Stayed in rv, daughter stayed in tent with her family. Great dog park to let them run and clean. Had a huge owl by our site, beautiful but my daughter being from city did not know what that noise was during the night. Has very large dog in tent to protect her from this vicious owl....{<: Great place to stay, gravel but level. - The Fords1959
Jul 2015 - $24.00
Quick check in. Gravel sites but seemed level. Pull thru sites for big rigs. Good WiFi. A really nice gated grass area for pets to run around without a leash. Plenty of grassy area behind, in front and between sites. Picnic table and a tree at each site. Park is not overcrowded at all and it's super quite. Staff is super friendly and really cared that we had a good stay. Even offered to give us a ride to the Chevy dealer in town where we were having our tow car serviced. We would definitely stay here again. - EggerMar
May 2012 - $17.00
We stayed in this campground because it was close to our daughters house and we came to visit our new grandson. We stayed for 3 weeks. The camp hosts are very nice and helpful and I would give the little campground a 10 but can't due to the conditions of the bathrooms. The bathrooms are very primitive and dirty. One toilet had no seat, one sink was broke, no soap or paper towels. The showers offer little privacy, have push button knobs, no where to set your things and there were cigarette butts and old toilet paper on the floor. YUCK! We stayed in a treeless, gravel pull through. The space was huge and clean. They due have nice sites with trees but they aren't as big. Wi-Fi worked good but had terrible TV reception. Nice, quaint little park but if you stay here definitely bring your own potty and shower. - Bolt

We stayed here with a gathering of motorcyclists. It was a great place for a gathering of this size. The only complaint was the roads were very dusty. - dreamer51

Aug 2019 - $17.00
Lots of seasonal campers in a nicely kept city park on a small lake with a swim area and boat launch. A gravel path running around the lake was used by many joggers & walkers. We had a pull thru site P5 that fronted a large open field giving us a feeling of privacy. There was a ball game at the adjacent field with lots of fans cheering but after the game all was quiet. Good over night stop with an excellent price. - Appleknocker
Jul 2019 - $17.00
It’s a hidden gem. The owner is outstanding and takes care of the place. They are fixing the restroom and showers. The kids had several playgrounds available. Wish they had a place for swimming. There was a a lake and the office has fishing rods I’d needed. We had a great stay. - LindaMarc
May 2019 - $20.00
Nice little park in a small Illinois town that is picturesque Americana. Easy access for Interstate. Facilities were well kept, and there are several playgrounds in the area as well as a boat ramp and a walking trail (2 miles) around the lake. We were there for an overnight stop on the Friday night of a busy Memorial Day weekend. The park was packed with locals there for the weekend. Apparently one family really wanted our spot for the weekend, but we had reserved it for Friday only. So they double-booked it. We basically had a tent ten feet out our front door. The camp staff were apologetic, but did not offer a refund, and knew as well as we did that there was nowhere else to camp within miles. Nice park; less than stellar service; great price! - Milesdowntheroad

We stayed one night on site 76 (pull thru FHU). Very good value. Sites were pretty close but not bad for one night. Staff was friendly. We would stay there again. - N8MD
Aug 2019 - $35.00
Called ahead for a one night reservation. Easy access from the highway. Check in was quick and easy, friendly office staff. Assigned a long pull thru FHU site with 20,30,50amp service. Interior roads are gravel and easy to navigate. Site was also gravel and level enough for a one night stay. Utilities and sewer well placed and no problems encountered. Clean restroom/shower combination rooms. Lots of cable channels. Good park for overnight or a couple of days to explore the area. We would stay here again. - 21fbrs
Aug 2019 - $32.00
Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We have added this as one of our favorites. - Kenneth Hoover

