We were only there overnight and didn't see a lot of the park, but were impressed with what we did see. Lots of woods, nice level lots with a lot of space between them. Each had a deck where the picnic table is located. Grounds were nicely kept. Only issue we had is we got there after 8:00 and there was no one to tell us anything - camp host had sign he was off duty, see ranger. Drove back to the entrance where the park office is located and no one was there and there was nothing posted to tell us what to do. So we picked a spot as we have been in other state parks that permit it. The next morning on our way to the office on our way out, we flagged down the ranger and paid our fee. Seems the office closes at 4:00 and we did what we were supposed to do. You can make reservations online. We camped at Walnut Point State Park in a Motorhome.

Showed up July 3 without reservations; park was only about 1/4 full and we had our pick of spots for the night even though there were no spots available after that due to the July 4th weekend. Parked in a great spot near the lake. Fireflies put on a great light show! We camped at Walnut Point State Park in a Motorhome.

This was a nice, clean, quiet park. It had easy access to the lake. Trash cans with lids kept any animals away. There was plenty of shade. We camped at Walnut Point State Park in a Tent.

Very nice and quiet park. Easy access to lake for fishing and boating. Band played on Saturday night. Very quiet through out the park. Rangers and Camp Host were present numerous times during the day. Trash cans with lids were located between each site and picked up each morning. We camped at Walnut Point State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Quiet park most of the time except friday/saturday nights; They host free concerts 6pm-9pm. Campers are welcomed to stop by the concessions area to listen although you can hear the music through the campground. They have 33 sites with 13 sites being in the front half and 20 sites in the back half with the shower building dividing between the two areas. Concessions stand close by and serves good food also has boat rentals, ice, & wood, etc... Several types of camping are offered at Walnut Point State Park. "Class A" camping areas offer campers use of electric hook-ups and a shower building with flush toilets. In addition, "Class C" walk-in tent camping areas and a group camping area (youth and adult) are available. Drinking water and a sanitary dump station are provided. During cold weather, camp facilities are subject to closure. Campers are reminded they are required to have their primary camping unit with them before they can occupy a site and obtain a permit. Currently, all Class "A and C" campsites are available for reservation. The group camping area and two large picnic shelters are also reservable. Please contact the park office for current information. PET Restrictions are: all noisy, vicious or dangerous animals are not allowed. We enjoy this campground and would reccomend reservations on most good weather weekends as there are only 33 sites (not including walk in tent sites) And the campground fills up fast. We will camp here again. We camped at Walnut Point State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This state park is quite and very well kept! The host are very nice and take pride in their park. There is a covered garbage can in between each site. This is our number one state park! We camped at Walnut Point State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
