A lovely campground a long way away from everything. The road in is gravel for the last 15 miles and somewhat narrow. Be careful around corners in anything over 25', but you can get bigger units in if you take your time. The sites are nicely maintained Forest Service ones with level asphalt pads and gravel picnic and tent site spots. Lots of trees, and a lovely creek running through the campground. There is an associated rustic resort, Silver Creek Plunge, with a natural hot spring pool ($10 per adult) and cabins. They maintain a small convenience store also. Verizon had voice and text service at the convenience store due to their booster, but no data service. - UTTransplant

This is more of a long term park than a short stay park. I know a lot of the amenities are not available. No discount cards even though they are advertised in CCUSA. No cable TV. Very tight to get into and out of the pull-throughs. This park is overpriced for overnighters, but seems to be a bargain for monthly. - monaco cruiser

Beautiful campsite in Big Sage section. On the shores of Lake Cascade. A few minor issues such as dogs off leash and barking dogs. Such a terrific campsite and views would stay here again for sure. - Rebel Yell

The park was located among the pines on the Payette River with scenic mountains in the background. A boat launch connects guests directly to the river. With many RV sites, check-in was efficient and friendly. We appreciated the escort to our site-it was helpful. There are only a few short-term RV sites available; most of the park was long-term seasonal residents. We stayed 2 nights but this appeared to be a socially active community with organized events and a full schedule of hobby classes. Utilities were reliable and convenient with a choice of two sewer hook-ups for each site. Trash cans were close and regularly emptied. Cable TV was excellent quality, but only for 8 channels. While CG literature openly warned about shortcomings of the Wi-Fi system, we found it more than adequate. Our Verizon hot spot connected easily as a back-up. Dirt roads service 120 gravel sites with varied locations and orientations. Site 88 was a pull-through along the river with a generally east/west orientation. It required some leveling and was one of the closest fits we've experienced. At the point where our passenger side slide-out stopped, there was about 5 feet to the neighbor's sewer. The concrete patio was small, cramped and sported an undersized picnic table. If you're looking for a place to overnight with no nonsense, simple fare-this CG will meet your needs. It takes, however, advance reservations to save a space! - TMN-15

An extremely nice RV park, right on the Payette River, with 30 & 50 Amp, Shady, Level sites, with all services, even good quality Internet. The only bad thing is the sites are really crowded together, but every time we have stayed here, they have very nice, congenial people who stay there that don't mind you walking into their area to get stuff out of your RV's bays. - OlePhart

When we made reservations we said we wanted satellite capability and they said was not a problem. Then when we got there they said we might be able to get it. Which we were by jogging around in space until we could. But I felt they had been untruthful when we made reservation about the ability to get it. The park was a bit tight on spaces as well as navigating the park in and out. On the plus side utilities worked well and it was easy to level. Probably would not go here again. Also lots of overgrown grass/weeds. - hug448844

A very nice state park cg, easy to get in on weekdays. Our site was right on the lake tho about 200 ft from the soggy shoreline. There is a small white sand beach. No hookups but lots of peace and quiet. Very active resident camper who picks up trash and cleans out fire rings. Quite friendly. The park is down about 3 miles of a fair paved but bumpy road. Turn left as soon as you can when you enter the park or you'll go to the marina. This Cascade Lake SP is a bit odd. Each unit is separate, this unit (Sugarloaf) is maybe 10 minutes north of the town of Cascade, watch for the sign and the road on the left. The other units are scattered all the way around this large reservoir. - agesilaus

We stayed here over the Memorial Day holiday. This is a neat and clean state park, well kept. Sites are much longer than stated on the reservation web site. We stayed in site 43 stated to be 35 foot long. We were able to park our 35'5" fifth wheel along with our 15' truck in the site. Sites are well spaced and each have a fire ring and picnic table. Boat docks are well maintained and life vests are provided for use. Would recommend this is state park if you like crowds. - ReneeG

Lake Cascade SP is not one park...but a series of parks around Lake Cascade. The one we stayed in was BEAUTIFUL...but it was not the one we had a reservation for. As we are not from this area...we had no idea each SP has a different name and we had missed our park a few miles (20) back. The reservations desk took care of us for which we were very grateful. The park we stayed in was FAB!!! Unbelievable bathrooms!! Right on the lake..and we walked over the dam in the morning. - Slow Roller

Ridgeview is one of two "premium" campgrounds at Lake Cascade State Park. The other is "Poison Creek" on the west side of the lake (quite far actually from this location). Ridgeview is along the lake, the farthest sites in this CG will be no farther than a couple of hundred feet from the water. Some sites have full hookups, some lack sewer. The sites with the better view of the lake are situated about 15 ft above lake level and do not have sewer. The CG has somewhat of a "chinese menu" for pricing - with/without sewer, over/under 62, and I understand next season in/out of state of Idaho. The shower building is new and immaculate. Showers are free to those who stay at this CG. There are two other neighboring campgrounds (that are part of the State Park) and those staying there must pay $3 per person per shower. There is a host on-site. He is VERY efficient and helpful. They also sell wood at 5/bundle. - alansills

We stayed here for a week and enjoyed it! The park is very busy during this time of the year and very sought after location, so the bathrooms are somewhat clean, but not sparkling which is understandable when trying to keep up with so many campers :-) Also a lot of campers make fires, so it can get pretty smoky at times. Our site was spacious with trees and shade. The location of the park is awesome right on the peaceful Payette river with walking and biking trails right next to it. Walking distance to lake Cascade, the dam and the state park. Park people are very friendly and we felt taken care of. The only thing that for some reason we got 30 amps site, and got power outages a few times when using too many appliances. - Freedomlovers

Just spent the night. Nice clean park right on the river. We had a pull thru. Wifi fair. ATT signal, Verizon roaming. Right at the edge of the town of Cascade. - agesilaus
Jul 2018 - $40.00
Located along the Payette River just North of Cascade, ID. Stayed 19 days, would have stayed longer if our schedule would have allowed. Camp Owners are very friendly and accommodating. Hoping to go back in 2019 for 3 months. - Wifie
Jul 2016 - $25.00
Excellent dry camping park on a beautiful lake. We have a 36' trailer so the corner around the end loop was tight but fine. Backing into our spot was also not for a newbie due to trailer length, but we were allowed to park the pick up sideways in front so everything fit.
The only drawback was that the fire pit and table for our spot was behind our trailer, which worked fine since the people in front of our spot didn't use theirs so it was available to us. Once new people showed up though we were out of luck. The view made it all worth while, though.
All in all an excellent park that we will definitely be using again. - Webfoot0807
Aug 2015 - $25.00
Oldest campground in Lake Cascade State Park, and really not suitable for large rigs. We worked hard to get 43' coach into site 8, but the view of the lake was worth it. Low water in the lake exposed lots of beach to walk on and there is a 5 mile trail starting just behind the park. - bobcovey
