Overall Rating:

Very large park with lots to do. Golf course, putt-putt, lots of trails, both hiking and biking, ranger programs. The roads are in good shape but some are a little narrow for fifth wheels and long motorhomes backing into sites. Many sites situated along Hard Labor Creek. Sites are flat and generally level, and most are long enough for a big rig. However, check the online map before reserving because some sites are very short. The site length given online is accurate. Bathrooms are excellent and toasty warm in the winter. Nice private uni-sex bathrooms/showers are available. There is a 50% discount in the winter, but it is not offered online. If you book online, you have to ask for a refund when you check in at the office. Well maintained property, and laid out well with the terrain. Sites are private with lots of room between sites. Many Geocaches in the park. Cable TV was provided at each site (approx 20 channels), but some channels didn't work. Free WiFi is available at the park office but not in the campground. Very poor / spotty cell phone coverage for Verizon and ATT. We camped at Hard Labor Creek State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Well maintained park. Our site was on a small pond with grass along the bank. The campground filled up over the weekend but it didn't feel crowded. There were activities available we opted for the beach and kayak rental. We camped at Hard Labor Creek State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nice, quiet park located close to lake Brantley. It feels like in the middle of nowhere, but the park is actually just 15 minutes away from I20. Most sites are spacious and under trees. The loop closest to the lake is only accessible via a Reserveamerica.com reservation. We camped at Hard Labor Creek State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very large park. Looks brand new- Behind the bathrooms, there is a washer/dryer which is not seen in state parks. Staying on site 5, FHU, which is a wide and very long pull through. This is one of the nicest parks we have stayed in and have been traveling for the last year and a half. Camp host introduced himself and was very cordial and helpful. Park also has camping facilities for the equestrian folks. We camped at Hard Labor Creek State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed here many years ago and the campsites have been upgraded a lot since then. Full HU's with 50-amp electricity and cable. We stayed in a pull-thru site as we were there only one night. Had to leave because they were closing the park for 3 days for an annual hunt to thin the animal population. Site was very long and level. Well spaced from others. We camped at Hard Labor Creek State Park in a Motorhome.

We only stayed over-night here and the site we had was a pull through. The park had re-done all the camp sites last year--50 amp, water and Cable TV on all sites and sewer on 1-10. Sites 1-4 are pull through. But the sites are not necessarily level but the park host advised that they are going to address that. Very bad cell service. Neither 3G or 4G were spotty. We were able to text but it was slow. We camped at Hard Labor Creek State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park was great, they have redone the campground, both bath houses are new and there are 10 full hookup sites 1-10, every site that we checked had 30 and 50 amp. All the wood around the campsites is new. Park rangers were very nice and helpful. Golf course was very nice. We camped at Hard Labor Creek State Park in a Motorhome.

Took my two grandsons for a 2 night stay at this State Park near my home. The park has recently undergone a large renovation and in my opinion it was tax money well spent. Campsites have been upgraded with new gravel, roads repaved, underbrush cleared, etc. Park has lots to offer. We played real golf, putt putt, and the boys went swimming at the beach area. A few sites added sewer hookups and the cable was being re-done while we were here. My only complaints were no wifi or cell phone service, and my pull thru site was a little off level. If you have stayed here before, give it another try. Much improved. We camped at Hard Labor Creek State Park in a Motorhome.

Better than we expected! Large and clean sites with plenty of space. We stayed at #26 and it was flat. Sites closer to the stream are smaller, but there is still plenty of room for a fifth wheel or large travel trailer. People are supper friendly and bath houses were clean. It was quiet and there is space for any size camper in the park. Large swim area and a small lake for small boat with no motors as well. The only thing is the bath house near the circle with lake views is not updated. We camped at Hard Labor Creek State Park in a Travel Trailer.

MH's towing heed the RR warning if coming in via the signs. Very sharp incline, there are a couple of big lots near the park turnoff on US-278 for unhooking. The CG here has lots of nice level sites, mostly back-ins. Paid $28 less 20% senior discount, plus $1 for 10 cable TV stations. No Verizon cell or broadband in CG, but there was a usable signal near the office. We had a really big level site. Only downside is the CG exit and dump stations are on the same narrow road. So you could be stuck in a dump line if only trying to go somewhere. The golf course was overloaded on a Friday; we drove off the course after 5 hours and having 4 more holes to play. Not acceptable at all. Laura Walker and Little Ocmulgee are much better options. We camped at Hard Labor Creek State Park in a Motorhome.

One of the nicest parks in Georgia...close to cute towns like Rutledge and Madison, Ga. Lake is loaded with bass and brim. Popular with horse folks. Some of the nicest sites feature two and three tiers - a place to park, a lower level for tents and chairs, and another level for picnic table and fire rings. Very friendly staff, well-secluded sites. Highest possible rating for a state park... We camped at Hard Labor Creek State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Nice State Park. Our site faced the lake where we caught a few small fish. The sites were well designed and nicely landscaped. We went on one of the weekends that the observatory was open but unfortunately weather prevented us from seeing anything. We didn’t see much to do in the area. There was absolutely no reception for Verizon. Campground does offer cable TV for $1 more per day. Probably wouldn’t stay here again. Not that the campground was that bad, but there are many others that have more activities and more things in the area to do. We camped at Hard Labor Creek State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very nice state park. The staff is friendly, both paid and volunteers. We stayed 7/2 for 3 nights and again 7/9 for 1 night. Our first stay was in #6. Very nice except the cable did not work but did get a refund. On the 9th, we stayed in #13 which is a very nice, long, and private pull thru. I would have rated it higher except for two things: It is hard to understand their signs and we drove past the entrance the first time because it didn't specify it was for camping. The other is that there is virtually no cell phone signal. You have to go up to the golf course, about a mile, to get any reliable service. The fee is $28/night, but mention you are 62 or older and you get a $5.00 discount. Would stay there again. We camped at Hard Labor Creek State Park in a Travel Trailer.
