were not filthy, but they should have been a lot cleaner. I called 6 months in advance to make my reservation and I could only pick from 3 sites, if you're interested in staying make your reservation sooner than later! Overall it was lovely and I would love to go back one day! We camped at Camp Gulf in a Travel Trailer.
