Feb 2018 - $35.00
An amazing place..62 acres of quiet beauty..horses, cows, goats and ponies...lots to do or just relax at a pond and fish..new this year is a 9 hole executive golf course..greens are sand with 12 inch cups :-) Heated pool, mini golf, horse shoes, basketball, pentaque, schuffle board, bean bag toss, air hockey, pool tables, exercise equipment..train rides, karaoke, jam sessions, bingo...WE LOVE IT HERE !!! - Frankie dee
Mar 2017 - $30.00
This park is ideal for a country setting, no hustle or bustle as in the cities, quiet and you have plenty of space (elbow room) between campers. The pool is beautiful and well maintained. Activities are great during the winter season with bingo, crafts, exercises, pot luck dinners and music with the park musicians doing jam sessions, normally on Friday evenings. Dances and parties on special occasions during the season. This is our second year here and we love it. Everyone here is friendly and you can relax in solitude or mingle with your fellow campers, your choice. The owner seems to bend over backwards to accommodate their guests. Even building a 9 hole golf course which I certainly will enjoy. No place is perfect but this seems to come pretty close to our expectation and needs. The only disadvantage is the nearest food store is about 17 miles away. Our little store close by burnt down the summer of 2016. It was very convenient and miss it but we love being out in the middle of nowhere. The dogs will love their small and large dog parks. It is fun just to watch them romp and play here, very spacious... Love it, love it, and we love it. - Clark Haynam
Jan 2017 - $35.00
IF you love a quiet, country setting, this is an amazing place. Beautiful heated pool, wifi hot-spots, security gate and some pet cows, horses, ponies and goats away from the sites to feed in the morning. Groceries and gas are 15 miles away so planning is a must. THEY ARE WORKING ON A 9HOLE GOLF COURSE FOR THIS WINTER.... great managers and an awesome place to stay. - Frankie dee

Feb 2018 - $32.00
Camped with a group. Sites are good size, spaced well & under trees. Very rustic. Loud train goes by a few times a day. Mostly tent sites - many groups of kids/teens on weekends. Very rustic in a preserve managed for the State by a concessionaire doing a horrible job. Small camp store. Grounds generally clean, but dumpsters were overflowing (hadn't been emptied in over a week); bathrooms & clubhouse were absolutely disgusting - filthy, full of bugs, neglected. Screens mostly missing; doors didn't close. There's a mud hole touted as a "swimming area". Nice trees; OK roads; weak wifi at sites. Way too expensive for what you get. Wouldn't go back on a bet - especially for this price! - Bonnpon
Jan 2017 - $34.00
This is "old FL" section of the State. Campground is on Fish Eating Creek, which is a great fishing destination. Kayaking is good but low water level in the Winter limits it. Sites were level and grassy and nicely spaced out. Pack your supplies before coming as no convenient shopping near by. We enjoyed our stay and will be back! - ournextstop
Jan 2017 - $30.00
Great hiking & beautiful creek views. Very much a weekend haven - but by Sunday afternoon the park is yours! Great wildlife - bring your binoculars! No much else to do without a long drive. Great getaway to just chill. - kettlebelle

This was out third - and last - season at this place. We did, in the past, enjoy this park and made many good friends (see my earlier review). Unfortunately the new manager there lacks the skills to maintain a welcoming and friendly environment. We were exposed to threats and intimidation and often felt like being in a school camp rather than a senior resort. We have decided to take our money to another resort. - dswiss
Mar 2018 - $44.00
Park has good power and water. Concrete pads but most are breaking up. Pretty quite. narrow roads and tight getting out if someone is parked in front of there place. They do move so makes it ok. Little high for just an overnight. - neilontheroad
Feb 2018 - $15.00
Stayed there for 3 months in 2014, 2016 and 2018. Have reservations for 2019 for 3 months. They have a lot of activities every day and night. People are very friendly and management provides the rules and she enforces them with everyone. They maintain the grounds and buildings very well. Pool is heated and well taken care of. The rec hall is in use everyday and night with activities and special events. I have recommended it to several friends and have friends coming down this year for a couple months. We call this our WINTER HAPPY PLACE !! - Bill Eckhart

Feb 2018 - $35.00
The park residents are friendly with several activities during the winter for residents to enjoy. A good rec hall and swimming pool is available. The remote location is quiet with no highway or other noise. The facilities look to be well maintained. A good set of camp rules keep things orderly. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is that maneuvering the turns on the streets was difficult and many sites are tight to back into. We were reserved for site 115 but it was just too tight to back into due to vehicles parked at streetside. - Steve77
Nov 2017 - $35.00
Great park. ..nice owners, nice people, activities, good fishing on Caloosahatchee river near Ortona locks. We have been here for 3 months..love it. They even have karaoke and some great singers - Mamanott

