Mixed feelings about this park. We were in the row facing the lake with large trees on both sides, so the site was both scenic & pleasant for sitting outside. Nice for dog walking along the lake with a small open area by the office that I used for some training refreshering. The girl in the office was extremely polite & friendly, & helpful when we had to extend our stay twice due to mechanical issues. The bad: The electric is sketchy. I happened to check our monitor and, at one time, the reading was down to 104. We were in a 30-amp site, so only using one A/C. We used the A/C as little as possible after that. The shade trees came in very handy in the mid-90 degree temps. There are areas where the grass is mowed but, in numerous sites, the weeds are knee-high. The office is only manned a few hours a day and phone calls are not answered (although if you leave a message, they are returned within a reasonable time). The site we were in was not long enough for our 5W & tow vehicle, but plenty wide enough to park them side-by-side. If you have kids, the lake would be a nice feature. We did not take advantage. We camped at Wakeside Lake RV Park (formerly Rainbow Lake RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Awful place! Loud campers disrespectful with late night noise. Was here a week and restrooms/showers stayed dirty. Worse showers I've ever had at rv Park. Trash and broken glass on grounds. Dogs left outside camper all day in small kennels barking and crying. Tried several times to reach someone at office and there was no one there. Find another place to stay! We camped at Wakeside Lake RV Park (formerly Rainbow Lake RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

No one on duty even though sign said office was open. Completely self-serve. Gravel. No grass by spaces. No toilet paper in one stall for two days. Muddy by hook ups. Fun to watch the wakeboarders, but will not stop here again. We camped at Wakeside Lake RV Park (formerly Rainbow Lake RV Park) in a Motorhome.

No grass by the RV sites but there is grass by the little lake and a large grassy play ground. Plenty of shade from tall trees flanking every site on both sides. It is very pet friendly. Nice little beach with volley ball net and ball. The attendant was very helpful and was available til late and made sure we had what we needed. Even loaned us an adapter and brought a portable fire pit to our site for us. It is a graveled lot but not dusty. I had no problem getting internet. Nice large laundry facility.

My only complaint was the highway traffic noise was pretty loud. Also I felt a bit unsafe in the women's showers since the stalls just had curtains and their was no lock on the bathroom door. Also no picnic tables. We camped at Wakeside Lake RV Park (formerly Rainbow Lake RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

This is not much more than a large gravel lot. It has nice large trees and the owners were very helpful. It is next to a large man made lake. Not much more than a gravel pit with water. But it was really fun watching the wake boarders being towed around the lake on a pulley system. We would stay here again. This is a small operation, alongside the lake in question. Because divided hwy 20 bisects Rexburg, you have to make your approach via back roads. Look for traffic before you enter the park: the driveway is very narrow. I found the manager both friendly and helpful. Tips for other Campers:

The lake features a machine which let's you go waterskiing without the need for a boat; I didn't participate, but it was fun to watch. Downtown Rexburg is less than 10 minutes away.

No one was in the office upon check in which seems to be the norm here. They do have self check in. The board showing vacant spaces is not maintained. No way to tell which sites have 30 or 50 amp power or sewer. The park is all gravel, mostly clean, fairly level sites. Appears to be mostly long term residents. (My neighbor leaves for work at 4:45a.m.) Noise at night was unbelievable. There was a party either on the park property or next to it that lasted until 12:30a.m. The party came with a gigantic bonfire on a very windy night, klieg light, and really loud music. Traffic noise from the highway was also loud. Someone was smoking in the restroom in the stall beside the "no smoking" sign. I will never stay here again. The price shown reflects a monthly rate. We called weeks ahead to reserve a large, 50 amp site. We arrived to find that there are only three 50 amp sites (despite their website showing many more), and the camp host has one of those sites. We were lucky to get one of the remaining sites, as there were no reservations, and no one around to even check us in. In fact, after trying multiple times a day to find someone at the small office, we finally caught the camp host on the third day so we could pay. The road and site are dirt with some pressed in gravel. About as dusty as you'll find. It doesn't help that the permanent residents use the access road as a NASCAR race track. Sites and surrounding trees are poorly kept. Upon arriving our sewer connection had it's cap off and was clogged with dried leaves. At one point the water didn't work because the campground pump went out and had to be replaced. Wifi was virtually useless; it had decent bandwidth when working, but it would go down multiple times a day for hours at a time. The location is actually nice, with very little road noise and very quiet at night. With some TLC and fresh gravel this place might be decent, but right now we would avoid it. We camped at Wakeside Lake RV Park (formerly Rainbow Lake RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

We were here for 8 days in a motor home.

