Fireside was there for us when there was no room at the State parks. That's what happens when you arrive on a Saturday. That said, we were placed next to a rig that appeared to have been there for a while. Stuff was scattered about, but the residents cleaned up when they returned and saw us there. The pool was National Lampoon's vacation, unusable. Restroom s were very clean. Nobody was at the office when we arrived, nor did we see anyone the next day. The campground has potential, but is lacking as a resort. Plenty of room for pull through. - Kvw613
Apr 2017 - $34.00
Terribly poor maintenance. Filled 90% with seasonal road workers this year. 50 amp available, but only for the seasonal workers. Sewer connection missing cap. Made agreement 8 months ago to bring 20 coaches here for a rally and the management just cancelled at the last minute. Nice location but shabby treatment. We won't be back. - Happy-traveler2
Sep 2016 - $34.00
This is a no frills, self-serve park with easy access to I-69. No discounts are offered. Site 7 was a 50 amp, FHU, pull-through site with a concrete pad. This is the only site with a concrete pad. The site was farther away from the interstate so traffic noise was not too bad. We had good satellite reception and good Verizon cell/MiFi reception. The park Wifi worked well at times and probably depended on the number of users. We stayed for three nights because of the easy access from the park to the genealogy library in Fort Wayne. We would stay here again. - Dave51

Camp is convenient to I-69. Staff was very friendly. Our site was level, but there were plenty of other sites that needed maintenance. The major problem was the bathrooms. They are in need of a complete refurb in my opinion. - G&S Smith
Aug 2018 - $45.00
Very nice owners. They take a lot of pride in their campground and it shows. Park is clean, well kept, and quiet. Lots of open space, neatly mowed, tidy, large shade trees. Friendly seasonal campers, made us feel very welcome. Clean bathrooms/showers. Nice swimming pool with plenty of chairs for relaxing. Horseshoe pits, basketball, playground, community building, laundry area, and two fishing ponds. Very relaxing place to enjoy nature. - Deb DeK
Aug 2018 - $30.00
Nice RV park off of I 69. Road to campground partially with new asphalt rest old and a bit bumpy. There some long term stays here and their sites are neat, clean, and well landscaped. Place is very clean though a bit dated. We were escorted to our site by a very nice employee. We had a pull through site for the night. Place has some road noise from I 69 but other campers were quite. Would definitely recommend staying here. Oh and did I mention that they have an inground pool! Great to cool off in after a long day on the road. - CindyL

Entering the campground is a bridge I would feel nervous taking a car across, much less a 40 foot fifth wheel. Staff didn't seem to care about it and only wanted to talk about payment. Site was difficult to find due to the roads and sites not marked very well. It was a pull through site that was plenty long enough but barely wide enough so we stared at the neighbors camper. The first morning between dogs barking and gunshots we didn't get to sleep in very late, 7am up and at it...this is not a campground, it is a trailer park with a few empty lots for transient campers. The people were nice but no camping etiquette. Just walk through your site with no regard. The bath house only had one toilet that was barely big enough for a child. I will never come back. - Goody61865
Jun 2014 - $35.00
We stayed at this camp expecting more than what we got. The Wi-Fi does not work unless you are close to the main office. Staff is friendly. The place is good for small travel trailer and fifth wheel. We had difficulties with ours. The bathrooms have a long way to go; because of this we did not use them. We stayed for a week and during weekdays was quiet but the weekend nights were loud. Lots of tree but many with low clearance for big fifth wheel like ours. It has what appears to be a man-made lake which is used by families with kids a lot specially during the weekends. Several stationary travel trailers that are very old. Won't stay again here. - sallon

