Oct 2018 - $35.00
Charming, lots of trees. Somewhat tight to maneuver around but not prohibitive. Owners working hard, have to respect that. A lot of rain had fallen prior to our arrival, owner on tractor and also shovel spreading gravel. When we left he was cleaning bathrooms. Worth a stay if in area. - Bossgreen
Sep 2018 - $33.00
Staying for a week at Geneseo Campground, in Geneseo, Illinois. ~70 sites, all but three are pull- thrus. Great internet, water pressure and amps. New owners just took over from the previous owners, and have a lot of plans for improvements, of which few are needed. Sites will get new gravel, and made easier access for big rigs. Get ready for a spontaneous concert with the owners playing the banjo, guitar, and other string instruments. Bathrooms and showers are top notch with even hand towels provided. This campground is located adjacent to the Hennipin canal, which was a test bed for the Panama canal. A bike path along the canal goes for many miles of easy riding. Highly recommend this campground as a destination or stopover. "American pickers" headquarters are 16 miles down the road in LeClair, Iowa, just over the Mississippi river. Stayed in a 40' fifth wheel. - Jimpav
Aug 2018 - $33.00
This is an older park that wasn't constructed for big rigs, although there were many on site. The sites are very close together and fairly tight. Several tire ruts and muddy areas after recent rainstorms. We were happy we chose a site on the end of a row. Overall, the park was very quiet and relaxing. Several people staying there were also working in the area. The park will be under new ownership after Labor Day. Hopefully the new owners will expand the gravel areas on some of the sites and roadways to help reduce the ruts/mud. Also, the wi-fi could be updated to expand coverage and speed. Only one device allowed to connect per site without paying extra. We enjoyed the proximity to the Hennepin Canal for biking and kayaking, which was our main purpose for choosing this location. Overall we enjoyed our stay and are planning to go back in the future. - fastlane18

There are many things here, but for us as an overnight stay, was not worth the cost. We got a 20 percent discount, but still pricey. It is large, well kept, not quiet. Think this is more of a stay put community. Nothing was bad, in fact they had many activities and things to do!! Just not worth the cost for us for an overnight drive through stop!. Check in people were nice. - jan98
Jun 2018 - $72.00
We were assigned a spot way in the back of the park, so close to neighbors it was ridiculous. We could not back in and the campers near us were a disaster. Junk everywhere. We drov back to the registration area and complained. Manager could not understand my complaints. Apparently no one visited the area. We were assigned another area, of course at a rate increase. We certainly did not expect the site we were assigned to be such a mess. This us a nice park, but not worth the price. There is no cable. I would not return. The site we were assigned at last had no picnic table, tho the one behind us had two. - Georgiajan
Jun 2018 - $10.00
Pricing reflects Coast to Coast. We really enjoyed this park. We asked for a site where we could get satellite and we were told they didn't guarantee it due to the trees, but they did manage to find us a spot. We really appreciated that. We stayed here several years ago and there have been many improvements including more play areas for the kids and a beautiful dog park. The office is very professional and helpful. We had a package mailed here and they were great about it. The main roads are paved and others gravel. We could easily maneuver our 40 ft RV and tow. The recreation center is very nice and the laundry was very clean. Weekdays are quiet with no activities but weekends are busy. We had full hookups and all was good. The wifi here was the best I have ever had at any RV park. I couldn't believe how fast it was. However, we were near one of the wifi boxes and there weren't many people at the park mid-week. The park was easy to navigate with a big rig and our site had parking directly across the road for our tow, which was very convenient. We would definitely come back here again and stay longer to enjoy all the amenities. - Danni

