Be prepared to be greeted by friendly wild rabbits when you check-in. Elmer Fudd would enjoy this place. You get a lot for the money; Cable TV, sewer, water, 50 amp, robust Wifi and plenty of distance between sites. The park is very well maintained. The road coming in has been newly paved. The gravel roads in the park are smoothed and wide enough to maneuver big rigs without any problems. We came the first week in February and it was 50's during the day and 40's at night. We took a couple of hikes by the river, nice and very scenic. The negatives; even in the cool weather, small black nats bug the heck out of you and right across from the river is a paper mill, if the wind is blowing in the right direction, there is a smell, not bad though. We would definitely come back again. We camped at Blythe Island Regional Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Planned to stay 3 nights but Hurricane Michael hurried us on our way after two nights. We really liked the park, very private sites, shaded and beautiful. Would like to return in cooler weather when mosquitos would not be such a problem. Reasonable access to Brunswick and its wonderful historic area, as well as Jekyll and St Simons Islands. Could use better signage but with GPS had no trouble locating park. People in park office were very nice, but I can see how arriving at a busy time could be problematic as there is very little room for waiting RVs. We camped at Blythe Island Regional Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Don't miss Brunswick's historic area or the driftwood beach at Jekyll. Best shrimp and grits EVER at Driftwood Bistro on Jekyll Island. High bridge into Brunswick provides a wonderful entry.

We enjoyed our stay here a great deal. There is both fresh and saltwater fishing. Nice shady pull through spot with a small concrete pad. Little sandy, but it's camping. There are free range domestic rabbits everywhere, which are fun to watch. We will be back! We camped at Blythe Island Regional Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

The park and campground are beautiful. Very shaded but we were able to sneak in between limbs to pickup Directv satellites (the park has pretty good cable but we have the NFL package on Directv so we needed the satellite so my husband could watch his games). The WiFi was not that great but I can't complain at the rate we paid. Our AT&T phone service worked fine. There are a TON of rabbits at the campground. While riding our bikes we saw pens with babies in them so I'm not sure if they breed them or just offer a safe haven for them. They are not very timid. While sitting by the campfire, one came within 5 feet of us. The raccoons aren't very timid either so you probably need to watch your trash (we had one raccoon come up the stairs to our camper and look in the door - LOL). We didn't leave any food outside so they weren't a problem. My only complaint would be the no alcohol rule. Even the state parks allow alcohol on your site but this one does not allow it at all. I would have appreciated them posting this on the website so we were aware of the rule before venturing down there. I enjoy having a glass of wine while sitting by the campfire and I'm way too old to be sneaking around! We camped at Blythe Island Regional Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

The park has both back-in and pull-through sites that are spacious with palms/bushes between sites and convenient to I-95, Brunswick, and Saint Simon's and Jekyll Islands. The sites are sand/dirt with a cement patio, picnic table, and fire pit. One of the first campgrounds we have been to in a long time that the picnic table was not beat up. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Our fire pit looked like someone had tried to pull it out of the ground and was unusable. When we reported it to the office, the very next morning two fellows arrived and fixed the fire ring. There is a nice lake, small beach, and laundry with three washers and dryers. The park itself is very nice, however we had to clean up our site upon arrival from a large number of cigarette butts and some trash items. We were disappointed that to fish in the lake, there is a $5.00 permit fee per person plus a $5.00 deposit each for the permit. Additionally, if you want to use your own kayak there is another $5.00 fee. For hubby and I to fish out of our own kayak for one day, we would have to pay $25.00 with $10.00 refundable. That just seems ridiculous. There are a number of RVs that are parked in sites either for the summer or permanently and used on weekends. We arrived on a Sunday and left on a weekday. There were many sites where RVs were parked, but no one was there. We camped at Blythe Island Regional Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice and clean. It has a pond with a 'beach' for play and relaxation, and a river for some serious fishing. The pier at the river has been destroyed, but plans are in the making to rebuild soon. We camped at Blythe Island Regional Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a surprisingly nice campground in a county park. Friendly, helpful staff, level sites, and heavily wooded with well-maintained trees and roadways. Cable was OK, wifi was marginal, but they promise repairs soon for wifi issues caused by last year's hurricane. We would definitely stay here again when in the area. Our site was facing the small campground lake and was surrounded with palmettos. The check in staff was probably the most friendliest we've met on this trip. This campground almost has a tropical feel to it. The wifi at the sites is a little weak so we sat at the check in office which has a covered porch and plenty of seating. This has to be one of our top 3 places so far. We camped at Blythe Island Regional Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

