Basically a big open field with a few newer trees, a couple older trees, a poorly maintained community building housing laundry/shower and restrooms. Restrooms were not clean and there was no TP. This is a no frills fishing destination although because of increasing pollution in the Suwannee the fishing has been going downhill. Biting gnats or noseeums were nasty. There are some interesting back roads and small towns in the area worth visiting. Some birding but not so much this time of year. - Wereapair
Jul 2009 - $21.00
We camped here for two nights. This is a great campground to stay in Suwannee if you are a fisherman. It is rustic and not used much as evidenced by lack of campers. There were a couple RVs that were obviously long term residents. They advertised cable and there were connections at the site but after trying three different connections from other sites I gave up. There was cable with a TV in the rec room so we caught the news there. There is no Verizon phone service there and we barely were able to get a Verizon Air Card computer connection for a short time at night. All sites were pull through and were level. We caught fish and used their nice fish cleaning room. Grab a site, go in to Suwannee and pay your camping fee at Suwannee Realty. Remember to get the combination to the laundry room. - RonAllen

Great place to stay. A little rustic but and the water stinks but can be a very relaxing place to sit on a small beach and let the kids run wild. - Scott2474
Feb 2013 - $20.00
This beachfront campground is administered by Dixie County within the Lower Suwanee National Wildlife Refuge. This is a breathtakingly beautiful place on a white sand beach, but apparently it is heavily used for local partying on the weekends, and as a result there is trash everywhere. We picked up multiple bags of trash during our 4 day stay. There is a bathroom with flush toilets and 1 shower that has hot water: not very clean. There is no potable water, WiFi, or cell phone reception. There is a dumpsite and a brand new fishing pier. Come with a good stock of water and groceries, because the nearest shopping is at least a 30 minute drive. The only noises here are the wild hogs rooting in the bush, and the tide splashing up on the beach. The fee quoted is for non-county residents; residents pay $10. - Wereapair

This small park is well worth the money. During our 2 night stay we had the place to ourselves. The caretaker was friendly and helpful, the park well kept and clean. It's a bit off the beaten path and you should definitely stock up before you get there because there's not even a Dollar store in sight. Directional signage was adequate, we had no trouble finding the park. The site surface was well packed limerock. Even though we had a couple of really heavy rains, we had no trouble with standing water. Our trailer is a 26 footer and we had plenty of room. Really large RVs may be a bit cramped. Be advised that this campground does not accept reservations and payment is cash only. We would definitely stay her again. - Deep South
Apr 2014 - $15.00
This is a county campground about 9 miles or 15 minutes outside of Cedar Key. It was very hard to find information on it and to find the location. The campground is inside the Lower Suwannee National Wildlife Refuge. There are some great, short hiking trails in the Refuge, just a short distance from the campground. There is an on-site manager that you register with and pay the fee. Cash only. The price is certainly right for a 30 amp and water site. The sites are dirt with a somewhat haphazard arrangement. The 30 amp was strong and allowed us to use our air conditioner. Since it is along the water the no-see-ems and mosquitoes are a real presence. Many of the sites would not be suitable for RV’s or it would be very hard to level. There are about 8 good sites. When we were there we had about 4 other RV’s and 4 or so tent campers. There is a busy boat ramp in the park and boats, including noisy air boats, go out at various hours, but we did not find that a big problem. There was quite a bit of late night music during our visit without a lot of presence from the on-site manager. We were able to get satellite without a problem and that would be true at most sites. Our Verizon phone and data were marginal. There is a dump station but you have to look carefully. You need to remove a chain across a drive near the restrooms and back in to dump. A bit strange but it worked OK. If visiting the Cedar Key area we would likely stay here again. With the cost and location it is hard to beat. - TheJim

This campground is administered by Levy County in the Lower Suwanee National Wildlife Refuge. It is small and well-kept, with friendly office staff. The campground is very close to the water, but not right on the shore. Extremely quiet. Clean restroom and shower building. The Refuge offers hiking trails, fishing, birding, kayaking, and an archaeological site (the shell mound) There are new fishing/birding decks. We had excellent cellphone coverage and MiFi reception here. Close to the town of Cedar Key, but stock up on supplies at Chiefland on your way down. Length of stay here is limited to 7 nights. - Wereapair

We stayed during a pretty low season, which was great! We stayed on the interior, however, there was no one behind us so we ended up with a view of the Suwannee River. Pool area, walking around the park and walking to the river were all very nice. We had a nice shady spot and it felt we were in our own yard as the foliage surrounded our lot. No picnic table or fire ring on the lot. - locatjl
Sep 2017 - $29.00
River front sites are for pull-in RV's, so if you have a travel trailer or 5th wheel you'll need super long hookups that will run across your site. No one was in the office when we arrived with a reservation about 3pm. Instructions were posted for us (& appreciated) but the wifi code was omitted. There are lots of shade trees. Restrooms/showers are individual rooms & most were locked. Sites & roads are packed sand. Bring ant and mosquito spray. Cable TV must be Direct TV, and we lost our channels during a thunder storm. Heavy mosquitoes & lots of tiny ants, so be prepared for that. No discounts are offered. No picnic tables on any of the sites. Just not for us. We would not return. - R&S

