This is a great place to camp and explore! The park staff members are very diligent about keeping it clean and ready for new campers. When a family moves out, they are there within 30 minutes and walk the entire perimeter cleaning anything left behind. They also clean out the grills and firepits each time. Our site looked like we were the only ones there all summer. Just be ready to drive up hill and take 2 hairpin turns to get there. We stayed in the West Rim campground. It has more trees and is very shaded. The sites are very generous too. We stayed in 8 and it was VERY private. The East Rim seems nice too but it is too city looking for me...freshly mowed grass, fewer trees, and tighter spots. This is definitely a place that we will visit again. One negative ...you also have to pay for a parking pass for each of your vehicles. That is NOT in the cost of the camp site. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Hike the trails!! But be aware of the waterfall trail..it is 600 steps down, so that means 600 back up! It is beautiful though and I am glad I did it. Be sure to go to all of the lookout points on the East and West sides. It is absolutely stunning! We want to go back in the fall.

Had to knock it one star as the sites were not very well labeled and a little difficult to get into at night. Other then that it was a nice stop over spot from MS to CT. We will be stopping there on the way back. Maybe spend a day or two there as it seems to have some nice views. One perk was the washer and dryer they had at the bathhouse. Yes it's a coin op one but still not many state parks offer that. Prepare for a long steep climb to the top of the mountain, also a long steep decent to the bottom. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a wonderful place, great for hikers. Trails can be strenuous to the falls. The only negative, if this is even negative, the road up off of I-59 is 1200 feet up with 2 hairpin turns. Best to un-hook your tow vehicle. Park is very vigilant in picking up trash. We stayed in the West Rim, site #43. It has 50 amp service, Electric and water, no sewer. We had plenty of toom for our 38' motorhome and tiw vehicle. The site was actually big enough to fit two motorhomes. After walking the entire West Rim area, we decided this was the best site, especially for a Class A. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Motorhome.

We loved this beautiful state park! Disc golf was so much fun with the family and this park has great hiking trails. We wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy more of what the park offers than 2 nights but the park was at maximum capacity. The restrooms and laundry room were clean. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This place is amazing!!!! We stayed in the west rim campground. Lots of shaded lots. Ours was huge with plenty of room for camper and tow vehicle. Some sites did look like larger rigs wouldn’t fit but for the most part they all looked good. Easy rim campground didn’t have a lot of shade. Bathhouses were kept perfectly clean. The cleaning lady came around several time as a day and was very friendly. Beautiful views and wonderful hiking trails. We will definitely go back soon. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Tent Trailer.

This campground is nice and good hiking. Beautiful waterfalls however 600 stair steps each way. Biggest negative are the narrow roads, so difficult with a big rig. I prefer West Rim over the East Rim. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We were very disappointed in the quality of the West Rim Campground. The site 24 was very narrow and difficult to get into. The condition of the roads is terrible with the shoulders washed out in the CG. We watched several RVs literally fall off the asphalt in front of our site and into the ditch who then struggled to get out. Shoulders are not maintained. Only a very few sites had 50 amp service. I would not rate this CG as big rig friendly. We don't rate this campground as clean because the sites are in deteriorating condition with very little gravel on the sites. However, the park itself is a spectacular park with awesome trails and magnificent vistas showcasing the beauty given to it by nature. We will not camp here again unless the entire campground is rehabilitated. The site was long enough but had a curve accessing the site. It was so narrow we could not sit adjacent to the motorhome as the slides on both sites were next to rails. Photos on the reservation site do not adequately represent the site. East rim Campground is in much better condition but the sites are small. The trails are fantastic as are the views from the upper rim of the canyon. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Motorhome.

We camped for two weeks with family and friends. We have a 40 foot 5th wheel, so not many spots will accommodate us. Site 56 did fit us with our truck parked parallel in front of the rig. Would have given this park a 10 if there had been 50 amp service. We were there over Memorial Day weekend (plus the next weekend) and just running one A/C caused our on-board EMS to kick the power off due to low-voltage numerous times during the very hot days. We were in a full sun site and the temperatures were in the mid-90s. We called the park personnel, who basically could not do anything and there was no where else for us to go. Our site was on the East Rim as we read that the roads in the West Rim campground were very narrow with a lot of ditches on the sides of the roads that would be difficult to maneuver a larger rig around. The roads in the East Rim were not much better and parking your rig was quite difficult if you have anything over 36 foot. We were lucky that our site was oriented such that we could back almost straight in, but that was definitely not the case on many other sites. Lots of obstacles to maneuver around such as trees and fences, plus other camper's vehicles as the sites were not large enough in many cases causing the person's tow vehicle to be partially in the road. Also, each site is strictly large gravel with no grass at all. Not very appealing! This is a beautiful park and if they could work on the power problems to prevent low voltage episodes, we would come back. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

One of my favorite state parks. The trails are awesome and some challenging - 600 steps to the waterfalls, but not all in a row. As stated before, the East Rim campground (site 49 and above) is more open, most sites are level and big rig friendly. #55 is my favorite as it is partially shaded all day and has a "porch". Sites 56 & 57 are also have porches but sunnier. The bathhouse in the east rim should be razed. It is a disgrace to the Georgia Parks system. Stall are extremely small - not ADA compliant. The park host hoses it down so it wasn't dirty, just old and falling apart. They put a new restroom in the day use area, but no improvements in the campground. The West Rim (sites 1-48) is very forested, therefore much shadier and hilly. Some sites are not level. Some sites might be tricky for large rigs. Sites 33 & 37 are nice, #9 has a porch. There is an ADA compliant restroom in this loop. The bathhouse is old but not as bad as the one in the east rim. There is access to the rim trail and parking for it near the restroom. Sites vary, so do your best to check them out before booking. Join Friends of Georgia State Parks - membership includes state park pass and free camping nights. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Motorhome.

Gem of a Campground and State Park. We stayed in the East Rim campground. We drove around the West Rim Campground which was more wooded and larger with newer facilities, but we preferred the wide open feel of the East Rim, and the walking distance to the Canyon views. Park is easy to navigate for RVs and very well signed. Numerous trails throughout the area, many accessible from the Campground. Lovely views of Cloudland Canyon. Park was busier on the weekend (as is the norm) but especially empty during the week. Well stocked and staffed Park Headquarters; unfortunately there was not an interpretive Ranger on staff when we visited (soon to start, apparently) so we didn't get to take advantage of any programs. CG Host was active in keeping the space clean. East Rim Bathrooms were old, and not the most spiffy, but plenty of hot water! Grocery Store and small town amenities is a (steep) 15 minutes away at the bottom of Lookout Mountain. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We really liked the East Rim the Best. Seemed more open and spacious and right down the street to see the beautiful Canyon. Nice gravel sites. Has one bathhouse only. It is very old but functional. The water pressure is pretty high, so be careful hooking up to the water. No full hook up available. Fall leaves were about peak. Regarding the trails. We hiked the Sitton's Gulch Trailhead, 4 miles roundtrip. Don't be fooled, it is difficult for 60 year old folks, but was finally worth the view of Hemlock Falls. Nearest grocery stores was about 7-8 miles. We will be back. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Travel Trailer.
