Well, this will teach me to always make reservations ahead, and read reviews! After going to the RV park that my husband picked out and finding out it was full, I called 5 more places and they were all full. Finally we found a place just outside Savannah called Sunshine RV Park. An elderly man checked us in and drove us to our spot. I will say this for him, he was nice enough to guide my husband into a back in spot, as he doesn't have much experience with this. He doesn't take plastic, only cash or check. It is $45 per night, no good Sam discount. For 4 nights that is $180. It is quiet here and apparently in a safe place. Another reviewer complained that there were roaches that infested their RV but that was a couple years ago. I hope that problem has been solved!! I went over this morning to check out the laundry room. There is no way on earth I would put my clothes in those dirty stinky washers. They appeared very old, and some actually had slime around the interior! The adjacent bathroom, unisex, was about the filthiest I've ever seen. Very small, broken fixtures, no soap or towels. Now I see why it is not good Sam rated! We have 2 weeks of dirty clothes piled up, so I guess we will be going to a laundromat in town. - rnmcampers

Other parks were full when we visited the Savannah area, so we stayed at the Sunshine RV Park. First, one needs to understand the check-in process. The park is in a residential and government area. To check in, you pull up in front of the owner's house - park on the street and walk up to his/her garage which has an "Office" sign on it. When I checked-in, I was not given a map of the park, or any documentation whatsoever. They were, however, very adept at taking my $135 for three nights - which is only accepted by cash or personal check. Then, you drive down the street to another relative's house and are told where to park. The "main" park has a couple of typical loops and is located behind a fence. We were in the auxiliary area, which is a U shaped parking lot with back-in spaces around the outside. They sites here are close together and there is absolutely no shade. The sites in the main park appeared a bit better. This park is fine for a short basic stay. By that I mean, it's safe, relatively clean, and all of the hook-ups work. Don't expect much beyond that. - CampingWithPoodles

This is a workers park. Mostly TT housing a younger working crowed on a permanent setups. While the park is kept neat and clean, the Wi-Fi advertised does not work, the bathhouse is a small room of the laundry with one toilet and one shower which is quite dated. My "pull Through" site was until I arrived and then another camper was backed in behind me and we shared the same power pole, me 50 amp him 30 amp. No cable and over the air was very poor. When it rains the area I was in was puddle city. Perimeter sites were more spacious but filled with long termers. I was parked in the "field" where my awning almost touched my neighbor and the guy behind me was so close I could barely walk behind my unit. Stay away from this park unless you are looking for cheap long term parking. - JimChan52

The RV sites are nice, level & well cared for. That being said, there is NO sign for the entrance other than a Good Sam sign hanging on a fence. We made the mistake of thinking the entrance was past the building. We had to disconnect our toad & jockey our 35 ft motor home to get it turned around. During which the owner came out & yelled that we were going to break the already broken concrete by driving on it. We did get turned around, & pulled into the park. It went down from there. The wife who checked us in was very nasty, she was very angry that we had made a mistake & turned into the wrong spot. We spent 3 days there & had no further contact with these unpleasant people. There is no laundry, showers, pool, dog park, nothing to offer. In hindsite we should have moved on. This park definitely goes on the NEVER AGAIN list! We are full time RVers with over 80,000 miles on the motor home & are experienced drivers. Mistakes happen to even the most experienced when a park does not properly mark their entrance/exit. Note, we looked later to see if we missed a sign, there is nothing there. This experience was not a very good one for someone who has never been to Savannah!! - On the Road Rose
Mar 2018 - $54.00
This is not a KOA. With that said it is a beautiful clean park with the basic amenities. Water, sewer and electric. I loved the shade from the overhanging trees. If you want a campground to visit Savannah you will not be disappointed. Although there are no bathrooms or laundry it is a lovely campground. Very quiet and great location to down town. If you're counting on the trolley be sure to call to see the weeks it runs. - SuzyQ1959
May 2017 - $35.00
This is not a nice place to stay. We made reservations over the phone, but when we arrived we found it to be in a very bad part of town. The owner was very rude. They took me to my site in dirty golf cart. The site was outside of the fence next to the road with busy traffic. The sewer hook up was way in the back and there is no way we could connect unless we bought a 3rd line. We were not going to stay there.... The owner refused to refund our money. Fortunately out bank took care of that.... What ever you do... Don't make reservations without seeing this place. - Billy J H