The campground has full hookups. Most sites are very large and there are many pull throughs. Be prepared with levelers as some sites aren't level side to side. Sites have full hookups, concrete patios, fire ring and picnic table. Parking area for RV and vehicle is sandy. Sites are well screened with shrubbery and trees. There are hiking/biking trails, canoe trails, swim area, fishing and boat launch. There is a laundry (3 washers/dryers). There are picnic shelters in the park. The park is gated at night. The park is very close to groceries, fuel/diesel, restaurants, etc. The park is about 20 min from Jekyll Island and about 25 from St Simons. At times the wind blew the odor from the pulpwood mill to the campground - it wasn't unbearable. At times the no-see-ums were bad. We would stay here again. Beautiful, scenic grounds that are well maintained. Wooded sites are largest I've ever seen and quite easy to get in and out of. Abundance of trees provides shade and privacy. Drive thru sites are hard packed sand with a concrete pad for picnic table, stair landing area. Fresh water lake was good for swimming and kayaks were available for rent. Staff were very friendly, knowledgeable, and resourceful. East access to I95, gas stations, stores, and restaurants. Must see is St. Simon and Jekyll Islands. I loved Blythe Island Regional Park and would highly recommend. We camped at Blythe Island Regional Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is one of our favorite parks and we stop here for a break every time we go to Florida. The park has trails, water access to both ponds and the river and is located far enough from I-95 so that highway noise is not a problem. There is much to do in the area which makes this much better than just for an overnight stay. The only negative is the bugs, but that goes with the territory. Easy to reach park from Freeway. Nice wooded setting. Entrance narrow for big rigs. Gate with code for after hours entry. Convenient for visiting Jekyll Island, historic Brunswick etc. Quiet park for the most part. We had four inches of rain and the roads had standing water in many places as we departed. Staff was friendly, easy check in. All hookups worked well. Super long level pull thrus with some foliage between sites. We would stay here again. Based on older reviews, we did have problems with the WiFi at our site, and cannot say at all that it was the best. Sometimes it just plain did not work, in fact the office was having problems. TV reception was terrible using their cable connection. Campground staff had the cable provider come out. The cable company said that yes, we had a weak TV signal and basically they had to redo the lines. Bugs were a problem, the no-see-ums, and they did bite. Bug spray is a must. If you have a screen room, I suggest you bring it with you. Also the Verizon signal was not that strong, a few calls were dropped. We were in site #9 (back-in) overlooking the lake. This is really a nice setting, some really long pull through sites and a great place for walks, bike riding, etc. Besides what I noted, the older posts were accurate in describing this campground. Rate is based on a monthly stay. We camped at Blythe Island Regional Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here on our way home just as a place to relax and to check this campground out. This campground is a gem. A regional park that has huge, level, pull through sites. Our site was 90 foot long, great full hookups, 50 amp, and free Wi-Fi that worked well. The sites have a small concrete pad on the door side, a picnic table, and a nice natural wooded buffer between the sites. The place was quiet, except for a couple who ran a couple 2 cycle mini scooters with seats on them that made a lot of noise. I didn’t blame the campground for the noise, but the scooter owners for their lack of consideration for other campers. The main road into the park is paved, but the roads to access the campground and its sites were hard packed sand and looked to have recently been graded. They were relatively smooth, and campers were respectful of the speed limits so there was no dust. This campground is part of a regional/county park and offers a couple of fresh water lakes for fishing and one has a sandy beach for swimming, and there is also a boat ramp on a saltwater river that lead to the ocean. We absolutely enjoyed just relaxing at this campground and taking walks to the lakes and boat launch. This campground was only 50 miles from our home so it will be a place we will return to for those relaxation trips to just get away. The access from RT 95 is very easy. The staff was friendly, registration was quick and with the long pull-throughs, this is also a great place to stop just for a night while traveling to or from Florida. We will definitely return. We camped at Blythe Island Regional Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
