Next to I-75, so if placed in monthly rental section, traffic noise is terrible. Didn't sleep at all due to very busy interstate noise all night. Sites gravel. Not level. Did not use facilities so can't comment on those. No longer a Good Sam campground. Very convenient to restaurants and Chickamauga battlefield. Many apparently long term guests but that was not a problem for us. - otternebr
Sep 2018 - $35.00
Okay for an overnight stay as it is convenient off the interstate. Campground has a lot of full time campers which makes the place look trashy. Had a light that shined in camper all night. Absolutely no hot water in showers and complained twice about it. - Mri7853
Jun 2018 - $36.00
Let me start by saying we didn't spend the night here. We stopped for a quick overnight and as soon as we pulled into our spot the power went out. Nothing anybody could control, but we all knew it wasn't going to be fixed at 7:00 on a Saturday night. They quickly refunded us our money (why stay if we didn't have power) and we were on our way. Pool looked great and campground seemed nice. - RebaDee

Camping is free if you use the Camping World Service Department during your stay. That's the reason for the 'Value' having an Excellent rating in my review. I would not have paid to stay here. Our site was narrow, trees in area and a narrow road made it difficult to enter site. Site was mostly dirt, some gravel and very little grass. Water spigot was not two inches above ground. If I didn't have a 90 degree elbow with me I would not have been able to attach my water hose to the spigot without removing dirt from around the spigot. Water pressure was good, but within an hour of arriving water was turned off for about an hour. Picnic table was very old, weathered, warped and splintered. Campground has cable TV, with SD channels only, channels are weak and 'snowy'. No WiFi in campground, WiFi is available in Camping World store. Parts of campground heavily treed. Our site was not that heavily treed, but our satellite antenna could not 'see' any of the Dish satellites 61, 72, 77, 110, 119 and 129. There are a few sites near the Service area the might get satellite reception . Campground is mostly seasonals, quite a few RVs were dirty and visually in need of repair. Interior roads are paved, but still lots of dust. Pool was closed during our stay with no reason given. Overall campground is clean. We were only here to use the Service Department otherwise we would not stayed here. The old saying 'You get what you pay for' applies here. - ETB
Apr 2018 - $28.00
An old park but the price is right. It's used throughout the day by Camping World Sales and their service dept. It quiets down after they all go home at 4:30 p.m. We were here with out 42' 5th wheel so we had to unhook and park the truck off to the side. There is vehicle parking by the pool. The staff all seem very friendly. - JCZ
Oct 2017 - $22.00
Gravel site with cement patio, lots of trees. Full hook-ups. Lots of static/snow on cable. Many sites are used by customers that are there to have service done on their RV and in some cases service was being done in the campground. - MarkandMarty

Probably one of the nice KOA's we have stayed at. Park is clean and well maintained. Spots are gravel and level but bit narrow. Room enough on gravel for chairs. Power and water service is excellent. They tend to have the full timers in a separate section than short stay which is nice. Good location to visit area. Bit noisy since flight path close by for airport but not to bad. Staff was friendly. - Dov327
Oct 2018 - $45.00
Stayed in October...quiet park, half of park is full time RVs and half daily rentals. Mix of lots of different RV types, but plenty of room for big RVs in the pull through sites. Rained a full day while we were staying here, the grounds did pool some water around the sites. The pull through sites are gravel and the campsites are about 10 feet in between sites. The site comes with a fire ring and picnic table. No trees at our site but a few throughout the park. Bathrooms and showers very clean and great pressure and hot water in shower!! Not much for kids to do...small park area, pool is seasonal. - Mnmama
Oct 2018 - $42.00
Good stop for a few days to explore Chattanooga and surrounding area. Nice, level, sites with strong utilities except for typical slow wifi. Lots of seasonal and Permanent campers in one section. Not much else to say. - Pjoe

