Plenty of room, host very friendly, nice pool for the kids. Roads were very dusty, guess it hadn't rained in a while. We camped at Grandview Bend Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

A very nice park with wide sites, extremely clean restrooms and showers. You park on grass with water and electricity. There is a lot of shade and plenty of well maintained play grounds for children. We will definitely come back. It is very good value for the money and close to the Amish area. We camped at Grandview Bend Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

You have to make reservations. They provide Passport America and Escapees discounts. The park is clean, and the host couple that check you in are very nice people. We love seeing them each time we have stayed here, and this was our third stay. We camped in site A2 this visit, and we were very thankful for the host couple to assign us to a very nice spot. We had 30 amps and water. All our utility hookups worked great. There are dump stations, restrooms, showers, a swimming pool, a very nice playground, and tennis courts. Out our back window was a view of a soybean field. It was a quiet and restful RV campground. We went to Sturgis, Michigan for Walmart, laundromat, and diesel fuel. Sturgis is 5 miles north of Howe, Indiana. Diesel fuel is much cheaper in Sturgis, Michigan than Indiana. We are so thankful for the host couple for making sure we had a space to stay at for our 3rd visit to Grand View Bend Campground! They are the nicest people! The two improvements would be to improve the dusty interior roads by the short-term RV campers and trim the tree limbs on the route to the dump station. Our site at A2 was not as dusty as those on the line along the fence. We would definitely return for another stay if in the area in the future. We camped at Grandview Bend Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We bought meat, cheese and other goodies at Yoder's in Shipshewana. Their bacon, meats, and cheeses are delicious! The Amish restaurant, Essen Das Essenhaus, in Middlebury is excellent. The Howe restaurant near Grand View Bend Campground is great for breakfast. Love this area for it rural and quaint feel!

We have often stayed here while visiting this area which we love. This may be or last time at at his park however as the elderly couple who check you in are not pleasant. We asked for a site so we could get a satellite reception and were told no. Our friends had a site with reception and were departing the park the following day so we asked if we could move to that one when they left. We were again told a flat NO. The couple said that we CTC people were nothing but whiners. This site we wished to transfer to was never occupied the entire time of our stay. We camped at Grandview Bend Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

We stayed for two nights. The park is near Howe, the home of Howe military academy. The entire area has pretty farms and quite a few small lakes. The roads leading to the park were good. The roads throughout the park are gravel. They were washboard when we arrived, however, after a heavy rain, there was a tractor smoothing them most of the morning. There is a large inviting pool, but I did not use the pool. I looked at the bathrooms and showers near the pool, but I did not use them either. They need updating, but looked clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. This is a resort park that is owned by the members. There are a few sites near the front of the park that are rented out to others. The sites are grass with water and electric. Not all of them have 50a, but we were able to rent a 50a site. The electric appeared quite new and modern. Some of the sites are uphill at the back, but we made it work.

Shortly after we arrived it rained a lot in a short period of time, flooding some of the sites along the entry road. Just keep that in mind if it looks like rain. We had no problem with our site, but there was one a couple down from us that had standing water for several hours. The water is well water and is good. The dump station was easy to access and is lower than ground level making it one of the easiest dump stations I have found in a long time! We would stay here again if in the area. It is about 10 miles to Shipshewana. We camped at Grandview Bend Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There are many small interesting towns between Howe and Elkhart, including over the state line in Michigan. It would be easy to spend a week in the area to explore, relax and shop.

We pulled in and took a space of our choice. The sites are level and grassy. It was raining when we came in but the ground was firm. The attendant came by after 7 and registered us. They have about 40 spaces for us transients. The park has well over 200 spaces for permanent residents. The entrance road has numerous pot holes when we came in but a tractor is working the road as I write. The pool is pretty and the playground is nice. WiFi is good where we are. Only water and electric are available, with several dump stations on site. Large field of soy beans behind us and the park is filled with large trees. Clear paths for satellite dish pointing. We would stay here again. We camped at Grandview Bend Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Spent two nights here visiting RV Surplus stores and going to the Shipshewana Flea Market.
Nice shaded back-in site. Water and Electric only. Restrooms and showers located across the dirt road next to the swimming pool. This appears to be mainly a summer fill-timer / weekend resort.
Passport and other discount clubs park along the fence on the left as you enter. Great value for your money in our opinion.
Only downside was we were not able to pick up any over the air TV.
As mentioned in previous review, reservations now accepted. We camped at Grandview Bend Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Park staff are very friendly. Park is quiet except for the gravel roadways that can be heard in your coach. Sites are grassed and fairly level, spacious and are all back in sites but long enough for Class A and tow vehicles. Some trees but spaces are mostly open. Picnic tables at each site. Outdoor pool available. Bath house for showers and toilets, but could use some updating. Easy access to park and close to available shopping and Amish offerings. 30/50A and water but no sewer. A person will come by your site and drain your black and grey tanks for $10.00/dump or a dump station is available in the park. Membership to Passport America, Escapees and Coast to Coast provides discounts. I would stay here again. For me, the positive aspects outweigh the negative aspects. This is an excellent campground well maintained and clean. The transient sites are all back in and have only water and electric. A dump station is available and easy to get too. An absolute recommendation and endorsement for a no-frills campground. The check in process is different since you select your site, hook up and wait for the camp host of the day to welcome you and collect the fee. When we made this reservation they told us that we might have to have two sites because of the length of the RV and tow. But when we arrived the sites that they have blocked off for Coast to Coast are on the as you drive in and can take a 45 foot with a tow. Some of them are on a slight hill so choose wisely and you will not have a problem. The ground are very well kept, they have a play ground for the kids....mini golf....pool and a kiddy pool. Tennis court and basketball area. The people that run the park are very friendly and helpful. They also accept Coast to Coast points, so the cost to us was zero. Enjoyed this park and Howe, IN also. Passport America sites are back in along the corn field with E & W. Dump in CG but not at site. Some electric posts are shared. One 50 amp and 1 or 2-30 amp hookups per post. May need long extension cord. Mosquitoes present near vegetation. Drive slowly because of dust from gravel roads. Also lots of iron in water and water has metallic taste. Fill your water tank before you go or have good filters. We camped at Grandview Bend Family Campground in a Motorhome.
