Poor signage. Roads need repair. Sites are placed so you don't see your neighbor's sewer - a real plus!! Good wifi. We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Motorhome.

A temporary fit - Sure, it's a big campground. The only reason we landed there was everywhere else was full and if space available to far for our plans. I forgotten about the state fair; my bad! Oh well. Plenty of space before, during and definitely after we hooked up. We were in a space by the back entrance; very close to the gate that leads to the RV place next door. The weekend warriors were out like the humidity and left with cumulus clouds come Sunday evening or Monday morning. Nevertheless, they have hook ups for all sizes of rigs. I didn't bother to take photos, go to the website. Our electrical hookup was conveniently located. The black and gray was also easy to connect. However, it was not leveled. Yes! I use the Sidewinder hose support, in case you're wondering. The sewer ground entry was higher at the connection point. I made it work. We did use the laundry room. It needs work, dilapidated. Fan is out of commission. It smelled. It needed NCIS to look for the body or something died and it fell in the trash can. WOW! The windows were dirty and the place was not taken care of. At least the machines worked. Will we be back? Maybe, maybe not. Over it all, is it worth the cost? nah. But, it did serve its purpose. We were able to visit family and friends. I guess a 7.5 from us. The steps' motor decided to go out. We went next door to the RV place. They had it in stock; delivered to them that morning, yay. Below cost, bought it, installed it myself. Done. Works fantastic. Again, I guess another reason to be positive. We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Motorhome.

Two sections to this park. The one nearest the office has closer, more open spaces. The area on the other side of the creek has mostly large/huge sites (very long and lots of space between sites) and lots of shade. Originally had signed up for an upgraded site with patio and furniture but this was near RV Dealership, very open, asked if we could be moved and they were happy to not only move us, but check out options and offer to show us these options to allow us to select. We ended up with a great site! We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Motorhome.

Very large campground. Friendly staff, was escorted to our site which was a good thing because of the size of the campground. For the most part, our site was level. It did look like it might have been flooded from the last rain. Grassy large site, face to face with neighboring site. WiFi was difficult to connect to, we mostly used our own hotspot. We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

We arrived at this KOA on June 12. Our site, D-12 was long and level with plenty of space around it and a patio. We found it much nicer than the site at the Holiday KOA we just left. Getting between the buildings to check in our 43 ft 5th wheel was a bit tight, but they escorted us to our site. The staff was extremely friendly and we had their on-site pizza delivered, which was delicious. We were there for the tornadoes and the severe rain. Our weather radio and the camp's alarm siren notified us of the tornado warning and we headed to the main office looking for the emergency shelter. We stayed in the bathroom until the all clear sign and returned to our site, where we saw the water was rising. As other reviewers have said, no one told us our site could flood. People started to leave and campers pitched in to help each other find their way out the back gate. At midnight, we left. If not for the four wheel drive in our truck, we would have been stuck in mud. We spent the night in a Walmart parking lot. The next morning, we called and left a message for the KOA. The staff called back immediately giving us another site on higher ground. 3 things the park should have done. 1: It had flooded two weeks prior due to heavy rains. With severe rain forecast again, we should have been warned at check-in about potential flooding, what to do & where to go. 2: the park has vehicles that should have been out Saturday night notifying everyone of the chance of flooding and helping people leave before it got too deep. Two motor coaches got stuck in mud and had to be pulled out (at a significant cost to them). 3: some of the parks staff were away the night of the flooding. The rest of the staff should have better training on handling an emergency. Overall, we think this is a nice Holiday KOA and is a better value than other Holiday KOAs we have seen. We would come back again, but only stay on a site on high ground. There are two gates. Off the exit, turn at the traffic light at McDonalds to go to the back gate. It is a shorter road. The long road to the front gate is very rough. We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We arrived at the Indy KOA in the afternoon during rain storms. The turn around the laundry room to the office is tight for a big rig! Following check-in we were escorted across the bridge over Buckeye Creek to the "D" section, specifically Site D-13. The site was long gravel pull through with a patio. Wifi was typically weak with little bandwidth. Power, sewer and water worked fine. And then the storms began again! About 11 PM I noticed activity at several distant sites, looked like people were leaving... I took the dog out in the rain and noticed water was covering the patio. At 1:30 AM I woke up when our neighbor in D14 started his engine... He was wading in knee deep water disconnecting his coach! He attempted to pull out but became mired in the mud along side of the CG road (the road was completely covered in water and could not be seen in the dark. I checked outside our door and the water was ~ 12 inches deep! I raised the coach jacks to their maximum height and waited for day light. At first light I broke shore connections, pulled forward where I guessed the road was and backed out of the CG onto the highway! My frustration, NO ONE FROM THE KOA notified us of the flooding or the potential for flooding! The bridge over the creek and the CG was mostly underwater! The next morning, NO ONE FROM THE KOA showed up to help!! We, with the other campers, cleaned up and departed using the back CG entrance. Where were the people operating this CG?? And before you ask, NO, we did not receive a refund for our paid second night!! We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Motorhome.

Camping places are scarce in the Indianapolis area, and this looked like the best choice. When we arrived signs directed us to a narrow drive between two buildings. There we joined a small group of people wandering around looking for the office. Our first impression was that it was pleasant but run down, our site was lower than the septic connection. About 9:15 pm someone started rapidly shooting semi-automatic firearms nearby and continued until 10:00. We called the police and were informed that this was normal and legal! The second night the radio sounded the alarm for nearby tornadoes. We evacuated to the office where they were packing people into the bathrooms, the designated shelter. After the all-clear we returned to our site to find our trailer standing in rising water, which was quickly over our bottom step. They assigned us another site and helped us move. Disconnecting underwater hook-ups and hitching up was quite a challenge. The staff guided us through the water to another site on higher ground. The next morning we learned that the roads into the campground were flooded. We were stranded and unable to make our appointment. By early afternoon the water receded enough so that high-clearance vehicles like our could be guided out through the water. Obviously they were not responsible for historic flooding, and the staff performed very well under difficult circumstances. Still, I believe they should have invested in maintenance and infrastructure rather than an expensive water park. Don't choose a site along the creek. We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Easy in and out of the back section. We've never driven our coach thru the front section, but it looks tight. Sewer is uphill for almost all of the sites due to the overall area and not being designed by an RVer. If the pull thrus went the other way, the sewers would be downhill. If we could we'd rate the service higher. We have kids in the area and after staying in another CG, we have made this a home away from home. Like all KOA's it isn't cheap but this one makes it worthwhile The staff is young and enthusiastic. Met me by name and welcomed me back. Assured me we had our preferred site. Not usual for any of the CG's we stay in! Indy is easily available and lots of good restaurants nearby in Greenfield. We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Motorhome.

Guess that Indy 500 days are expensive. As much as $100 per night. It was wet here and muddy. No cable??!! Bathrooms modern and clean. WiFi slow and will probably be non-existent when everyone arrives. Paid extra for a deluxe site which gave is a concrete patio - nice. We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Motorhome.

Clean, well run campground, very friendly and helpful office staff. We had a large patio site, sites all appeared spacious. WIFI was strong and worked well although not many in park. I was mostly impressed with the very nice grounds. Lush grass between sites. Site was level. Only detraction was loud freeway noise, but we of course chose this campground partially because of its easy access to the freeway. Large RV dealer next door has a very complete store for accessories or parts. We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
