Unfortunately, the overall condition is deteriorating (we have stayed 3 times over 3 years). The restrooms and showers need some serious attention. On the plus side, the location is very good ... Walmart, Publix, and HomeDepot within 10 minutes ... excellent beaches within 45 minutes. - BruceVero
Feb 2017 - $160.00
Went there for a quiet time to rest and relax the noise from the interstate was horrible couldn't hear yourself think..also the noseeems bugs were bad couldn't hang out out side the camper. The people for nice and friendly...the boat ramp is bad - never maintained.... Probably won't go back there even for free.. - Camper goer

We were in a premium site but were still very close to I75. The noise from the highway is difficult for sleeping if you like it quiet. We left a day early because of that. You're also packed like sardines next to other RVs. You have to empty your own trash at the dumpsters by the exit of the facility. I would expect trash service at the rate they charge. Overall, the worst place we stayed at in our 3 month trek throughout Florida. - Lnskaye

The park is lush on the outer rings with most having water views. Great place to camp if you have dogs since there is a dog beach nearby in the park.. amazing,! - Sato

There are 3 loops. 1 for tents and small pop ups. 1 for some waterfront with any type of rig or tent. And 1 for any type of rig that allows for pets. We stayed on the pet loop. Some of the sites were wide and some were very tight. There are a couple of nice waterfront in the pet loop. We were in site 96 with a 27' TT. It was tight getting in around the low hanging limbs. Sandy/gravel surface, had to use leveling blocks. Once in the site it was adequate. We were right on top of our neighbors. Some foliage in between, but no privacy. Be aware no fire rings. You can bring your own ring or the camp store will rent a ring for $3 per night. It is just a large wash tub. Shower house was clean with HOT water. The shower house on our loop was laid out a little different than some of the others. We had 3 showers with a "staging" area before getting under the shower head so there was a bench to keep things dry. The shower house is open between the walls and ceiling so there are bugs and no AC or heat. Lots of really nice bike trails. You can bike to the fort area very easily. Once there the trails continue throughout the beach and fort area. 2 fishing piers with bait shop and gift shop. Snack bar. Camping receipt allows free entry into park. There were Kayak rentals, $23 for 1 hour for a single, which I thought was a little steep. But the area was beautiful to kayak. Unfortunately the wind caused the rentals to be closed while we were there. There is a gas station close by and Publix about 4 miles or so. Walmart was 8 miles. Lots of shopping and restaurants...but you have to pay a toll to come and go onto the main road. The camp store was well stocked. Staff was friendly. 2 dump stations. From the pet loop you had to exit the campground and come back to main road to get to dump station...not a big deal. According to others the fishing was great right from the waterfront sites and at the bridge by the store. - Jan Orlando

Jan 2019 - $112.00
Huge crowded park with many seasonal/permanent residents. That being said we had a nice back-in site (#32) on Long Bayou. However very little space to park tow in front. Not really satellite friendly as there are trees spotted all through park but we were able to make it work. Neighbors are close by. Nice concrete patio pad with picnic table. Excellent staff who were always available and helpful. Really nice paved walkway in front of park for bicyclists and walkers. Could walk or bike all the way into town. Also has kayaks and launching right on Bayou. Very convenient to shopping; Publix, Macy's, etc. Would stay here again. - Beachside Baby
Nov 2018 - $78.00
Stayed here for second time in the past year in our 40 foot MH. Good: Utilities, restrooms, laundry immaculate, pool/hot tub, staff, location Bad: some of the seasonal units are in need of repair/replacement. - GED
Oct 2018 - $51.00
We have stayed at this campground several times while visiting family and friends and each time we notice improvements they are making. This past year they reworked their utility connections in a large portion of the park so they are now on the proper side and sites don't share a pedestal. Many sites have new 20, 30, 50 amp pedestals with new water and cable hook up and relocated sewer connections. They have added an exercise area with equipment in the building near the pool along with new fencing around the playground. There is new patio furniture around the nice pool area and they recently completely renovated the restrooms by the pool. Staff has always been friendly and helpful. They do a good job keeping the park and facilities clean even during busy times. Trash picked up at your site. Fire pit and wood delivered to you. Well stocked camp store. There are some negatives. This is an older park so the pavement is worn and sites will require leveling. Typical of KOA sites are close together. Although it doesn't bother us it can get busy with families and kids on the weekends so just expect it. Overall the location for exploring the area and the beaches is great. Plenty of places to eat at and shop nearby. Given the limited choice of campgrounds in this area we find this one meets our needs the best. - 21fbrs

Gravel is only under the trailer, there's a concrete pad to step on and to set chairs on. The tow vehicle is parked on blacktop. Everyone is friendly, the park is very clean and their working to improve new sites. This is a adult park. It's close to the beaches, lots of restaurants and too many places for my wife to shop. When I come back to this area I will be coming here. We stayed for one week. - Lindas Old Man
May 2015 - $30.00
Over priced for it's location. Not in a very appealing neighborhood. Passport America list price was $24, but they charged $30 a night saying their price had gone up. Overall park well maintained and clean.
We will not stay here again. - Abner
Feb 2013 - $43.00
Rate reflects average for 16 days including weekly/daily. This park was excellent. We are most likely going to stay the winter there. Pet Friendly (even has a dog park), brand new pool about to open, efficient front office and maintenance staff, and welcoming residents. Even though many permanent folks are here, it has the feel of a vacation park. - Bay Area Early retirees

