Overall Rating:

Bay Lake Motorcoach Resort is a gated Class A ownership resort with several sites set aside by the management as strictly rental spaces. All rental sites (50-amp, water, sewer, weekly garbage collection by the city) have a very large pad made up of pavers and are nicely spaced from neighbors with grass and plantings between sites. Paved roads within the resort are wide and easily navigable for the largest of coaches, with no overhanging trees or other obstructions. Located at the registration building is a huge community room, game room, fitness center, theater room, laundry, kitchen, pool, and spa. (Registration takes place within the management's office, as there is not the typical registration desk set-up found at other resorts.) The resort is easily accessed from Exit 44 on I-4, and is off the frontage road; freeway noise is somewhat noticeable when outside, but not when inside your coach. The resort is located on Lake Mattie and has a private boat launch to the lake. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this tranquil resort (residents and guests are very quiet) and will definitely stay here again. Everyone we met was beyond friendly and made a point of meeting us and inviting us to activities happening at the resort. We used Bay Lake as our home base for many visits to DisneyWorld and the numerous attractions of the Orlando area. A wonderful, paved, bike trail (VanFleet Trail) is just a short distance away in Polk City. We camped at Bay Lake Motorcoach Resort in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $73.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed one week. Paid $508.25 ($72.61/night). The telephone reservation process was especially friendly and helpful. We called last minute and were grateful to be given the last site available. Our GPS got a little confused. Turn left by Love's gas station, drive behind and past it. A sign says "dead end" but you want to continue driving. The road will end at the resort entrance. It is very easy on/off the freeway. Check-in was easy, efficient and welcoming. We were escorted to our site. Our site (#262) has a casita but we did not rent/pay for the casita. Our pad was very (very, very) large, level and clean with pavers and lovely landscaping. Due to individual ownership, sites vary quite a bit. Some have nifty hardscape such as tiki huts. Upon arrival, it wasn't immediately clear where to park and check-in probably because it's an "owners" resort as opposed to an "RV Park". Drive forward and park inside the first circle you come to. The clubhouse will be obvious due to its large size. It's not a busy place and there is lots of space so you needn't worry about blocking the road. We were fairly close to the freeway and noticed some noise but not bad. For example, we were able to sit outside and watch tv without issue. We had a problem with the power. The staff sent a repair person who fixed it promptly. All other hook-ups worked perfectly. Good water pressure. Verizon cell, MiFi and DirecTV worked well. Mosquitoes at dusk are absolutely terrible. It seems they could spray for this. Single stream recycling for plastic, paper, cardboard, glass, aluminum and tin. Neighbors are mostly owners and are super friendly. It's no wonder why folks enjoy this park. It's a pleasant place to be. The location is a bit quirky. On the one hand the location is convenient being in between Tampa and Orlando but, the conveniences aren't close by. The nearest grocery store is about 10 miles away. We enjoyed our time here and would be happy to stay again. We camped at Bay Lake Motorcoach Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Get some fresh air and exercise on the Van Fleet State Trail which is a well-planned, paved pedestrian, dog-walking and bike trail. You can pick it up at the Polk City Trailhead 4 miles from the resort (plenty of free parking). There are rest benches, bike repair stations and restroom facilities (including water refill) along the way. Expect varied scenery (swamp, forest, cattle ranches, alpaca farm) and plenty of wildlife. We saw turtles and a wild mama pig napping with her babies.

Beautiful high-end Class A gated resort right off I-4. Conveniently located between Orlando, Lakeland & Tampa. Many sites are owned, many for sale, many undeveloped. Some owner sites are available for rental. Owner sites are very private, beautifully landscaped, some with tiki huts & casitas! Top notch new facilities & friendly people! This was our 2nd visit! Overall Rating:

This has the potential to be a fantastic RV resort. Awesome new casitas and all sites are well developed with wide pavers. Sites are beautifully landscaped. Next to interstate but no road noise. The only disappointment was that site maintenance seemed to be dragging a bit and the landscape (shrubs and lawned areas) were in need of some attention. The "on site"garbage containers on our site had not been collected in a while. Mosquitoes were wicked and we were not sure if they were spraying for them or not. But in all fairness, it is central Florida and some mosquitoes are to be expected. All that said this is a wonderful facility and anyone who visits here will likely be pleased. We camped at Bay Lake Motorcoach Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed on a private site at Bay Lake. The park is nicely situated between Orlando and Lakeland and there are other nice towns nearby. The entrance is off the road enough that it is fairly quiet, and it is nicely landscaped. The clubhouse is very nice, with a beautiful games room (nice pool table), big screen tv, gorgeous pool/patio/barbecues, well-equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge, card tables and a great laundry. The clubhouse was very well kept and clean, and there are various activities for those so inclined. There are friendly sales/rentals agents on site from Monday to Friday for your convenience. There is private access to a small lake from the dock on the property. The lots that have been sold are extremely well developed with brick pavers, beautiful landscaping, casitas (small residences) and lighting. There still remain quite a few lots for sale, but this is to the buyer's advantage as good prices can be negotiated. Overall, we really enjoyed the resort and would recommend it to anyone travelling through the area with a motor coach. We KNOW we will definitely stay there again with the wonderful folks who we rented from. The lot owners were very friendly and the setting was serene. Try Bay Lake, you won't be disappointed! The facilities are fantastic and kept up to date as well as very clean. They have activities daily and all the people who live in the park full time are very friendly and were quick to involve us in activities. One of the best parks we have stayed in. We randomly choose Bay Lake Motorcoach Resort, after a stay in Orlando. It must have been fate, since after we stayed for a week, we loved the area and the resort so much that we purchased land to park our RV and eventually build a small casita on the spacious lot. There were many reasons that we choose to do so. It is 20 minutes from Walt Disney World, so it is ideal for family to come visit and to be able to visit the park, the resort has a lovely, clean clubhouse with swimming pool, hot tub, game room, exercise room, etc., the other residents are very friendly and the resort is managed by a great team, who go above and beyond in terms of service and friendliness. After travelling with our RV for over 5 years, we have never come across a place that was as ideal as this place is. We have also met many people who rent a space and come back year after year. We wish we had found it sooner. We camped at Bay Lake Motorcoach Resort in a Motorhome.

We camped here in our Motorhome and it is a Class 'A' only coach resort. They allow building of up to 915 square feet 'Casitas' and Tiki Huts which greatly add to the desirability of this resort for possible permanent or seasonal use. We stayed on lot #126 'The Hideout' which had an outstanding Casita that the owner's allowed us to use. It is ideally located and a real find. We have been all over the country and this place has it all without the stuffiness and high cost of California's finest. 20 miles from Disney and close to Tampa and Orlando without the crowds. We camped at Bay Lake Motorcoach Resort in a Motorhome.

Bay Lake Motorcoach Resort is Florida's Best Kept Secret, located in the I-4 corridor at exit 44, 20 minutes from Disney, 45 minutes to Tampa. A gorgeous 12,000 sq ft. clubhouse with beautiful pool and hot tub area, well equipped exercise room, laundry facilities, movie theatre, craft room, stocked library (dvds too). On a large private lake with community boat ramp. We came here the first time in November 2012, came back again 2013/2014. The people in this resort are very welcoming and friendly. The facility is beautiful and the location is perfect with very easy access in and out. We would highly recommend anyone looking for a park in central Florida to check it out! We camped at Bay Lake Motorcoach Resort in a Motorhome.
