Jul 2018 - $7.00
Overall a nice park. Sites are fairly large and level. Some sites do have 50 amp service while others are for boondocking. I felt the grass and trees could have used a good trimming in order to accommodate larger rigs. We found a nice electric site with no reserved tag on it. We were shocked because it was July 3 so we asked the camp host if it was available and were told if no reserve tag is present it's open. We set up everything only to be told be the same camp host it was reserved. So we moved to a different site--no apology. The next time a camper takes the time to ask the camp host what's available maybe she will check her paperwork. - illini777

What all "campgrounds" should be - beautiful, spacious sites under the trees, the sound of a river in the background, and the smell of pines - what a relaxing experience. Paved interior roads and sites with large sites in the electric loop. No cell or internet service, but you may have a shot through the trees at the TV satellites. The lodge is walking distance and has good food, and you may be able to receive email in the bar. A wonderful place to stay and a bargain with the senior pass. - Meanderman

This campground is very well organized. Firewood was available from the wood cleared after the winter season. The campsites are well spaced. There is 50 amp power available with very easy access. There is a reservation system in place but there are also walk up sites. The location of the Lochsa River Lodge, their store, gas (diesel) and cafe are all great perks. We camped here in early June 2016 and Sept. 2016. The only criticism I have of this campground is the lack of access to the LOLO Motorway. The forest Service road to this historical trail is less than 1 block east of the entrance to this campground. However is is regularly patrolled by the Idaho State Patrol and NO OHV's are allowed on this very short route to this trail. There is no parking area up this forest service road big enough to trailer your ATV's to trail head. It is a shame to have such a wonderful campground so close to a great riding area but no way to legally access it. We have a Toy hauler trailer and that would mean we would need to break camp, load up atvs, drive up to trailhead all for a 1/2 block ride. We could not do that any way because there is no place to park our trailer once we get on the trail. - utpowderskier

This is a National Forest Service (NFS) campground 26 miles west of Lolo, Montana on Highway 12. It is a typical NFS campground - rustic, no hookups or any other amenities. What is unusual are the wide paved roads and large sites which could accommodate large rigs. Trees do not interfere with navigating through this campground and parking in the sites. If you are a Lewis & Clark buff following their trip through the Bitterroot Mountains, this is a great place to park if you are equipped to dry camp for a few days. If I were comparing this campground to other NFS campgrounds, I would give it a rating of 9 or 10. - Comdac

Sep 2016 - $5.00
Nice little forest service campground to spend the night. No hookups. We were in a 32 foot Class A pulling a car. There were a number of pull through spots big enough that we didn't have to unhook. Has a nice feeling of being in the middle of nowhere. I consider that a good thing. A little traffic noise was the only negative. - Russell G
Jun 2016 - $27.00
This was a one night stay. Spaces are close to each other we stayed in the back loop close to the water. No sewer hook up but they do have a station.
It was quiet for most part my wife heard live music at times from across the street. The restroom and showers need attention. Not bad for the money but needs attention. - mcomeaux
Aug 2011 - $10.00
This is a Forest Service campground. Very nice paved access roads and about 10 pull through sites. Tables and fire rings at most sites. Quiet but immediately adjacent to the Lolo Pass Highway 12. 15 miles west of Lolo. Nothing fancy but a great outdoor experience. You need to be self contained but there are pit toilets and water spigots available. - rncordy
