This is a self-pay campground next to the rodeo arena. We stayed here 2 nights in a fifth wheel and got to watch a small riding competition going on in the indoor arena. We could not fit on any of the grass sites, so we parked long ways across several sites since there were only a few campers there. Several campers were obviously living there. We called all three listed phone numbers to obtain the restroom door code, but no one answered so we couldn't use the campground facilities. However, the restroom at the arena next to the campground was unlocked (no showers) and was reasonably clean despite the mud and horse manure all over the parking lot. Very quiet campground although there was a train track nearby. We camped at Bannock County Fairgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed 1 night before team roping event. Parking area had nice cut grass, but needs to be trimmed by the elec/water hookups. Had standing water by hookup but couldn't see until you walked up to it. If you have a long rig, may have to park long ways as 1 rig did to avoid staying off the road. We noticed several vehicles that people were living out of pulling in late afternoon and staying the night. Our trailer has shower facilities but we opted to use their "State of the Art" shower/restroom facilities due to no septic hookups. There are several open sink areas with private shower areas. The area was somewhat clean but one shower area had a shower head broken off, another had a handle that spun around, by the 3rd attempt, it was a cold shower. There were cigarette butts on another shower floor and some trash scattered about the entire restroom area. There is an onsite dump station that is also being used by several local folks coming in off a road trip. We camped at Bannock County Fairgrounds in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Park away from the bathroom facilities because that is where most of the folks that are visibly living out of their cars/trucks/vans like to park.

Great, cost-effective place to stay in the Pocatell0 area. RV Park sets high on the side of a hill above the town of Pocatello and offers a beautiful view of the town and the Snake River Valley below. Sites are primarily back-in; self selected upon arrival and paid for at a self-service pay post at entrance to the park. We saw no staff on site, nor did we observe any type of security--but there may have been some during the night. Fairgrounds appear to be very well cared for. Freshly mowed grass, empty trash cans and very clean and nice shower rooms/rest rooms that had plenty of room outside the shower area to dress without getting wet. One of the nicer shower rooms we had during a 6 week trip. Quite a bargain for an overnight stay or two assuming there is no event going on at the Fairgrounds and they aren't too busy. Very quiet at night. We camped at Bannock County Fairgrounds in a Travel Trailer.

Great place to visit the surrounding area from. Water and 50 amp service with a dump station in camping area. The utilities worked well and ATT WIFI was excellent. The fairgrounds has several young adults who care for the cleaning up in/around the park. They did a great job and always had a wave. We camped here in a 40' motorhome. Sites are on grass and leveling is a bit of work but not bad. Facilities are much better than one might expect. Virtually no service. Honor pay system. Hard to find sites if anything is going on at the Fairground. Beautiful city park close by and convenient location in Pocatello. We camped at Bannock County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

What a wonderful surprise! First come, first serve campgrounds. Very clean. Honor system for paying. Cleanest showers we have ever stayed at and was so perfect. Every night we walked down to the arena and watched rodeos. Missing the campgrounds as we are headed out for three more months. We camped at Bannock County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

It was very dusty. Be prepared to sneeze a lot. Get some nasal spray and lip protection. There is a lot to do in the area and Pocatello is full of wonderful people. Have fun!

Make sure there are no events going on at this fairgrounds. We pulled in on the last day of a rodeo so it was full until folks left. There appeared to be two different areas, one on the north side on a big grassy area with just electric sites and portajohns. Sites near the arena are grass and all back-in and have water and electric with bathrooms/showers nearby. The sites are close together. Roads are packed dirt. A dump station is easy to get to. Self-pay area with envelopes is available. You can even bring a horse and self-pay for a stall. Great view of the city and mountains. Area seemed safe. We camped at Bannock County Fairgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

There have been a few changes since we were last here. The showers have been updated and now actually usable. The also constructed a huge sporting event center about a mile away from the fairgrounds.

All of the interior roads are on dirt and the sites are on grass. The sites are not level (in either position). All sites are back-ins with water and electric. The 30 amp electrical service was strong. A dump station with non-potable water was also available.

The bathhouse has 6 showers per gender and was clean.

Picnic tables, fire rings, 50 amp electrical service and Wi-Fi were not available. There was some road noise from the freeway. It can be very dusty if the winds kick in.

We would stay at this fairground if we come back to Pocatello. We have a 32 foot 5th wheel. We camped at Bannock County Fairgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice, grassy , back-in sites. Water and 50 or 30 amp. No sewer, but they do have a dump station. Self check-in, honor system, pay by personal check in the provided envelopes, and drop box. There is an "unofficial" camp host who was friendly enough and asked us if we were "settled in" OK.

There is a fair amount of fwy noise from the I-15, but not enough to keep us awake. Occasional train, but the horn is really all you can hear. Website says there are 100 spaces, and we only saw 5 or 6 other rigs here. No events here this weekend, so camp was very quiet. No shade trees here, but for the price, and ease of check-in, this place is a great stop for overnight. We camped at Bannock County Fairgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

It is what it is. Grassy spots that are on a side hill so bring your leveling blocks. Beautiful overlooking the city. Easy to find and maneuver in. A little too much $$ for only water and electric but it had a dump site. Quiet. No picnic tables or amenities like wifi. I would stay here again. Grassy sites with 30/50 amp power and water, and a dump station on the grounds. No one was in the office so we used the self pay station. We were the only ones in the entire 122 space RV park. Some noise during the day from a few activities on the fairgrounds, and some through traffic, but that quieted down in the evening. Sites are back in with a "39 foot limit", but you could easily park sideways if towing and you don't want to drop your toad. A good overnight spot. When I called for a reservation, I was told reservations weren't taken, that there should be spaces available. Turns out I was the only one parked in the area. It was also raining, but the area was very quiet until the morning. Construction equipment, school buses and commuters drove through. I would come here again, for an overnight only. The parking is back-in on nicely mowed grass and the sites were not quite long enough for our RV so we parked parallel on an end site as there were only 2 other rigs in the campground. Clean and quiet with a good Verizon signal good water pressure and 50 amp electric. Good for an overnight and we would stay again.. We camped at Bannock County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.
