This is a County park. County residents pay less. We stop here when we are in the area to visit friends in Boynton. We like this park and the lake is beautiful. As previously noted, jet skis and boats are not annoying. Have kayaked here a few years ago. Waterfront sites are for 14 days or less. Longer term site are just across the road, or further back. I do not see any pull thru sites. They have a 90 day out booking. They will not book prior to 90 days out. Had to rearrange my plans as a "Garlick Festival" completely booked the campground. Congress (main thoroughfare) and the surrounding area have any restaurant or store that you ever visited. We camped at John Prince Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Publix in either direction on Congress. Publix is the only place to buy baked goods, as no bakeries. Home Depot near. Fuel stations and drug stores galore. My friend took us to Golden Coral (none on Long Island) and also to a chinese buffet. Both, the food was delicious. There are the normal ones (Chilies, Texas Roadhouse, Olive Garden and so on).

-Users in Feb are primarily snowbirds. Even the waterfront sites are FHU. I was surprised a sewer connection was available so close to water. Was told waterfront sites are for 14 days max. Backing into the site was not too bad even with my 42' 5er and long-bed crew cab dually. Parking on the grass is allowed. Decent spacing between sites, though some have more space than others. Jet skis buzzing along on the water was not distracting. No fenced dog run. Office said no personal fenced dog areas allowed at sites, but I saw them. Not a bad park, and I'm sure some long-termers love it, but in all honestly it really is nothing special, just another campground. We camped at John Prince Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed at John Prince for a long weekend. We had a lake front site which was a back-in site. This is a nice campground to use for a base in the Palm Beach area. WiFi was excellent, bath houses and rest rooms were conveniently located for the different sections of the campground. Two nice playgrounds for kids and a boat ramp would make this nice for families with kids. The lake front sites are limited to a 14 day stay, so no seasonal or essentially full-time residents. Dog walking was excellent and it appeared everyone picked up after their pets. The campground is gated and very secure. We camped at John Prince Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We have wintered here for several years. The campground is well maintained, most of the spots have ample room. Good Verizon reception and the rabbit ears pick up many local stations. They have Wifi but we do not use it (I hear it is acceptable). As part of the John Prince Park, there are miles of biking/running trails, lake access, a great dog park, kiddie playgrounds, tennis/basketball/soccer/petanque courts, fit trail, etc. The adjacent airport is one of the busiest primary flight training airports in the country, but very little noise after dark...it is always nice to watch the planes, and not a nuisance to me. I-95 is a mile away and early morning traffic can be heard, as is the occasional overnight freight train. We prefer to stay further from the lake, as the bugs can be bothersome close to the lake. They are not a problem further inland. Some of the spots can be tight or have a palm tree blocking the awning, but most are more than adequate. In the winter, Quebec French is the most common language in the park, with activities including daily petanque, weekly line dancing, horseshoes, happy hour, and other community activities frequented by the very friendly Canadians. The park staff is helpful, and mail/packages can be received at the office. The grounds crew do a very good job keeping this county park campground clean. Although in general I hate South Florida, for family reasons I keep returning, and think it is a very nice park. I will definitely return. We camped at John Prince Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful park with spacious campsites. We had a waterfront site. Campfires are allowed if you have a portable fire pit. I do wonder what the bug situation might be like in the summer. I noticed several campers had screened enclosures over their picnic tables. The sunny side of my RV was covered in midges in the morning. They didn't bother us though and I would definitely recommend this campground. We camped at John Prince Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Price based on weekly rate of a lakefront site with electric & water. Weekly rate for full-service lakefront is $6/day more. There's a 14-day limit on lakefront sites. I reviewed the park a year ago, and it remains a good value. It's adjacent to the county general aviation airport, lightly used by small private planes, and there is a bit of noise during the day, but it shouldn't bother most people. It's also a couple of blocks from the railroad tracks, and there are occasional train whistles audible in the park. The biggest drawback is that many of the lakefront sites are serviced by the least desirable bathhouse - only 2 shower rooms each for men & women. The other bathhouses have 4 for each. The bathroom is extremely cramped - one sink, and the doors to the bathroom stalls can't be fully opened because they hit the exterior wall. The other bathhouses, including the one for full-service lakefront sites, are much better. The interior long-term sites are close together and fully booked during snowbird season. We camped at John Prince Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Excellent campground. Very well laid out. Roads were very easy to navigate. The park is absolutely beautiful. Lots of wild life around (ducks, lizards, etc - very fun to watch). The trees are beautiful. We could see the water from our site. Lots of space for our tow vehicle and an extra vehicle that we had. Security gate with code. Playgrounds, large screened in area with many picnic tables and electrical outlets (we sat their and worked on our computers). We were right next to the internet, and it worked very well. Easy hook ups. Plenty of room for outdoor set up. We will definitely stay here again. Close to highway 95, did not hear any traffic. Next to an airport but did not hear any planes in the evening or at night. Very quiet...nice pet area next to the water. We camped at John Prince Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

If you want a water side site, book ahead. They are usually full on the weekends. Swarms of tiny knats, bring outdoor fogger, bug zapper and bug spray. The good far outweighs the knats.... Area for tent camping, very nice. Large fire pits for groups.