They have fishing, swimming, wake boarding, camp fires and wood available to purchase. A great place to stay and drive into Yellowstone. The camp is quiet and not too far into Rexburg for shopping. We camped at Wakeside Lake RV Park (formerly Rainbow Lake RV Park) in a Motorhome.

This park has yet another owner. They've converted the lake for wakeboarding hence the new name Wakeside RV Park. When we arrived there was no one in the office, had to find a guy out spraying weeds so we'd know what spaces were 30 amp and what were 50 amp. Someone finally showed up about 2 PM to take our money. Wi-Fi was supposedly available but it was nonexistent. We stayed there because of family in the area. On our last night there two families came in about 10:30 PM and proceeded to put up a huge tent, unload and reload some of their supplies, trying to keep their kids, who were whiny and way tired occupied and must have pounded about 50 stakes into the hard as concrete dirt....note above it says this is a no tent campground. All this about 5' from our bedroom window. It took them over 2 hours to get quieted down and since there's no owner on site we really couldn't do anything about it. I don't know where we'll stay next time we're in the area, but it will not be there and we'll not be recommending it to anyone. We camped at Wakeside Lake RV Park (formerly Rainbow Lake RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Ok, where to begin...I will start by saying that their website is very misleading. Prices were different upon arrival. Parking spots were tight, semi level and not well maintained, and the supposed walking trail around the lake was almost non-existent. At least when we checked in, the girl at the front desk was "nice" enough to give us the website's monthly rate of $450, even though it is now $500. She just said, oh well, it's the owners fault for not changing the website. All she did was take our money and name, no phone number, no site number or check out day was recorded (this info is only recorded if you self register/pay after hours). Apparently, the park (and its website) recently changed ownership at the beginning of the year. Rainbow looks like it used to be a great park, but now the restrooms are not kept clean or stocked (hair, dirt, and paper constantly on the floor), weeds have overrun a lot of the RV sites. The sites are very tight and most people took up two sites. The trail around the lake is overrun with weeds (can't even walk 1/2 way around), and if you need help with anything - good luck finding genuine customer service here. We had a package delivered here and it was opened by management (even though it was also clearly marked with my name and site #). Then on top of that, since we were not at the park (gone for 3 days), they just left it under our RV and didn't even have the courtesy to tape it back up or leave us a note. When we asked about it, the girl at the office just said that the owner did it, you'll have to talk to him. We didn't even bother since we were leaving in a few days. Also, their laundry is the most expensive we've come across so far ($2 to wash and $2 more to dry). Oh, and Wi-Fi was only available within a 20 yard radius from the office (which covered about 3-5 of the sites). Overall, we would not stay here again. We camped at Wakeside Lake RV Park (formerly Rainbow Lake RV Park) in a Motorhome.

WOW!! nice location on pond. This is a work in progress. No hand towels or toilet paper in the only restroom. Barking dogs at the monthlies. The truck camper on the ground looks bad. Sites were missing the covers on the elect plug in. A nice young lady checked us in and after the office closed we never saw any management on-site. Fairly level gravel sites and roads. Interior roads were large stones and dirt, not gravel. WiFi signal was not available. While the staff was friendly, they too were unavailable. While we made reservations back in January, the park is set up on a 'first come, first serve' self-registration basis. We were informed that this campground changed ownership the beginning of 2013. We will not stay here again. We camped at Wakeside Lake RV Park (formerly Rainbow Lake RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Nice, reasonably priced park at $20/night. Wi-Fi worked good close to laundry and Verizon cell and MiFi worked great. The laundry was in a new building and only $1 to wash or dry. The park is all gravel with some picnic tables and trees. You can face a small lake in pull throughs. Only 30 amp which was ok in moderate temperatures. We stayed 4 days waiting to get into an RV park at West Yellowstone. The park never seems busy and there is some road noise, but it did not bother us. Definitely I would stay here again. This park is very inexpensive and worked perfectly for what we needed. We just stayed for one night on our way to Yellowstone. The lake is not for use in any way (other than viewing) by park guests. No fishing, swimming, etc., but the view is nice. Plenty of room at the sites and it appears that it is set up for hook ups on both sides of each site. They could squeeze in 2 units in each space but I can't imagine this area ever being this busy. Facility is very clean and quiet. For the money: great park.