Nov 2019 - $47.00
Park is separated by a road. We came in at night and thankfully the owner came out to guide us to a site. We would never have found it otherwise. In the morning we saw our site was spacious and located by a pond. Very nice. They have lots of play areas for kids. - Sunluvr
Sep 2019 - $1.00
We were greeted and shown the way to our site and told where all utilities are located. During check in my wife was given two cookies which were delicious. The restrooms were clean and I appreciated the hooks and shelf in the shower to hold your soap, shampoo etc. - Mike_and_Linda
Aug 2019 - $50.00
Called ahead 3 hours to ensure a Pull thru with full hook-ups was available since I needed to do laundry and wanted to ensure the 2 A/C units were able to keep up with the humidity and temperature for me and my 2 dogs. I can't say enough good things about the management and efforts they put into this campground. Upon arrival the attendent took me for a tour of the property and presented me with homemade fresh cookies made in-house. You can also order homemade ribs etc if you order a few hours in advance for lunch or dinner. It appears a lot of infrastructure and $ was put into this campground with some really nice touches; new level gravel pads, electrical outlets appear to be new, sewer and water hookups were in excellent condition. The parking next to the pond was far enough away from HWY51 that I could hardly hear any road noise. You can see that the owners put a lot of time and effort into making it a very custom experience. (Nice catch and release pond) Too bad I didn't have a fishing pole since that morning I noticed fish jumping in the pond. Playgrounds and cartoon character signs through-out the CG. I will definitely use this as a stop-over in the future. - rsharp

Only complaint. The removed all the trash dumpsters from the camping loops. Long walk to the 2 they have now. Of course, it will smell better in the dog days of summer. - Rodney Bensken
Apr 2019 - $8.00
Rend Lake campgrounds have been our "go to" camping area since we got into RVing. We stayed in this South Sandusky Dogwood loop several times in the past. The sites (129, 128, etc.) nearest the lake are electric (50 and 30 amp) only, where the upper sites are FHUs. We chose these sites for the water view and easy access to the lake so we could get our Sea Eagle inflatables in the water. Water faucets are strategically placed throughout the campground so we have no problem going 3 to 4 days on just electric. In this loop the backing angle was a little tight and can be challenging due to the narrow asphalt pads but doable with good guidance and adjustments. This campground is large so there were many camping options to include an area that was all FHUs. - MK_Willi
Apr 2019 - $18.00
This campground is nice and quiet. It is near a road, but there is not a lot of traffic so it is quiet at night. The facilities are well-maintained and kept clean. The only problem we had was that the camping loop we were in (Redbud) is not numbered correctly on Recreation.gov. It looks like the numbers are offset by 1 making site 151 on the website actually Site 150. Luckily we have a small RV so this is not a problem, but if you had a larger rig you might have trouble getting into Site 151. Also the real 151 does not have much shade in the afternoon. This campground is peaceful, with about a mile walk to a nice beach area and easy access to 20+ miles of paved bike trails. - Bogie71

Oct 2019 - $16.00
The sites are set up nicely at this campground but there is a lot of traffic noise from nearby I-57, with additional noise coming from some sort of machinery in the woods if you are in sites 79-81 along the water. Everything was clean and very well-maintained. Most of the campsites are close to level but there are some that look like they could be a real challenge. We have stayed at the other campgrounds around Rend Lake as well and they are all nice. We would stay here again, but maybe in a section a little farther away from the highway. - Bogie71
Aug 2019 - $20.00
We have stayed at this park before so that's why we picked it again on our way back up north. The park is really nice with spacious sites and lots of deer that visit. We were only there for an overnight. The only part that bothered us somewhat is that we had reserved a site months ahead of time and had driven about 6-1/2 hours to get there. It was hot and humid. We checked in at the gate and the lady gave us our tag and we proceeded to the site and began to set up. We were nearly done when a ranger came by and asked us if we were setting up. We said "yes" and he said we would have to move because they were coming in the morning to cut down a tree on the site we had reserved. I was really frustrated after setting up and having to move. Why wouldn't the person at the gate have that information? We moved to the next site over, which was still a full hookup site, but it kind of left a bad taste in our mouth. When we got home I noticed I had an email from them with the different site number on there. I wasn't checking my email while we were gone and it was sent the same day we were to arrive. We still like the park and would probably stay again. - Southbar
Apr 2019 - $12.00
We were walk-ins, and they went above and beyond to get us in. We called ahead and she had two full hookup sites left - but then we were delayed because of a traffic accident. She was so nice about it and even left a map in her outside box so we could find our way to our site. We had a fabulous waterfront site from a last-minute cancellation. Only minor complaint is the traffic noise from I-57, which is quite noticeable at night. The circle on my picture shows where I-57 crosses Rend Lake, doesn't look close but it sounds close. - janci

