Electric only. Very beautiful park. Stayed in Parkview section. Lots of trees and places to walk. Would stay here again. We camped at Lincoln Trail State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

There are two campgrounds. The Plainview Campground has large lots with at least one large tree per lot. There are 50 amp sites as well as a few pull through. The Lakeview Campground has much smaller lots but with numerous trees. These are 30 amp sites and no pull through. They are very tight and the road is narrow making it difficult to back in for larger rigs. The lake is clean and fishing is allowed but in 2018 and 2019 the mercury levels in the lake deem fish unsafe to eat. There is a lovely family-owned restaurant overlooking the lake as well as a gift store that stocks bait, firewood and ice. This is a VERY family friendly campground. We camped at Lincoln Trail State Park in a Motorhome.

We stopped here for a night on our way through. One of the hosts is NOT a people person. We had already had a bad day there, and upon checking in, he sure didn't help matters. I asked for an ADA site as they were near the bathrooms, and he said they were for wheelchair people. When you talk to him and he doesn't like what you say, he just shrugs his shoulders. Not a friendly people person at all. The following morning, I did meet another host couple who we didn't know were there. Very friendly people. Sure wish we had met them when we got there as it would have made a huge difference in making our day better. Other than a host who I feel doesn't care about people, the place was clean, other staff great, and we drove down to the store to get ice. Reasonable prices at the store too. Bathrooms and showers were clean and water was nice and hot too. The park itself is clean, sites are spacious & shady, with water nearby all of them. Bathrooms are clean, along with the showers. The pull in sites are mostly back ins but have plenty of room for all size campers. We camped at Lincoln Trail State Park in a Tent.

At&t cell didn't work in there. Was told by another host that most cell phones don't work there.

Scenic park in rural setting with lots of trees. The hosts were a hoot, and very helpful. The condition of the park is immaculate. The sites are situated well - the park was full when I was there, and everyone seemed to have a fair degree of privacy. Verizon barely registers from time to time, but with an antenna works ok. There is no wifi and no other carriers here. The road around the park is great for bikeriding. We camped at Lincoln Trail State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a pretty campground. We had reservations for the one night we stayed but considering how empty it was we didn't need them. We had a nice pull through site close enough to a water faucet to fill our tank from our site. Lots of nice trees and grass. Our site was long and level. We would stay here again. We camped at Lincoln Trail State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

I really cannot add anything to what has already been written, but thought that a more recent review was needed. We stayed in the Plainview Campground. The park is still in excellent condition; a beautiful, well maintained park with friendly hosts. Water faucets are readily available, not more than a hundred feet from most sites. Sites are level and easy to get into, even with a big rig. The rate we paid is for out of state campers. We camped at Lincoln Trail State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This is a non-reservable campground that is impecably maintained. We were here the weeke before Labor Day and it was very quiet. The ranger was helpful in suggesting sites that could possibly accommodate our satellite internet. Each site has a mature tree on it but there is plenty of grass. This is a great place to ride bikes. There's a 4 1/2 mile loop around the lake. The playground area for the kids is also great. This campground is open year-round with no hook-ups available usually after the middle of November. We loved this campground. The only thing that would have made it a 10 is full hook-ups and cable...neither of which we needed. We will definitely camp here again. We camped at Lincoln Trail State Park in a Motorhome.

There are 2 campgrounds at Lincoln Trail State Park, Plainview and Lakeside. Lakeside includes an area for tents. We arrived after dark and went to the Plainview campground. That turned out to be a good decision according to the host Lakeside campground would have been difficult to negotiate with our 30' TT. About 7 miles South of I-70 on IL Rt. 1, good spot for overnight stop if you’re in that area. We camped at Lincoln Trail State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We camped here one night in a 36 footer. Fortunately, there were only five other campers here so we were able to be next to a water connection. Site was a gravel pull through, but all roads were nicely paved. Lots of trees and birds. Since we did not unhitch I wanted to ride my electric scooter down to the lake, but camp host told me they were forbidden in all Illinois State parks. Only bicycles and licensed motor cyles were allowed. Very clean bathrooms, nice park hosts. Park in only a few miles South of I-70 at Hwy 1 and West of Terre Haute, IN. Would stay here again. We camped at Lincoln Trail State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an excellent State Park on a man made lake with boating and fishing. There is a very nice restaurant on site as well. The sites are spacious with a few paved for handicap access. All interior roads are paved. All sites are good gravel and level. There is a dump station and fresh water is available. The nearby town of Marshall, IL offers amenities such as fuel, groceries and a Wal-Mart. We camped at Lincoln Trail State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
