Tips for other Campers:

Close to everything in Sandpoint and Ponderay, including Walmart. On weekends, there is activity at the fairgrounds however it quiets down around 10pm. Nice central covered gathering area for groups or individuals with tables. They recently moved to online reservations via ReserveAmerica or Recreation.gov.

Good campground for exploring Sandpoint area. Lots of grass, big communal picnic shelter. Sites have water, electric and wifi (although it didn't work on one day of our stay).

As previously mentioned hosts this year appear to be invisible as opposed to when we have stayed previously over the last few years and the hosts were visible and chatty.

The showers were not cleaned during our weekend stay and, as the campground was very busy, this was unpleasant. In past stays they were always kept clean. We camped at Bonner County Fairgrounds in a Travel Trailer.

Positives: Paved water and electric sites, green grass, some shade. Good Verizon signal. Negatives: Can be pretty much summed up in two words: Train whistles. Day and night. Self-check in. Tried calling the 'host' per phone number posted but no answer. It is my belief the the 'host' is mythical creature that does not exist. Saw neither hide nor hair of anyone at the 'host' site. Presumably, someone empties the drop box. Would stay here again. With earplugs. We camped at Bonner County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Great value, paved interior roads in campground, easy big rig access. Verizon 2 bars; data slow. AT&T data good. Zero over air, some sites dish friendly. Clean restrooms. Many return campers set up where they want so expecting a specific spot may be unrealistic. If you are sensitive to train noise you will want to run a fan or ac during the night, but we loved it! We camped at Bonner County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Not many RV spots to chose from around Sandpoint, so this is pretty good considering. Good luck actually talking to someone from the park, like the hosts. It will take many phone calls to just reach them. They never called us back. We had a reservation for 10 nights, paid a deposit and showed up to find the spot we had chosen (cause it is a really good spot) was occupied! The hosts were gone, so they just moved in, no reserved tag, no cone, no apologies. Horrible host service. Most spots never get rented cause nobody can make a reservation. But, once you do, great location to Sandpoint, good value, some shade, no sewer, but internet and cell phone service. We camped at Bonner County Fairgrounds in a Travel Trailer.

Camp Host seemed incompetent. Someone was in our reserved site - we were told to pick anyone without a cone! Great small park next to fairgrounds. Great price for full hook up! Wifi good. Back-in only. Had to park tow vehicle across the street. We camped at Bonner County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Their reservation system may need a little work. There was confusion when we arrived about which sites had been reserved. Two of our neighbors arrived to find their reserved sites had been occupied. Sandpoint doesn't have much in the way of RV parks so this is a great in-town location. The sites are relatively roomy. Most sites are in a grove of evergreens. Sites have paved pads with grass. If there are no events at the fairgrounds the park is quiet and there is a lot of great dog walking area. Our site was just long enough for our 42 foot motor home. We had to unhitch our car. We camped at Bonner County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

One of the nicest RV parks in a fairgrounds that we have stayed at. The sites and roads are all paved with grass at the sides 50 amp power and ample fresh water. We also have a picnic table. Our side was open to a view to the west of a mountain range with beautiful trees. The park has some shady sites throughout but our big rig had to go in a more open site. I would absolutely stay here again. AT&T mobile service was good and the Wi-Fi service work well for us. We are near many restaurants and stores and within a few miles of the beach at the lake. We camped at Bonner County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Better than average faiground campground. Verizon was weak. Lots of grass and trees. Take road on left from entrance to avoid tree problems for bigger rigs. Wifi was iffy. We camped at Bonner County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Nice campground at fairgrounds. Water and 50 amp good. Nice asphalt sites and very level. Most with some shade. Very clean. Friendly host. Most sites were fairly spacious, although I saw a few that looked close. Some sites big rig friendly, we had no trouble with our 36 ft MH. Had to park tow in grass behind site, but no problem. Rodeo both nights we were there, which was kind of fun to see all the arrivals. Quiet after, so no troubles with sleep. Train nearby occasionally. Lots of of room to walk dogs. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Bonner County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Stayed in site #11. Loved it. Grassy, trees and quiet. Only thing I could suggest is that the sites be longer, as we had a 34 ft 5th wheel with a Ram Mega cab so it was a little difficult to get in (would have been really hard if someone would have been parked in the lot in front of us). Other than that I would stay there again. Its close to town, shopping, and the management was very friendly and helpful! We camped at Bonner County Fairgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Sandpoint is a great walking town, cute shops. The Lighthouse factory is there and I think its on Wed. they make their cheese curds fresh...buy them in the AM as they are fun to eat as they squeak, also taste good. Great place to have a boat/or rent one. Nice drive to Switzer Ski Area. If you go there around July its huckleberry season. People get $50 a quart if you sell them but I love to make jelly & syrup.

We enjoyed our weekend here. Convenient to downtown. Lots of grass. Dog friendly. Good spacing between most sites. Only negative is there are no sewer hook ups. Dump station is outside of the campground near the road and available for the general population. Thus, it could get busy when you're leaving. Otherwise, we were very pleased and would definitely return. We camped at Bonner County Fairgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

We like this park and have been here many times. This year, the house flies are horrible. They are all over the rig and truck. Unfortunately, every time you open the door, a half dozen zoom inside. I guess its the proximity to the horse area and barns, but it has never been even close to this bad before. Be forewarned. We camped at Bonner County Fairgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed 3 nights here on our way from Montana to Washington just to get off the road over the weekend. It is a nice, out of the way place. It was pretty full when we arrived on a Friday afternoon because of an annual high school reunion. This made an interesting entrance since the roads are somewhat narrow and vehicles were parked every where. There were no signs directing you to your site number and it took a drive through the entire campground to find ours. When the reunion party cleared out Sunday, the place was pretty empty.

Nice sized paved lots with water and 50 amp and a dump station on site. Wifi was decent at times and nothing at others. Verizon 4G was also iffy even though we had a strong signal? Some shaded sites but those will restrict your satellite TV. We had site #1 which was in the open and got sun all day. There is a train track behind the fair grounds and trains run 24/7 with the required blowing for crossings. Not a terrible bother, just be aware. I would stay here again if traveling through the area. We camped at Bonner County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.