Excellent location on the "Nature Coast" of Florida. Cedar Key is a nice, relaxing area with excellent restaurants, bars, craft stores, etc. Also, lots of festivals, and other activities, with an hour's drive. This park is very nice. The staff is wonderful, the sites are larger than most commercial parks, very quiet, full hook up, and paved sites. This is our second time here and we will be back - ben31rv
Nov 2018 - $65.00
Very strict rules. No parking on grass...but the grass is weeds and sand spurs. Many of the regulars complain about the new management. Due to the holiday we decided to leave a day early. We asked for a credit for one night and were refused. Even though there was plenty of room only one car at a site. - Skipp
Jul 2018 - $23.00
We spent 2-months over the winter and 3-months the prior winter at this resort. Many of the sites can handle larger RVs, the reason we initially chose the resort was their site size (larger than what you can typically find otherwise in Florida). Downtown Cedar Key and the general area is interesting, it has some restaurants and things to do, otherwise the location is a little remote (i.e., if you want a good grocery store (in my opinion) you need to travel an hour, there are options closer but they are limited); however there are some great local places to purchase clams and oysters. This resort is quiet and prettier than many other commercial campgrounds/resorts we have stayed at in Florida. The resort also has many very nice regulars (some who own lots here), who seasonally stay at the resort. - 2FullTimersinaFifth

Jan 2019 - $29.00
This is clearly an older park, but reasonably well maintained. If you're looking for a "glamping" experience Angler's isn't for you. The staff was friendly when you can find them. Office hours were somewhat erratic. All utilities work well. Electric was stable, water pressure a bit low, sewer port clean and conveniently located. The campground WiFi was pretty good, although it would get overwhelmed from time to time. Our site was close to the "main" road which as main roads go wasn't very busy so road noise wasn't really an issue. The interior roads in the campground are pretty rough making speed bumps unnecessary. We were parked in a row of fairly shabby rigs that looked like they'd been here awhile. Not a bad place overall, but after looking around we discovered a few places that would have suited us better. I doubt we will stay here again. - Airstreamers
Jan 2018 - $39.00
This was our first year as a snowbird and Angler's RV Campground was our first stop for a month. Our site was level and shaded..although January I wished it were sunnier :) had a nice pad to it. People were very friendly..although due to the temps didn't see to many outside (23 one morning) Liked our site..but not really suitable for our RV because of the number of slides we had so we couldn't back further due to a pole that was there and it would have interfered with our slide so the front of our RV was pretty close to the camp road.Liked the fact that no one was in back of us for privacy and although the main road was there it wasn't to noisy for us. They allowed boats on the sites if they were big enough as many campgrounds do not..unfortunately we didn't bring our boat. Nice dog park..Very quiet during the night. restrooms were all inclusive (toiliet/shower/sink) so you had your privacy. Store was well equipped with RV items if needed (which we did) so it saved time going 25 miles or so. Propane you could get on site also. Had a cable that you could attach to that was attached to a very high antennae for over the air channels..although we could only get NBC as a main network station Wifi we could not get at our site..so I used my 4G...A few dinners for activiites.. My suggestion is if you like TV..get some sort of satellite (which we plan to do) or have unlimted data on your cell phone to watch on your PC's. telephone signal was strong with AT&T. I will make reservations the next time we come to Fla for the winter. - bsblindab
Oct 2016 - $17.00
We paid the Passport America rate of $16.50 a night for our two night stay. This is not an RV Resort and does not claim to be one, the hookups were good and sites were fairly level. We had no problem getting level, we did put blocks under the rear jacks, front jacks were on gravel. Hard packed gravel roads are bumpy, but no problems at slow speeds. We pulled thru an empty site and into a nice large grass / gravel site with a concrete patio and picnic table. WiFi signal was strong, but the bandwidth was pretty much maxed out during our stay. Usable, but not the best that we have had. Very friendly and helpful check in and we were led to our site. There is no cable here, they do have an antenna feed to the sites that works somewhat like cable. We picked up several networks and a weather station which was important as we fled the FL east coast when Hurricane Matthew was passing by. Very quiet at night. Anglers makes a very nice base for visiting Cedar Key. Overall we had a very nice stay and would not hesitate to return. - Bob and Inga

