Overall Rating:

Large park with 175 rv sites which are a mix of pull through, back in and pull in sites. There are two 30 amp W/E sites, eleven 30 amp FHU sites, and the remainder are 30/50 amp FHU sites. All sites have cable and picnic table, and some have fire pits. There are three camping areas, The Grove, The Pond and The Oasis. We stayed in site 153, a pull through FHU site in The Oasis, which is the newest section of the park (about 2 years old). All of the sites in this section are double wide and comprised of brick pavers. Sites in The Grove and The Pond are all gravel, but some have a concrete patio. Interior roads were nicely paved (but gravel over asphalt base in The Oasis) and although a bit winding, were easy to navigate. The park has nice amenities which include a heated salt water pool, large clubhouse, playground, two dog parks (including a separate large/small dog park), rv storage, community bonfire area, 2 laundry areas and fitness center. The bathrooms in the Oasis section were newer and clean, and consisted of 4 private toilet/shower combinations. Laundry area had four washers and four dryers ($2.25 each) and worked great. Propane sold onsite and daily trash pickup from your site. No dump station, however. Dollar General is next to the park and an easy walk for anything you might need. Very friendly and helpful staff. Park accepts mail deliveries. Utilities worked well, but we had issues with cable every time it rained. Verizon signal was good. Free wifi offered was pretty slow, but you can pay $24.99 per month to upgrade to faster wifi. We just used our Verizon hotspot. Price reflects monthly rate. We enjoyed this park and would return. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Highly recommend buying trolley tickets directly from the park. They are $25 per person, are good for three days (consecutive), and the trolley picks you up directly from the park. Parking is free after 5 p.m. at the Castillo de San Marcos parking lot if you want to visit St. Augustine in the evening or just grab dinner.

A well-run, beautiful RV park that was reasonably priced with the Passport America discount. Highly recommend when visiting St. Augustine. We had no problem with our 45' big rig. Cable and wifi. Pool. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Motorhome.

We were located in The Oasis section which is the newest part of the park. All of the sites there were beautiful red brick pavers and were twice the width of my motorhome, plus a nice picnic table. The pull through sites were long enough to fit my 41' motorhome, tow dolly and vehicle. Well maintained grass. Paved roads throughout the park. Older sections were gravel, some with concrete patios. Their cable (Dish) hookup was iffy. Often could not get local channels or got them on one TV but not another. A bit pricey for Florida in the summer but with military discount it was more reasonable. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Motorhome.

Old Town Trolley in St. Augustine was an excellent way to see the whole town. We were able to load and unload my husbands motorized scooter at some of the stops. Staff was most helpful. St. Augustine Distillery had the best tour and tasting ever and it was free.

Stayed 6 days in a 43' motorhome to meet up with friends to visit St. Augustine. Easy on/off from I-10. Friendly, efficient check-in, staff had all paperwork ready and did not need to get out of coach. All interior roads are nicely paved - Big rig friendly, easy to navigate. Two sections - front section is a mix of gravel or concrete sites, PT/back-ins w/wo shade; back section is new and all sites are double-wide pavers, FHU PT/ back-in, buddy sites with and w/o shade. Escort to back section site 158 (buddy site), FHU, level pavers pad with cable, picnic table and manicured grass with lots of space between sites. Our friends were in site 159. This made for a great experience. All utilities worked well. Good ATT signal. WiFi (did not use). Our section has a bldg. complex with immaculate restrooms and showers (did not use), exercise room, laundry room and adjacent Dog park with doggie bags. Garbage pick-up daily. We used the following: There is a nature trail that winds around the park; CG has a large, comfortable pool area and clubhouse upfront by main office; Saturday morning 8am-10am breakfast is available in clubhouse ($5 donation), evening is a movie and Sunday afternoon ice cream social ($1/scoop). There are numerous clean, A/C restrooms/showers throughout park. There is a trolley stop at the CG that will take you to St. Augustine. We opted to drive. Close to restaurants, shopping and fuel. We were able to use a BOGO special... CG is on the expensive side but compared to other CG's in area Compass is a great experience and the best option. When in this area will stay again. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Motorhome.

We stayed here 2 nights a week apart. The 2nd night was $47 with Good Sam discount. Very nice pool and friendly hosts. Trolley stop in park for sightseeing. The shower room was in back of park not near pool. Shady sites. We just overnighted, close to I-95. Also close to sightseeing. Have host for after hours checkin. This is a Sun RV resort, in a convenient suburban (not rural) location only 4 miles from the Savannah historic district. The front of the park is older, more shaded, with gravel spaces and most have concrete patios. The back part of the park looks very new, sites are all concrete pavers but less shade. Satellite reception is unlikely, but they have a fantastic cable system that provides both analog and digital HD signals in a wide variety of channels. If all parks had a system this good I would never have to use satellite again. The wifi signal was strong but the performance was barely adequate...better to use our phone hotspot. There are a number of spaces set up for buddy sites, where two rigs can face each other. The two dog parks are very nice, the larger one is set up with agility features. The pool and pavilion area are very nice, as is the playground area for the little ones. The entire park is immaculately kept, not so much as a stray piece of litter was seen. Landscapers and maintenance people were out in force keeping the place in top shape. Every staff member that we met was pleasant and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Compass RV Park and will definitely use it the next time we're in St. Augustine. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Motorhome.

