This park has a lot to offer with RV sites in all sizes, the marina, walking trails, ball park, and on site cafe. The cafe was being remodeled during our stay (late April) and not open. All sites are paved, good utilities, Verizon cell and MiFi had strong signals, and the area was clean and well maintained. We had space #28, an end site which is super long and has a large grass area around the picnic table and fire pit. It was pretty quiet in the park the weekend we were there, but we guess this park fills up in the summer months. Reservations at that time are probably a must. We camped at Willow Bay Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Check out The Ranch Bakery, 855 Pocatello Ave., for delicious cinnamon rolls; their bacon on a stick was fantastic! The Falls Grill and Chill, 474 Tyhee Ave, has a great burger. Don't miss the restored, old neon sign for the Silver Horseshoe Bar, next to the US Bank, 588 Ft. Hall Blvd.

Our site was plenty long for our rig and our truck. We had lots of shade. The only sad thing was the hook ups had us pointing in the wrong direction to be able to view the lake. We just adjusted our "outside time" facing the lake. There are places where you can walk, but you have to be careful because there was a mama moose and two babies, so you wanted to make sure that you did not disturb them. My dog and I did not see them, sadly, but I guess for safety that might have been a good thing. You do hear the trains at night. They seem to follow us but we don't mind the trains. We met lots of wonderful people at the park, very friendly. The grass was kept cut and the garbage was picked up. We did enjoy staying there. We camped at Willow Bay Recreation Area in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Do not miss the Museum of Clean in Pocatello. I know it sounds crazy but even my husband enjoyed it. It's kind of crazy to see the inventions that men seem to think up to help women clean in their high heels and their pearl necklaces. Some of the ideas are pretty quirky, but fun to see. You might also recognize some of the cleaning products from yesteryear. It's a fun way to spend a couple of hours and we would not have missed it. We also will return to Willow Bay if we are in the area. We had our truck serviced at Cole Chevrolet in Pocatello and those people were wonderful, we also recommend them. Fun place to eat was Abracadabra. The only problem with this restaurant is the portions are huge, but the service and the food is wonderful. If you have time I would also recommend City of Rocks. What a wonderful place. Hard to believe the pioneers pass through here.

This has to be one of the finest parks we've ever stayed in! No, there is no pool or hot tub but you are right on the lake and just about every site has a view of the water. The pull thru sites are extra long (enough for your rig, your tow car and a boat!) and the grass, between the sites, is lush. Trees provide just enough shade and quite a few of the sites are aligned so your satellite dish has a clear shot. The staff and owners could not be nicer; they clearly want you to have a good time. There are ball fields, a cafe and an extra wide boat ramp with two docks. Its kayak and SUP board friendly. It's also pet friendly. There is a paved walking path along the water and, if you're lucky, you might see one of the resident moose. Excellent wildlife and lots of birds. The only downside is there is a very active train track running along the back side of the park. If you're rig is closed up, you probably won't hear it. Even still, it didn't keep me from giving this park five stars. We camped at Willow Bay Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

All sites are level and paved. Most are pull-throughs but there are a few back-in sites. Sites are well-spaced apart. There is a good variety of shorter spaces and some very long spaces. The owner/manager is visible and friendly. We had to make some changes to our reservation and they were very accommodating and understanding. The campground is right on the water at the marina and seems to be a gathering place for semi-locals. Even with a family reunion (or some other large group gathering) that had a bounce house set up, things were not too loud or crazy. The biggest negative is the train that is right behind the property. It doesn't blow the horn though, so it's not too bad. It did not keep me up at night. We would definitely stay here again if in the area. We camped at Willow Bay Recreation Area in a Travel Trailer.

The name of this park is now Willow Bay RV Park. Nice shaded park with level asphalt pull thrus-new asphalt instead of gravel this year, (Some backins) with views of the lake. Good connections for water, electric, sewer. No cable, but good wifi. Cafe on site, but we didn't use, so I can't comment on food. Slight downsides-very close to railroad tracks. Laundry only had one working washer. Overall a very nice park with easy access to the hwy. A great value. We camped at Willow Bay Recreation Area in a Travel Trailer.