Aug 2018 - $35.00
If you're looking for a park with a lot of trees, plenty of shade and grass with a homey atmosphere then this is the place. Most of the sites seemed long enough, though a bit narrow. There is a small fishing pond with a couple of docks, but it looked a stagnant and very murky. The indoor heated pool looked nice, though we didn't use it. They have a small mini golf course (in poor condition), horse shoes, and a nice playground for the kids. For a city owned park, this is fairly nice, but as with most government run endeavors they could use a little better management. When we pulled in there was no one at the gate. They had 2 teenagers running the place and if they're supposed to be the maintenance crew then they're not doing a great job. The fire pits had junk in them (old shoes, cans, etc.). The bathrooms/showers were quite old and not at all clean. Our site was supposed to be pull-through, but a big tree right next to the road made it impossible to get in that direction....we had to pull in the wrong way. A couple of campers came in after us and had the same problem with their sites. Most sites have a fire ring but not at ours. We did have a table & small patio, but since we were pulled in the wrong way it was on the back of our 5th wheel and we didn't use it. If you want satellite then ask to be put in the area at the front....gravel lot with no trees or grass. They don't offer cable or Wifi. Overall very quiet, except for a live band that was playing at a camper having a party. This is a fairly nice park, just old and not as well maintained as it should be. Mostly seasonal campers. - Hands For Him
Sep 2016 - $30.00
Manager and her staff welcomed me as if I were family, loved the campground. Only downfall was sites do not have sewer. They do, however, have a truck that comes around once a week to for a very reasonable $10.00. And they do have a dump station in the front of the resort, very friendly atmosphere. - Gary-h
Jul 2015 - $30.00
The park now is owned by the City of Colona and is renamed Colona Scott Family Park. Staff is very friendly. There are lots of sites, and many are occupied by the season. Daily rate of$30.00 seems high as there is only a central dump and no cable TV. Honey wagon service is $10.00. Coin laundry is good. Quite crowded holiday weekends. Convenient to Quad Cities. After heavy rain, small lakes are formed on sites and roads. A few sites are narrow for slideouts. - Bill Strong

This park is way off the beaten path in the woods. Very quiet and peaceful! When we drove in, we stopped at the building but it was locked up tight. We could only see one camper in front of us, so we didn't know where to go. We finally drove down the road a way and stopped when we saw a lot of empty campsites. The camp host finally drove up in his golf cart and helped us find a site. We barely managed to fit in one with our back end hanging out over a steep hill. Sites are quite short but camp host was able to accommodate larger rigs by parking them sideways across 3 sites. Not many people camp here, apparently, they had a few overnighters come in. We loved the location and the quiet even though the bathrooms were not clean, our RV is totally contained and we had sewer so we were set. I would camp here again because of the setting. Camp host was very helpful and did his best to make our stay comfortable. - overogal

Quite accidentally, we found this park. Even though it had electric only, it was wonderful! There are water spigots near by to fill up with and a dump station. Restrooms/showers are in very good order. The park sits right on the Mississippi River. It is super clean, with great interior roads, large cement pads, with fire pits and picnic tables. - Vegas Trippers
Jun 2018 - $10.00
Price reflects Golden Age pass. The park is close to a shore fishing location just south of the campground.. Sites are clean and level. Check in time is between 5 and 8 PM. If you have reservations, you come in and set up, then register in the evening. Our gravel patio was at the rear of the RV and we were not able to lay our patio rug out. - A hitch and hop
Jun 2018 - $20.00
After 2 days we were asked to move our camper due to trees being cut down. We moved to another site approved by the camp host for another 4 days. After 3 days were were told we had to move due to the site being reserved. The error was on the host but would not admit it. We left and will be quite sometime before we return. Two moves of hooking and unhooking in 4 days was enough for us. Beware, no hot water for showers after telling the host twice. Very disorganized! - Kdeek

