We stayed here for one night while traveling through the area. The campground is nice and great for an overnight stay. Only real complaint was an electrical issue. When we plugged in our power management system (surge protector) at site 43, we got an "ground fault" error. We checked it at the next site over (site 44), which was empty, and no problems. I went to report the problem and ask if we could move and was told that surge protectors don't really work here - not the response that I was expecting. The surge protector did work, there was just an error at that site. Ultimately, we did move over to the other site, which was actually a bit more level so it all worked out in the end. There is quite a bit of road noise when you're outside, but not noticeable once we went to bed. Other than the issue with the electric, this was a great campground. We camped at Tincup RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We were traveling and needed an overnight near I74 and this fit the requirements. It was quiet, seemed safe, and was neatly maintained. It was a hot evening, and although the campground looked almost full, we saw only a couple of people outside. It was probably $10 more than the price should have been, but it was convenient for us and we would stop there again. A good rating to us means that it is adequate for our needs for that particular time and no stand out negatives. We camped at Tincup RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is an older park probably once surrounded by farm but now suburbs are quickly encroaching. Made a reservation day ahead and was told they only had one site left for Sat. night. Office staff was pleasant. Park has a mix of some shady sites and sunny sites scattered around and behind the rustic office. Looks like a mix of transient and seaasonals but the park is kept clean and mowed. The spot we were given was one of ten sites in front, an open area facing the road and in front of the office. All 10 were pull through with FHU. We were site #1 so had a full view of the grassy but now closed golf driving range. Rest rooms were older style last remodeled in the 60's but very clean. Nice playground for the children but no other frills. Our Verizon service was good. No picnic table or fire pit at our site, they were too close for that but since we were just a one night stay, not needed. One picnic table and fire pit was just across the road. All in all, a good place for a quiet night off the road. We camped at Tincup RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Big rig with tow. We were assigned spot 4. Very close sites. Not level but long enough to stay hooked up to the road. Might try to see about another site if we come back. Ok for over night stop. We camped at Tincup RV Park in a Motorhome.

It’s ok for an overnight stop. We were in a pull through close to the exit. No WiFi and not much for tv stations. But checkin was friendly and it was a quiet night’s rest. Would probably stay here again. We camped at Tincup RV Park in a Motorhome.

Close to Interstate for a one night stop over. Front sites are long enough that you do not have to disconnect. We were in site 1 and had no neighbor beside us, so had plenty of room. A lot of nice green pasture and quiet neighborhood surrounding. No picnic table at each site, but one with a fire ring is in the grassy area directly behind the parking and plenty of room to set up a chair and have a nice peaceful area to overlook the little driving range. We would stay again. We camped at Tincup RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed one night. Check in was fine w nice staff. We stayed in the front area which is basically 10 pull thru sites in a field. Very, very close. If we had put out our chairs, they would have been 2 feet from the neighbors sewer port. WIFI didn't work as we were about 50 yards from their office. No cable TV either which we knew ahead of time, but OTA was limited. No fire ring or picnic table. Not a good value overall. We camped at Tincup RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Great overnight stop. Some nav apps will give you a goofy route in. Use the easternmost exit. I believe it is S Prairie View Rd. Pull-thru sites were plenty big for our 39' fifth wheel to stay hitched up for an overnight stay. Place was clean, quiet and well kept. Owners were friendly over the phone when making reservations. We will definitely make a note of this CG for the future! We camped at Tincup RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Decent overnight CG. The pull throughs are long enough but very close together. There is no internet or cable. There is not a good place to sit outside as your neighbor is that close. What I liked was the acreage in front of your site which afforded a pastoral view. Great place to walk the dogs. Quiet with distant noise from highway. There is a driving range but I don't know if campers can use it. Ask. Golfers were using it this evening but I saw them drive up, not campers. There is grass between sites. Good Verizon signal. If you are a golfer and have your clubs ask about the driving range. It's right here on the property.

We were given one of the pull through sites up by the office. Looks decent like a lot of older permanents and seasonal as in the back part of the park. Very tight lot spacing in the pull thru area we stayed in which made for tricky arrival and departure as we didn't want to disconnect our tow. Roads and grounds were very muddy and soggy during our stay. Open field for walking your pets. Looked like there was an old driving range on the property. The office and rest rooms are a bit tired looking. Ok for an overnight stop. We camped at Tincup RV Park in a Motorhome.

Smooth gravel roads, plenty of room to maneuver, gravel sites, grass patio. Our site ran uphill slightly, rear tires barely stayed in contact with ground. Clean, well mowed, some sites satellite friendly, some not. OTA worked fine. We camped at Tincup RV Park in a Motorhome.

Camped here for just an overnight. Got a good long pull through in the front. Water sewer and 50 amp. Sites were very narrow, the neighbors sewer was about 2 feet from our step. But served our purpose well. Military gets a $5 discount. We camped at Tincup RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Nice midsize RV park, with several sections: an entryway row of sites (next to golf driving range) that are pretty close together, a larger middle loop (including several LONG pull-through sites), and a slightly "hidden" back loop (which is where we camped and what I would recommend) that is very private and quiet. Lots of open green space for dog walking, ball playing, drone flying (two of us had them when I was there), or other recreation.

This campground fills up quick during college football weekends, when the University of Illinois team is playing a home game in nearby Champaign-Urbana. We called about 10 days in advance and got one of the last few sites available.

Staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and put a smile on my face every time I spoke to them! Price is a little high at $35/night, but all developed sites have full hookups. There appear to be several primitive sites that might cost less. We had guests come one evening, and there was no extra charge. Propane and camp store on site. We camped at Tincup RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Village of Mahomet (surrounds the area) has a wide variety of parks, shopping, and restaurants. Champaign-Urbana, home of the University of Illinois, is about a 10-15 minute drive.

"Lake of the Woods" large county park is nearby, with fishing lake, trails, pavilions, and two golf courses.