We enjoyed this park (but I acknowledge that could be biased based on the fact that we de-winterized here and so that first shower was awesome!) The pros: Wide sites, close to shopping and Savannah/Hilton Head, nice gravel roads for walking (approx 1.3 miles once around), beautiful horses and cute goats, nice saltwater pool - not that we were brave enough in January - and a large and very well equippd "clubhouse". The cons: nearby trains may disturb your sleep during the night (they were not nearly as disruptive as our cat!), occasional military helicopter flyovers (but our son is a pilot so we are used to always looking up, LOL). We would definitely return here on our way to or from Florida. - BryanNH
Jan 2019 - $49.00
Traveling full-time in a 38-foot coach we stayed 3-nights in a site for big rigs (site #10 - Pd $49/night) This was our first visit here. We've stayed in over 400 RV Parks and as far as WIFI goes, this RV park places in the Top Ten! We give this park 5-Stars for the fantastic WIFI! Our AT&T phones worked great here too. This park is a small well-maintained family owned park. The owners are very friendly and fantastic hosts. Big coaches need a gravel pad, so we also give this RV Park a 5-star rating for the thick gravel pad. Some RV Parks also have very narrow roads which make backing up very difficult, we found this park to have plenty of room to maneuver our coach. Some RV Parks are so dusty that one has to clean their coach after a stay, but not here, the dust on our coach was very minimal compared to many other parks. Our satellite did receive reception. There's plenty of places to walk your dog here. The bad...the road coming into the park has some fairly big potholes. This is a nice place to stay and we recommend it! - JDC10
Dec 2018 - $75.00
Most RVs are parked around a central field. There are nice hiking trails, with farm animals to visit and fishing on site. A great location, just a short drive to downtown Savannah. - Miles and Smiles

30 amp, W&E site only. FHU sites were very expensive considering the park. I suppose the proximity to Savannah warrants the high prices but I didn't feel this park was worth $50/night. Cable TV included but WIFI was basically useless. 30 amp hookup was not strong. Staff very nice and helpful. I doubt we would return since we only stopped here to visit the Mighty 8th Air Force museum down the road. - Bob & Stephanie
Apr 2018 - $50.00
I made a reservation a month in advance and was assigned a specific site # which was close to some friends we were meeting there at the beginning of a3 week trip. When I got there they gave me another site not close to our friends. I inquired as to why and they said they had problems with one of their sites and moved one of their monthly customers into the site I was assigned. No call no nothing. I paid $50 for a site that I barely fit in. Very poor service in my opinion. - GreggF
Mar 2018 - $24.00
Not a resort by all means. Crowded with rv's very close. Choose a site without sewer for $24 otherwise it would have been $40 for a site. Only there for 3 days, didn't make much since to charge that much extra for sewer. Connection pole for my 50 amp was bent over like someone hit sometime before but never fixed. Also had to run all connection under my rv to connect cause power pole was on wrong side. Good side people were friendly, laundry room was very clean and modern, wifi and cable decent.. - Caseysplace

We stayed here for 5 weeks, and I must say this park was wonderful. Simple, clean, quiet, and convienent. We bring our 5th wheel when we work in the Savannah area, and this is the 4th campground we have stayed in. We will never stay anywhere else. We were 10-15 min from downtown Savannah, and 20-30 min from Hilton Head. I felt safe because it was a gated community and everyone was very friendly. They provide cable and WIFI. The office lady was ALWAYS a phone call away, and honestly at the campground most of the time. We were sad to leave Bellinger Hill/ Len Thomas, and are already looking forward to wording there again. - -G-
Sep 2016 - $11.00
(This was a monthly stay so I just divided by 30) was 350 per month and this included the WI-FI, cable, water and garbage. Electric ran about 15.00 per month. Propane was delivered. Extra secure as it had a gated community. Also had a clean laundry room with good machines (not expensive), ice and soda machine. 15 minutes to Savannah and 20ish to Hilton Head. Definitely would recommend and we will stay there again. They also had rental units and cabins available, we rented the cabin last year and it was great. Quiet, friendly neighbors and pet friendly. Also near to a wildlife preserve. - EACreech

One night stay. Take Exit 8 from the north or the south to save time. Quiet campground with roomy sites. Not a destination place unless you want to use it to explore Savannah. No one in registration when we arrived so we had to call a few times. It was easy in and easy out which is what we wanted. Would stay here in our fifth wheel again. - TailsAwagging

Nice Park, big spaces
Easy drive to Savannah
Stayed here three days while we toured the area.
Good value, courteous staff. - happyflyer
Jun 2016 - $30.00
Needed a one night while heading north from FL. This was farther out of the way than anticipated. For some reason, the website gave definite instructions for those coming from the south on I-95 to get on I-16. Those coming from the north could exit I-95 and proceed to the CG. It seemed a bit out of the way. It was closer to re-enter 95 as you don't have to retrace your path. However, it is not a hop off and on location, but is doable. Check in was friendly and efficient. fyi-check or cash only. Our site was a spacious pull-thru, was gravel, and was very level. There is a dog park and plenty of areas to walk the dog. There is some road noise from Hwy 315. The cable channels were all local-not many, and the WIFI worked well during the day and later at night. It slowed quite a bit during the evening and earlier night hours. We would stay here again if in the area. - Gayle E.

