Overall Rating:

Up front, this was one of the best, well run, and friendly campgrounds we had ever stayed in during our 1st year of being 3/4 time. The staff immediately made you feel like family. Check in was easy and we were escorted to our FHU pull-through site, 69. Utilities were smartly placed on this site and others. There was a new Verizon tower so we got a strong signal. Internet worked really well. The park was full mid-September, but soon thinned out towards the end of our 10 day stay as they close the end of September. After we set up, one of the escorts delivered us firewood for $7 a bundle. The campground was five miles off the highway so very quiet and peaceful. During our stay, we saw eagles, moose, and deer from our campsite. There were plenty of areas to walk your dog, to include off leash areas. In addition, this year the campground had a dog walker for those people who needed the service like we did making day trips into Yellowstone, which is not really dog friendly. Cost was $25 for 1 dog or $35 for 2 dogs. They were walked three times a day and we were very satisfied with the service. The staff is very knowledgeable of the area, so if you're looking for something to do other than Yellowstone, they'll be able to make suggestions. The newer portion of the campground had long, large spacious sites that include stamped concrete patios. No shade trees, as the trees are still young, but good for satellite dishes. The older part of the campground had more shade and sites of various sizes. The nearest city with Walmart, etc., is Rexburg about 70 miles. As recommended by one of the hosts, if you need vehicle work, highly recommend Woody Smith Ford in Rexburg. Friendly and fast service to include washing your vehicle for no extra charge. We will definitely be planning another trip to RedRock RV Park! We camped at RedRock RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Stock up on your luxury items (booze, wine, special coffees etc.) prior to arrival as you'll find that they are either nonexistent or very expensive. There is also a great little 9-hole golf course in Island Park proper.

Easy drive to the west entrance of Yellowstone. A great alternative to the more expensive and crowded West Yellowstone parks.

What a beautiful campground. It's so quiet and well off the beaten path. It's close to a lake with free roaming cows. I loved waking in the morning and listening to the cows moo while drinking my coffee. No dog park BUT you can let your dogs roam in the fields around the park. And we did! The dogs loved it! We stayed here so we could explore Yellowstone. The campground is about 30 min from the west entrance. There is a small grocery store in town but we found nothing there. We ended up driving over an hour to find a grocery store in Rexburg, so make sure you're well stocked on your way in. Gas is cheaper in Rexburg as well so gas up! The closer to Yellowstone, the more you'll pay. We camped at RedRock RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

The park is still being developed and I'm sure will be exceptional when complete. Staff is friendly and helpful. The sight we stayed in (85) was sloped and when we got our camper leveled, the front of our 5th wheel was low and the back was too high off the ground since it is a toy hauler. We used the showers and while they were clean, there was noticeable mildew on the shower curtains. Get a pull through site, they have patios. Back in sites do not. We camped at RedRock RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Traveling with friends in another motorhome, and we were given one of many "buddy" sites so that our doors opened onto a large grassy area that we shared. Very nice. It is a long way from the highway, and you travel through forested fields which have cattle grazing in them and you have to watch for them crossing the road. Great area if you are looking for quiet out of the way sites. Otherwise not so much. Park was well managed and we had nice site. However no internet or tv made for a long 5 days. Yellowstone was great but a little far for daily trips. The only shopping, restaurants in the area are about 20 miles away. We camped at RedRock RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We were traveling with another couple and they gave us facing sites with a large grass area between us with a huge pine tree for shade. Adjacent to the park was an open field where you could take your dog off the leash. Our dog loved it. The other sites were not so large. The park is very quiet. We camped at RedRock RV Park in a Motorhome.

Pros: Clean, scenic, friendly staff, and campers, nice site spacing, relatively quiet, close to great fishing, a 30 minute drive from Yellowstone National Park, and close to lots of off road trails. Cons: Gravel sites, most of which aren't level, plenty of off road vehicles roaring around the campground, kicking up dust, and lots of young, unsupervised, children roaming around the campground. Even with the uneven site, we were able to level without blocks. The utilities were situated to make setup easy, and we had a long site that allowed us to park our towed behind the coach. They had no dog park, but when we walked our pooch, she enjoyed chasing all the ground squirrels, and checking out all the brush behind the park. The great thing about this park is their location. Henry's lake is right behind the park, and the fishing there is great. Yellowstone park is a short drive from the campground, and there are numerous trails around the area, on which you can hike, bike, or drive. We weren't happy with all the off road vehicle noise and dust, but we were able to get past that and enjoy our visit. When in the area again, we will return. We camped at RedRock RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Fishing in Henry's Lake is outstanding as well as scenic. The Madison river, Earthquake Lake, and several creeks and rivers, is a short drive from the campground, as well as West Yellowstone and Yellowstone National Park. Shopping for groceries, outdoor necessities, and fishing gear, is a short drive as well.

We camped in a Motor Coach in July so it was rather expensive. We did get one of the newer sites which was fairly level, but no shade. It is about 30 minute drive to the west entrance of Yellowstone. It is very quiet here but we won't stay here again because we were frustrated with no cable or antenna TV services. The cellular was one bar when we got it on AT&T service, and the campground wi-fi was lame. Maybe lack of cellular, and WiFi and TV would be tolerable for a day or two but we were here 2 weeks. Stores and restaurants are at least a 10 minute drive. It is pet friendly but know that there are lots of prairie dogs that live along the fences which can cause commotion when walking your pets. At the office you can rent ATVs for $400/day. There are fire pits and picnic tables at the site. There are nice views of the mountains and valleys. We camped at RedRock RV Park in a Motorhome.

I stayed one night while traveling with my Dad on his annual vacation. I made the reservations very late in the afternoon but when I arrived all was taken care of the we were quickly escorted to our pull-through site. I was able to stay connected to my 30 foot travel trailer and there was still some room on each end. Gravel site was well prepared and level. Good electricity, water and sewer, we didn't even try TV or WIFI. Beautiful setting and they are adding more sites. I enjoyed talking with the managers. They were helpful and very friendly. They have been managing this park for a long time. I plan to stay there again. We camped at RedRock RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

If you want to get away from the Yellowstone craziness this is it. It is about 20 miles from the city of West Yellowstone entrance to Yellowstone. Staff is great and they are adding more sites. The only negatives is the $3.00 price per load to wash and the dryers are .25 to dry for 6 minutes. Gets a little pricey when you are there for a week. Also no TV and the internet is so overwhelmed that you can't use it but in early AM and late PM. They really need to power their internet system up. I thought it was funny that they restricted you to 500 a day because you can't use it. It will probably be worse when they add the other 30 plus new sites to their already overwhelmed internet. Don't expect to use your internet. We camped at RedRock RV Park in a Motorhome.

The park is off the beaten track, about 5 miles from U.S. 20, down a paved road, where the cattle roam without fences. The park roads and sites are gravel, at least where we were. It looks like they are working on a new section that has concrete pads. After we checked in, we were led to our site, where we found that to get connected, we had to intrude onto the neighbor's site. There was no cable or OTA TV, but satellite TV worked well. AT&T cell phones and hot spots were spotty. The park's wi-fi was bad and usually wasn't working, and when it did, it was really slow. The park was quiet, and it was clean. Since my wife works remotely, from her computer, we need decent wi-fi or a hot spot, so we probably wouldn't stay there again. We camped at RedRock RV Park in a Motorhome.