The 5 COE campgrounds share common management, and I have driven through 3 of the areas. Comments in this paragraph should apply to all five. Roads to and in the areas were in good shape, blacktop with no trees overhanging the roads. Sites were paved with picnic tables and fire rings. Area was mown and trimmed. Facilities were clean and in good working order. Camp hosts are available. Different loops or camp areas have different characteristics and utility options. We camped on the White Oak loop. This loop is 50A electric only. Sites were huge!! Playground was in excellent condition. It was very quiet even though there were several families with children. There were no bad sites. Many had lake views. Sites appeared to be level side to side, but not necessarily front to back. Ours was among the worst, but I was able to level without blocks. The front was nearly on the ground, but level. There was lots of shade, but no trees in the way of getting into any site, and satellite reception was probably decent. Good AT&T signal. NO wifi. Poor local TV (ABD & PBS) - Preacher Gordon
Jul 2019 - $12.00
Typical FHU COE cg. Somewhat crowded with mainly a boating crowd. They were happy but not obnoxious. were quiet after 10 PM/ Site was paved with FHU. Level site. ATT had a signal. - agesilaus
May 2019 - $24.00
Only stayed one night on our way back home, but would definitely stay again. We had one of the few full hookup sites, most are electric only. Very long and level asphalt site, with lots of shade. As we drove around a little it did appear that many sites were not very level. Sites are spaced pretty nicely so plenty of room. The lake is huge and very beautiful. There are several paved bike paths connecting various campground and places around Rend lake. It would be nice if the trails were a complete loop, but the section from North Sandusky to South Marcum is about 11 miles. Lots of wildlife along the trail as we saw 32 deer and 6 turkeys on an evening bike ride. - Daryn

We stayed in this beautiful park in a travel trailer. The sites were shady and clean. The staff was great and the marina store provided the snacks and bait we needed. We loved the clean beach area. Perfect spot for kayaking. Boats and kayaks were available to rent. - Katelee
Nov 2016 - $30.00
We stayed at Little Grassy from July to November on a work camping gig. It is a beautiful secluded park set on a 1000 acre lake. There is fishing, kayaking, canoeing, Jon boating, paddleboarding, and pontoon rental a available at the marina. You can also purchase minnows, crickets, and an assortment of worms there, along with a variety of snacks. You can also get fishing license on site. The RV sites are fairly large, but be sure to let the reservation desk know how big your rig is because not all sites will accommodate all rigs. I know this from experience. This campground was built 50 years ago when campers were made differently. You may need an extra power cord, water hose, or sewer line because the hookups at some sites are located far away. When we stayed we ran three power cords and two water hoses to reach our hookup. It is a fun and relaxing spot to camp at, especially if you canoe to the back forty where there are no pontoons and not very many people go. - Matt_Susan63801
Mar 2016 - $30.00
We were looking for a full hookup site near Carbondale and we found this park was the only one nearby. (9 miles) We got one of the 3 full hookup sites at this park. The hookups were a challenge as the water and electric were 15' on the right and the sewer connection ended up under the motorhome 20' of hose was needed. The park personnel were nice and accomodating. We had a wonderful view of the lake and plenty to watch with a fishing tournament going on. Our site was level but we noticed a few sites were not so be prepared. - dreamer51
