11 RV Park near Joliet, Illinois
May 2018 - $76.00
We've stayed here in the past for Halloween camping and this was our first trip here in the warmer months. We visited during Memorial Day weekend so you know it'll be crowded. It was also HOT. Our site was much wider and longer that most Jellystone parks so that was nice and this CG has a ton of trees and we were very happy for the shade since it was so hot out. Our friends had some issues with the electric pedestal and the staff was happy and quick to help. Of course, being a Jellystone, they had tons of activities all day long which was great. The pools were PACKED and our kids swam but I didn't want to stand in an over-crowded pool. There's a little creek that runs along the front of the property which we played in and was quite refreshing. We liked that this property does not allow golf carts all over the place so that made it a little more peaceful. - EllenT

Took the grandsons here for a long weekend. They had an absolute blast with all the activities. Everyone came home tuckered out. Staff were universally helpful and friendly. That being said, the facility seemed a bit tired. Electrical was 30- and 20-amp only. The 30-amp outlet was pretty worn and the breakers seemed "loose". Voltage never went below 113 so that was not an issue. Good water pressure (45 PSI) but water is definitely hard. Fire rings were dug into the ground. Ours was fine but neighbor's was full of water the whole time we were there. Common facilities (bathrooms, pools, ranger station, activity center) were all in good repair. Prices at the ranger station were not out of line with what you would expect at a Yogi Bear campground. There was a fairly high percentage of seasonal sites, but did not experience any of the animosity that sometimes occurs between seasonal and transient campers. Sites were a reasonable size. Lots of trees, but was still able to position motorhome so that we could get satellite reception. We will be bringing the grandkids back here again. We did not bring a towed vehicle, opting for bicycles instead. - STBRetired

The sewer line was not capped. Instead there was a plastic bag and a piece of wood being used as a plug for our site. The backflow valve was missing. Garbage and recycling was to be picked up between the hours of 9:00 AM and 7:00PM, instead after 8:30 PM. This sat outside all day on our site for kids to kick and play with. My wife and granddaughter were playing miniature golf and the place was a disaster. Loose boards with exposed nails and screws were present with loose electric wire which was laying about and Christmas decoration laying on the ground with hooks and wire fasteners laying about. These were trip points and hazards that a child could easily be hurt by. The general maintenance was lacking and seem to be operated by teenagers and very young adults with no managers present. They were very helpful but some were not very knowledgeable in the operations of the campground. - Jim W1
