This review is from the perspective of a 45' MH. Narrow highways to get to the park. Steep slope down when entering (thankfully We could 'raise' the coach's air suspension, but low riding coaches may scrap getting in. We came in early May before the park was crowded, so no problem getting into our spot. If crowded, could be challenging for a big rig in certain sites. Check the online map and use google earth and the park site map when reserving. They are closing the park in September to do some upgrades, so if coming in 2019 or later, you may have 50 amp and potentially other improvements. Check the website for what they are doing and then potentially discount some older review negative comments. You are paying for a GREAT LOCATION (nothing else). On the lake, on the bike path (very nice), can kayak to the river (or on the lake), small town and a few restaurants and bars within walking distance. Dump station is set up to use as you come in, not as you leave. We will just haul to our next stop. Originally was planing to stay in the state park down the road, but they said it would be tough to navigate interior roads with a 45' rig. Road our bikes there, they were correct. Like this area, but would probably not come back unless during the shoulder season when traffic is low and park has several openings to allow maneuvering. If in a small rig, I'd return in a heartbeat. We camped at Harrison City RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sites are like a parking lot.... very close together. The things that made this park magical for me are 1) you back right on to Lake Coeur D'Alene (almost everyone has waterfront property) 2) proximity to the Trail of the Coeur D'Alenes cycling path and 3) proximity to water activities like kayaking. Loved this. Sunsets were amazing. Washroom/shower could be cleaner. We camped at Harrison City RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Best way to come is drive south on hwy 95 from Coeur D'Alene and then turn east and north. If you drive east of Coeur D'Alene on I-90 and take the first exit for Harrison you will be on a road with lots of twists and turns which takes a long time and is hard on the vehicle.

The glowing review from 2 years ago fooled us into staying here, since we wanted to ride the bike trail along the lake. The park is very convenient for that, plus water sports. Some of the sites on the lakefront have shade trees, although they are narrow sites and you might get a stupid neighbor. The older couple next to us decided to pull forward instead of backing in for the proper hookups. Since their electric cord was too short (duh), they just plugged into our power pole. We were on the 30amp, so they used the 20amp. And our voltmeter dropped to the danger zone, below 110. Luckily, we had not turned on the AC yet, though it was very hot. Told the neighbor to plug into his own power pole ! Things got more hectic as 2 rental trucks showed up with tents and supplies for a bike excursion company that took over the grass tenting area, and some 30 or so cyclists arrived, mostly families. They proceeded to trash the one restroom/shower house, which was pretty nasty anyway, since it's open to ANYONE. We were happy to be on the trail but not in these conditions. If you have a big rig and they can fit you in and you don't use the shower, you'll be better off...but good luck with the steep driveway into the park. At least the cell and internet worked fine on Verizon. By the way, that solitary shower takes quarters only. Can't believe we paid $35 plus shower money for this dusty parking lot. We camped at Harrison City RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a gem of campground! Right on the Lake of Coeur d'Alene with marina, a small beach and the 70 mile bike trail of the Coeur d'Alene's located beside it. Hospitable camp host and beautiful scenery! There is a sewer dump on site. It is about 1 hour from the city of Coeur d'Alene and, if towing, best to access via I-90 and highway 3. The scenic route highway 97 is very narrow and winding for towing but gorgeous view for a drive. We will definitely return and have recommended the campground to family and friends. We camped at Harrison City RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
