I am always disappointed when an RV park tries to be everything to everybody. This one is a trailer park, a marina, a gold course, and an RV park. PRO: Sites are quite large. CON: Sites are very uneven. PRO: Nice clubhouse. CON: It was a half-mile drive from our site to the clubhouse. PRO: Cable TV. CON: Office said it can't work because Comcast came in a disconnected everything (???) PRO: Golf course. CON: It's an executive course --- and was closed. Hope my clubs had a nice trip. PRO: Roads are all paved. CON: Roads are narrow with some hard turns. Then there are the fifth-wheelers who park their large pickups partially in the streets. PRO: Nice lake view. CON: Not visible from most parts of the park Then there the CONs with no PROs to balance them out. (1) Campsites that are full of all kinds of trash. Next to the campsite of one of our rally friends was an old trailer (encroaching on our friend's site) and next to that was a ratty trailer with at least four motorcycles and a bunch of other junk sitting on it. No human to be seen. There was also an old beat-up, ratty school bus on another site. There just seems to be no effort to even try to clean up the junk in this park. (2) Pedestals in poor, rusty condition -- with stinging bees and wasps in them. Seriously -- nobody seems to ever check this out, and it's a problem in many poorly-run campgrounds. COMMENT: They are trying to solve the unlevel campsite problem by putting in concrete slabs. We were awakened our first morning here by the back-up beepers and roaring engines of the concrete crews at just before 7 PM. Maybe they can bury all the junk in too many campsites under them ! We camped at Fisherman's Cove RV Park at Lake Harris in a Motorhome.

This is where we stayed in the winter, the price was good for monthly rates, much lower than most others. Sites are tight and close but was not an issue because everyone abided by quiet hours and were all friendly. We had a good site but some will put a task on jacks because the park is built on the side of a big hill. This park is not fancy, but it is very reasonably priced and centrally located and in a good climate during the winter. We camped at Fisherman's Cove RV Park at Lake Harris in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you like to fish, bring your boat, it is right on two big lakes and both has BIG bass! Lots of places to go around park, lots of good restaurants all around. And not far from Orlando or Gulf of Mexico. Make day trips to explore all the surrounding areas, there is a lot to do and a lot to see.

This place is an odd assortment of nice sites and poor ones. There are a lot of weeds which need to be cut and a lot of sites need maintenance. Our site was dead grass and dirt which and not level. (The area is in a severe drought so the condition of the grass can't be helped but the weeds certainly could be cut.) We noticed many other sites which were quite unlevel, had lots of weeds and/or were scruffy-looking gravel. Most of the concrete pads looked good. The double concrete sites were newer but very expensive ($65). Wifi was iffy.

The main reason to stay here would be for lake access for a boat. There aren't that many campgrounds with lake access so that's probably how they can get away with charging so much. $47 per night with poor wifi, no cable, no patio, no picnic table is way too much. If we were back in the area we'd much rather stay in Mt Dora which we checked out and loved. We camped at Fisherman's Cove RV Park at Lake Harris in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Sites on the hillside are on roads which have steep turns onto the two roads which run up the hill. Do not try to make one of these sharp turns with a big rig. There's a loop around at the top of the hill which is easy to maneuver.

Pricing for the site was a very good value. We arrived after the office closed and no reservation packet was left for us. We found some one and they said just pick a empty site which we did. The closeness to Mt. Dora and other sites was a plus. It looked like they were fixing up the campground, but it was really hard to tell. On one hand the Pool and activity rooms were very nice. then in most of the back area of the park the sited were over grown and needed to be mowed. Some of the sited were long term renters most of which were well kept. If you want a place to stay and launch your boat the launch area was nice and there were boat slips as well. The campground has a lot of potential due to a partial lake view and mostly very low road noise. We camped at Fisherman's Cove RV Park at Lake Harris in a Motorhome.

Stayed here during non-peak season, so the park was pretty empty except for the permanent RVs some of which looked in poor shape. We were put in a grassy site up the hill in the back of the park. We asked if we could change to a site with a concrete pad, this was no problem and we weren't charged the extra $5/night. The site was fairly level, but many of the grassy sites did not look level and there are no picnic tables. The park has premium sites that are huge with a double concrete pad. There is a nice size pool, fitness room, small golf course, boat ramp that goes to Little Lake Harris and small camp store where you check in. The only wifi hotspots were in laundry area and fitness room. There is no cable. The laundry room was near the entrance which was inconvenient for us as we were far from it and the trash dumpster as well. There is a clubhouse which was locked probably due to the off season and the library which has some books for trade was oppressively hot as the air conditioner was off. The location is good for Leesburg, Tavares, Mt Dora and Eustis where you can find restaurants, grocery stores and other lakes. This park is probably very crowded during peak season and may be booked up way in advance. We found this park adequate. We camped at Fisherman's Cove RV Park at Lake Harris in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here August, 2015. Don't go here if you're looking for a "Premier" RV park. 80% of sites are occupied by mobile homes (and not very nice ones at that) making it more of a "trailer park". Cable is only available directly from cable company. Wifi is VERY weak unless you are right outside clubhouse. Don't think about golfing. Course is nothing but overgrown weeds. We camped at Fisherman's Cove RV Park at Lake Harris in a Travel Trailer.

We have a 40ft RV with four slides. We use our RV on the weekends. We do not bring a car, we use our bicycles and carry a Vespa scooter. We do not travel with pets or children. We use our own hotspot for Wi-Fi and have DirecTV so we do not need cable. What is important to us is a park that is in a safe area and quiet with working hookups.