Nov 2018 - $15.00
This is a very neat, organized and well maintained COE campground. Interior roads are wide and paved. Each site is paved up to a level concrete pad for your camper. There is a large gravel area with a covered picnic table and fire ring. Ample room between sites and plenty of room for slide outs and awnings. There are some trees and bushes between some of the sites but most are not shaded. Our site had some shade on one side. Utilities well placed and no problems were encountered even though the park was full most of the time and everyone was using their A/C. Restrooms and showers were kept clean. Since this campground is in a remote area there are not many activities other than fishing, relaxing and watching boats pass thru the locks unless you drive about an hour or so. We would camp here again if we were in the area. - 21fbrs
Oct 2018 - $15.00
This was our second stay at this very nice COE campground. The sites are all 30 or 50 amp with water. A dump station is available on site. Beautiful views of boats passing through the locks. Saw some gators & lots of birds. Last time we were here we saw the otters, but we didn't look for them this time. There's not much in the area to do, so this is an excellent place to spend a few days recharging and being mellow. We didn't go into the facilities. We had good cell coverage (AT&T, boosted) and very good OTA TV from Ft Myers. - Jeporter99
Jul 2018 - $15.00
We stayed at site 28 on July 1, 2018 and site 24 on July 2, 2018. Staff was courteous, Professional and polite. My wife and I have stayed at many Corp of Engineers campgrounds before and this one is by far the Best. Quiet country atmosphere . Sites were well manicured and maintained. The concrete pad was great to park on as we did not have to use our levelers. Love parking near the river and as a bonus NO BUGS. We will definitely return as this is now our favorite campground and close to home. This was the best experience of our camping life! We stayed in a 30 ft Motorhome. - FCN

Jul 2016 - $15.00
As a writer this was the perfect campground for me to sit outside on the picnic table and enjoy the warm weather of Florida. The owner is the best and she truly caters to the needs of everyone on the grounds. Completely spotless restrooms, enclosed laundry room, great Wi-Fi and lots of open space for your pets. I stayed 6 weeks in my pop-up camper. For me the Dollar General Store 11 miles away was good enough for all my weekly needs and those of Puggie my dog! - Nypoet
Mar 2015 - $15.00
The park is very open with spacious sites, all back-in. Mostly seasonal snowbird residents, but all very friendly. There is not much to do in the area except fishing but this is the perfect place to relax and unwind. The only downside is lack of a pool. Good Wi-Fi, but no AT&T service, others might have better reception. - Oldbillm
Feb 2015 - $15.00
Nice park, mostly permanent sites. Stayed for five nights, owners were very nice and they took Passport America during the winter!! Not much nearby, but we enjoyed the peace and quiet. Very friendly campers here. - Landyachty

Dec 2018 - $23.00
Access from road is rough, construction caused huge issues with grade and turning. Not their fault. Access road to campground has no signage once you leave the highway. Branches scraped the top of our coach in three places. Not their fault, as a county road, we were told. Packet of papers provided on checkin referred to restaurant with dinner menu included. No dinner is served at this restaurant. Details were also provided on sorting trash for recycling, and map with dumpsters was noted. No dumpsters exist. Office staff said they were all removed due to "illegal dumping". There is some schedule for picking up trash at your site. Small dog park was nice with benches and a shade tree. No grass, but nice enough. Driving range was reasonably priced, and golf pro was congenial. All sites are level, back in with easy hookups. No picnic table, nothing. Grassy with small concrete pad set too far back to use. Park is 95% snowbirds that have zero interest in the annoying transients. - DebbieT in Alabama
Feb 2018 - $40.00
Stayed 4 nites. Very nice campground. Most come here for golf. There is a boat ramp for access to river connecting lake Okeechobee or Tampa. Some park models, but not excessive. Restaurant on site but didn't go. - Long Island Mac
Apr 2017 - $10.00
We are annual lessees and have seen numerous improvements over the last year. Some projects move a little slow but eventually get done. The new owner has recognized that annuals are his bread and butter and is treating them fairly. Announced in writing last fall there would be no lease increase for 2017/18. Lots of amenities in the park (see their website) and recent newsletter listed more improvements are in the works. Office and park maintenance staff are friendly and helpful. - PT Traveller

