The owners are doing a great job building a very nice campground in an urban setting. Interior roads can be tight, some spaces can handle big rigs if they back in. Sites are crushed shells, interior roads are asphalt/gravel. All-new utilities, lush landscaping, not much noise from US 19. Cable is not installed yet, but they tell you this clearly on check-in. Our site got satellite reception just fine so it wasn't a problem, but some sites would be blocked by trees. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the Tarpon Springs area. We camped at Clearwater / Lake Tarpon KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

You can only turn right (north) on heavily-traveled US-19 leaving the park. Several of the left/u-turn lanes are wide enough to make a u-turn with a big rig towing.

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $66.00
Overall Rating:

This is a newly remodeled, attractive RV park with FHU back-in sites on crushed gravel, sloped for run-off. All utilities and wifi worked well. There is a pool, modern and clean bathrooms/showers and laundry area. There is also a small fenced dog park and limited space for walking a large dog. The park is in an urban setting so space is at a premium - roads are narrow and sites are close together. However it is landscaped attractively. It is located right off US Hwy 19, but road noise was not a problem. It is convenient to shopping, and Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks, Tampa and St. Petersburg (The Dali Museum). We camped at Clearwater / Lake Tarpon KOA in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: December, 2007 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed just one night at this park. It was nothing special, but it was very quiet and peaceful, and the requirement for us was that it was very close to the Tarpon Springs Sponge Dock area. We traveled with our Golden Retriever and Chinese crested, and had no problems. We checked in about 6pm and left around 8am in the morning so we really didn't get to look around much, but they charged for Wi-fi internet. The site we had was a back-in, and was gravel with water, electric and sewage. I wouldn't recommend staying here for more than a couple of nights at the most, there are some nicer places for extended stays, but I would stay here again to visit Tarpon Springs. We camped at Clearwater / Lake Tarpon KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Park is set up for winter snow birds. Only about half of sites have sewer hookups. Very few 50 amp. hook ups. All sites are back in and a few have concrete patios. Roads leave a little to be desired. Long walks to bathhouse. Office is only open 9 am to 11 am and 4pm to 7pm. WiFi is expensive $7.00 per day and unreliable. We camped at Clearwater / Lake Tarpon KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is nice, older, park located off US 19. We stayed in a long pull thru up at the front of the park. Farther back, are some nicely shaded back-ins that offer better protection from the noise of the busy Highway 19. They allowed us to stay with our greyhounds although their stated policy is "small dogs only". There were several other larger dogs also in residence when we were there. The staff was very friendly and were "snowbirds" from the Mid-West. The laundry is large and their restrooms/showers were very clean and well maintained. There was a mix of longer term residents and those, like us, just passing through or enjoying a short stay in the area. We would stay there again, if passing through, although the traffic on US Hwy 19 is very very bad, so do not expect to get anywhere quickly, expecially during rush hour. We camped at Clearwater / Lake Tarpon KOA in a Motorhome.