We got lucky with a last minute reservation as we were trying to escape the mosquitoes at Collier-Seminole. Very happy we did as we really enjoyed this huge county park. Most sites are long term parking and are tough to get into, but water sites have a two week limit. The campground is a mix of different size sites with varying widths. Some are pretty close together, others have decent sized yards, so check the map when making reservations. Our site, 119 was an end site so no close neighbors on either side, but rear site was close. Bonus was that it's directly across from the dog park, and not so much of a bonus, directly across from the dump station. Good news, it was rarely used since most sites have full hookups. We were as close to the airfield as one could get, but the air traffic didn't bother us and we actually enjoyed watching the small planes take off and land. The really nice thing about the park was the miles of paved walking/biking trails. Lots of green space once you get outside the campground in a lovely area. We camped at John Prince Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Rate is for a lakefront site. This is a large county park amidst the urban sprawl of Palm Beach County. Many of the waterfront sites are in circles, so only a few of them are directly waterfront, and in some cases the view is blocked by vegetation. There is a 14-day limit on the waterfront sites, after which you have to move to the inland sites, which are packed rather closely together. Your view there is dozens of other RVs. In March the campground was still filled with long-term snowbirds, many from Canada. The restrooms are rather dated. The attached shower rooms were OK, plenty of hot water & good pressure. The laundry room has 8 washers ($2) & 8 dryers ($1) that require tokens, which are sold in the office in $10 rolls, with no refunds. The campground is a very good value compared to other options in the area. It is also adjacent to a county airport for small private planes. Not much noise when I was at the waterfront site, but there was some on 1 of the 4 days I was at an interior site. Be careful using your GPS, mine took me to the entrance for the Park's Golf Center, which is next to the main entrance and would be tight for larger rigs. Use the main entrance on Congress Avenue and follow the signs to the campground. We camped at John Prince Park Campground in a Motorhome.

The park and the campgrounds make the a really nice place. Lots of bike trails in park. Most sites are spacious for a city environment, most are full service. May be difficult to reserve, very popular. T.V. reception good, poor wi-fi unless you're near bathhouse. Travel to beach can be a pain, must go through lake worth. Yes there is prop plane and helicopter noise but ceases at night. Hope to find a spot for 2018 We camped at John Prince Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is a wonderful county park. Lots of out of town folks here for the entire winter season and fills up early! Lots of Canadians, my hubby jokes that one whole section is the French Quarter. In fact they post notices in English and French. People here are mostly friendly, but many have been coming for 20 years and they have their groups. Many sites are on the lake. Not all have sewer. Large dump station. Most sites have nice spacing, a few are fairly close to each other. Dog friendly. Area has lots of things to do, with lots of restaurants. We have stayed many times (longest 2 weeks) and won't hesitate to stay again. We camped at John Prince Park Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed four nights in a lakeside site on the east side of the park. It was one of the nicest sites we've ever had. Lots of room with wildlife just a few feet away. The interior sites are much more crowded. Did not see any pull-thrus. Naturally some sites were easier to back into than others. There's enough room to back over the grass to get into a site rather than trying to make a 90 degree turn. There was occasional noise from the airport but not bad. On only one morning there was a lot of noise from I-95 which disappeared after rush hour. Verizon phone and hotspot worked well as did OTA TV. Would love to return but only to a lakeside site, not in one of the crowded interior sites. We camped at John Prince Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Everything SeaLandSky said was pretty spot on, except if your staying at the west end of the park where the airport is located. There is now a helicopter training school located on the airport grounds. Monday through Fridays the helicopters are doing maneuvers and hovering which at times can be extremely loud and annoying (no it's not because I'm getting older). So just be aware if your looking for some quiet you'll be disappointed. Come on the weekend or stay on the east side of the park it might be quieter there. Other than that it's a great park as others have alluded to. We camped at John Prince Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Well run and clean. A very good value. The usual noise problems generated from Lantana regional airport, which is right behind this campground were gone this time. It seems that the US Secrete Service closes it all down with a presidential visit. So if you want quiet then come here during his visit. This is a great place to visit if you are a kayak fisherman. Good bass fishing and wildlife viewing can be found here. If you want quiet it's best to pick a spot well away from the tent sites which attract local family's who tend to be loud. Many people bike to the beach here. We camped at John Prince Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.
