The old area is better than the new area. In the new area, the asphalt paving has been unable to withstand the weight of motor homes and has sunk in from tires and jacks. Smaller units will fare better. Interior roads easy to negotiate. Most sites level. Excellent wifi. Convenient to town and shopping. Good security. We will likely stay here again if in the area. We camped at Wild Frontier Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Wild Frontier changed since our stay in 2016. They expanded with another 200 sites and opened for business in Dec 2018. Considering new construction, the roads and sites were curiously designed for a modern RV park. The blacktopped access road width was 11' so you will back into your site while running over the grass and contending with the unit across. Blacktopped pad width was 8' (+/- a couple inches), which needed precision backing. All sites have grass patios with very rough laid sod. Our initially assigned back-in site was too short to contain the trailer and tow vehicle. Our parking options were to use an adjacent site until it rented or the distant overflow lot. They suggested we search for 5 potential sites and check for availability. Very few back-in sites had better length and a number had pedestals positioned at/near the rear, restricted useable length. We ultimately paid an upcharge and moved into a pull-thru. We noted shorter pull-thrus in the process. Poor base prep and 3" blacktop crushed easily on the edges; leveling pads settled in. Several motorcoaches pushed up blacktop in front of their wheels while maneuvering onto the lot. Storm drainage was an issue throughout. The office kindly delivered a set of boards to get from the RV to the road. We were not able to use the patio area for anything the entire month, something never experienced in 10 years of winter traveling. Wet, grassy feet tracked into the RV even after days of dry weather. During the month we experienced a 5 hour water outage, cable TV interruptions and erratic wifi performance. You should expect this park condition until the 2019 winter season. Ownership changed in mid-January. The new managers promised to rectify many issues in the coming off-season. Cable and wifi problems were being addressed before we left. Their goal is to make this a destination resort. Our recent experience was not good but we would reconsider after verifying changes have been made. We camped at Wild Frontier Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

The front entrance to the park off NW Gainesville Rd and Hwy 301, where your GPS will most likely lead you, is no longer accessible. Access the campground using the west entrance at 3101 NW 16th Ave (aka Martin Luther King Ave).

The good part, the park is nice with some large oaks. Located not too far from shopping and restaurants. Internet is mostly ok. We were in the newest section and we were disappointed. We were originally booked for a back-in but they were too short so we had to go to a pull thru. Unfortunetaly they don't seem to be aware of the length of their sites, because our friends had the same issue. The pads are very narrow, the tires are on the edge (they don't want you to drive on the grass, but it is almost impossible not to). With the pads being so narrow a lot of weight is on the edges of the pad, so the edges are already cracked. We use blocks for the trailer legs and the front ones sank into the pad. (it is only about 1.5" deep) There is no pad for putting your chairs on. Normally that is no big deal, however the grass is extremely uneven, and in some cases extremely wet. (our friends received a board/plank to walk across from their front door to the road) You step out your truck and you're on the grass. The old section which is for permanents/seasonals have a patio. It really is too bad that the owner/manager did not put a bit more thought into setting up the sites. Some of the roads are very narrow one ways. There are wider 2 way roads. Would we come back here......no, unless the sites were fixed. They need to be wider and a patio would be nice as well, because the ground is so uneven. Also our outdoor carpet was partly under water when it was raining. They offer boxes for cable TV (charge but will be reimbursed when box is returned) however it took over a week to get one. We camped at Wild Frontier Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

They are under going new construction on the park expansion this summer. The owners are the hardest working people that keep this park in tip-top shape. Great clubhouse, paved pads with patios, pool clean. A Camping World repair shop is next door and they work well with you. We stayed 3 months while waiting for our new truck to arrive. We camped at Wild Frontier Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Very convenient location, but entry & exit not easy; you must know ahead of time where you are going. Check Google Maps. Navigation once in park was easy, and interior roads good. Level site; didn't use jacks. Their cable requires decoder, for which deposit is required. Over the air TV has many channels, so cable isn't really needed. This was a second choice for us, since our primary RV park wasn't available. It is entirely adequate. Would stay here again. We camped at Wild Frontier Campground in a Motorhome.

I agree with most of what has been described by previous reviewers. I just wanted to add a couple of things I experienced. We meet some of the most friendly and kind people we've had the pleasure of camping near. As soon as we got settled we were invited over to their site where 7 0r 8 neighbors were just sitting around enjoying each others company. I have never been more welcomed in a campground.
Please take your time backing in to your site. There are some weird angles and it is tight. Once in the sites they are plenty long enough and dead level. When we were leaving a couple was trying to get in the site next to us with a 40ft 5th wheel. The driver cut it too much and broke out the whole back window of his truck. I wouldn't wish that on anybody. A word of caution. We camped at Wild Frontier Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Wild Frontier is a small well-kept campground with only one park model on the grounds. While there are a number of seasonal campers, there was a lot of transient movement during our stay. Water pressure was around 55psi, 50a electric voltage was strong and stable, sewer connections were to the rear of the rig and reachable with a single hose. Every site has an asphalt pad and patio. Our site and many others were generously long and accommodated our 39' rig and truck very well. Site width was reasonable and consistent thru the park at about 30'. For recreation there is a small swimming pool, bean bag toss, horse shoe pits and a few activities organized each week. The office has a small camp store and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again. We camped at Wild Frontier Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The front entrance to the park on 31st St, where your GPS leads you, was under repair and will be inaccessible for some time. Access to the campground was off of the NW 16th Ave entrance. Check with the staff when you make your reservations about the status to program your GPS accordingly.

PA rate was only good for one night. The entrance to the park is thru what appears to be an alley that is next to an RV dealership. Be careful when entering the park. The road is not well marked and is very narrow. The park itself is very nice with tar pads and patios. The service at the site are good//ample water pressure, good electric rate and the sewer is where it should be. I gave the rating of 5 due to the entrance, I would stay here again. Rate based on Monthly. Great park. No old trailers. Adjacent to America Choice RV, service and sales. We purchased our new 5er there, and they had us stay 3 nights to check out the unit and fixed every little thing, and we liked it so much we booked a month. Super nice campers, lots of activities. Pool is not heated. One pull-through site but all easy back-ins for giant size RVs. Our 5er is 41' and does not crowd the site at all! We will be back. Hats off to the manager and staff. We camped at Wild Frontier Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Lots of construction in the area; call campground to get best directions!!! Once inside the park, it is nice. Lots of very friendly snowbirds. They came over to jump start our Jeep and invited us to all the activities they had planned for the 2 days we were there. All back-in sites, but plenty of room for our 40' plus towed. Good water pressure. Utilities all worked well. Park well maintained. Very nice staff. Close to everything we wanted to do in the area. Our cost was Passport America for one night and full price for the second night. Would definitely stay again. We camped at Wild Frontier Campground in a Motorhome.

Great campground. Easy access for all sized units. Sites at an angle which make navigating a large rig like our 40' 5er no problem. Sites are a little short but it's not a detractor. The park is very clean, cement pads and lots of grass around which the pups appreciated. Amenities all worked fine. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay again when in the area. We camped at Wild Frontier Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
