A little bit of paradise! We landed here by accident because all the RV parks were booked south of here because of the Huckleberry Festival. I wasn't sure what to expect, being that it was such a small campground and just "off the road", but figured I could put up with about anything for three days! What a surprise! What a beauty! We had a pull-thru that put us right alongside a lush swath of grass that was under a big, beautiful shade tree and all that edged over the Salmon River! We quickly set up, put our chairs out and sat ourselves down to enjoy this incredible scenery and sounds of the rushing river below us. A mere few feet away was stone steps leading down to the river below, so one could take their fishing pole or just walk on down to sit on the large rock and dangle your feet in the river and enjoy, enjoy, enjoy! One of the owners came by, quietly, from time to time to move the water sprinkler and we engaged him in small talk. Such a nice guy. I wish we could have stayed there much, much longer...like I said, pure paradise! We camped at Riverside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Rafting is very popular here! Even this late in the season we saw lots of rafters enjoying the Salmon River. We enjoyed watching them and just driving the scenic byways.

Marie, Thanks for staying with us and for the very nice compliments about our park. Please come back but encourage RVers to make reservations since most of our sites along the river are taken first.

Basically a south to north one way through this park, unless you have a small camper. It was very nice to have full hookups along the small river adjacent to the RV sites. The location between the highway on one side and creek on the other does not allow much room to turn around within the park. We did have a little trouble making the turn at the south entrance, and had to unhook the tow car to be able to back up the MH so we could finish the turn into the park entrance. About a short 8% grade down into the park and into a a reserved pullthrough site that was recommended by a previous poster. Self registration and not much road noise from the highway which is located well above the park itself. Even had a family of mule deer come strolling by in the evening. We would stay again. We camped at Riverside RV Park in a Motorhome.

I've got to say I was impressed with this park! We were given directions when making our reservation and it was easy to find on the road going north. Like other reviewers state the best entrance is the south entrance. Our site was marked with our name so anyone just driving in wouldn't take it. The site is on gravel right next to a nice grass strip between the site and the river bank. The river was flowing well and a little noisy but drowns out road noise. Staff is very friendly and informative. The park is within walking distance to town and there is a foot bridge across the river just south of the park for hiking. We really enjoyed our stay and would defiantly return! We camped at Riverside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very small park located in a canyon between highway and Little Salmon River and right on the river. Kind of a self serve set up. Lay out is hard to explain, but accommodates large rigs. Highway is above the park so little road noise. Park has two entrances/exits. Entrance for big rigs is the southern most and was no problem entering from north or south. If you tried to enter the north exit from the south it would be a very difficult entrance. It is treed but my site 17 was perfect for my RV. i.e. front of it was clear which allowed for Satellite hook up. And tree shaded the rear and as the sun moved also shaded the front later in the day. I would stay here again. We camped at Riverside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Better be fully supplied. There is nothing here, to speak of, shopping wise. Nearest shopping is probably Grangeville about 40-50 miles north. New Meadows, about 35 miles to the south has nothing either.

A few restaurants in town. Mostly a center for rafting.

Thank you for taking the time to review our park and for the compliments. It should be noted that Riggins does have a grocery store and two gas stations with C-Store items as well as diesel. Hope to see you again.

I had site number 8 and it was awesome. Right on the river, in the shade and no one else to be seen. Stayed two nights in an RV. Fishing right outside your door. We camped at Riverside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Beautiful river side park. The Little Salmon River was running pretty hard with spring runoff, so it was a bit noisy. Nice landscaping, close to town. This park is a sliver of land between US 95 and the river, the entrance is really only accessible from the south. Once in to the park, roads are easily navigable. This is a self-serve park. I called on the morning of my arrival and was assigned a space, and was told of procedures. When I arrived, there was a paper with my name on a post at my assigned space. There is an easy to use pay station. We camped at Riverside RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Thanks for taking the time to review and submit such nice compliments on our park. Sorry for the river noise due to spring run-off but for some this actually puts them to sleep. Additionally, the river sound actually helps if not completely eliminate road noise. Hope to see you again the next time you are traveling thru central Idaho.

Surprising to not find much else for camping in Riggins. This place is right on the Salmon River. Quite picturesque, clean sites, level. Full hookups BUT no bathrooms. That's a bit of a deterrent for us as we are in a Class B. Nice to have facilities. Nice town. We camped at Riverside RV Park in a Motorhome.

In my opinion this is a great "little" park. Only 15 sites here and I imagine it may be a little cozy during their peak season, but right now it's Great! The sites are right on the Little Salmon River and our door is only twenty feet from it! Can't wait to go to sleep tonight while we listen to the music of the river. We were greeted warmly and was helped with parking the rig. Only 25 bucks for a full hook up site and great customer service makes this place a great value. Driveway entrance is somewhat steep and narrow, but we easily managed it. We'll be back! We camped at Riverside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Management came by several times to check on us and gave us good advice about local sights. Only disadvantage was that you have to be going north to go into the park, which means we had to go south and find a place to turn around and then had to drive through the city to turn around and go south again when we left. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat though as it was right on the river and very comfortable. We camped at Riverside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
