Oct 2019 - $9.00
Camped at site 1 in 5th wheel trailer. Community Water spigot is next to this site so easy water tank fill at site. Dog park near boat ramp. Sites are roomy with neighbor sites close but spaces comfortable distance apart. - Pathfinder75
Oct 2019 - $18.00
Beautiful CG on Lake Shelbyville. Stayed in site 7 - Electric only with H2O and Dump available. Very good OTA and Cell. Too many trees for satellite. Site was lakeside - with a bunch of white pelicans hanging out in the water. A number of trees were changing color. There is a nice sized dog park inside the CG that is right on the water - nice place to take in the scenery. CG is a little off the beaten path when coming from the North (though it is a very pretty drive). Coming from the South on IL-32 from Effingham is more direct. Very nice COE property!! - Davishouse2

We often tell people that Corps of Engineers campgrounds are our favorites and this one is a great example of why we say that. The sites are very large, level, and spacious. In fact, I'd say that the theme of this Shelbyville Lake campground is "big." There are actually multiple campgrounds on the property that vary in amenities from electric only, to water-electric, to full hookup. While a few sites in the "older" section offer a lake view, most are either in the woods or in open areas away from the lake. The large "new" section has many FHU sites, including several huge pull through sites. The property also has a boat ramp and two fenced in dog play areas. I think you could have parked four motorhomes the size of ours on our back in site. In the mornings we had more sunshine than we wanted, but by late afternoon we were in the shade. If we had any complaint about our campsite it was the big oak tree that dropped acorns on us from time to time. Judging from the ground cover, we actually missed the worst of the bombardment. My Verizon signal was pretty good and I was able to get satellite TV without much trouble. No doubt it would be nigh on to impossible in many of the more wooded areas of the campground. This campground is off the beaten track far enough that it is off the radar of people just passing through the area. It is easy to see, though, why this is a popular spot for the locals! - nazpaz

Oct 2016 - $20.00
Very nice and mostly empty state park. Shower house very tidy. Perhaps due to the time of year, no garbage cans or dumpsters within the campground, but dumpsters available near the dump station.
The "street" we stayed on was Fisherman's Circle. This overlooked the lake. It was a beautiful and peaceful view.
Nearby trail was well worn although not marked often with blaze markers.
We stayed at site 265 and were able to back our 27' TT into the site without much difficulty due to the opposing site being empty. Site 256 looks especially beautiful and tucked away.
The camp hosts were wonderful and very helpful. - Red Minnie
Jun 2011 - $20.00
Fantastic park with great lake access. Park is typical Illinois State park. Few shower houses but mostly pit toilets. Water available but not on site. Dump at entrance. Hosts were very helpful and nice. Park huge with few campers. Sites mostly level, wide variety of site types. Very peaceful. Will absolutely go back next year. - Pluto's Family
Nov 2009 - $20.00
This is a large state park on Lake Shelbyville. Since it was so late in the year they had closed parts of the camp ground. The area we were in was electric only with a mix of gravel and paved pads, as well as a mix of 30 and 50 amp sites All the roads are paved and in good shape. Most of the sites were well spaced and almost level with some areas fully shaded and other areas of little or no shade. The shower house was still open. While it is an older shower house it is well maintained and clean with lots of hot water. Lots of deer and birds in this park. - fimk

Sep 2019 - $12.00
Very nice park. Close to the lake and golf which was important to us. Would come again. Our site had no shade which was the only downside. There are plenty of spaces with shade so keep that in mind when booking. - Steve 007
Jun 2019 - $18.00
The only drawback the grass area around our site, as well as the entire park was a foot high. - PATCZAR
Aug 2016 - $12.00
We love this campground! We camp nearly 3 weekends out of the month most of the time and this place has nearly everything or it's nearby. We usually camp with friends so we enjoy some of the buddy sites. The only complaint we have about this is that there is only one buddy site with full service in the entire park and some of the buddy sites are not set up very well and in need of rethinking for the layout. There are many of them that the campers are door to back of your buddies camper and others that one of the two sites are set up backwards from all camper set ups. Meaning your door will be on the wrong side of the site so you can't use a camper attached awning and you have to walk around your camper to get to the table and fire ring unless you have a small camper and get creative. Other than that there is a site for everyone and every style here. Group, secluded, sunny, tree covered, water front, in the hills, and group style areas. Like I said this is a great place and even has boat launch if you have that kind of money lol. - firemaninil

We camped at tent only site 28. The view of the lake is awesome! We had electric at our site. The tent pad was clean, the picnic table was in good repair and the fire/ grill pit was clean. I didn't have high expectations of the showers or the restrooms, but they were clean and maintained. My boys loved exploring the beachy area below our site, it is not for swimming. The staff was nice. My only complaint is the directions on the actual campground website/ confirmation e-mail were wrong. There are signs to guide you, but GPS devices and the written directions may lead you astray! We just went to the beach. We were only there 3 nights and it was more just to unplug and relax. - KB-FD
Aug 2015 - $18.00
We went to this campground with the expectation of having free wifi and cable, since it is listed in their amenities. Upon arriving the camp host informed us that they did not have either. We were very disappointed. We went across the lake and stayed at another COE campground. - Gary Stanton
May 2008 - $18.00
This campground is really nice. Some sites with Electricity, but private ones mostly do not have it. Restrooms could use some work and cleaning. Nice water access with some steep hills. Overall pretty good!!! - JanaBeaty