Mar 2018 - $10.00
Stayed one night on our way through. Basically a gravel parking lot. As said previously it was weedy. There are 6 sites. 5 30 amp and one 50/30. One site had a huge hole/depression in it. 2 sites were taken by members storing their rvs. We told them about the hole at the lodge and they are going to look at it. Water and power are padlocked. Bartender has the keys. Can't beat the value. The entry/exit is a hard left in. Much easier to go up to the parking lot and turn around. Same when you leave. Everyone at the lodge was very friendly. It is a smoking lodge though. - Patricia57
Jun 2017 - $10.00
We stayed here one night while traveling through the area. The power pedestals and water spigots are padlocked. You must obtain a key from the lodge bar. The RV parking area was very unkempt - it had 12" weeds throughout the camping area. The very first site on the right as you enter the RV parking area has 50 amp service, the other three have 30 amp. There was an empty motorhome being stored in one of the 30 amp sites when we were there. The lodge has a very nice pool, but we didn't take advantage of it. The campsites were very secluded and quiet, with the exception of a distant train horn every now and then, but we did not find it disturbing. The driveway apron entering/leaving the RV area can be a challenge - take it very slow. - craigtaz

Oct 2018 - $50.00
The park was very nice and the people were very nice. We didn't receive our Good Sam discount because we were told that we were given the weekly rate which was better. I am not sure if we were supposed to receive both or not. We were escorted to our site and they stayed to make sure we were positioned so our slide outs would have enough room. It was very nice place to stay. - JLHickerson
Sep 2018 - $50.00
Excellent customer service - she rode me around in a golf cart so that I could pick out a site that I liked. Unfortunately, the one that I picked was not level (pretty bad), but we made due for the two nights. Very nice views. Nice dog park. The pool looked very nice. Seemed like a very quiet and safe campground. My husband complained that the bathroom was not adequate seeing as how there were so many nearby tent campers. Also, we had to pull up pretty far in order to open the slide (tree in the way) and then were too far from the sewer (so just skipped using sewer). Still overall, a nice place to stay at for a couple of days - we would return. - Deb and Chris
Sep 2018 - $45.00
We like the country atmosphere here. There are trees everywhere, but not that got in the way of my slides. The current owners are doing a lot to make this campground a destination rather than just a place to stay. The down side is that the sites are not very Level - many motorhomes had wheels off the grounds. By careful parking I was able to keep all wheels on the ground, so it is possible, just not easy. On the positive side, all the utilities worked fine. The WiFi was, unfortunately, typical RV Park WiFi - just so so. Overall, though, this is a nice place and I will definitely be back. - MFTDoc

Small, close and not very level sites for what I expect from a state park campground. Clean facilities and friendly staff. Free WiFi is a perk. - ToddCase
Apr 2018 - $20.00
They had only one site left, B3. It was NOT big-rig friendly, although we managed to get in and out without hitting anything. There are four campground areas. It looks like A, C, and D may be bigger and easier to maneuver. Office people friendly and helpful. No site that I saw was level. - melissabrvs
Mar 2018 - $17.00
The sites are tight and some are very very unlevel. Pay attention to the website when selected a site. Section B and C have the worst unlevel sites. Both do have some very level sites too. The park does have a pool and playground for those that have families. - ranic59

Dec 2017 - $28.00
Some of the interior roads are not big rig friendly. Last year we drove through 1 of the areas on the island that were pull through...they must only be for small campers and tents. We had to remove our ladder to squeeze past a tree. This time we knew where to go! Right on the lake, quiet & peaceful in the winter. We only saw 1 other camper in the area. The rest seem to gravitate towards the area by the entrance. Nice big playgrounds. Con is there's no sewer and some spots are uneven. - Ontheroamagain
Nov 2017 - $30.00
PROS: Beautiful lake. CONS: Excessive slope. High-crime? - Not friendly. Huge park. Not one park employee or camper said "hello". Glass window and cop car at entrance made it seem like a high-crime area. - Website said site 183 could accommodate a 57 foot motorhome. The site could barely handle a pop-up trailer. Our motorhome is 34 feet. Utilities too far away; had to extend our electric cable. - Excessive slope. We could have broken our necks getting out of the rig. - Website should be updated to show which sites are sloped before laying out 100+ dollars. - tdrager
Oct 2017 - $30.00
Great campground with numerous lakefront campsites! Pros - level sites, fishing, water activities, great scenery Cons - Not full hookup, A bit crowded and close sites, checkout is noon. - RandyP