Fisherman's Cove is in a beautiful area about 20min away from Mt. Dora. There is a great park right across the street for biking, jogging etc. The park is close to grocery stores, and Walgreens. The area is surrounded by lakes.

The site they gave us was a double paved on a hill with a view of the lake in the distance. We backed to a main road and a church but we didn't have issues with traffic noise. They had us away from other RVs, which is perfect for us. The roads are wide so we had no problems backing in or getting out. The staff is extremely friendly. There were four different men who work at the front area and every one of them was helpful and pleasant. We were invited to their fourth of July picnic which we attended. The staff and full timers were there and everyone was so nice.

Some of the negatives that didn't bother us but may bother others.

The grounds were a bit unkempt, with some weeds. We were there in July so that could be why. The map they hand out doesn't match the street names so that was a fun adventure trying to find our site. Some of the RVs were very old and not in the best shape. The bathrooms were better than a gas station but they have seen better days. The area is very hilly so be prepared for that. The site was level so it wasn't an issue for us. We camped at Fisherman's Cove RV Park at Lake Harris in a Motorhome.

Rennigers Antique, Farmers and Flea Market is about 20 minutes away. The winery is also close and offers tours. Mt. Dora is a great little town and that is also around 20 min away.

The premium sites are HUGE! Nice cement. Probably the largest sites we've ever seen. True, this park has a lot of permanents and a lot of RVs that are older but everyone was friendly and we felt safe. We walked the entire park everyday. A good portion of people who are here are interested in fishing. It was quiet at night and the premium sites are open to allow good satellite reception. It's located just far enough out of town to be quiet but close enough to be convenient to whatever you need. We camped at Fisherman's Cove RV Park at Lake Harris in a Motorhome.

This was our second stay at this park. First, 1 1/2 years ago was pleasant. In the first hour we were given 3 different sites. No. 104 to narrow (between lightpost & row of shrubs) to fit our 41 ft. class A. Also not a level spot on it. Site 106 we backed into, tried to level but even with boards could not level (front wheels were off the ground). Opened slides and started doing our home routine. Hubby comes back inside to say we don't have 50 amp. Site 79 had a concrete pad & patio so we went through routine again. Last thing we do is hook up cable tv. Guess what? No cable on this site. Since we had paid $80.00 deposit they came out and strung a cable three sites down to hook us up. When we arrived I told them we would be unable to stay the 7 days we'd planned. She said she would issue a credit for the remainder but she hadn't had a credit sale that day and she would have to wait until she had a sale to credit our account. This seemed very strange to me but I told her I would check back the next day. On the 4th day of our stay they had a sale and I received our credit. Still think this is strange. Used the laundry and was not happy with the condition of the washers. The rim around all 4 openings hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. There is no sink in laundry so couldn't clean myself. What we have discovered is they have sold most of the park to a developer and I think that is the area they are not doing any maintenance on. The park was 3/4 empty and we could have been assigned a site that is used in the winter for long term use. They are level, full concrete, look like newer electric boxes and probably have cable. We stay here because it is very close to relatives. If we stay again we will drive around, find a site and request that one. I advise you to do the same. We camped at Fisherman's Cove RV Park at Lake Harris in a Motorhome.

Passport friendly. We picked our own site, up the hill for a nice view of the lake. Pool and rec room was clean. Showers available at the pool. Laundry reasonably priced. My only dislike was the sewer hookup was uphill from my rig. There was also not a lot of events for kids or a playground. There is a very nice park within a mile of the campground and downtown Tavares has an excellent park and nightlife scene. We camped at Fisherman's Cove RV Park at Lake Harris in a Fifth Wheel.

Easy check-in. Sites we were sent to look at all had broken sewer hookups. We stayed at the top of the hill where the view was very nice. We would come back here, but we would hope that the owner would do more work on the infrastructure. We camped at Fisherman's Cove RV Park at Lake Harris in a Motorhome.

We had a coupon for 2 nights free but only stayed one night because of the facility. The sites closer to the office looked nice, but we were put in the grassy area (if you can call it grass) in the back of the park. We felt very uncomfortable because the owners of the other RVs in the area were not around. They seemed to be either full time residents who were working long hours (and didn't care for their sites) or the RVs were in storage. We will not return. We camped at Fisherman's Cove RV Park at Lake Harris in a Motorhome.

Basically a clear field with sand/weedy uneven sites. No shade. No picnic tables and no fire pits. Lots of ants. Electric was fine, voltage always in acceptable range. Cable TV worked OK. Did not use the rest rooms as there was only one rest room building for the CG and it was probably a 1/4 mile from where they parked us. Most of this campground consists of a very old "trailer park". The area we stayed was on a large concrete slab in the renovated part of the park - we had a full hookup with 50 amps. If the whole park was like the area we were in, it could be called a resort but as is, it is only a 4 out of 10 campground. There is an area to tie up your boat with lake access. There are no picnic tables. There is very little shade. The old campsites are on a hill and on shell pads. The campsites are not numbered on site. When we were here they told us to just pick out a site. We hooked up to their water but after tasting it, decided to use from our own tank. The staff was very nice and very friendly. I can see why they give two free nights... With a lot of work, they could live up to their claims on their website. The website shows the area we were in which does not accurately represent the majority of the park. We camped at Fisherman's Cove RV Park at Lake Harris in a Motorhome.

Signage is poor and you can miss or end up in the wrong drive, very easily. Office was nice, getting to our site was easy and at the top of the hill: your satellite dish will work. However site was crushed shell that needed a lot of work. Park in some areas appears that work has been done to fix up and update, and in others no work has been done. Over all, it just looks tired and well worn. Fair number of long term rentals. We had a free 2 day stay, so rate was nice but would not return.