Dec 2018 - $25.00
This park was a perfect 2-day stop for us to tour Savannah. The camp site host was very accommodating. The site was clean and the hookups worked great. The park is located within in a 2-minute walking distance from a nice large mall and within a 5-minute walking distance from a Walmart. Considering the location and the extra peace of being in a gated community (on a military base), this is a good value. We would certainly return to this park. - Gweninthewind
Apr 2018 - $25.00
This park could be a nice park, but it seems to have no one keeping up with it. They were closed Tuesday and Wednesday so we arrived Tuesday with no one to tell us anything and no warning for that to happen. We never did receive the WiFi password. Our site was also covered in broken glass and ant piles and they hadn't mowed in a long time. The area was so nice that if they just managed it, it'd be amazing. The sites are spacious and with the trees it could be beautiful. It's very close to everything too. - Twintravelers

This park is a great place to stay while visiting Savannah if you don't need any additional accommodations, restrooms, showers, playground, etc. It was not well maintained, but a great place to park our trailer. - ranic59

The park is a new and growing park that when finished will be everything you want in a premium park. The check-in was quick and we were escorted to our spot, that is where things went down. When booking we were going with a another couple and requested to be by each other. On the phone we we're told our options of having a Lakeview premium spot over closer spots near the front of Park. Our friend booked first and chose the drive thru Lakeview so we picked the spot next to him. They told us on the phone that we would be a road away from the Lake and that those spots didn't have cable yet but they could set up a temporary Dish and give us a box when we checked in. Our spot that we got was a drive thru with two roads away from the Lake and our view was woods. We started to complain to the person that took us that we had paid for Lakeview. He said that we could see the Lake when we we're outside? He finally went back to the office and they said they could move us and it was a miscommunication on their part but we would be charged extra to move, plus the Dish part they didn't know what I was talking about. Being a former business owner if any of my staff told a client something wrong I certainly wouldn't charge them more. I feel with a more experienced staff this wouldn't have happened but we did enjoy the beautiful place and will come back in a couple of years. If you go have them repeat back to you what you are getting, please go and enjoy. - JanicePoolson
Jan 2019 - $54.00
Fifteen month old evening resort. Really nice sites, level, fair spacing, nice buildings, activity center, gorgeous pool, cabins, lake and friendly helpful staff. Lots of landscaping and a second new activity hall being constructed in the back sites near lake. We stayed in front section close to everything including weekend entertainment. The rumbles and shaking you feel at random times is apparently Army artillery 40 miles away. Go Army! We would stay here again! - Jitime40
Jan 2019 - $28.00
A great campground. PassPort for 2 night stay. We were here visiting family in Savannah for 2 weeks. We used to stay at Red Gate but this place is so very much nicer and cleaner. They are still working on the park but the facilities and sites are really nice. And it is closer to I95 (exit 94). We will go back here whenever we are in the area or just going thru. Our motorhome is 43 feet and the site was ample for the rig and car. - Popeye1

This is not a "resort". We stayed in a Class A motorhome. We made reservations ahead of time, providing the length of our rig as well as the fact we had a towed vehicle. When we arrived we were escorted to our site. At the site the employee was directing me in. Even though I have a rear view and side view cameras I still like to do a walk-around just prior to entering the campsite, specifically looking at the overhead clearance and positioning for hook-ups. When I stopped to do my walk-around the employee told me she has been "doing this for three years", coming across as being irritated that I just did not follow her directions. I then told her that this RV is my home and I have been driving this for four years. The concrete pad was barley wide enough for our motorhome. The rest of the campsite was dirt, small gravel. The site was not long enough for us to park our towed vehicle at our campsite. The site had not been cleared off (I assume that there is a gap between checking out and checking in so the site can be prepared for the next camper) and the wooden table provided was soaked and covered in moss, which made it unusable. This area of the country has high humidity. A heavy duty plastic table would be better suited for campsites. Several of the "residents" do not perform upkeep on their sites. The pull thru sites at the lower campground would have accommodated us versus the one we were assigned. There were also campers that allowed their dogs to run loose as well as left unattended tied to a tree or RV. The campground is labeled as a "Resort". The pool was dirty and the roads in the campground had many potholes. Creek Fire just a few miles away is more of a resort. It has very nice roads, well groomed campsites, the pool was heated and open and they had scheduled activities. I would not stay at this campground again. - Glamping with the Ghis
Oct 2018 - $40.00
Stayed for a week. Unpleasant staff, very abrupt. Sites very close together, Peculiar layout where you face the site next to you and have to look at each other when you sit outside. Dirty muddy and unlevel. Don't stay here with a dish, almost impossible to get signal. They do have cable. Never again. Made the week miserable. - Karen Levy
Sep 2018 - $50.00
This park was perfect for a overnight stay while traveling 95. It was about 2 miles off the highway and had fuel and a cracker barrel at this exit so it worked out perfect. I really liked the trees at this campground as it was very natural for the area. The pool was very nice and was open late. Pull through sites were perfect as I didn't have to unhook or level just put down stabilizers for the night. Only downfall was sites ere a bit sandy but that is the area. Will definitely use this campground again for an overnight stay. - Phatsteve
