8 RV Parks near Monticello, Florida
Sep 2019 - $33.00
OK for an overnight stop, however, no cable and internet only in the rec room. The office person has to push a button on the modem and if the office is closed, at 7 PM, you are out of luck! We were there to avoid Dorian and the weeks rent was non-refundable, or adjustable if we left early. Laundry, three washer did not work, as well as two driers. Not what we were hoping for!
It is a former KOA and I can see why the franchise was dropped in favor of Good Sam. I do feel the Good Sam numbers are a little too high for what this place has to offer. It is OK for an over night stop, but certainly not for an extended stay. - ratracer
May 2019 - $43.00
A bit of a backtrack off 10 to get to the park.
Good place for an overnighter but that would be about all.
Sites are dirt and grass so I imagine it would be a mess during a rainstorm.
Lots of full timers with a lot of dilapidated old trailers.
Lots of loose cats which drove my dogs crazy!! Also, as you can imagine the whole campground was their litter box.
They did serve a free continental breakfast which was a nice touch.
Good value compared to some of the other parks in the area. - Fran_Dawn
May 2019 - $41.00
Good Sam does it again; this campground over-rated at 8/8.5/8. Unfortunately, the campground is deficient in many areas - dirt roads in poor condition, rutted grass site which had not been mowed in some time, unappealing appearance, and overpriced. Did not originally include GS discount; had to be credited later Only saving grace was inclusion of complimentary continental breakfast. We would not stay here again. - jim swickard
Oct 2015 - $27.00
Old campground with some full hookups. The sites are very, very tight. No manager on site, pay at lock box. Rate was $30; took the 10% Good Sam discount. Road to RV Park is dirt and very very dusty; our RV, bikes and toad will have to be washed after staying here. Will not return next time through area. - Teacher's Pet
Jul 2015 - $27.00
Park is very quiet even tho it is next to I-10. There was only the host and a few other campers when we camped there. The sites are open and spacious with grass & sand at each and a picnic table. The amperage & water was good. There is a lot of open space to walk. The pool is clean and well kept (had a great swim while there). The restrooms and showers clean and well kept. There is also a clubhouse with couch, chairs & TV. We would definitely come here again. - Kerch Family
Jun 2015 - $32.00
An OK old park. Clubhouse, WiFi, pool. Mostly pull through sites, shaded and level sand/grass sites. No one from owner's staff was present and payment is by honor system. - rebane
Oct 2019 - $30.00
This a self service campground. Don't try to ask questions. No one calls back or is on site. Having read other reviews, we knew some spots weren't level. That's probably true for all spots if you're a 40 foot class A. We leveled with one wheel off the ground and needed a step stool to get in and out. We didn't have to disconnect though, so that's a plus. The trees and plants seemed to have new mulch around them, but the grass hadn't been mowed in a while. The gravel road and sites were in pretty good repair. For a quick overnight stop, it's adequate. - Dapper
Jul 2019 - $28.00
This is a great spot right off I-10 for an overnight stay. It's self service and on the honor system. Everything is clean. Go down the road to Monticello for a quick bite. - Jaime and Tom
May 2019 - $32.00
This is a no frills park but perfect for an overnight stop off of I 10. Easy off and on and several convenient gas stations at the exit. Would stay here again. - PRG
Apr 2009 - $14.00
Lovely sites near pond with lots of vegetation around. Site was good size, private, backed up to pond. RV park is next to a state park with boat launch; nice place to look at the river. Stayed 1 night. Remote area, no cell phone service. Rate was with Passport America. - frankandbb
Mar 2008 - $14.00
Passport America price. We were here three nights. No gators, but plenty of biting sand flies. Checked the rest rooms and showers, and they are in need of some major cleaning. Glad we have our own working toilet and shower. Skinny paved roads in and out of park. Easy in for a HDT and 35 ft trailer, but a little tight on the way out. - Tallboy
Oct 2007 - $13.00
If you're looking to get away from it all this is the place, no cell phone signal, no wifi, just nature. Very big level full hook-up sites and because of the landscaping they are very private. There are two ponds, one with five little gators that we saw and the other with 3 little gators (under four-foot). There are a lot of fisherman in this park since the boat ramp is less then a 100-yards away. Take whatever supplies you're going to need since it's about a 20-mile drive (one way) to the nearest grocery. The restrooms were old but clean and the staff was very friendly. - wandering palms
Nov 2019 - $50.00
Nice clean park. Sites are very close, could not open 1 of our awnings. We stayed 3 nights. Right off I-10 and close to downtown. Publix and gas station across road from park. Will stay again. - Unhitched Somewhere
Oct 2019 - $50.00
Sites are a bit narrow and lots of shade. No satellite access except for the sites near the front of the park... just 6 sites. Managers very nice. Turning left out of the campground is on to a a 6 lane divided road. Walmart and Costco are 3.5 miles away. - TXiceman1
Sep 2019 - $50.00
It was 95 degrees when we stayed in this 66 site park off I-10. There are two small unisex restroom showers in a building no bigger than a normal sized outhouse. And, they are not air conditioned. This is the first Florida campground that we have seen without A/C in the facilities Our site had a very apparent slope to the side and forward. I had to use three blocks under my front tires. Will never stay here again. - Geodoc
Nov 2019 - $30.00
18 months ago, name change to Eastern Pines RV Park. Camp Host/Manager on duty. Roads are not paved, sites are not paved, electric poles are providing an unusual configuration of electricity, mainly measuring out at 130+ volts! Sites are almost level, satellite is great as there are no trees, but there are many long-term vintage trailers. One trailer has a blown-out shredded tire on its rim, sits askew, and has tarps over the slide. Manager said that it "was a horrible place full of crime, drug dealers and prostitutes before we ran them all off". Train noises off and on, otherwise seems quiet. No discount programs accepted, $30 a night. Very overpriced. We would not choose to return here. - DebbieT in Alabama
Jun 2017 - $15.00
Staff very friendly and efficient. Lots of older trailers with permanent residents. Used for an overnight stopover. Worth the discounted Passport America rate. - The Petersons
Feb 2017 - $15.00
Manager was wonderful and very welcoming and helpful. The park was very very quiet at night. - ACM
Jan 2017 - $15.00
This is an RV/trail neighborhood not a park. Junk cars with dogs tied to them, cats everywhere. The place out our front window looked to be a 'hoarder'. Many of the ' RV homes' were from the 60's & 70's model year. They claim 72 sites but at least 68 of them have permanent residents. Animal poop & trash was everywhere. Sites are grass/mud with ruts and large mud holes. No wifi or cable. No toilets/showers mentioned as available. This is the first place in 22 years where we felt compelled to lock up our outer bins on the RV & leave nothing out overnight. Part of the park smelled of sewer every time I walked the dogs. This place shouldn't be approved as a Passport America park; it degrades confidence in PA as a good recommendation. So why did we stay here, only place in town near family. But never again!!! I will drive a longer distance before I would stay here again. Can not recommend this to anyone. - Peppercatt
