Eh... overgrown sites with lots of old trashy permanent sites. Too expensive to recommend it for an overnight. I'm sure there are much better options. We camped at Heartland Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

OK, it's February in Indianapolis and not many places were open. Surprised to see how many people are living year-around in this park and all the creative way they were using to "insulate" and "winterize" their rigs. Some rigs were in good shape, but many did not look road-worthy. A fifth wheel down the road had interconnected yurt structures and it looked like he was heating with wood. (Wood splitter next to rig.) There were trash bags scattered around the park and did not see a dumpster to dispose of trash. After going over to check out bathhouse, I decided I would not use the restrooms or showers. Stayed here in desperation--would not stay again. We camped at Heartland Resort in a Motorhome.

After reading other reviews, thought it couldn't be that bad - but it is. Grouchy, slow check in. GS discount only good for one night. Grass up to your knees, if you want it cut, you must borrow their mower and do it yourself. Muddy 'beach' Gross indoor pool. Old moldy trailers everywhere. Trash sitting around. Water was BROWN. Electric went out on us twice. Sewer hookup was crushed. Picnic table sitting in a rectangle of mud from previous occupant's mat and dog run. Management doesn't care. We camped at Heartland Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed here in our 40 foot rig. The site was unlevel, and the grass needed to be mowed. All utilities were at the back of site. The water had a funny smell.

There appears to be many full-time residents throughout the park. And most were not being maintained. We camped at Heartland Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This place is a fooler. The check-in area looks very nice. Then we were escorted via golf cart driver to the far back of the campground. I think there are only a very few of the 345 sites that aren't lived in full time. Why do I say this? There were many sites that were adorned with all styles of picket fences, multi-colored kids ride-on toys, multiple potted plants, etc. It resembled something between a gypsy camp and a run down mobile home park. As we were pulling into our spot a low tree branch scraped our roof, so I called and requested one a few sites over without a tree. While we were backing into that site a full-time neighbor camper couple never took their eyes off of us. It was creepy, to say the least. It gets better...there were many kids yelling and screaming into the late evening. This is not a place you want to camp at, even if it had level sites, which they were not. We did not have a toad vehicle. It would have been very difficult in this place. I did not save my receipt, so I put in an estimate of the one night cost. We did not use any of their restroom or laundry facilities. We camped at Heartland Resort in a Motorhome.

First impression - dumpy, trashy, run down. It starts in the office at check in where rude staff will greet you with,"Whaddaya want?" when you walk in. I made reservations over the phone so they were expecting us. Our full hookup pull thru site had overgrown grass and weeds around the utilities that we had to cut down before we could connect anything. There was trash overflowing in the fire pit and cigarette butts everywhere. No shade at all. Water pressure was very low. Lots of run down permanent trailers. The rv storage section next to our site looked like a parking lot of old abandoned broken down rvs. I mean, there were weeds growing out from the inside of these units in storage. There's a pool and some other amenities that is open to the public for a fee so you have non-campers from neighboring houses driving up and down the roads. And beware, lots and lots of golf carts being driven by young children, like 5, 6, and 7 yrs old who can barely reach the gas pedal. Many of our neighbors did not observe quiet hours. Bottle rockets going off at midnight. Will not stay here again. We camped at Heartland Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stayed last 2 weeks of November. Paid for a month because it was cheaper that way. This park is open year round, which is hard to find in this area. There was someone there at office every day and were nice. This was a real nice park when built, but that was a long time ago. Still everything worked at our site. Did not use restrooms or showers. There is a lot here if there in summer. Indoor pool, 9 hole golf course. nice looking beach, miniature golf, and a lot of grass open space. Had fire pit and grass between campers. Biggest complaint was WiFi did not work except at office. Was told it is being updated but a lot of work so will not be working for a while. We camped at Heartland Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an aging large park conveniently located off of I-70, approximately 14 miles East of Indy. The place is okay, but needs work.

Stayed on a monthly basis. Must mow your own lot. The utilities were dependable. Don't expect much help from the folks who work there. We camped at Heartland Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed one night, quite enough. Others have properly described the hook-ups as ancient but working. Our beef with this place is the rest rooms are awful. Dirty, old, beat-up, you name it. If you are not in a completely self-contained unit (and willing to use it) avoid this place like the plague. Service & our site were adequate although I can see were others would be disappointed by run-down permanent trailers. Wireless was down (presumably for upgrade) during our visit. Our neighbors disregarded the quiet hours. We camped at Heartland Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This is certainly no resort. It is just an average campground trying to pretend it's a resort. The facilities are dated and worn. The hookups are old but functional. We camped at Heartland Resort in a Motorhome.

This is definitely NOT a resort. It's just an old campground that's kept clean and maintained. The pull-through was level and looked out on two dilapidated trailers. The utilities were old but functional. Only used it as a one night stop while passing through. We camped at Heartland Resort in a Motorhome.

A 6 rating may be generous. We use this park to visit our kids in Greenfield. There's not really another choice. The pull through sites are gravel - very old gravel with weeds mixed in. They are relatively level. The hookups are old and in need of being spiffed up. Our sewer connection had been badly cross threaded and CG maintenance had to use a huge wrench and my hammer. This area hasn't been mowed although one site was mowed by the resident since if you have a longer rate, you have to mow your own grass. (I don't carry a mower!!) Most of the long-termers are in the lower part of the CG and that area is depressing to drive through. There are a few in the pull-through area and their sites are pretty messy although better than the lower area. The staff is quirky - friendly but lots of little rules. Initial reactions tend to be "No." I could only wash the front of my coach since it was the weekend. I was warned three times not to "make a mess." I'm not sure how one would define a mess given the condition of the CG. There is golf for a fee and the Par 3 course looks pretty nice. Fishing and lots of vacant fields to walk and for pets to exercise. Resort is a stretch but for an overnight or if you need to be in the area, it's OK. We camped at Heartland Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a pretty nice park that just needs a lot of sprucing up. They keep the grounds mowed, but be aware that they expect monthlies to mow their own yard. Not much grass, but a new experience of having to mow. Lots of leaning light poles that need a good coat of paint. Friendly staff, but they need better communication with guests. They had lots of activities for the 4th of July, but didn't tell us about them, so what good were they? WI-FI is non existent. When I asked about it in the office, they just shrugged their shoulders and said its the best they can do. Their provider supposedly came out, but never called them back with a recommendation. I guess they don't accept calls from the park. We camped at Heartland Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
