To start with - if you are in a large DP and staying less than 1 week - they will put you in the Village Park section. That alone should be enough reason not to go there. If, however, you are staying for more than 1 week, they will put you in the Preserve Estates section. That is a totally different area that was specifically designed for large RV's and is very well laid out. Unfortunately, we were staying less than 1 week so we were told that was not available to us. The entire Village Park section of 142 lots only had 2 small size Gas Class A's and for good reason. The streets are very narrow with branches overhanging in some areas. Cable has 15 channels and there is no WiFi. If we had been put in the section designed for Class A's - our review would be much more positive. The staff are friendly and the grounds are very well kept. Now back to our site - there was a picnic table that was very small and had to have been there since the Civil War. The spacing was "okay". But certainly not very spacious. Way overpriced for what we got. Calling it a "Resort" doesn't make it true. You need modern amenities. We camped at Wilderness RV Resorts at Silver Springs in a Motorhome.

We have stayed here numerous times. The property remains about the same: very clean and secure. However, the amenities have become abbreviated. Contractors park their equipment in the interior roads, obstructing passage. There is no wifi except in the lodge, and cable TV is very limited; nothing worth watching. Our site was good, spacious, and level, and utilities worked well. For this price, however, complete amenities are to be expected. We won't be staying here in the future, unless it's the only choice. We need more than they offer. We camped at Wilderness RV Resorts at Silver Springs in a Motorhome.

The sites have no picnic tables, and no WIFI in the park except in the lodge. The concrete pads in the slum section are so small the last step out of the camper leads to a mud puddle. There is also no place to park a tow vehicle and the entire lot is mud. Mud is everywhere in the park along with standing water. The puddles in front and back of our camper were a few inches deep and were there the entire month. The park only has one nice section and the others are akin to a bad area of a large town. The slum sections have narrow and worn out roads with water holes everywhere. No improvements have been made for years and it is in ruins. The park supposedly has a rule where no campers older than 10 years can stay there but the sections apart from the newer area (some of them also had old junk) are full of 20 year old pieces of junk. Many sites are very uneven and people are forced to take extreme measures to level their units. There is no trash service and only one dumpster. The bathrooms have not been cleaned in months and are full of black mold and the showers are covered with caked on water deposits. The water has a high sulfur content and smells like rotten eggs. The highway in front of the park is very busy and heavy traffic can be heard 24 hours per day. The park quiet time is supposed to end at 7 am and lawnmowers and weed eaters are running at 7:30. The entire park was without water for an entire afternoon due to the single water main servicing the entire area. The park is covered with fire ant mounds and nearly all the electrical connection pillars have mounds which is dangerous. The water connections are a single piece of flimsy pipe and they all leak. There is nothing in the area to do without driving long distances and the overall park is very inactive. Everyone has a dog so the main activity is watching people pick up after their dogs. They also allow vicious dogs in the park because we saw a person with a Pit Bull in his golf cart. We camped at Wilderness RV Resorts at Silver Springs in a Fifth Wheel.

Large property and plenty of space to walk the dog. Plus a large dog run. All utilities ok - but I could only get wifi in clubhouse. Clear sky for sat. Library in clubhouse for trades. Cold so did not use the pool, but it looks very nice. Huge laundry. Narrow sites. We camped at Wilderness RV Resorts at Silver Springs in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Mix of park models and RV, three sections, the newest is all concrete pads and no shade - but appears to be for sale lots only. One section is almost all park models. The oldest section is a mix of grass and concrete pull through or back in sites. These vary from very tight to spacious. Some are level, some are not. Needed to use extension cord, as tree location had us pull forward to be able to get slides out. (But we liked having trees). One of our friends had a spot that they had to park in backwards to keep the rear wheels on the ground, with pads on the front. Interior roads very narrow. Pleasant place, well treed, seen better seen worse. Large fire pit, 2 community centers. Transient wifi in community center only. Wifi throughout for long term residents that subscribe to local service. We camped at Wilderness RV Resorts at Silver Springs in a Motorhome.

Park very clean, secure and well kept. Although it has many full time lots it is still a nice place to stay for a short or longer visit. Good location if you want to visit Silver Springs as its only a few minutes away. Also just a few minutes away from good restaurants, gas and groceries. Has a breakfast and candy store on site. Site had easy access pull through and level asphalt. Make sure you pull up far enough if your going to put out your awning or it will stick-out in the street as site are long but fairly narrow. Tips for other Campers:

Definitely go visit Silver Springs National Park. If you can, rent a canoe or kayak to really take in its beauty. You can also bring your own and it only cost $2 park entry. If you rent it is between $15, $20 or $30 dollars depending on how much time. Entry to the park is only $2 and an additional $10 if you want to do the glass bottom boats which is also a must see!

Overall Rating:

Check in was pleasant and we were escorted to our site. The site had NO SHADE and no ambience. Totally boring. Had to drag a broken picnic table from another site to use. And cable tv is pathetic. You get NBC and CBS that comes and goes. 6 other stations that are not ones you would watch unless you like Petticoat Junction. Very Disappointing Campground. Roads are narrow and was told the owner is CHEAP. Pool looked nice but not heated. Stay at Silver Springs State Park and have a PLEASANT CAMPING EXPERIENCE. We had a great time at Wilderness RV Resorts. When we arrived a super nice guy showed us to our site and told us everything we needed to know. There were a lot of full timers in there, most were very friendly. The Town Park area is the best spot to stay if you are under 55. There are 3 pools, one in each section, so nothing is over crowded. They have a nice game room and laundry room also. And the whoppie pies are amazing! The only negative I have is there are no picnic tables, so bring a table. We camped at Wilderness RV Resorts at Silver Springs in a Fifth Wheel.

I stop over for a day going deeper into Florida. This last stop will be the last time I ever go there. I hope every year it would improve, but it does not. Wifi is terrible, only access in club house. Cable is terrible only get 22 channels, and they are channels you wouldn't watch. Water smells badly, we won't drink it. So, never again will I stop there and review this park. We camped at Wilderness RV Resorts at Silver Springs in a Motorhome.

This park is one of those mobile home/rv park hybrids. It is kept very clean, and all units are well-kept. However, for a bigger rig like our, the interior roads are VERY narrow ad the sites are also smallish. You can only access their WI-FI if you are in one certain building or very close to it. Cable TV quality was simply horrible. We went to OTA because most cable channels were unwatchable. They were kind enough to let us use their clubhouse, but to enter it we had to walk by a grease recycling thingie that just REEKED like methane. There is a nice little cafe just outside the gate that had pretty decent at reasonable prices. We camped at Wilderness RV Resorts at Silver Springs in a Motorhome.

Stayed a week here and would have been happy to stay much longer. Lovely park. It was full. Majority of lots owner occupied by snowbirds. Areas with park models and class A's only. On site is restaurant, candy shop, fitness center, laundry facilities, propane filling, walking trails, dog parks and 3 pools. Only negative was no wifi and few snowy cable channels. Park has declined a bit since I last stayed there. It used to be a 55 plus but it is not. A motor home can only get into the preserve part if you stay 1 week or more. The village part where we stayed is very tight in places. Water smells terrible, had no wifi, it has been down for months, cable TV got fixed when we arrived, only 12 channels. I don't think I will stop there anymore, heard it was up for sale. We camped at Wilderness RV Resorts at Silver Springs in a Motorhome.
