Overall Rating:

This is our third stay at Blythe Island. The staff is very friendly and their maintenance staff is always active keeping the park in good shape. The camp ground is part of a regional park which includes a riverfront park and boat landing. There is also a lake for swimming and fishing.
There are many trees so it will be shaded in the warmer months and the sites are well spaced. No problems with electric, water or sewer hookups. The site was almost level. We have been there in November and February so it was not at all crowded. I suspect it is full in the warm season.
We found the location ideal to visit the surrounding areas such as St. Simons and Jekyll islands. It has easy access to Rt 95 and the surrounding roads are very good. Although the park is secluded, there are plenty of shopping, fuel, and restaurants in the area.
The only minor downside is the relative nearness of a paper mill. It is NOT close, but on a quiet night you can just hear the low background white noise of the plan. Not a big deal. Just thought you should know.
Each of our stays was for three nights. We will definitely return. We camped at Blythe Island Regional Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

The staff was amazingly helpful with southern hospitality. One of the staff was outstanding with his knowledge of the local fishing and tides; they will also bring firewood to your site! The sites were very clean and level, we had site 41 and the other couple had 42 so if you're going with 2 campers these are perfect wide open sites with FULL hookups. It was very quiet and peaceful and other campers were friendly as they passed by. We didn't use the bathrooms, which were only a campsite away, but they were spotless. The pond is good for bass fishing and you can rent a John boat or kayak..no gas motors, the Brunswick River is just on the other side of the park that's good for salt water fishing. We felt safe with the security circling often, we will definitely be going back and will recommend it to others. We camped at Blythe Island Regional Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

The campground has full hookups. Most sites are very large and there are many pull throughs. Be prepared with levelers as some sites aren't level side to side. Sites have full hookups, concrete patios, fire ring and picnic table. Parking area for RV and vehicle is sandy. Sites are well screened with shrubbery and trees. There are hiking/biking trails, canoe trails, swim area, fishing and boat launch. There is a laundry (3 washers/dryers). There are picnic shelters in the park. The park is gated at night. The park is very close to groceries, fuel/diesel, restaurants, etc. The park is about 20 min from Jekyll Island and about 25 from St Simons. At times the wind blew the odor from the pulpwood mill to the campground - it wasn't unbearable. At times the no-see-ums were bad. We would stay here again. We camped at Blythe Island Regional Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Beautiful, scenic grounds that are well maintained. Wooded sites are largest I've ever seen and quite easy to get in and out of. Abundance of trees provides shade and privacy. Drive thru sites are hard packed sand with a concrete pad for picnic table, stair landing area. Fresh water lake was good for swimming and kayaks were available for rent. Staff were very friendly, knowledgeable, and resourceful. East access to I95, gas stations, stores, and restaurants. Must see is St. Simon and Jekyll Islands. I loved Blythe Island Regional Park and would highly recommend. We camped at Blythe Island Regional Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful campground and park owned by the county. It is large but the spaces are situated such that you have alot of privacy. We were in space #45 which was right across from the bathhouse. The spaces are hard packed sand and ours was level. There is a concrete patio that you can pull your camper up to so that when you step out you are on concrete. Each site had a picnic table and fire ring/grill top. The cable TV worked well for us as did the Wifi. There is a nice playground, a swimming lake, canoe rental, fishing and biking trail. There isn't a camp store, but they do sell ice. There are 2 soda machines. We have At&t cell service and had good reception. There is a Dollar General Store about 3 miles down the road if you need supplies. Overall, great experience! We camped at Blythe Island Regional Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Fox's Pizza in downtown Brunswick was great! Definitely visit Jekyll Island and the Driftwood Beach. Both Jekyll Island and St. Simon's Island are beautiful.

This is one of our favorite parks and we stop here for a break every time we go to Florida. The park has trails, water access to both ponds and the river and is located far enough from I-95 so that highway noise is not a problem. There is much to do in the area which makes this much better than just for an overnight stay. The only negative is the bugs, but that goes with the territory. This is a great county run park!

Everything worked great. After 8pm campers have the entire park to themselves. The entrance to the park is locked at 8, but is the code is provided for after hours entry.

Good luck on getting a satellite signal due to the forest.