We checked into the park on June 29. About 2 hrs. after our arrival a severe thunderstorm hit. It knocked out electricity & water for the next 4 days. The storm also broke off trees & limbs. It was warm & fortunately we had a generator & water in our tank. The lack of water was due to the fact they had their own wells & had to use a pump. Power came back on on Tue. July 3rd. All was well for 2 days & 1 of our AC stopped working. I called the office to have them check the plug at our site as everything worked fine on the generator. The manager of the park came out checked the plug & said there was something wrong, but he wasn't sure what. He would call an electrician to check it out. No one ever showed up. During this time the temperatures were over 100 for 4 days. No one from the park ever checked on people in the park to see if they were alright or if they could be of any help. All the park employees did was to clean up the trees. We had severe storm warnings almost everyday & during one of them they locked the office & would not let anyone in to get out of the bad weather. Kids were in the lake & no one in the park made them get out even though we were were having lightning & thunder. The reason we did not leave before our stay was over is because they had told us absolutely no refunds. We payed the same price even though we didn't have power or water for most of 4 days & even thought our power was not adequate to run our motorhome after the power was restored. The summer residence of the park were very friendly & helped each other as well as the visitors. I would never stay at this park again. - goldie18

Terrifying, crumbling one-lane bridge to cross to enter the campground. Worker says it will be replaced this fall. Resident insists it is solid. I almost turned around before crossing the bridge, and I wish I had done so. Once registered, we couldn't even identify our site by looking at it. A worker happened by and pointed to where we should park. It is merely dirt, but when the rain comes it will be mud. Our site was not cleaned up from the previous guests who left behind garbage in the "fire pit." There was a random pile of charred wood debris on the edge of the campsite where there was no fire ring at all. It would be easy for the whole place to burn down. The "lakes" are topped with scum. There is a swimming pond with water slide that appears to be out of commission. At any rate, I would advise against using it. Lots of ants around the campsite, and I hope they don't invade the RV. I would leave, but I paid in advance for three nights, and they don't give refunds. - WhistlinDixie

Run down, dirty, rude staff. We had 3 campsites for a family reunion over Memorial weekend. The trees made it difficult to get the 2 campers parked. After we were all hooked up we were told that the septic was not working and we had to unhook for the weekend. I asked for a refund of the price difference between sites with septic and one without. Staff rudely said she was a seasonal camper and she didn't have septic either. We used the public restrooms but the next day the public restrooms were shut down without even the courtesy of a note as to why (no room to post one anyway with all the rude notices about the security cameras being on and they will shut down bathrooms if anyone abuses them). People were peeing in the pond, behind trees etc since there were no restrooms to use. Public health hazard in my opinion. Also only had 1 picnic table and fire pit for 3 campsites. Staff said (rudely) that they were overbooked and didn't have any. Eventually we got 1 more of each but the picnic table had obscenities etched in it and we had young children who were able to read. Also smelled strong odor of marijuana all weekend and there were a lot of obviously drunk campers being loud late at night. Staff did not resolve any of our issues so I contacted icampIndiana.com. They were going to check into the issues and get back to me but have not. We will never camp there again and I do not plan to stay at any of the icampIndiana sites either. - camping grammy

Nothing here but a gravel parking lot. There is a small lake but no swimming is allowed. There is a small playground. $35 for, basically, a place to park overnight. If you enjoy nature, travel elsewhere. - cheshirecat

Really enjoyed our stay, family get together, 3 30 ft travel trailers, roomy sites, easy access, beautiful place. Owner and staff friendly helpful and accommodating. New owners working hard every day to bring it back to its former glory. 5 hours from home, worth the drive we will be back!! - Timhicks

Nice long pull-through sites that are gravel next to cement pad. Friendly staff. Good Wi-Fi. Restrooms and showers were long walk. They were being renovated. Too far from the W sites. Feels safe. Pleasant campground. - Snooker2

If you ever find yourself even considering stopping here, pull to the side of the road and slap yourself as hard as you can. When you can see straight again, carefully reenter traffic and run, run like the wind. This is beyond a doubt the worst campground (I use the word campground for lack of a better word) that I have ever stayed at. Yes, they say they have 60 sites, I counted about eight that were not used for full timers. Most of these were water/electric situated in the middle of a field. Access for even medium sized rigs is iffy. We scraped several branches coming in with our 30 foot Class C. Average site width is about 12 feet, (I am being generous here), not enough if you have slide outs. The web site states the grounds have been restored to the same way they were 20 years ago. I think they mean they have done nothing to the place in 20 years. Avoid this place like the plague. - axtoncampers

So sad that this Campground was taken over by KOA. We have stayed here every year but will no longer stay here. Sites went up from $38.00 with a discount of stay 6 nights get the 7th night free to now $55.00 a night. Good luck keeping the campground full now. SMH. - sandy27