Stayed here for an overnight while visiting St. Pete area. For an overnight, it was OK, but would not stay a minute longer than necessary. The staff upon checkin was great; we were escorted to our site which was fine. Site was grass with a concrete patio the size of a postage stamp. The grass on the site needed mowing. Park had a lot of permanent/long term RVs and park models, some more run-down than others. The biggest issue was the noise from Gandy Blvd. which abuts the park. Even though we asked for, and were given, a spot on the interior of the park, the noise from cars and motorcycles drag racing all night was terrible...Walmarts are quieter than this place. I had to resort to ear plugs in the middle of the night. We will not return. - ajbettencourt
Mar 2017 - $45.00
We were looking for a place in St Petersburg to stay for my brother's wedding. This place served our needs perfectly. Reasonably priced, very clean, full hookups, and very pet friendly. Everyone was friendly, we enjoyed activities offered. We arrived after his IRS and we made a simple call and were greeted and escorted to our site. They were very helpful in assisting with hook ups and instructions for park. Water pressure was great. Showers very clean. Cement patios = less dirt drug in. Only downside for some may be no tv if short stay. We definitely will return. Thank you Roberts for a wonderful experience!!!!! - Jngdjg
Mar 2017 - $35.00
Despite an issue upon check in (the site we were first directed to had a rather permanent looking trailer already on it) overall we found this park clean & quiet. We were fully expecting to hear a lot of shooting from the skeet range right next door (as mentioned on previous reviews) however we did not. Sandy soil made for difficult leveling, and the sewer outlet positioning (right under bus) was less convenient also. There are a lot of trees in the park, and whilst nice, they drop a lot of leaves & a lot of pollen so be wary regarding use of awnings etc. we used leaf blower right before our departure so that we weren't hauling any of this away with us in our awnings. Most of the park seems to be full time residents & permanent trailers, but they're really tidily kept. We found this a very convenient location to St Pete (20 mins). Walkable distance to target, Walmart groceries, pannera bread, etc. Quite a large laundry facility we did not use however, and a tennis court, small pool, horse shoe & boules court. The clubhouse seemed to offer a fair few activities too though we did not partake in any. - leemhicks

May 2017 - $36.00
Needed a place to stay while attending a class for a week. The rate reflects a weekly rate plus 1 night. This is mostly a 55+/snowbird place with some RV sites, but was in close proximity to my class. It is not a camping" place. By and large there are a lot more mobile homes or park models. Having said that, it served my purpose well and was a nice place to stay. It was very clean and quiet. It's right at the end of season, but it appeared like there were a lot of activities during the season. Check-in was friendly, easy, and efficient. There is a security gate, and the park is close to shopping/restaurants. Now...the RV sites. Our 50 amp/FHU pull-thru site wasn't really a pull-thru. If your rig will turn on a dime, you can pull straight through. We had to back in, but will be able to hook up the toad and "pull out". The sites are close together. The WiFi is only at the rec hall/office, otherwise you'll need to pay for Tengo if you don't have your own. The cable TV was awful, so we used our OTA. We were able to get plenty of channels. Our site was gravel, and we needed to place boards under the jacks to keep them from sinking. However, we had no trouble levelling. There is a nice dog park and also plenty of space to walk the dog. We would return if in the area and need a site. - Gayle E.
Mar 2017 - $40.00
We stayed one week paying $278 weekly rate. The reservation process was easy. They collected 100% at time of reservation (certainly not my preference). The check-in process was efficient. We requested a pull-thru site at time of reservation and that's what we received. The pull-thru section is close to the busy hwy with plenty of noise from trucks, motorcycles, etc. The pull-thru sites are very close. We could not put out our awning. The rectangular spot to park your rig is rocky gravel while the area where you walk and park your tow car is dirt with dead/alive grass/straw which tracks into your rv. Putting out a mat will help but not completely. In hind sight (because we stayed a week rather than a couple of days), we would have preferred a back-in site "inside" the park (quieter, less dirt, more space). However, I can fully imagine some interior sites difficult to get in due to narrow roads. The facilities are clean. The dog park is very large. They have single-stream recycling which is great. The residents seem pleasant enough but keep to themselves. The surrounding neighborhood isn't the best. I would not run outside the complex by myself so I did loops inside the park (approx .65 mi per loop). About a quarter mile down the road, we witnessed a police altercation in broad daylight. An apparent druggie pushed a cop. The cop had the druggie face down and handcuffed in a nano second. It confirmed my instinct about the area. I should mention the park is gated and we saw nothing sketchy within. There is wifi at the common facilities but we didn't use it. No wifi offered at the site. Hook-ups worked well. We had good signal for Verizon cell, Sprint Mifi and DirecTV. My personal take - I didn't care for Largo and I didn't love the campground. If you stay long-term, it's probably a better experience. To me, there's a gazillion lovely (better) places in Florida to choose from. I won't be going back. - GottaGoNow
Mar 2017 - $40.00
Beware! Made a reservation for a pull-thru site & after checking in & running my credit card for the balance due for a two night stay, I was informed that a pull thru site was not available & sites are not guaranteed by "Sun Resorts", and pull-thru sites were for large rigs only - our coach is 40 ft. The back in site we were given was not available due to a tree being removed, so we took a walk around the park & found a small van camper in a pull-thru site. Went back to the office & complained& basically was told too bad. When the back in site was finally available, it took us 20 minutes to get in the site. Our neighbor needed to move his car, because we had to drive over half his site to make the turn into our site because the road was so narrow. Also our neighbor across from us had to move her lawn ornaments. Tire tracks indicated this needs to be done all the time. If you are going to stay for the season, I guess this hassel may be worth it to you, the facilities looked ok, we didn't use any. But if you're only staying a few nights & want a pull-thru sites, stay somewhere else. This is a definite "bait & switch " operation. - TravelingBaggs