Awesome ‘real’ old Florida. Very quaint with nice decorations and all the amenities you would expect from a large corporate RV resort. - vwkeen
May 2018 - $42.00
Sunset Isle RV Park is a nice little place. Nothing fancy, but everything you need. Office and staff are efficient. Grounds are worn down a bit; sites are gravel with scraggly grass in between. Hit or miss with how much space you get. Along the waterfront it is very tight...couldn't open our awning due to trees and our back neighbors were essentially sitting under our slide out. But other sites seemed to have a little more room. We were fortunate to check-in on a Monday when the park was fairly empty. Took several attempts to negotiate the back in and only able to do so by pulling into/through empty sites. After the park filled, no way. Sites are also short, which means trucks parked sideways in front of the rigs, reducing maneuver area even more. Small clubhouse, small showers, but clean and tidy. Main selling point is it's location on the waterfront with a dozen sites backing right up to the tidal bay/marsh. Kayak launching very easy. Tide range 2-3 feet with many exposed mud bars at low tide. Cedar Key is a quirky, quaint cute little village that blends old Florida laid back with a bit of touristy tack. Only one market in town, otherwise a 45 minute drive to closest real grocery. But the market had pretty much all you'll need...watch the produce tho...they get deliveries on Mondays and by Friday some of the fresh isn't so fresh. Several waterside fish houses on Dock Street which is about a block long and has half a dozen eateries. - Todd Hancock
Mar 2018 - $50.00
Nice location, easy biking distance from Cedar Key attractions. Small restaurant on site. Waterfront sites available. Friendly and always available staff. Pet friendly. We stayed for 7 days and were sorry to leave. We've made reservations for next year! Only about a third of the sites are capable of handling 40' Class A coaches, with less that can handle 44 or 46' ers, but the owners do a nice job of laying out the sites. Utilities, water, electric and sewer are up to date. Did not use cable TV, but it was available. Book early in high season (Nov thru end of March). - One the Rhode

If you are looking for any view, don"t stay here. The lack of maintnance of hedges along the water inlet inhibits a view. The sites are not level and the last lot on the property is next to a seafood processing facility. There is no fence to separate the camping area from the facility, great view of rusted old equipment and odor to go with it. The bar is cute and the dock is OK. I made a reservation for 2 days and had intended to stay longer, but left after the 1st 1/2 day and didn't even ask for a refund just left. We were very disappointed. - cpdesign
Mar 2018 - $60.00
They have expanded the number of RV sites to about 9 now, mostly gravel with a bit of scraggly grass(likely to get sand in your rig) Very quaint little place and the small bar is quite an experience! Seats about 20 and it filled up both nights we were there, mostly with locals or some folks from other RV resorts. Heavy rains during our visit and there was quite a bit of water pooling all over the road and grounds. There is a nice dock extending over the water from which you can enjoy the sunset. Also a small deck along the edge of the campsites that is intended for all guests to use. The sidewalk to town begins just beyond the park - you can easily walk or bike to town where there are some quaint shops and dining opportunities. I heard about some fun and unique celebrations that occur at the resort - try to visit during one of them. Very unique place to put on your bucket list! - Nautical Wheelers

Great park in a great location. Staff was friendly and helpful. Like the trails. 8.5 miles of easy, lot to see hiking. The campground area and facilities are well maintained and clean. The boardwalk is great and provides a lot of sights in the swamp area and along the spring. Great for observing from above the manatee and fish. A good variety inhabit the area along the spring. Love the deer walking through the campsite in the morning and evening. - GDoug
Jul 2018 - $24.00
This state park is a gem! The park and campground are surrounded by lush forest crawling with wildlife. Deer romped thru the park. We also saw turtles, gators, but no Manatees. It was wrong time of the year for the Manatees. The springs were crystal clear and cold. Once you get used to the 72 degree water, the snorkeling was amazing. We stayed in the Magnolia loop that has full service. The restrooms were new and clean. The pull thru site was large enough for me to not have to unhook from our 34' 5th wheel, but we did so we could explore the park and the surrounding town. There is also a fire pit and picnic table at our campsite. The road in the campground was in need of some grading, lots of pot holes and tight turns. You just have to go slow and we had no problem navigating our 34' 5th wheel. We just took it real slow. Cell signal was poor at only 1 bar for both Verizon and ATT. Only phone calls and texts got thru. No DATA. If you travel the 2 miles to just outide of the park you get service. We got a handful of tv stations over the air. The park is about 6 miles from town with restaurants and grocery stores. - On the Road Again with Dave and Christie
Jun 2018 - $20.00
As another reviewer said it is hard to criticize this campground because of the price. Florida residents receive a 50% discount off the nightly rate. The access roads to the loops are paved, but the loop roads are dirt and seriously need to be graded. Campsites are level for the most part, some paved concrete, gravel and the rest dirt. Magonila loop has full hookup but the sewer connection is useless. It took me awhile to understand why the sewer connection was higher than ground level. If the sewer connections were at ground level and the natural spring overflowed, as it has in past years, the rising water would flood the sewer system. The sewer connection being a foot to a foot and a half higher than ground level makes it difficult to dump your holding tanks. The campground does have a dump station but there again the connection is higher than ground level. There is abundant wildlife to watch and enjoy. We experienced not problems with gnats or ticks. - Paythebill

Price is PA. Second time here. Place was nearly full. Nothing spectacular, but it is a nice, small adult park without a lot of rules. It is on a quiet road. No streetlights in the park, so it is DARK at night. Some sites are oddly shaped. There is adequate space between sites. Paved loop road is not a problem for big rigs. Tree limbs are trimmed back well. Wifi was adequate for email/social media. All utilities worked fine. Sewer connection on my site was angled and was raised well above grade, so I had to lift the hose when dumping. Would stay here again at the PA rate. - TH travelers