Stayed here in August for a trip north so decided to stay again on the return trip. Park had become a KOA in early September. Camp is well kept and clean. Space was reasonably level. Staff was friendly. Was good for an overnight stay or longer (we were passing through). Quite a few seasonal spaces according to the park map. - Dave from Indy

A really lovely place, but not very accessible for a big rig. Once you get in the campground, the sites are large and randomly placed it seemed. Lots of city park-like things to do, but it never seems crowded. WiFi is iffy. We would stay here again. - carderh

This is a very nice, clean, friendly park on a lake. The sites are in grass, big, roomy, long sites, friendly staff. They could use to trim a few trees near the roads in park. I would camp here again if in area. - 2Germans

We were made to feel very welcome at this campground. Staff was very friendly and always noticeable. Other campers were welcoming. Bathrooms and showers were clean. Park area for the kids are numerous and up-to-date. Swimming area was clean and well supervised. Would recommend this campground to anyone passing through. - scrapperdmk

Stayed just one night while traveling. Off season weekday, Park was not crowded. This State Park is huge!! Nice hiking trails, and people were enjoying the bike trails and paved park roads. Our site was larger and had nice tree/shrub buffers for privacy. When Park is full this would be a premium site. - Kts22

This is one of the great Indiana state parks. The only trick is that you have to pay the state park entry fee to get into the campground the first time you enter so expect an extra $10 charge. - Goshawk

We got one of the last available RV spots online during an August weekend. The park was full with lots of active families and their barking dogs. Everyone was friendly and on vacation. The dump station was close by as well as a nearby portable water supply since it was electric only. Our site #344 was fairly level but pretty close to our neighbors side to side and back. So much so they kept apologizing for being too loud. By Sunday night it had emptied and was quiet. We stayed three nights. - Teribee

Called three time and left 2 messages with no return calls. Stopped anyway for overnight stay. Gravel road with small sites full of old trailers. Could not get anyone on the phone or find anyone on site. Their web page claims security and restrooms, couldn't find either. Only one bad site open so continued down the road. Water and 30 amp only. Would not stay there. - Pepper Dan

We have a camper on a permanent lot. This was our 2nd season there. It is very quiet. not alot of amenities, but also not alot of drama! Everyone is friendly and helpful. We enjoy our lot there and have been able to make improvements to the lot and camper every weekend. Nice management. The electric is weak at times, but its camping afterall! I don't spend time there to watch tv, but to enjoy some peace and quiet. - molly3791

Gordon's always has planned activities-horseshoe, bingo, magic shows, karaoke-just depends on the weekend. The sites are random-you just pick your own depending on where you need electricity-which is a bonus so no site is "too small" like other campgrounds. Bathrooms/showers are not very updated. Outside pool is nice and they did update a few years ago. We've been going there for several years and never have an issue with the staff or other campers. Two dump station but no full hook up sites. - TS19
Jul 2009 - $40.00
This campground is under newer ownership and appears to be more suited to the seasonal camper than travelers or local families. The people at the office were not very friendly nor management team well signified. The site we were approved to set up on was apparently the parking spot used by a seasonal camper; thus creating an attitude problem for him (and therefore us) the entire weekend. The bathrooms and showers were not kept clean in a timely manner during this overly growled holiday weekend. Sites are not marked thus allowing campers and cars to be parked everywhere. I'm sure this campground was over their set capacity. The speed limit was not enforced, and with too many golf carts on the road at all hours, this created hazardous conditions for the many children roaming around. Scheduled activities were not well organized, nor conducted on-time. Our overall impressions were, obviously, not good and we would not recommend this campground to anyone passing through. There are many other campgrounds within the area, therefore my buck would definitely have been spent better elsewhere; and probably have been welcomed considering today's economy. - scrapperdmk
Jun 2009 - $30.00
We camped there during the Kids Festival weekend. The location was nice... not too far away from home but far enough to "be away". They had lots of activities for the kids to do but some were a little cheesy. Our site just had electric with some grass but no shade to speak of. Luckily it wasn't a hot weekend. Wasn't exactly a quiet place but not horribly noisy. We'd stay there again in the off season. - Chic