The roads are crushed rock and are in need of leveling. We camped at Blythe Island Regional Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We have stayed at hundreds of campgrounds since 2007 and this is in the top 4 in the country in our opinion. Our site made us feel like we were alone. The people were friendly. We spent 9 days here instead of the original 5 we had planned. We camped at Blythe Island Regional Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We visited Jekyl Island and even drove through their campground and was so very glad that we stayed at the Blythe Island campground as the Jekyl one was so crowded and closed in.

This is a very pleasant campground but since it is close to water you better bring your bug spray for the mosquitoes. Very shady campsites. Although there are a lot of sites in this campground, it did not feel cramped since the spacing between sites was good and there are lots of trees. Easy to reach park from Freeway. Nice wooded setting. Entrance narrow for big rigs. Gate with code for after hours entry. Convenient for visiting Jekyll Island, historic Brunswick etc. Quiet park for the most part. We had four inches of rain and the roads had standing water in many places as we departed. Staff was friendly, easy check in. All hookups worked well. Super long level pull thrus with some foliage between sites. We would stay here again. First rate park in all areas. A few miles from I-95 but minimal highway noise. All sites include WIFI, water, electric and sewer. Cheerful, efficient reception. Spaces are wide and shaded, and the bath houses were clean and spacious. There are wide, flat walking trails that lead into the old oaks draped with spanish moss. The park is a 20 minute drive to Jekyll Island, a first rate destination for cycling. Thanks to other reviewers for touting this park. Great find! I'm not sure where all of the high scores are coming from, and I know when I read reviews and see one low score I don't pay attention to it but, a lot of the sites have branches so close that you can't put out slides but not all, I hate the dirty sand that is all through the park, some gravel would help a bunch, if your a larger MH I would unhook your toad before driving through. Nice bathrooms and walking trails, wifi is strong and water and electric is good however. We camped at Blythe Island Regional Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Oh boy! You can really tell the campgrounds that are government run. They have some money put into them. As advertised here. My site was over 80 feet long, extra wide, full hook-ups with a concrete pad, picnic table, and fire ring. There was a full row of trees between each of the sites, so you feel secluded. Many pavilions. Bathrooms are brand spanking new and all tile with automatic features. They have all the facilities under a code and the staff goes home at 7 PM. If you are late arrival, please call in advance and they will give you a code. Laundry was $1.25. Playground was large commercial structures. We saw a dolphin swimming in the river in the morning and several people having luck with their crab cages. They have fiber optic cable run through the campground and we had no problem getting full bars on the Wi-Fi in the center of the park with the dense vegetation. The speed varied drastically. In sunshine we could stream movies. In the rain we could hardly do anything. The lake is where the beach is and it is small and muddy/mossy. The sand is hard with lots of shells. The drives are made of that powdery gravel that gets EVERYWHERE. We took our shoes off outside and still had to vacuum three times a day. Their is no "view" of the waterfront because of the dense vegetation. The vegetation also brings lots of mosquitoes, ticks, and ants. We camped at Blythe Island Regional Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

These folks know how to run a campground. We're not heavyweight campers, but this is one of the best we've seen. Easy to get to. Easy checkin. Everything worked perfectly: power, water, electric, cable. Sites have vegetation between them, as someone said, like a rain forest. Lot of foliage, privacy. Playground, fishing lake, hiking trails, bikes and golf carts to rent. 20 minutes from Jekyll Island. A very good and excellent campground. Glynn County is to be congratulated. Only downsides and they don't matter: couldn't get much over the air TV and when it rains there are big puddles. But folks, this is the beach. We'd go back here in a flat minute! Stayed here while visiting family in Brunswick Georgia. This park was quite the nice location to camp. The campground is set in the middle of a what I believe was a county park which was very very well kept. There was a beach area with a swimming area in a lake, bbq areas all throughout the park. The pull thru 50 amp site we were on was sooo long you could fit two RVs and a car! they could use to be avlittle wider instead of being so long but still nice wooded sites with water, electric, sewer, and cable. The camp had free WiFi which seemed to work pretty good. We would definitely camp here again. We camped at Blythe Island Regional Park Campground in a Motorhome.