I have lived here for almost 4 years and have been an excellent tenant, paid my rent on time and even ahead of time, maintained my site and made it look very attractive with fencing, flowers, etc. I had given my notice that I was going to move about 6 weeks ago although I wasn't sure if my job up North was going to last so I'd like the opportunity to return within 5 or 6 months if it didn't work out. The manager of the park told me that it was "policy" that I could "reserve" my site until September for a nominal fee as many other residents have done in the past. I thought that was very agreeable and proceeded to move my RV to another resort closer to my job. This weekend I returned to move some of my other belongings and straighten up the site so it looked presentable when the Manager and the Park Maintenance man came to my site and told me that I was to vacate IMMEDIATELY or they would start "the eviction process" for NO REASON!! This truly is the straw that encouraged me to write this review. During the past 4 years as a great tenant, over and over again the Management has contradicted what they say verbally a few days or weeks prior and then make up their OWN RULES as they wish. If they want you to move because they have a "more desirable" tenant in mind or want the site for themselves, then they just find an "excuse" to have you move, evicted or shunned from the park. I just want others to know that this IS NOT A PARK I WOULD RECOMMEND for LONG TERM tenancy. I'm sure you would experience the same that I have if you choose to live here! - One VG Couple
Feb 2017 - $27.00
Nice , quiet RV park. Sites weren't too bad compared to several that we saw. Staff was friendly and very visible throughout our stay. Pool was clean and warm. Hot tub was also on property but we didn't use it. Wi-Fi was available in hot spots up near the laundry and rec room. - Bompa1954
Jan 2012 - $40.00
Very nice park. Owners extremely accommodating. We were able to get a spot at the height of their busy season. W/E/S easy to get to and worked beautifully. We were right across from pool and hot tub/spa. Our site was very long, but extremely narrow. Could not open our window awning on our LR slide without hitting neighbor. Could only open full awning if site next to us was empty. Less than 5 feet of walking space between sites. Nice laundry facilities, heated pool, spa, bocce courts, deck shuffleboard and paved roads for bike riding. Very convenient to shopping, attractions, beaches, restaurants. Except for proximity of sites, it's a nice park. Would stay again if just for a few nights. - usamacdonald2

RV section roads are rough. Low hanging branches. Park is old. Manager is trying to fix it up. There are a lot of working class and old people who live here year round. The people who live here year round are OK. They take over the pool and clubhouse on the weekends. Pool was greasy from suntan lotion. - Travelin' partners
Jan 2011 - $35.00
There wasn't much of an area for a dog walk, and other people didn't pick up after their pets. The sites are tight and close together, making it difficult to get into your site. Restrooms and laundry room could be cleaner! The Front office staff was nice but could be a little more personable and smile more. The lady who cleans, needs to deep clean more often! The pool was not working properly in the 3 months we were here. Long term people had to rake and bag there own leaves to have a nice yard. The trees are over grown, blocks satellite service. Disorganized reservations: when we arrived our site was taken by someone else, no one around to help us. - stonewood1
Jan 2009 - $40.00
Sites are small, buildings are old & in need of replacing (not repair). Security is non-existent, with no weekend office hours. Pot holes can swallow an RV. More damage was done inside my RV driving in the park than in 6000 miles to South Dakota & back! - postaldaddy212

Worst camp ground I have stayed at in the last 20 years. Site was so small, I could not fit between sewage hookup and concrete patio. I could not put out any of the slide-outs. Tree branches scratched the sides of the coach. Lots of branches rubbed roof too. No grass at all on the site. Young men on motorcycles driving around park most of the night. Lady in a 40 year old park model next to our site played music ALL NIGHT and load enough to hear it in our coach. we didn't sleep much so we just got up at 7 am and went home. - Mike And Jan