Nice campground right on the Mississippi River! Sites were gravel/dirt with grassy areas. Some sites were quite spacious and others closer together. Most did not seem to be very level but we managed okay. Some low hanging branches in sites. Verizon service was okay. We were able to get satellite reception. Electric and water at each site but no sewer connections. Dump station on site. Good location for visiting Davenport and the Quad Cities. - SNL
Apr 2017 - $17.00
April 12, 13- Wednesday, Thursday We stayed at Illiniwek Forest Preserve situated right on the Mississippi River in Hampton, Illinois. This park is near Rock Island, IL. Camping is from April 1 - Oct 31. The office is not open until 4pm to 10 pm in early April and we were told to set up, pick a site and check in at the office when it is open. There 60 campsites with water and electric, two older shower houses that you need a key for, a dump station, playground, boat launch, hiking and biking trails, a picnic shelter which can be rented. If one wants to dry camp or tent there are 25 sites and 17 are right on the river. All the sites have a view of the river and if you want to fish you can catch your dinner (license needed). The campground is close to the John Deere sites and Rock Island. This campground is first come and we would return to camp here. The bike trail runs through the campground and it is a good one biking along the Mississippi River. They did give us a senior rate for $17 a night. Great stay. - gsnakehill
Sep 2016 - $16.00
A pleasant surprise on the Mississippi River...gravel sites are a little narrow and all back-in but there is plenty of open space so it didn't feel cramped. The check-in process is interesting...go find an open site & then come back to the office after 4:00PM & fill out the papers. We will stay here next trip. - BillGr

We came in late and they met us, which was kind. Park is very old and run down. What they state are modern showers are old and full of mildew and mold. We requested to shorten our stay and get one night's rental back and they refused. Many, many empty sites. Sites very wet and standing water. Many permanent campers that are very old and in disrepair. Many buildings in desperate need of repair. Needs a face lift. Would not stay again. - MNWild22
Sep 2016 - $20.00
This park is mostly all seasonal campers. It's located right on the river in a picturesque setting. We called ahead and the staff said they had 2 pull-thru sites. When we arrived we were greeted by unprofessional and poorly dressed staff person. After looking at the supposedly pull-thru sites we decided not to stay. The sites are small, low, poorly maintained and not pull-thru. Would not ever go back. - fratney51

Picturesque park on the Mississippi. Our site was 50 yards from the river. Beautiful wooded campground with grass sites. A cabin is available to rent, also. The manager is always helpful and friendly. There is a boat ramp and pier on the premises, too. This was our third time there and we always enjoy it. - Bill from Kenosha

This is an electric only campground, but for Illinois, it ranks as one of the prettier ones along the 1-80 Corridor. Site was a tad uneven so we needed to level. We were in the pine section of the campground. The area was clean and the overall park was perfect for a fall visit. Nice little known gem. - Wildboar Dan

Jun 2018 - $25.00
Rock Creek Marina & Campground is a county (Clinton IA) park so one should not expect the amenities of a private RV resort. I did not expect cable TV or wi-fi, and did not get them. I knew the sites were electric only, but it was 50 amp with strong voltage. Checking in was an adventure. The person in the office wanted to charge us $100 for our four night stay, that we had already paid. There is no campground map or person to guide you to your site, just some vague directions. We did find it okay. There had been quite a bit of rain prior to our stay and the area was very muddy. The areas around the sites are very wooded and you are next to a slough. This is prime mosquito breeding grounds, and they were everywhere all the time. We were in one of the few pull-through sites and they were quite large and the pad was long. Most of the other sites are back-in or tent sites. They do have a few cabins on stilts. The pads and interior roads are gravel, but being so close the river, quite level. If you are a boater, this would be a good campground. They have a boat launch and several slips to dock your boat. The week following our stay, the Mississippi was expected to rise four feet. If it does the whole campground will be under water. When we left, one area was closed as the access road was already under water. I hope I have the chance to return here in drier conditions. It is a scenic area. The park is also home to the Mississippi River Eco Tourism Center, worth seeing. - Martini
Jul 2015 - $19.00
A great campground right on the river, with a lot of things to do. Great fishing, has boat slips (docks?) if you have a boat (I do not), and you can rent boats or paddle boats. Right next to the Eco Tourism center, which has lots of neat things going on.
Avoid when raining, as the entire campground turns into a big mud puddle. Also can be very buggy. - David Johnson
