The staff were very friendly and helpful. This campground is essentially in the middle of a parking lot along the road. There was plenty of traffic because there was an event the night we stayed. Overall it was ok, we just stayed here because it was very close to the Children's Museum. We camped at Indiana State Fair Campground in a Motorhome.

It was ok for a couple nights so we could see the Speedway because there didn't seem to be any other place to stay. But, it's a one row strip of campsites along the fence at the back of the fairgrounds. Basically mowed weeds, dirt and rocks on a big asphalt parking lot. With trash cans. And hook-ups. I would hate to be there when it needs to be one camper per site instead of two. But, the utilities worked fine. When you drive in gate six the campground is straight ahead. Sites 1-8 don't have sewer but all of the rest do. Verizon worked well. Lots of OTA TV and no trees blocking our satellite. Some small grassy areas but overall not a very good place for dogs. We won't return, but it was ok for a couple nights because of the location. We camped at Indiana State Fair Campground in a Motorhome.

So this one is a little sticky. I found this fairground on rv park reviews and then went on the state fairground website that instructed that there was year round camping spots available and to just go to gate 6 and pick a spot. They further instructed that security would find you and check you in. Well, we arrived and we didn't find the campground on the fairground but security and the managers were soooooo nice and accommodated us by allowing us to stay in the park a few blocks away that they used for people working the fair. They didn't have many people there yet for the fair so it was okay for one night. It was plenty big enough for the 45' coach and had lots of spaces to choose from. They were very nice about the whole thing, from start to finish. I highly recommend you call first to ask about any camping and disregard the webpage. Call the security office or the fairground to find out about options. We camped at Indiana State Fair Campground in a Motorhome.

Simple back-in parking spots along roadway, which could be tight when campground is full. Friendly, helpful staff. Bathrooms were dated but clean. We would stay again. We camped at Indiana State Fair Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

As others said, it is hard to find parks convenient to visiting most urban areas. The Fairgrounds campground are fine for a reasonably secure place to stay when visiting family/friends, etc. It is NOT a resort! But nice to have 50 amp and w/sewer. There is a reasonably priced washer/dryer set in each restroom. Sites near the restroom are best suited for very small RVs or tents as they are unlevel but the rest are reasonable. Sites are EXTREMELY narrow (about 11') if you really follow the designations, but everyone takes 2 spaces and then there is no problem. Over the 4th of July weekend about 2/3 full, but would be impossible for most if they started forcing the spacing. We camped at Indiana State Fair Campground in a Motorhome.

Enter off of Fall Creek, gate 6, was pretty easy. There was a car auction when we pulled in and there was one site left. Luckily it wasn't too bad but looking at most others they looked very un-level and extremely close together. Every other one will have hookups on wrong side. Water and electric worked fine but sewer was in a very bad spot. Would not stay here again. We camped at Indiana State Fair Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here during the State Fair when the rates are slightly higher. An excellent place to stay and catch free shuttles to the Fair. We had FHU's with 50 amp service on a grassy/sunny site. Entrance on 46th street was easy and convenient. Great location to visit Indianapolis. We camped at Indiana State Fair Campground in a Motorhome.

Sometimes it's difficult to find an RV park in a large city, like Indianapolis. We find that sometimes fairgrounds solve that problem. In this case it's better than most. The sites are nice grass spots just off of a large paved parking lot. They offer full hookups with 50amp service for $30 per night. The only negative is that there is no shade. Bathroom and showers are available but I haven't checked them out to know the quality. There is another portion of the campground area that offers pull thrus and shade but it wasn't open when we were there. We were in a 40' RV and the space was plenty big and roomy. We would stay here again.` We camped at Indiana State Fair Campground in a Motorhome.

The location to downtown is excellent. The campground area that was open when we arrived was on the edge of the large parking lot that required the you back the rig over a curb and up against the fence. The sites were all sloping forward and even with blocks under our front jacks we could not get level. Also the sites are very narrow, but given the number of campers they allow each to take two sites. There was another campground area that looked nice, level and shaded, but it was gated off while we were there. The fair grounds are great to walk or ride bikes around, and there looks to be activities going on most weekends. They had a National Fly Ball competition and model train show going on so we went to both. Unless I had a reason to be close to downtown I will not stay here again. We camped at Indiana State Fair Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed as part of a large Rally and had a grass site with no hookups. Based on what we saw during our 8 nights here, I am not sure that we would stay here if we were not part of a group. One of our friends was rear ended at the entrance and it took an hour and a half for a cop to show up after they called for one. It is not a very good area at all so we would be inclined to stay elsewhere and drive in. Sites varied from fairly nice to not anywhere near being level. Batwing TV reception was very good and Verizon connected at 4G. We camped at Indiana State Fair Campground in a Motorhome.

Rate was for FMCA Rally. Fairgrounds are near downtown Indianapolis and in the older, poorer part of town, but plenty of security during our stay. Sites varied from fairly nice to not anywhere near being level. Plenty of room for rally. Great venue buildings. For those not with a rally, instructions on the electric boxes to call the security number to pay for your site. Garbage barrels right in front of MH and picked up daily. Would stay again even without being part of a group. We camped at Indiana State Fair Campground in a Motorhome.

Grassy but solid sites. Verizon 4g was exceptional. I was here with FMCA rally so price is just a guess. They had over 1800 rvs here for the rally. Only had 30 amp power but full hookup. Water pressure was extreme -- blew the end off one of my hoses. Pressure reducers at the faucet are a must. We camped at Indiana State Fair Campground in a Motorhome.

We actually did not have a nightly rate since we were here for the FMCA rally. Our site was perfectly level, but many were not. Downtown location. Lots of security. Plenty of room for rally. Great venue buildings. Enjoyed 50 amp full hookups. We camped at Indiana State Fair Campground in a Motorhome.

As previous reviewer said, sites 300-310 are the best. When you get into the fairgrounds stop and call the security number. They will assist you to a campsite. Mary suggested site 304 which was much better than where most of the campers park. Level sites. May be a bit unnerving when you hear the first acorn drop on your roof. 90# water pressure and best electric power we've seen in 8 years of travel. Was able to set up satellite TV on tripod behind rig. Strong 3G Verizon Wi-Fi. Garbage barrels right by a nearby tree. Picked up daily. Although across town, it only took a few minutes on 32nd Avenue to reach the speedway. We camped at Indiana State Fair Campground in a Motorhome.