Great park, handy to rt 95 without the noise. It's a short drive to downtown St. Augustine (about 10 minutes). The park is well laid out ,quiet, neat, shady and well maintained. They even have buddy sites! We were in the oasis section, nice pull-though, pavers great power, well placed sewer connections, good cable. We had a problem with the cable but the employees showed up right away and tracked down the problem to our connections. We replaced them and all was right with the world. Many sites had fire rings. We didn't but at 80 degrees we didn't need one. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Big Bills diecast store has over 14000 diecast cars, trucks, busses, plains etc. if you like that stuff and there are plenty of antique shops all around it. Its just north of the fountain of youth. la Strada is a tiny italian restaurant with great food and atmosphere. Its over on the island . It worth the ride . If you love the ocean take the scenic tours line around the harbor. Its well narrated and if you sit in the bow on the lower level you will get the breezes and still be in the shade.

The ONLY reason that I didn't give this park a solid "10" was because our site was gravel, with a large concrete patio. We usually like ALL concrete or paver, but the site was very level and had a lovely view! The only other issue, which isn't the park's fault, is that we had full afternoon sun. However, on cooler days, it felt wonderful to sit on the patio with our back to the sun. The shower building in the "new oasis section" is lovely, so we used those showers as opposed to the older, but still clean, ones near us. The ladies at the front desk were always very busy, but never too busy to help you or answer your questions when you stopped in. We loved the shuttle that picked up right at the campground, and gave us three days for the price of one on their trolley service around downtown ST. Augustine. The traffic was heavy for the most part, and congested as you approached the beach, but a wide range of shopping was within 2 to 10 miles of the park. We checked out other RV parks nearer the beach, but none had the cleanliness and spaciousness of this park. I'd definitely return, but ask to be located in the new Oasis section where it's all paver and asphalt. Be sure to purchase the trolley tickets at the front desk at the RV park, as you receive 3 days for the price of 1 day there. The shuttle picks up at 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Many days, we had the 9:00 a.m. shuttle to ourselves, so he dropped us right off at our first stop instead of the trolley transfer at stop #1. Very convenient!!! We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Motorhome.

This was our very first trip in our new RV and the perfect spot for it. We were a little scared about backing up our 31 ft RV so we selected a pull thru and it worked out great. The staff were so helpful and I think knew we were newbies. Our site was on a curve with woods behind so our dogs loved it. Full hookups and all worked well. Very clean with three different areas for RVs. They had a fire one night supplying ingredients for SMores which was fun and the next night a local band planned. Make our first experience a memorable one. There is a dog park, pool, and game area. They also serve breakfast on Saturday for $5 a person which was very good. Being our first time the Dollar Store with a short walk was visited by us a few times and is stocked well. There is also a gas station by entrance. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Motorhome.

Wonderful place to stay. Sites were spacious. We stayed in the newer area which had paver pads. It was near the gym and dog park which was nice. Close to downtown. The only negative is the wifi capability. We paid for faster speed and still not able to work efficiently. Had to use our hot spot which was also poor (we have ATT). Because of the bad wifi we will not come back here again. Bring wood for the fire pit and your cable hook up. There is cable for TV for extra channels. We stayed for a month in the new section in the back of the park (Oasis). Very nicely landscaped and nice pull thru sites with paver pads. Small dog park in the center. It feels pretty crowded in the center pull thru sites, as the roads in between are pretty narrow. The outer back in sites might feel a bit roomier although they seem to be pretty close together too. The park has lots of organized activities - weekend buffet breakfasts, live music, group campfires, etc. They also offer a slight discount on downtown trolley tickets and shuttle from the park to the trolley station. With all of that said, it's a nice place to stay when visiting the St. Augustine area. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

The park was well maintained and clean. However, the cable was not very good. Complained at the office but they never really did anything about it. They said the problem was with our RV but we never had a problem before staying at this campground, and another camper next to us also had problems. Their response to a reported problem was not great. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice campground for our RV Rally. Excellent clubhouse with all amenities required for our get togethers. Park is divided into three sections with varying amenities so contact them to discuss your requirements. Sites in The Grove area were quite close together with no privacy but convenient to everything. Perfect location for visiting St. Augustine - shuttle stops at the campground to take you to town. Nice weekend social events that our group was invited to attend, i.e. continental breakfast, ice cream social and Saturday night campfire/local entertainment. Very clean and welcoming pool, game and fire pit area. Convenient Dollar Store right at the entrance to the campground. The only thing that would have made it nicer is if all of our RV Rally Coaches were parked together. We were spread across the park. Purchase St Augustine Trolley tickets at the office. Cheaper than downtown. Ride the Trolley to see all that St Augustine has to offer - it's hop on/off making it easy to see everything! The Ice Plant Restaurant at The Distillery serves excellent local farm to table selections. PizzaAlley was also able to accommodate our large group for lunch very easily with excellent service - everyone's food came out at the same time - AMAZING!