Feb 2010 - $25.00
The Pros: Pet friendly, wi-fi available, great view, peaceful. The Cons: No bathroom or shower facilities any closer than the 1/4 to a 1/2 a mile walk from camping area, no public telephone, no food, beverages, or ice at location, must drive 8 miles for anything. No cable or satellite access. Management is very unprofessional (a woman running around half dressed). I was there for Valentines Day, and any respectable persons do not care for such behavior. Most residents or visitors were men, so we guessed its acceptable to most there. This park is geared for hang gliders only apparently, at least now. We were there several years ago and it had different management, public restrooms, showers, public phone, and served food at campsite area via a concessions unit. It was obvious to us they neither cared or wanted private individuals in their park. It appeared the park has many permanent residents in it, hang gliders we assumed. - Jerry & John
Jan 2007 - $69.00
A very clean, and well cared for facility! Staff was courteous, helpful and responsive. The park is nestled at the base of Lookout Mountain in a delightful rural setting. It is located next to hang gliding landing field and caters primarily to those who come for hang gliding but all are welcome. Chattanooga is an easy drive with many activities available in the area. It was fascinating watching the hang gliders being towed up for their flights or watching them glide gracefully to the ground. All the people we met during our stay were warm and friendly. I strongly recommend you consider staying at this safe and family oriented facility. - Rowbear

Dec 2018 - $42.00
Very tight roads with trees and boulders strewn about. Like playing pinball with our rig. Lots of permanent campers. All gravel, no pavement. Hilly-did not see any level sites. Best feature? Close to the interstate. We used it as an overnight stop. I would not choose to stay here otherwise. - GordonsvilleGal
Nov 2018 - $42.00
Another KOA with typical KOA amenities. Pool was closed when we were there. Staff was exceptionally nice. There are a couple of really sharp turns, we were glad we unhooked our toad before going to the site. The only real problem is the road noise, which is pretty significant. We would probability not stay again because of the noise and the fact that it is to far from Chattanooga. - newbies2016
Oct 2018 - $40.00
This is a really nice small park, easy on and easy off from I 75. It is a perfect stop over for those traveling south to Florida, or for those traveling north from Florida. There are no full timers at this park. It is meticulously maintained by a family, and they are extremely gracious and accommodating. The owners escort you to your site and help you to get settled. We were not traveling, we came here as a destination because it is close to where we live and we just wanted a few days to get away and have some peace and quiet which is what we got. We went to Chattanooga to shop, lots of area amenities! When we got hooked up we realized we had a problem with our water heater and the owners gave us the number of a really great company that came out to our site and fixed our issue, all at a great price. I wouldn't hesitate to come here again and we will return. The sites are somewhat close together but they are not bad at all, there are places for people to tent, and there are some adorable small cabins that are rentable throughout the property. We brought our dogs as usual and there is a great area to walk them along some trails that are adjacent to the tent area. In the quiet of the night, there are a few noises from the highway, but it isn't enough to be annoying. We also heard a train, but we love it. We had no need for AC so windows were open. The showers were clean and large and wonderful! The store at the office was quaint and immaculate. The laundry was also there and was well-maintained and clean. The park has won a couple of KOA awards this year and we can understand why. They deserved it! - H42 Sailing

Jul 2018 - $54.00
Very accommodating staff. Easy access to Chattanooga attractions. Kids activities get approval from our grandkids. ( pool, bouncing & playground). Best dog play area I have found. Sites offer lots of shade from the hot southern sun. Most sites have adequate privacy & size. The only negatives are the bright pole lighting at night & the hilly gravel roads. - Dugster
Jul 2018 - $48.00
Bathrooms are dated/need updating. Drive up to park was all uphill, twisty road. Spot 30 was a little tight and not too level. Pool was good but lots of kids (they we good, just lots of them.) Roads/sites in park are gravel, and a little tight. Park clean and grass mowed. My meter showed 114 volts, ran our AC's just fine. If you are just passing through, not the best of choices. If you want a relaxing spot off the beaten path, then probably OK. More of the $35/night park. - The World is R Oyster
May 2018 - $52.00
The park was crowded, spaces were tight, they did not enforce quiet hours. - myo