After a day of driving, the last half through rain, the hosts at the gate of a campground need to be focused on the guest, not Illinois electoral politics. Excuse me for planning a trip to a location in Illinois that they don't like because of politics. Geeze. Anyhow, Lithia Springs is a combination of level and sloping sites, and is showing some age with regard to infrastructure. It's hard to believe that this CG is a COE area, given the bizarre slopes on some of the campsites. So easy to fix with a bobcat and level. One of the least desirable COEs we have ever stayed at. Pesticide people came by and sprayed herbicides all over every empty sites. Could be smelled at occupied sites for hours. Lots of deer ticks. Bathrooms grimy, concrete floors mildewed. Hookups and power supply was fine. Yes, the end of the road cul-de-sacs were indeed tight. Large rigs and fivers should not attempt. Dark and quiet at night. People in campground pretty friendly. But the hosts? Just hope they haven't been watching a "news" channel all day at the gate or you'll be grumped at for vacationing against their opinions. We looked around the area. Not a lot to do. Honestly, boring. We would never camp here again. - The Happy Traveler
Oct 2018 - $24.00
More restrooms than trash cans! Be sure to bring leveling material as campsites are not very level. Nicely spaced sites with beautiful trees, some on the water. Easy ride to Shelbyville for supplies. Not all campsites have water on site. The changing of the leaves was very beautiful. - Sugar Pie 1
Jun 2018 - $18.00
Campground was well kept. Site was really large to hold my 32 foot trailer and two cars. Everybody that worked there was really help full. Restrooms and showers were really clean. Will be going back again - camperboy82

Nice place. Had a little problem finding the place with my Magellen GPS. Staff was very friendly. A lot of seasonal units but all well kept. Large pool, very clean. - flnomad
Aug 2011 - $28.00
Robin Hood Woods Camp Resort Entry about a mile on rough, dusty gravel road. About 3/4 of sites are seasonal. Transient sites are unimproved, just natural grass but leveling was easy. Electric was low, around 117 volts. Water was high (65 psi) requiring pressure reducer. Electric service post was rotted out and leaning. Not a great impression. On the good side is: wide sites, good/free Wi-Fi, the very nice pool and catch-and-release fishing on the property. No access to the Shelbyville Reservoir however. Stay at one of the nearby COE camps for that. - BbTrombone

Oct 2018 - $25.00
Still barely OK for an overnight stop. Trees are overgrown, sewer connections are hard to locate, needs gravel and just looks bad. Honor system drop box for the fees at a small office/building at edge of grounds. Someone started to redo the sewer system and sewer hookups were in the middle of the drive/parking pathways. Working water Hookups hard to locate and several electrical boxes were without power. Most did not work. We would have gone further down the road, but we needed to get off the road for a rest. A rest area would have been better. - BennieH
May 2017 - $25.00
Barely OK for an overnight stop. Used to be an OK place but has been let go. Trees are overgrown, sewer connections are hard to locate, needs gravel in the pot holes and just looks sad. Honor system drop box for the fees. Looks like someone started to redo the sewer system and the place needs a real going over. Hookups hard to locate. Some were in the middle of the drive/parking pathways. - BennieH
Oct 2009 - $30.00
This was an old run down park with no one on duty just drop payment in the office door. It was raining the day we stopped here and the entire park was a swamp. Would not stop here again. - NevadaJim

Jul 2019 - $14.00
This is a very small RV park (6 sites) on a long and not too wide lot. It is located in a neighborhood. The amount of traffic in the mornings and evenings in a town this small was a surprise. The T intersection nearby is one of the ways out of town. I pulled in, unhooked my car and parked it. Then I had to back out into the street (middle of the day so no traffic) pull forward and back into the 2nd site at an angle. The site was wide enough. There are many trains that go thru the town at all hours. Other than that it was plenty quiet. I think 4 of the sites are monthly tenants. - mrracechaser
Oct 2017 - $10.00
We had to come back to the area for a job, and Tom and Carol's Park is still the most convenient (there's just not much near Forsyth, IL). We parked our rig in the fairgrounds lot and just used electric for the month. The night before leaving the area we came back to the RV and found that the park had no water , but they ran several hoses to allow us to fill our tanks from a neighbor. Tom is super nice, and he looked after our rig while we were on the jobsite. can't beat the value. - DaBlairs
Aug 2017 - $10.00
The actual park is only six sites, but they manage the fairgrounds sites as well. The couple who owns the park-very friendly and nice. We were actually working at a job site in another town, but couldn't find an RV park closer, so we opted to leave the rig there and stay in a hotel. Tom said he would make sure nothing happened to the rig, even blocked off a section near the fairground gate so no one would come close to our RV. He checked on it several times a day, and let us know all was well while we were away. So $10 a night for electric (we didn't even hook up water) was perfect for keeping the frig plugged in. At the actual park, there is a small (free) laundry room/rec room and an above ground pool, friendly folks. It was well off the interstate so it's not a quick overnight spot, but it was quiet, and safe. (note - they do go-cart races on Friday night at the fairgrounds, so don't expect quiet that night!) - DaBlairs