Dec 2016 - $27.00
We "camped" at Whisper Creek from Mid December 2016 thru mid March 2017. We had site 451 in the "The Glenn", which is a grass site with a concrete patio. The park is well maintained by a great work-camper crew. The office staff is a work-camper/paid staff combination and are friendly and helpful. The shower houses are spotless and there is a full size laundromat on site. Whisper Creek has a very active resident committee, fully supported by management offering many activities and entertainment options. The residents who own their park models are friendly and welcome shorter stay residents. There is an inviting heated pool under a Lānaʻi (screened area). Many of the activities are very active and well attended. There are Shuffle Board and Pétanque (look it up) sessions and tournaments along with dances, karaoke, bingo, craft classes, Red Hat Women, bowling, lunches, dinners, etc. There is a end of season Festival Week that celebrates the residents with special activities, games, contests, and meals. In 2017 the week coincided with Mardi Gras with a Mardi Gras theme, which also included a Golf Cart Parade. The park also offers golf cart rentals. One note, the park was sold in 2016 and the new owners were in process of taking over the management of the park while we were there. - Indy Glenn
Apr 2016 - $16.00
We came here based on reviews. Big mistake. The maintenance crew was excellent. The office manager was rude, arrogant, and probably a lot of other terms. The season was rainy, very rainy. CG can't be blamed for that, but we found that the office manager was so bad that we couldn't get any help with mud ruts and just plain mud. We talked with a great many of the residents who maybe were afraid to complain for fear of retribution from this manager. The entertainment was great, but most of it had already been sold during the previous seasons to to residents who had permanent units. The term "resort" means to me a "mobile home" park with non-permanent residents who lived there full time. We had problems with mail, water being shut off with no notice, and sign tied to a pole advising to boil water until further notice. Without any personal notice to residents, quite a few times the electric was off. WiFi was poor at the best. We were told most places charged for WiFi- not so in my experience. - capemayal
Apr 2016 - $17.00
We stayed in The Glenns area of this park which comprises of large grass sites with full service. The campground host and staff were very friendly and accommodating. There are a number of long term residences here but they are all very well kept and the residents are friendly and speak highly of their experiences staying here. A very nice park and we will be stopping here again. - Irish2

Apr 2009 - $18.00
We kind of enjoyed this park for 2 nights. Inspite of the fact that it is out in the middle of nowhere, rundown and needs upgrading, we had a nice view of the estuary and enjoyed slamming the fish-cleaning house door to attract the large alligators to the dock. Also, a great wetlands bird-watching place. Some of the seasonal people were still there who were very friendly and told us that the park is almost full during season. They have a great clubhouse where they had an ice cream social and a resident bluegrass jam session. We would return for a few nights again if we are ever in the area. - Desertqueensb
Apr 2009 - $15.00
Park appears to be For Sale, Very rundown, low voltage power. Laundry all but defunct. Would not step foot in restrooms, let alone use them. No windbreaks makes a very windy park. Could barely see bottom of 4 ft swimming pool. Many, old, rundown RV's in this park. Only hard stand sites are in the parking lot, the rest is sand and gravel. There is no security gate so anyone can drive in. Water pressure is good. Club house but no activities that we could see. Fish cleaning house and boat docks. Park is very isolated with nothing around for several miles. We would not stay here again. It was a reduced rate park through RPI. - retditto

If I could give this Resort a higher score than 10, I would. This is their 1st full year....brand new.....& they are still building & adding on. All sites are brick pavers & all include patios & beautiful landscaping. Beautiful lake surrounded by a brick paver walkway. 2nd lake being added in the new section. All RVs except for the Park Model Village off to the side. This place is beautiful & has the nicest & most fun & welcoming people we've ever met. Dan & Lorraine, the owners are super accommodating & will do everything they can to make this place even better. We can't wait for next year. It will be a grand Homecoming. Coming next year will be an on-site Restaurant, General Store, an organic gardens. Already on-site is a Beauty Shop. - GrannyJ
Aug 2017 - $58.00
Excellent New RV Resort - They are still finishing this resort. It is about 2/3 complete. The sites are all full hook-up and are very large and very nice. There is plenty of room for large RVs along with whatever other vehicle you have (Tow or Towed). All of the sites are paved with pavers and will have tables and grills for your use. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is already one bathhouse and supposedly another on the way. The laundry room has four sets of large capacity machines. The meeting/clubhouse is just about complete. Stay at one of the sites along the lake for wonderful views of sunrise/sunsets, depending on which way you face. - ben31rv
Mar 2017 - $1.00
"Wow" is all we can say. This is a beautiful RV park. Not complete yet, but it's going to be an amazing first class park. Looking forward to next season returning to our paved site, gorgeous pool, organic produce mart, beauty salon and exciting activities right here on site. Brand new everything. Welcoming and spotless! Super friendly and family owned and operated. Feeling blessed to have our spot reserved. - HavingFunFromWisconsin