Willow Bay is an oasis! The new owners have really made this campground their passion and it shows. Beautifully manicured green grass, very large spaces with large shade trees (in the larger loop), fire rings and picnic tables. Wifi, AT&T and Verizon all worked well. Clean restrooms, showers and 2 coin operated washers and dryers. There is a boat launch and a cafe that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner on site! The town of American Falls is just a few miles away with a well stocked grocery store. The owners go out of their way to make sure it's a great experience. I will definitely stay there again! Great wide pull-thru spaces. Spaces 22 to about 28 or 29 are super long 70+ feet long and at least 50-60 feet wide. Gravel parking with grass between sites. Fairly level. Trees give some shade, yet satellite reception is good. No cable and the water is a bit hard, so use a softener if you have it. Biggest ding is freight trains which go by and can disturb your sleep. Nice café within walking distance, which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Food was good and fairly priced. Understand plans are underway to paved the roads and sites by next year which will make things cleaner. We camped at Willow Bay Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Very nice campground on the edge of American Falls reservoir. Large grassy areas, tables, and fire rings. Easy access from the interstate. There is a cafe that overlooks the water. There is also a nice hiking path that leads along the edge of a marshy area, great for bird watching. The reservoir level is low this time of year due to irrigation and power demands making it difficult to launch a boat or to fish from the banks. Really, the only bad thing about the campground is it's location next to the railroad tracks, a little loud sometimes. We camped at Willow Bay Recreation Area in a Travel Trailer.

Lovely park setting overlooking the reservoir. W e wish we'd had more information on the on-site cafe as we might have eaten there. Campground host very friendly and checked-up on us to make certain everything about our site was satisfactory after we were hooked-up. Nice, paved walking trails. There is a rail line which runs close to the park which can be a bit noisy ... but, nothing to discourage staying there. We'd stay there again! My family and I stay at the Willow Bay RV park several times in the summer. Many upgrades have been made to the landscape and grounds. Best boat launch on the reservoir. The camp hosts are so nice and accommodating. Ice and wood available if you need it. All RV and camper sites are big and spacious. We love it here and plan on spending Fourth of July weekend also. Rates are very reasonable for full hook ups. I just can't say enough good things about Willowbay. I fully recommend you check it out if you're in the area. This park has the best view and the most friendly host of all the many parks we have visited during the last couple of months in the US. Beautiful sunsets, and a host that is simply just so positive, service minded, and constructive. Full hookups, fire pit with BBQ and lots of space for everyone. There is great fishing on and by the lake, a nice little beach just a very short walk away, and a cozy restaurant 100 feet away. We will absolutely stay again. We arrived to find the park mostly full, due to a fishing tournament, but were assigned to one of the very long pull throughs in the outer loop on the lake front. That afternoon, 90% of the folks left, and the remaining RVs pulled out in the morning. We found ourselves in the campground with only two other RVs. The sites are mostly level, gravel surface, and have about 50 feet of grass between them. Picnic tables, fire pits, easily accessible hookups, and some shade trees make for a wonderful place to spend some time. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, as were the other campers in the park. There are a few stores in the nearby town where you can shop for necessities, but if you need more, Pocatello is a 20 minute drive to the east. We ended up extending our stay a week because the quiet and relaxed atmosphere agreed with us so much. Some other reviewers complained about the train noise but the only time we heard whistles they were off in the distance. The trains did pass with some regularity, but we didn't find them objectionable. We camped at Willow Bay Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

This campground is within the city of American Falls run Willow Bay Recreation Area. The campground has had some improvements (it appears) since some of the older reviews. There are two loops. First loop looks like it has been modernized with all paved sites, hookups and newer bath. Not much shade here. The loop has combo of back-ins and pull throughs. Second loop which has great views of the reservoir is more shaded with full hookups with level gravel pads. There were only about 5 campers in the whole campground. Very nicely maintained and clean. The fee you pay is based on services you want. Electric and water is $25 and full hookups are $30. There is a dumpstation. Boat launch is right in front of second loop and there is a small cafe at the boat launch where you check in. We arrived mid Sunday afternoon and cafe was closed so we just picked a site. Fortunately it was not reserved so we did so we did not have to move the next day. Only downside of the campground is the train tracks that run about 300 yards behind the campground. It is a a busy line and trains run regularly day and night. Was not too much of a bother but it was noisy when they came through with whistles and engines. We camped at Willow Bay Recreation Area in a Motorhome.
